He should announce that he is refocusing his efforts, in order to convince the delegates in St. Paul to elect him as VICE President.

He doesn’t have to endorse McCain. He doesn’t even have to like him.

It’s not the presidential nominee who picks the VP nominee — it’s the delegates. And NONE of them are bound for the VP vote!

“sys” mentioned joining with Michael Savage. I too like Michael. Right now he’s getting nailed for so-called “hate speech”. Michael has a problem with Israel.
Back when Mona Charin, the radio wimp, Michael Medved and others with dual citizenship with the Nation of Israel were busily lying about Ron Paul because of his stance on this war, and US aid to Israel and foriegn countries they were busy with absolute lies about Ron Paul. Savage repeated this stuff as if it were gospel.
Savage ruins the effect of his caller by interruption with anything he doesn’t agree with.
Folks who consider themselves Jews, Jewish, Israelites, are a group to themselves. Ron will avaoid him. GO RON PAUL.

Stay the course, Dr. Paul. McCain may get skunked in the Electoral College leaving the GOP in shambles. You and your supporters will be needed to pick up the pieces for the future.

Ron Paul should do whatever he thinks is best. I think it would be presumptuous that any of us would think that we would know better than he what he should do. And I, for one, trust his choices.

If Ron Paul leaves the Republican Party, I think he will lose his seniority in the House, which means no more Ranking member of any committees, etc. That would be bad simply because as much as I want it to happen, short of McCain keeling over, RP is not gonna be the nominee :( In light of that I think he’s made the right choice staying in the GOP.

Ron Paul needs to openly challenge John McCain to a debate. Create buzz. So much attention has been given to Hillary and Obama that most Americans don’t even know who Ron Paul is, or that he is even a nominee!

An open challenge will at least create buzz. If it were actually accepted – then people can get a true comparison and Real Debate.

Ron Paul should have taken the offer to accept the nomination of the Constitution Party. They stood ready and willing to have him as their candidate, and they are in greater alignment with him than are the Libertarians. Under the present circumstances he should accept the nomination of another third party or go independent.

Ron Paul has more of a chance getting the GOP nomination, than McCain has of winning the presidentcy.

And I may be wrong on this, but, since Barr’s record isn’t so spotless. He was one of the many on the Clinton/Lewinski witch hunt. And at the same time, was also having an affair with his wife. And whether you think he should have or shouldn’t have, the Clintons are still dearly loved in this country. And the media will eat Bob Barr alive for doing so.

But, no matter what Ron Paul does, I will still be writing in his name on the ballot. And still keep sending the GOP, John McCain and others who support McCain, emails to show my thoughts on their attempts to end the GOP forever by endorcing John McCain.

Ron Paul is the closest thing I’ve seen of anyone who wants to return the government to the people. This country is headed for doom if we don’t quit trying to be the police of the world. There are some things we just can’t change. The ethnic groups of Iraq and
other regions of the middle east have been at war with one another for hundreds of years. We can’t do anything to change that. We need to focus our attention on problems at home. We are spending
like there is no tomorrow. We need a leader who will be fiscally responsible, try to fix social security and try to balance the budget instead of printing more money to fix the problem. We need a leader who will restore integrity to government. Ron Paul is the closest thing I’ve seen of anyone capable of tackling the problems at hand.

The Republican Party of Reagan and Goldwater is still salvageable. I’d like to see him stay. However, there are at least a dozen countries that would welcome an anti-collectivist, pro-human, pro-freedom leader like Ron Paul. Ron Paul could easily win the presidency of any former Soviet-controlled country. And in six-months, after he turned the country into a thriving superpower, people here might wake up, realizing at last that it’s all about what they can do, not their soul-sapping government.

Ron should stick with the Republican Party as long as possible to educate and to harass the buggers. Then he should also be setting
the stage for a third party or write-in campaign. The country needs
Dr Pauls Constitutional stand and his rock hard support for the Bill

Ron Paul would be wasting his time trying to “take back” or “reform” the GOP. The forces within the party to remain on its present course are simply far too great. There are elements within the GOP who are already trying to cash in on the “Ron Paul Revolution”—glad-handing the Ron Paul community while privately seeking to capitalize on its momentum for their own ends.

