Ron Paul should be an advisor to an independent candidate. He has ruffled too many feathers (because of his rational viewpoint). There are a few other rational politicians out there, but who…

I like Ron Paul. I want limited government, fiscal responsibility, and no more Federal Reserve. But it’s true: he’s not a ‘politician.’ He does always seem to be grumpy, and let’s face it, the only people we like angry or grumpy are comedians. The idea is simple: we, the young, learn from these shortcomings and carry the banner ourselves. Start looking toward running in the future! Dr. Paul is a physician, and so is his son: it doesn’t take years of politicking or law school to do this! BTW, depending on how his campaign goes in Kentucky, I think Rand Paul would be a great candidate.
One final note…someone in the thread made an argument about president’s being assassinated for ‘bucking the system.’ That’s great and all, but…we’ve never had a McKenzie in office. It’s McKinley. No offense.

I love Ron Paul. Why? Because he loves this country. He is a true American. He loves the constitution that made this country great.
I sure hope he will run in 2012 – that is if this country hasn’t become an iron fist country by then. It sure is getting scary in America. Will freedom last till then? I am 60 years old and this is not the country I was born in. How could we ever let this great country decay like this? We all need to stand with Ron Paul before it is to late.

He is the most popular candidate at the moment and that really matters. Unless someone else comes to the forefront very soon then Ron Paul will be the only choice. Maybe someone younger with the same views would be a better choice but until that person has made a name for him/herself then I would support and welcome Mr. Paul as our president.

I love Ron Paul, best man to ever serve the U.S government since Abe Lincoln. Running for president at his age will be a big problem for a lot of people not me personally. Also he has a squeaky clean record on voting he has never changed his libertarian guidelines. Which means the media minions will spend all of their time looking for one thing to foul him up and when they find one little thing they will make it the biggest thing in the world. Basically the guy has left on a clean note. He shouldn’t let the run for president destroy his god name.

Ron paul would not be happy about you comparing him to Abe lincoln !!

Abe lincoln was the first war mongering monster that destroyed the Republic of the confederacy and forced Unionization of all states. He also made it illegal for any state to secede from the union. The first Globalist president to make it easier for Obama years later to finish the job.

Bush and obama idolize abe lincoln as there roll model so what does that tell ya ??

Unfortunately I am almost positive Obama will win reelection. He has the media on his side and the economy will be better by then and the majority of the electorate doesn’t pay enough attention to know he had nothing to do with it.
I think by 2016 the country will have fallen off the socialist cliff and will be begging for someone like Ron Paul.

It depends… on weather or not Republicans can vote for themselves.

Me, I’m going to write in Ron Paul for 2012, the same way that I did in 2008. My eyes have been opened and they will not shut.

I love Ron Paul and all that he stands for. I think his age may be against him. Obama is a young man and people like that. But if Obama really screws up then people will want a more experienced man like Ron Paul. That why I say it depends.

I am in agreement with apathetic. Who said our political system is only to be comprised of 2 parties? This is why I am a registered non-partisan. For too long people have been voting for the lesser of 2 evils, but in the end everyone is still voting for evil. I believe Ron Paul should completely move over to the Libertarian side and run for President. Republicans and Democrats together have ruined our country and it’s time for us to stand up and fight to win it back. Benjamin Franklin said it best, “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” I am no longer willing to allow politicians the freedom to decide which liberty will be sacrifice in order to gain some illusionary safety.

Wow, I never realized there was so much wisdom prevalent in the opinions on this site. Somewhere in the earlier comments someone said it’s not about getting the most votes, it’s about doing what’s right – the world would be a different place if everyone followed that advise.
For those of you who think Huckabee is a phoney, religious zealot? Just where are you getting your information? From other’s opinions? Worse yet, from the media? Have you met him? Have you followed him around day to day? Are you there to hear what his prayers are to the Lord Almighty, maker of heaven and earth? Tell me, just how well do you KNOW him? Don’t tell me what you’ve read about him, how well do you KNOW him?
Same thing about Sarah Palin – so easy to formulate an opinion listening to all those sound bites and the media trying to destroy her. For you morons who believe what you read, let me give you some heavenly advise – the more true a person is, the greater the attacks are going to be. We live in a fallen, sinful world and Satan (yes, he’s real and alive – if you don’t believe me, just wait, you’ll meet him someday) is right there trying to stop any good deed to be done. What a hypocrite Huckabee would be if he DIDN’T put his religion out there (for those who don’t know the Truth, it’s a religion; for those of us who do know the Truth, it’s a way of life, a renewal of our souls. Doesn’t make one perfect, just forgiven). Personally, I would hate to see my life, my character, my decisions written about by someone who doesn’t know me intimately. I’m sure I would be worse than Hitler by the time it was all said and done! What exactly is a zionist, someone who believes that God’s original chosen people (before Christ came to choose all people) are still loved by God? I want a front row seat to watch the demise of the person who doesn’t understand that concept!
Well, enough ranting for now, I’d hate to think that my having an opinion that differs from yours would make me non-christian, a hypocrite. Read your Bible, it’s amazing the wisdom you’ll gain. Don’t believe me? I challenge you to do it then, what do you have to lose, a wager?

