The immigration debate probably won’t change the course of this election as other issues have come to the forefront. But while most Americans are preoccupied with trying to make ends meet in the face of skyrocketing inflation, the facts on the ground are being created right now for eventual union with Mexico and Canada.
The United States already has free trade agreements and de facto open borders with Mexico. Motivated by economic opportunity and easy welfare, illegals come and go as they please and live in our sanctuary cities where they are safe from deportation. What’s next? Further economic integration, loss of national sovereignty, and a common currency… which probably won’t be the dollar as it has been collapsing right before our eyes.
Eventually, these developments could lead to a third-world style “North American Union” which would be a fascist elite’s dream come true. An impoverished, dependent and divided population is much easier to rule than a nation of self-confident individuals who can make a living on their own and who share the traditions and values that this country was founded upon.
Ron Paul’s six point plan puts a stop to illegal immigration:
- Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
- Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
- No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
- No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
- End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
- Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

The air is much fresher, and it’s easy breathing out here if you would pull your head out of your butt! The jobs they are doing were previously held by Americans. Your alluding to “white People” implies that you are of some other persuasion. On a recent trip through N.E. Texas I saw miles, and miles of highway being built with contractors whose business had Latino names, and ALL of the operators, and supervisors were OBVIOUSLY Mexican, could not speak enough English to explain the delay, and Americans (black, and white) were sweeping gravel on the shoulder of the road. By the way, What do YOU do for a living?

I believe every word of it. i dont think that if your child is born here automatically makes them a citizen. the parents and the child should have to do the process of becoming a citizen. do you know how many children at the school my mother works for who cant speak english and their parents are illiegal. this country was founded on the english language and should be that way. i dont appreciate my children having to learn a different language to accomadate them. and i really dont appreciate that my tax money is going to some illegal alien to have their baby here, feed them with food stamps, or be giving them welfare because they are illegal to get a job in the first place.

Man I support the shit out of Ron Paul. I have waited for ever for a candidate that had the balls to say the shit he says. I haven’t found an issue I disagree with him on until this one, but compared to every other candidate one issue to disagree with him on is not so bad. He believes that the politicians move when the people do, so I posted this blog. I wont pretend to have the right answer as I have never taken the time to really think about a solution, but I know this sounds like some crazy extreme shit. You are NOT an American by definition simply because you are born here unless your parents hold legal residence. You are an American by legislation. To presume to know where they will grow up, and how they will live is ludicrous.
Dr Paul simply believes that the resources that go to feeding, clothing, and treating the needy should go to American citizens. Many illegals DO come here for the benefits afforded them through our welfare, and social services. The worst part of it is that the illegals, under the current programs are afforded more money than an American that has put money into Social Security for their entire working life. While Americans as a whole do believe that anyone has a basic right to improve their life, we also understand that if you begin as a criminal, you live as one. Let’s say that you come home from work, and a strange couple is sitting in your living room eating food that you carefully planned into your budget, and can not afford to replace without taking money from your house payment. When you tell them to leave they protest, “Please Senora, do not make us leave. We like it here, Your house is much better and prettier than ours. Besides, we cleaned it for you, and cut your grass, and washed your driveway, and painted your house for you, my nieces, and nephews will be here tomorrow to put on a new roof. We won’t cost you much, and we work hard, and we are honest…except for the breaking and entering.”
The Liberal mantra is that they are just doing the jobs that Americans won’t do. Do you believe that? Are you saying that Americans don’t want to be Farmers,Carpenters,Surveyors,Mechanics,Assembly personnel,Painters, Landscapers,Equipment operators? The list is endless. We Americans are not against immigration…we are against ILLEGAL (breaking, and entering) immigration.
This issue is about our Government Reps, who for the last 20 yrs have intentionally, and systematically replaced the American worker with immigrant labor for the benefit of corporate gain.

The American people have been carrying the weight of peoples from other nations too long. If they want to cross our borders illegally and become sponges to our Society, they need to pack their bags and go back home. We don’t have the money to support them.
