Merchant vessels ARE allowed to be armed in accorance with maritime regulations and company policies. B. Most merchant crews are not trained on how to repel boarders, that is, to keep unwanted people from boarding their ships. It isn't that hard to take over a tanker if you have enough people to do so. C. Everyone needs to stop associating bad people with Islam. Those pirates are out there simply trying to make, no, steal a fast buck, and their religious affiliation has nothing to with it. If it did, they would simply kill the hostages and destroy the cargo if challenged. D. It's spelled "Somalia". Have a good day. A.