There are many Christians who have been misled by what
      is NOT in the Bible.

The zionist (Christian) who believe that jews have a special
place in heaven or a special way to heaven must also believe
that the Bible is a lie.

You see, if you read the Bible instead of listening to what
slick tele preachers tell you, you will plainly see that
Paul tells us that there is neither jew nor gentile. They
gloss over the fact the promises made to the jews were
CONDITIONAL. (if you keep my commandments…. etc., etc)

Some (Christian) zionists have even gone so far as to
plainly state that jews do NOT need Christ in order to
be saved. TALK ABOUT BLASPHEMY !!!

One of the most prominent of those televangelistd preachers
is John Hagee. Google “jews zionist jesus” and I think
you can find what he has said… quoted in the Houston
      Chronicle I believe.

      Now… that’s zionism from the Christian perspective…
From every other perspective, it is inherently EVIL
and racist. Those who support it are either evil or
outright ignorant. Sorry to offend…. but those are
      facts.

Whitey21, Very well put. Christians must follow Christ’s teachings. They can not follow the Zionist way, this makes them Zionist’s not Christians. And as a true Christian I am tired of people throwing all Christians into that boiling pot. I am not a Zionist. I am a Christian. Christ was the only person in history to speak on every aspect of social issues. Read the new testament, and you can see he covers everything from women’s and children’s causes to taxes and money. No one else in history speaks on so many subjects.

I know enough to know that that he is on the list of top ten most corrupt politicians. He record is not clean, not even close, with A LOT OF blemishes. No voter can possibley know all candidates personally. That is unrealistic. However, I don’t need to know him personally to judge his character by his words and deeds. I saw how he ganged up on Dr. Paul in the debate and how he kissed him to that evil man McCain. I could tell he did not have sound judgement in foreign matters, that he wears his relgion on his sleeves. That’s enough for me and I say no thanks, no Huckabee for me. Dr. Paul never put his religion out there and we know he is not a hypocrite. A true Christian convey his message NOT by what he says, but by how he lives. It is inconceivable that people cannot see through the phony facade that Huckabee put out there. It is so obvious to me.

I look at there records before i go to the poll and vote. I dont listen to ther babble. Huckabee is a good talk show host and i would recomend that a good job for him to stay with. look at what he did in his own state to get a glimpse of his record. (GREW GOVT) whats the differnce of him versus bush ?? more of the same!!

palin on the other hand, go up to alaska and see what she has done for your self.

look at her record ( only govenor to reject the most stimulus money) only govenor who stashed away almost 10 billion dollars for public services and rainy day fund.

she battled the corrupted oil companies and govt. to give back the people there share of the wealth they get from the oil under the constitution of alaska.

So yeah, fiscal conservative palin beats everyone except ron paul which i would say they are tied.

While I think it will be magnificent that Ron Paul might be president in 2012,his supporters should look at alternatives should some unforseen calamity happen.

This movement that Ron has initiated,is now bigger and more important than any individual. You have to look for new leaders that have not only the honesty and intellect of Ron,but also inspire and galvanise the nation with common goals.

Obama preaches ideals with eloquent phrases, yet lacks the courage and insight to effect meaningful change.

All leaders must be tested by the anvil of public skepticism.

How about Dennis Kucinich as V.P. Reach across the aisle.
I would like to see Ron Paul work to limit the power of the executive branch. This is something he could work on while in Congress. Hard to argue with a man running for Prez. that worked to limit the power of the office he is running for.
The vetting process should be thorough. Membership in certain groups, we all know what groups, should mean immediate disqualification.