A return to the Constitution requires that someone like Ron Paul start a disciplined and principled third party, one that is dedicated to the principle of freedom and individual rights—no exceptions and no excuses. By Pauls own admission, third parties have an almost impossible uphill battle—but it would be much easier than trying to reform the GOP: fact of life! The sooner he or someone else does this the better. Time is already running out.

Ron is a man we can all respect. I think he should back away and work to change the GOP – if this doesn’t work (which it probably won’t) – he needs to start his own party. I think he would have a great following if his supporters could be labeled something other than “Republican” or “Independent”.

I think the 3rd party didn’t work before because the name “Libertarian” is confusing to the average person.

I have spoken with a number of people who think the party is “liberal,” i.e., similar to the democrats versus a party that cares about personal freedom & liberties.

WHY CAN’T WE START A NEW PARTY -” THE STRICT CONSTITUTIONALISTS.” AN INDEPENDENT WON’T EVER GET ENOUGH VOTES. ADDITIONALLY, INDEPENDENTS SCREW THE BETTER OF THE TWO PARTIES (GOP) & GIVE MORE VOTES TO THE DEMOCRATS – WHO ARE JUST COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL (SPENDING WISE).

RON PAUL MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST RUN AS AN INDEPENDENT, BECAUSE HE IS AN INDEPENDENT!!!

    Let me explain:

To begin, the notion that the politics of this country are based on a two-party system is based on a great misunderstanding. The fact is that our politics emanate from a SINGLE PARTY, like two subsidiaries owned by a single parent company. When voters go to the polls to cast their vote for either mainstream party candidate, it is like a consumer purchasing a television from manufacturer A or manufacturer B, both of which are owned and controlled by the same parent corporation. It is a travesty and a farce!

I wholeheartedly applaud and commend Ron Paul’s desire to win back the Republican Party and to restore it to the place of integrity from which it has fallen. I support the “cleaning house” of those Republicans in office who do not uphold the values of their party and the restoration of our country’s foreign and domestic policies to those of our Founding Fathers.

This should be, and this will be.

    However,

Attempting to win the vote from within a corrupted media-controlled, single-party system is not only improbable but simply illogical and a waste of social and financial resources.

The symbolism inherent in Dr. Pual’s run as an Independent candidate is PRICELESS!!!! And under the direction of a competently intelligent, creative, and resourceful campaign manager, his victory in the general election can all but be assured.

    Consider this:

Ron Paul, Republican, the last true citizen-statesman, defender of our Constitution, champion of civil liberty and public empowerment, fierce proponent of government for the people by the people, is forced to run outside of the party to which he so sincerely and lovingly declares his allegiance because the political and ideological infrastructure of his party has suffered such great deterioration to its very foundation, that it is no longer functional and scarcely recognizable.

Let us not wait for the next election. The time to turn our country around is not in 2012. The time is NOW. Let us use the resources that we have available to us NOW and put them to full use NOW. Let us gather together with confidence, embracing the REALITY that public opinion can and does change with the direction of the winds. Let us get out there and INFORM our fellow Americans–to whatever extent they each may be capable of understanding at present–of Ron Paul’s dream for America, of the truth behind the mainstream candidates’ common agenda, of the staggering consequences that can and will result if ANYONE other than Dr. Paul is elected to the White House in November.

Let us forgive our fellow Americans for blindly following the call of the mainstream media and for not daring to introspect or inspect or question. Let us look only to the bright and beautiful future that awaits us on the dawning of a new political, economic, and social era that is characterized by education, empowerment, freedom, and common love among the people of the United States of America.

Get up and do it! And speak with your loudest voice to encourage Dr. Paul to put his financial, social, and political resources to use by running as an Independent, outside of the corrupted single-party system. Speak with your loudest voice to encourage Dr. Paul to fearlessly step to the plate and represent those who dream of a country that is built upon liberty, integrity and virtue. Speak with your loudest voice to encourage Dr. Paul to create a true revolution–in the most clear and precise definition of the word–by standing up to the controlled media, standing up to the elitist oligarchy of the ruling class, informing and empowering the people to choose for themselves.

