Ron Paul 2012: When should Ron Paul announce his decision?
RonPaul.com ran two polls earlier this year regarding Ron Paul’s potential candidacy for the presidency in 2012. The first poll ran from February 13 to 23 and the second poll ran from June 1 to 8. The results were almost exactly the same: 93% of our readers want Ron Paul to run for President in 2012.
If Ron Paul runs for President in 2012, when should he announce his decision? As soon as possible so we can all start campaigning (or support another candidate in case Ron Paul doesn’t run), or at a later time (when?), to await further developments and focus on auditing/ending the Fed for the time being?
When should Ron Paul announce his decision for 2012?
- Immediately (50%, 1,558 Votes)
- early 2010 (12%, 370 Votes)
- early 2011 (8%, 252 Votes)
- September 2009 (8%, 249 Votes)
- mid 2010 (8%, 237 Votes)
- late 2010 (7%, 213 Votes)
- late 2009 (5%, 152 Votes)
- Other (specify below) (2%, 84 Votes)

I support Ron Paul because I am tired of being told what I can and can’t do. The Democrats think people are stupid and that they must make our decisions for us so we don’t hurt ourselves. I want Ron Paul to contact me to be his Vice President. I know my US History, I am a strong woman, willing to debate, and full of facts that the other parties do not want others to know about.
Ron Paul Sarah Palin 2012
Liberty and Freedom!!!!!!
Ron would not step in the same room as Palin. Please study RP and you would find that he wants nothing to do with the neocons
Jonathan: Many on this blog are not convinced that Mrs. Palin is a neo-con. Why are you?
Lindsey I’m with you why do people think bad of Sarah?
What has she done to deserve this critical thought?
Boy the lefty media really sways people in thier thinking.
I like to see Ron Paul start running in 2010. I was really hoping that he became the President this term. But the blinded kool-aid drinkers voted for that obama dude. Worst Mistake ever people. Obam is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
This is not related but the world is a dangerous arena. Debka.com wrote this article. Time to protect our own country with secured borders and high tech border equipment. Really scary about the 12 lost suitcase bombs. Read below:
rising disorder, Iran’s nuclear assets are matter of concern
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
21 June : As the Islamic Republic slides deeper into unrest eight days after its disputed presidential election, the fate of Iran’s nuclear resources is becoming a pressing matter of concern.
Iran has accumulated a mountain of nuclear data and a large staff of scientists working inter alia on enriched uranium. Facing opposition in Pakistan, al Qaeda might find Iran a tempting proposition.
This situation has a nightmarish precedent. After the collapse of the Soviet empire in the early 90s, it later transpired that at least 12 nuclear cruise missiles and four Kh-55 nuclear warheads were stolen from the Russian stockpile in the Ukraine and reached the hands of Iran and China who copied their nuclear technology.
And scores of “nuclear suitcases” designed as tactical weapons for Russian special forces vanished and were never traced.
Iran lacks nuclear products of this level of sophisticated but it has accumulated a large quantity of enriched uranium, valuable prototypes of nuclear devices and warheads, ballistic missiles and a great deal of know-how for making “dirty bombs.” In a breakdown of order in Iran, those scientists may well decide to take off and peddle their nuclear trove to the highest bidder.
The strained relations between the Islamic regime and Washington have made it impossible for the administration to access any leading Iranian official to help prevent Iran’s nuclear resources from reaching the wrong hands.
President Barak Obama is under pressure at home to extend more forceful encouragement to the protest movement rather than placating the regime .