Run Ron Run! We need not worry about running mates in 2009. If there are enough people voting for Ron Paul in 2012 for him to win the Republican nomination (a party which he should try to win back as opposed to run against, just as he did in 2008), then we don’t have anything to worry about. He will find a like-minded running mate when the time comes. Let’s get him nominated, then elected.

As president, there will be a more important movement than is taking place now. Instead of taking our country back to being respected by the world, Paul will make America good for Americans again by allowing individual Americans to make decisions. The world will again learn from a successful autonomous America.

Giving minorities more wrights over the real americans who founded this country.

The only reason he became govenor of LA was because of all the race cries of not doing enough to save people in katrina.

I don’t think he would ever get elected. He stands for fiscal responsibility, most Americans don’t, they have been trained to just “want”. He want’s to follow the Constitution, most Americans want it “interpreted”. He is a real conservative, most Americans want at best a “moderate”. I only disagree with him on one point. Just like you can’t negotiate with terrorists, you also can’t ignore terrorists. You have to go where they are and kill them. It’s been that way throughout human history. If the Japs had not attacked Pearl Harbor, they & the Germans might have won WWII.
Plans were found that we were next. Most of you seem young. You don’t yet realize you have to fight for freedom and peace, or you will lose it. It’s also better to fight them on their own ground, not ours.

The reason paul says that is because are Fed bank is the one that funnels money all around the world and arms these terrests with weapons etc. and incentiveses them to kill americans.

before the fed bank, we never used to have a war every two decades or so. That is why his main agenda for years has been to end the fed. that has created all these wars and the rest of the problems for this country.

To assert the Federal Reserve is instigating geopolitical instability and somehow disguising this politically/religiously motivated slaughter “every two decades or so” is just insanity.

It’s the government that via their surgically-conducted terrorist activities and will do via their FEMA camps and martial law institution, the Fed just wants to create a unified one new world order by completely debasing our currency.

What do you think bush jr was doing in the last 8 years by trying to create a north american union.

where do you think all the funding for all these wars come from ?? FED RESERVE!!

you need to realise the fed reserve is a minipulating spider web that controls the world by using the american worker.

Why am I seeing all these suggestions for right-wing politicians like Sarah Palin, Alan Keyes, Huckabee or Newt Gingrich to be Ron Paul’s running mate? The appeal of Ron Paul is that he truly IS a uniter, not a divider–keep it real, Ron!

Dr. Paul has serious competition, and if he does not get the full cooperation from the Republican party, this is going to be a repeat of the last election. We cannot have a divided party. His views are right-on, but if this is not a united fight, he doesn’t stand a chance. For the past several elections it has not been about whom you vote for, as much as, whom you are against. Ron Paul is what this country needs and he needs to be more charismatic & charming, as I believe he is not as compelling a speaker. His choice of a Vice President is critical to complete the package.

McCain was criticized as too old, and I am sure this is going to be an issue with Dr. Paul also.

I would love to vote for Ron Paul, but he needs to rally the cooperation of more than a minority to win.

For years I have wondered at the black or white, either/or, two party system mentality of humanity. I don’t know of a single situation in my life where there are only two choices. I think Ron Paul should run for president as a Libertarian and focus on establishing a viable third party. I’m very tired of thinking that there are only two choices.

I tried to answer this last night, but the connection with the server was temporarily lost as I was preparing for bed. Here’s my answer from last night…

Yes, I truly believe Doc Paul oughtta run again in 2012, but if he’s going to do so -forgive me for being crude, but it needs to be said- he’s gonna have to speak up, lay his salami on the table and not be afraid to get it cut off. This last election, though he had a great deal of grass roots support, he wasn’t loud enough, he couldn’t be heard over the din of Obama and McCain, let alone all the other candidates, and even I saw no reason to vote for him, regardless of how much I wanted him to save this nation.

Doc, you need to show the world somethin’, you can’t just say you’re a lion and then go prancin’ about like a lamb; if you’re gonna act like a lion by God roar, man! Show me something and I’ll vote for you for sure.