INFORMING AND EMPOWERING THE POEPLE TO CHOOSE FOR THEMSELVES.

I pledge my allegiance to Dr. Paul, I pledge my allegiance to my fellow citizens with great love and compassion, I pledge my allegiance to the United States of America, which will rise up once again like a pheonix and be for the world a beacon of hope, of change, of prosperity and freedom and love for one’s common man.

There is more riding on this country’s next presidential election than the direction of its own policies and the fate of its own citizens. Whether they know it or not, the eyes of the world are upon us all to stand up and do the right thing, and to serve as an example for all the ill-informed and ill-empowered citizens of the world who blindly suffer under government by individuals who truly do not have their best interests at heart.

While I support Dr. Paul almost 100%, suggesting he leave the mainstream GOP and venture off on his own would further alienate him. He is already perceived by many to be a nutcase – we don’t need to give any more ammunition to those folks. Not only that, he would likely lose his seat in the House in the next election were he to remove himself from the party, which would push him out of government entirely. This wouldn’t be a good plan.

Dr. Paul would have no chance of winning as a third party candidate and that’s something that we, as a minority voice for change in America, have to accept – for now.

    To all interested parties.

Dr. Paul no longer has the option of running as a third party or independent candidate. The deadline to file as an independent or third party candidate has passed in most if not all states. The only option open to Dr. Paul at this point is to run as a Write-in on the Republican ticket. Most states allow for a Write-in for the party on which you ran in the primary. We need Dr. Paul to file as a Write-in in the states that have that provision.

It’s probably a good strategy for Ron Paul to stay in the Republican race and shoot for the long game. However, I’ll be voting for him in November regardless of which box I have to check. I respect my vote too much to throw it away on one of the other “choices”.

I agree that Ron Paul should continue to educate the American people. That is the key, to show people the truth. The question is however the best way to go about that.

I personally think the best way he can educate the people is to stay in the race and be a 3rd candidate. Why? There is all this corruption against him right? Nobody ever wins there right? It’s all biased against 3rd parties right?

That IS exactly the reason he should do it. Because every time the media has to show it’s hand and be biased, America just got an education. Every time the rules change, or the requirments needed changed after Ron Paul meets those challenges, America just got an education. Every time they try to silence Ron Paul and the people who support him, America just got an education.

The only way to educate people is to show them. And Ron Paul had done that this entire election. He showed positive proof that the media is biased, and blew away the fringe candidate excuse. He showed positive proof that the GOP no longer represents conservative values. He showed positive proof that the establishment is more worried about holding power for themselves than serving the American people. And it has worked. He has continued to climb the polls despite going against a very advanced manipulation machine.

The GOP and the neo-cons have been given their chances to get in line, and they have refused. They have told you straight to your face on multiple occasions that you don’t mean anything or matter. They even straight tell you – we don’t even want your vote. Why in the world should any of us stick around and support the same GOP that did nothing while Romney bought straw poll votes in florida, and has actively worked to silence us as much as possible?

The way I see it we tried the system and the system failed, not Ron Paul. I personally do not see how we are helping anything by trying to overtake a party in a 2 party system(1 party really). We would be merely helping to prop up a failed system, and the GOP with it’s recent history would be nothing more than putting concrete blocks around our ankles. They had their chance. If the GOP fails to wake up and nominate Ron Paul, then I will be done with the GOP period.

    Hi All,
I think it would be best to trust Dr. Paul’s judgment. He is the overall fast-track to honest, conservative, no-compromise R3VOLution. Though it won’t happen over night, it will be a relatively fast win now, and there is the rest of the world to think on, …

Please, let me expand on that a bit. All along through this thing, Dr. Paul’s proven wisdom has kept the course unwaveringly. He has intentionally stood behind the momentum of benevolent human nature as it sweeps through this evolutionary time on Earth. Even he was astonished at the power of the Internet, & the millions of minds who share the essential message. And his calm, experienced, objective, sublime manner of delivering it en-masse, has meant that the ideas of minimal gun-backed gov’t conservatism are even still gaining accelerating momentum, worldwide.