I would love to see Ron Paul in that position, the question is his safety. The Federal Reserve and the greedy bankers that are the shadow government are the root of every problem we have in this country. These are dangerous people and it will take a very educated populous and the realization that the system we think we have, really no longer exists. Any politicians that start with good intentions either end up corrupted, or if they don’t play the game, they end up in scandal, or dead.
I fear we are headed for a brutal civil war that will be the biggest challenge the country has ever faced. These truly are the times that try men’s souls…… the question is will we wake up before it’s too late? I’m not too optimistic.

The main street media never gave Ron Paul the same air time to show the nation who he really is as a valuable candidate. That was very clear to me. As, I’m sure it was clear to many folks that stand with Ron Paul’s values. I think that in order for Ron Paul to win this next election. He needs to align himself with some heavy hitters that the whole nation will see as a no nonsense people with bright ideas. Such as Bill O Rielly. American’s love Bill O Rielly I think! That is not saying that Ron Paul is not a no nonsense person. I just think he has no chance of winning based on what I saw in the last election process. “Unless” he make some changes. He needs to be crafty. sneaky. and, underhanded just like Obama and his cabinet was to win in the last election. They made their own rules so it seems. Also, He needs the best writers for his speeches to get the message out to the masses. He needs to change his voice to a deeper tone . His voice comes off almost cartoon’ish. He needs to be much more forceful in his delivery of information to the people so they see that he is the right person for the job and the right person to lead this nation in the right direction. I have no doubt that he is the right person. He just needs to get the main street media on his side to promote him and all of his great quality’s as our next President. Good Luck Ron. I Hope that you pull it off as our next PRES> GOD BLESS AMERICA! And GOD BLESS YOU!

I have read Dr. Pauls books and listened to the speeches. I really like the fact that he is a straight talker and his voting record backs that up. In politics you rarely see that. As far as running in the next election, correct me if I am wrong but isnt he 72 years old. I am sure someone from the Paul camp will run and share his views but Ron but be a little too old now. Remember how they carved up John Mccain for running at 72.

      - What the heck does age has to do with this? He has a brilliant mind and seems to be in good health. And, compared to the doofus who was the puppet for eight years, and managed to drag America into the raping of Iraq (An ugly act, which had a solid support among the woolly American population!), it seems totally ridiculous to be concerned about the age of Doc Paul.
      - There is indeed much more reason to be concerned about the man’s chances to survive assassinations, should he ever get close to winning a Presidential race.

It may be a bit premature to even suggest this candidate as a running mate for Dr. Paul in 2012 because of his lack of national exposure. A darkhorse for sure.

However, wouldn’t it be sweet to see the one person we know for certain that shares Dr. Paul’s vision for our country?

I’m speaking of course about his son Rand. The first father/son ticket in US history.

It would allow for a smooth transition of power if Dr. Paul should decide to limit his term to four years because of age, health, etc.

    Absolutely!

Look at the republican party. The hypocritical GOP of the past is looking to restore it’s traditional values. Ron Paul is the image of those values. It will be much more difficult for them to reject his ideals as they did last election after making a visible effort at changing their ways.

I think this time around Dr. Paul has a much better shot of becoming not just the voice of the republican party, but the symbol of it.

And beyond the heavenly prospect of Dr. Paul’s election… his 2008 presidential campaign is where I found out there are people in politics who actually care about their ideals. People who are truly republican. People who care about the constitution. I had pretty much given up hope that there was any reason in caring about politics altogether until I had heard of Ron Paul’s campain.

Running in 2012 will, if nothing else, bring more to the light.

Research where both the democratic and republican party get their money from, both locally and nationally. It is basically from the exact same lobbyist’s, special interest groups, etc…. There is not difference in the Republicrat one party system.

America is destroyed. It has nothing but an Army. It is on the road to failed half socialism, half fascism. Ron Paul’s ideas are for the most part idea and the remainder destroy the value of what is good. Not one man can turn this around. Ron Paul will not live long enough to fix it or even finish his term if elected. In some matters he has no sense of reality. An Army marches on its stomach, fights with gold.

The United States as we know it has obviously been controlled by an evil banking industry. An industry that controls the media, and would hate it very much if RON PAUL became Commander in Chief. The growing number of Americans that have opened there eyes want a new leader who will return the United States to Greatness. No more federal reserve, no more unfair taxes. We need a real President not a puppet, Ron Paul is the voice of people, and is the people. Ron Paul will be the next Commander in Chief of the United States of America! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Right you are, Lee Morales, in some of the points you make. However, the mighty US Zionist “shadow government” will never allow Ron Paul to become President.
And another giant obstacle to bringing the US of A back on a sane track, is your ever present mumbo-mumbo “god bless america”. far too many Americans actually believe that America they have a right to fu.k around with other countries. Insanity!
No, there is next to no hope there, Lee Morales. You lost your country in 1913, and instead of putting faith and belief in yourself, you have lost your country along with a fiat currency carrying the ridiculous slogan; “in god we trust”. Ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous!

Dr. Paul will be pretty much too old for another go around in 2012, but if Mitt Romney makes a run at it again I’ll most likely give the GOP a strong consideration. Otherwise, I’m voting Libertarian!

Ron Paul’s not the answer he’s one of the 545 problems!
He had his 15 minutes of fame in the 2008 election, and didn’t answer the call as he was to worried about loosing his congressional seat to continue as a write-in option?
So he became more of distraction than a solution! The millions of dollars he raised could have been better spent on a guy like Jessie Ventura that a least he has the bottle to stand up and say what he believes, and doesn’t bend to unpopular scrutiny of the media!
I’ve followed Ron Paul over the years, and he says one thing ,and does another! What would be so wrong as to have the Same medical coverage for all Americans that the 545 plus governmental bureaucrats receive? just think cover cradle to grave medical coverage;with out over priced doctors & insurance companies draining every American of there rights under the constitution; if medicine was advanced when the constitution was written it would have been spelled out as one of the guaranteed entitlements!

IF elections were real and not all planned and played out, and IF Dr. Paul were to be elected to the highest office in the land, I believe he wouldn’t last very long. The last guy that tried to bring about real change (JFK) was brought down by someone who tried to cover it all up. I believe the same thing would happen to Dr. Paul today. Becoming president would be the last thing he ever accomplished. However, his death could possibly spark a real revolution in this nation, I just don’t know if he’s willing to take the chance as a martyr. (I would never suggest that this is what I would want to happen either.) We should revolt before any of this happens. The political system CANNOT fix itself. It is nothing more than TYRANNY and I don’t believe one man can fix it either. There’s going to have to be an awakening and a revolt by the people of this nation and possibly the entire world to change anything.

Well, I am going to be very frank ——

I would absolutely love to see Ron Paul as our President or as our Treasury Secretary. Would be wonderful!

BUT —– I don’t think he can win that race with his style of communication. It is a one-on-one style — like a doctor — close to the person —– not projected to a crowd.

I love his ideas. I don’t need a professional speaker to get the ideas. But evidently most Americans do. They want a communicator – even if the communicator isn’t really saying anything.

So I would like to see someone coach Dr. Paul on talking to thousands of people at one time – and reaching yards and yards and yards from the podium. I have no doubt he can do it. But he needs coaching – like any professional.

He also needs coaching on projecting positive emotion and intention. He is often irritated and disgusted – which I think is a very rational response to what is happening in America. But most people don’t want to experience that emotion. So if that is what is being communicated – emotionally – they shut it off. So they don’t get what is actually being said.

And for those who don’t get what is being said anyway – which is many of our uneducated fellow Americans — the emotion is all they perceive, and they need some hope and they need it to feel good.

Also — it’s about creating a goal or purpose. Not just correction. Although to me, correction is really at the bottom of what is really needed. But that doesn’t win an election. And I think Ron Paul is brilliant – and knows we need to correct back to what America is really about.

Another point – I think we need some real DEFINITION clarification on conservatives and liberals. Although many won’t really care, those of us who do, could use some clarification. In my opinion, most of us really want a liberal attitude with regard to human rights —— and a conservative attitude with regard to financial management and laws. These two perspective are collapsed on each other. The actual HATS in running a country are collapsed on each other and are generating a lot of confusion and argument where, in truth, I think there is a lot of agreement among Americans as to what we really want —- human rights and respect and a strong hand on the law (greed and corruption) and being conservative with the wallet.

What a mixture it takes to run for President and then wear the hat of President! A leader who can inspire and communicate to us — and one who can also manage. It is rare in one person. It is two different hats. But Ron Paul could win —- he needs coaching on the hat of inspiration and communication to LARGE groups of individuals. Hope that helps —- Sally