For my part, I am in Nova Scotia, in what I refer to as Red Canaduh these days. I see first-hand the destructiveness of a secretive, self-serving, dishonest gov’t headed more toward death-oriented totalitarianism, than toward life. I am dadgummit glad the tapeworms don’t produce our shoes, or our computers. We’d all be barefoot up here in the snow, waiting for our lil’ Chinese-bought gov’t-issued, sponge-soled shoes, with no communication to the outside world ~ for a long time, just like the 6-12 months wait time we now have for health care, & justice through the courts, in each province. Everything they touch either disintegrates or turns to stone; their results could never be more conspiratorial, even IF they weren’t intentional. This is the nature of invalid, value-destructive ancient concept of artificial border politics that we still play at.

Free enterprise alone is our salvation; our means to peaceful evolution. In it, we have the necessary vehicle, (w/ incentive, means, technology, & reward,) to successfully out-compete to produce net-values, while all other humanoid endeavours through gov’t, religion, or non profits (altruism) always only ever destroy ~ … ALL they touch. Challenge this, & I’ll refer you to follow the money, (today, none of which is retained by its creative originating producers.)

Competition only exists in business & nature, & it is the only thing that keeps humans energized, growing, balanced & honest ~ as it works only when it is totally voluntary, according to the prerogative & the inalienable right of conscious beings. Guns, fists, coercion & other defaults to the easy, boring, mystical sleights of hand under the pathological control of ego-filled, cheating second-handers now fails us, … while the absence of free-competition business on Earth predicts the demise of our grand children.

The non-lazy, creative, out-competing upstart is the gem & hero of all humanity, bringing cures, pleasure, growth, evolution, wealth, & abiding happiness to us all. And this occurs through mass marketing, man’s highest activity, which gives no quarter to humanoid self-pity, malicious envy, nor theft ~ including in honest elections.

Dr. Paul knows all this, & also that the Constitution needs amendments, as it has failed to keep the wild-eyed, feeding-frenzied parasites at bay. Mr Barr knows this too. Mr. Barr could plan to endorse Dr. Paul, as could the leaders of Constitutionalists, Natural Laws, Capitalists, Laissez Faires, Neo-Techs, Independents, many Dems & Reps, & any others. This is likely more realistic as a leveler to mcgain’s unearned sway in the immediate term. Competition is grand, as I said, & it wins the Reps back! But who really cares about the party (unless you depend on its largesse for your unearned livelihood); it is just the tool toward the only essentials of benevolent minimal human governance ~ limited to justice, constabulary, & defence. This is a big project, folks. The welfare state is the enemy of productive, moral conscious beings; just as those whom are dependent upon such a state are their own worst flagellants.

Frankly, I am frightened for Dr. Paul’s life. If he were to win, it would most certainly shorten his days, even simply statistically. I love this man, as we ought all such beneficients, & we ought to plan so that no harm comes to him, or any others who put themselves in such harm’s way while we benefit. Unlike our feckless opposers, we have the shoulders to protect ‘life indeed.’ I would rather see Dr. Paul become a Vice to mcgain than risk his life as did JFK. And I can see him being the creative boost to a Libertarian Pres. Barr, too, ~ as his Vice, even in a minority gov’t of some form, or vice versa. The R3volution would start to turn the tide under these conditions, but a mighty tide it faces, still.

I believe Dr. Paul sees 2012, or ’16, as the next year of a Rep. Prez, & I think he sees it as someone other than himself. The 4.5 ++ years now ’till then give ample opp. for enterprising honest conservative dynamics to take very deep root, assuring the outcome w/out the mainstream media, who will be progressively more & more laughed out of existence now. Bolstered by the house turnouts in 2010, things ought to be looking up there down there by the next election. Lucky you!

What about the world? I want Dr. Paul for next PM here! Many would say the same all over the globe. He might consider travelling beyond the scope of the West’s MSM, go influence billions, & move around without timidity within all the peoples of the world, while getting his book published in an endless variety of languages. They need the message of freedom too, to introduce it first among themselves if nothing else! Why not? It can only bode well if, say, Cuba went fully Mises/Austrian conservative! Them out-planning gov’t & exploding w/ productivity, or the Czech Rep, or Russia, or China, or Iran, or Sudan, or Venezuela, … or any, … or all, can only obsolete & collapse the anti-viva status quo agendas of the death-oriented ones earlier.

As I say, Dr. Paul’s wisdom is the fastest realistic track for all to obtain permanent, abiding happiness, as no place is insular any longer. I daresay, once planted somewhere, … anywhere, persuasive influences that would be mirrored to & fro’ Uncle Sam from other wards are just as valid as any from within borders ~ to the undecided or erring individuals everywhere that starve for their inalienable rights as conscious beings.

Any one through out the world who believes in freedom and liberty is my brother. You have every right to raise your voice. If Liberty dies in the US. You must carry it on where ever you are.

I think he should run 3rd party or independent if the GOP is too stupid to nominate him at the convention. While I see mentions of past failed runs like such, this year is different. Past attempts have been made while both parties were strong. This is not the case this year.

You can count on a GOP and democrat candidate. Now, if Ron Paul enters and it’s a 3 way race then he could win the election with only 34% of the vote. That is of course if the other 2 parties split the vote. The GOP being weaker you can expect more democrats than republicans, so realistically he needs a bit more than that. However, many who support Hillary might go to McCain which splits the democrats as well. It is also well known that Ron Paul gets many independent and democrat votes, so it won’t be only votes taken from McCain that he gets.

If there was ever a year when a independent or 3rd party candidate could pull it off it would be this year. And if there were every a candidate who could do it, it would be Ron Paul. People are anxious to hear the truth these days, and unlike the other candidates once someone understands the truth then they don’t go back to supporting the other guys.

Ron Paul should stay in the race and try to speak at the Republican Convention. Third Party runs/races don’t work. See the Bull Moose Party run (1012?), LaFollette “Progressive run” in 1928, Ross Perot ,1992, and Ralph Nadar 2004. Further, crossing party lines detracts from the message and collides with other people’s ” dirty linen.”

If the March on Washington actually takes place, main stream media will not be able to ignore that fact. It’s all in the numbers. This thrust of marchers will make people stand up, that is, the Media and the GOP and notice and should give him a shot at influencing the platform as a speaker. His voice cannot go ignored forever.

Who knows there may even be a revolt withinin the GOP itself since this ” controlled Dictatorship” of ” combined self-interest money groups and leftist forces” `should not be allowed to continue.
Let’s take back our freedom and put down the controlled press through legal action resulting in punitive monetary action. That much they will understand. Regards, EMilio Cinelli

i believe Ron Paul and his supporters should continue as far and for as long as they can.
i believe this will truly be a summer of discontent.
the freedom march will show the national support for real change and make the republicans take notice of whts needed and its not Mcinsane

Ron Paul should be at the convention and the nominees should abstain in the first round.
vote for Paul in the second.

you never know what might happen, Mccain might have to drop out due to health reasons, he may even be removed or discredited if the truth about him being a traitor finally comes out

Paul will be there if he does.

try keep the faith everyone, even talking of him stepping aside is sending the wrong message in my view

its the most worthwhile campaign this century
we should not let it fail
we may never get another chance to mount it.

Ron Paul is supporting us and putting himself in the firing line to help us, can we not do the same for him?
its not like we are alone or even that we are few, there are at least 1.5 million like minded voting people.

I’m not certain if the Good Doctor can switch parties easily at this point. I read somewhere and even heard Paul state that doing this would be intensively time-consuming and costly.

My push to elect him by popular vote is only to show the bureaucracy that THE PEOPLE WILL BE HEARD!!! This country is a REPUBLIC. That means that we elect people that WE CHOOSE TO REPRESENT US, versus what’s happening right now. What’s happening now is covert operations including “buying” presidencies and other offices. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Let’s take back the process. Even if Paul does not become President by electoral votes, he’ll always be the REAL CHOICE OF ‘08 if we WRITE HIM IN. PLEASE, PEOPLE. WE MUST DO THIS. WRITE IN RON PAUL ‘O8.

I agree Cassandra Bachrach, but we can’t write in in Hawai’i. Our Supreme Court even back up the Democratic legislature on that.

Doesn’t really matter, our 4 electorial votes will go to whomever wins most of the popular vote. This could back fire of course. Hawai’i is supporting Obama around 70%. So if Ron Paul could just win the most votes, he’d win Hawai’i too.

    Idiots!

    Calling all Ron Paul supporters!

Let’s start today…RIGHT NOW…to persuade as many people as possible to WRITE IN Ron Paul’s name on the November ballot. Our goal, in short, will be for Ron Paul to win the popular vote for U.S. President.

A wise person once said that if you want something badly enough, you can find a way to make it happen.

    IT CAN HAPPEN.

WRITE IN RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT IN ‘08!!
Winner of the vote of THE PEOPLE.

i think he should NOT run as Independant because it’s not likely he’ll win against McCain and you might as well be giving your vote to Obama.

I threw Hillary a few bucks during the primaries, and now that she’s probably out of the picture (unless the Super Delegates come to their senses ), I’d be willing to do the same for a good, strong 3rd Party candidate!

We need the message to continue to be heard. I say GO FOR IT, but hurry up and get the campaign off the ground, so that you can gather some momentum.

    I’m DEFINITELY in!!

I’d love for Ron to run independent or third party but I think it’s too late for that. Both the Libertarians and Constitutionalists have their nominees. I know of no other party that would suit him. Unfortunately running independent isn’t much of an option in our current situation. Ballot access is simply unavailable and would be too much of a challenge to acquire at this point.

Instead I feel he should focus his efforts into creating either a new political organization that operates party independent or perhaps even a new party unto itself. This group would be committed to finding or running liberty candidates and generating support for their campaigns.

Endorse an Ideal not a candidate.

Endorse “that major candidate who will bring small government.”

Granted, it means McCain, but let the media make that assumption. It will be far more powerful a statement than a direct endorsement and it will protect you for 2012.

Here is a link to another poll to the GOP regarding Ron Paul:

I want to see him as president, but it will take a lot of work. We must continue learning the issues and policies, and start writing and speaking to everyone.

Anything can happen in the next few months.

I pray that Ron Paul should stay until the end. I don’t have any faith in McCain. He is looking out for the globalist elite ( One World Goverment). Ron Paul is looking out for this Nation.

Dr. Paul should very publicly announce McCain as an empty suit and challenge him to prove he is not a puppet in a live public discussion. McCain’s live Tuesday speech showed just how poor a spokesman he is, and the media’s complete failure to show any clips of it demonstrate just how inve$ted they are in him.

Dr. Paul announced some time ago that of the other 3 candidates, he preferred Barack Obama. If he were to endorse anyone, it should only be Obama and it should only occur right after he was announced as Obama’s VP.

Congressman Paul should run as a third party. I’m sure that Baldwin would think about dropping out to endorse Paul. I think the Libertarian Party would take a second look at supporting Paul. I would love to see a Paul/Ruwart Independant ticket.

Ron paul is the only real republican running so he should not drop out. The same thing took place with Lincoln, he went to the convention with less than 1/3 of all the delegates and ended up being nominated. It just takes one slip up from the already unstable McCain.

Ron Paul has a message for the people of the United States of America, that message is Freedom and Liberty. Real freedom and liberty not what you see on TV or in the newspaper. America is not free any more. The fed taps your phones, spies on you and gives you no real leader to vote for, just person after person who will continue their tyrannical agenda. If you want to see a truly free America ensure that you and everyone you know does not vote for McCain or Obama. Spread the word and watch the revolution as it unfolds.

Ron Paul should go further Republican this year and try for the Republican nomination again in 2012, presumably against Barack Obama. If Barack Obama takes the Iraq War off the table effectively, then Ron Paul will not be such a contrevorsial figure in the G.O.P. 2012 primaries, Ron Paul will sweep them, and actually be the Republican nominee in 2012. Ron Paul isn’t so bad for Republicans with the war issue off the table in 2012, I believe.