The quicker we get a 50 state report card published with information easily understood for all will the truth be told. I believe people have no clue as to what these communist lets not hide from the real truth communists are up to . I think if we can post their voting records on line , on billboards , on t.v. wherever let the people know they have the power . I think with this a full access listing of are leaders phone #s and e-mail contact list.I have never been that active in politics until now within the last year i have been in contact with my leaders in the state that are lost sometimes on a daily basis and we are loosing ground fast wake up . Clearly we do not even have a president he was elected yes but, citizen NOT SO MUCH. GET BACK TO THE BASICS THE NATURAL LAWS. Anyone know where they come from? God remember one nation under God? I do not care about the P.C. police i will stand for God and Country and although middle America has been busy paying the way for these lazy bastards so far we are all but, done and yet they continue to try to enslave us with debt, limit are free speech send their IRS to destroy us well i say go ahead bring it on i will give the glory to the Lord above . Oh my God another right wing Bible pounding right winger no I am just a AMERICAN .I will support Ron Paul completely grass roots i do believe we need a free press of are own for him to be elected though they shunned him completely in 2008 . God bless folks
I’m no guru on political strategy, but I do see this. Idiots who can only see as far a next Friday’s paycheck tend to buy into one sided media propaganda. I know this because I was one of those people. Uninformed, uneducated people seem to hold a big hammer in todays political world as far as voting. They will never support a republican candidate UNLESS that candidate demonstrates that he is COMPLETELY different from what republicans represent today. Ron is that person. Do it when you want to Mr. Paul, your intellect has gotten you the support you have today. My only fear is that you may be ahead of your time. The key: Show those people that Tax money equals time. The formula: Weekly Taxes divided by hourly pay. Result is how many hours they worked for the government.
Good Evening,
Announce now, get the word out and generate interest and support. Rep. Paul can still get after the Fed and take care of immediate business.
Regards,
Ron Paul is definitely the best and so far the only candidate, and his record of integrity proves it. Find me another candidate who is as morally upstanding who has no dirt on his hands, and who has never been bought like 99.99% of the political whores of this nation from the bottom to the top. Secondly, people should STOP being divided by the two-party “dog and pony show” someone wrote about. It’s true. It’s on now and party affiliation does not really mean anything anymore. Dividing you is what they want. Don’t succumb.
Maybe a new party is not a bad idea – the GOP and the Dems are equally useless to me as an American citizen, one wants my money to spend on themselves and their criminal friends on Wall Street, and wants money to spend on an unconstitutional war in Iraq, and the other wants to globalize, socialize, and appropriate my money to further subvert the memory of the Bill of Rights by bringing in laws on hatespeech and cyberbullying – no thanks, I’ll take my chances with whoever hates me or wants to cyberbully me or my kids. We are now standing on dangerous ground, quicksand. Don’t allow anyone to open that door. I don’t like hate speech or cyberbulling any more than anyone else but you can’t pick and choose which part of free speech is protected and which is not – it doesn’t work that way. I worked too hard for the money I take home after it is picked over by the birds of prey FICA etc., to donate it WILLINGLY to these corporate swine who are now in bed with the government bureaucrats. This is a corporatocracy, that’s what this place has become. That’s who runs these people in Washington. Ugh. I’m just disgusted. The only way out that I see is Ron Paul in 2012. Don’t worry about him being older – he’s probably in better shape than a lot of the people posting and blogging their heads off on the internet all day (God Bless them for GETTING THE MESSAGE OUT!!!). RON PAUL 2012.
Ron Paul can wait til mid 2010. His name is recognizable and he does not need to start a “name recognition” campaign like some other candidates might have to do. His followers are ready to jump on the bandwagon anytime he is ready.
I love Ron Paul, but if he is not willing to condemn the corruptness’ of the GOP and leave it to lead a new constitutionally based Third Party then he should not run and we should not support him. At best in the GOP he is a distraction.
I think he would serve us best by backing a strong third party candidate “THE CONSTITUTION PARTY”. He should leave the GOP now and endorse the Constitution Party and help us select a younger, sound of mind constitutionalist who he can support.
I do not believe Ron Paul is our best choice for a course back to the constitution. He proves this by remaining loyal to the GOP.
Additionally we as a group of patriots must determine immediately that the Third party option is the best option leave the perspective parties we belong to now and endorse the new third party.
I believe the Constitution Party to be the most viable and closest in political philosophy to the founding fathers.
We then must agree to set aside differences in meaningless junk such as abortion and concentrate on constitutional government reform.
The rest will only be fixed when we have won the minds of the American people as it pertains to self governance and the constitution.
None of it can be achieved as long as our loyalties are held by corrupted parties intent on power, regional, and world government.
Thumbs up on the new party. As for a younger, sound of mind candidate…couldn’t agree less.
I believe that Ron Paul is the best hope we have of restoring our Constitutional Democracy. Whatever way he decides to announce and whether third party or Republican, I think he can and should definitely run and must win.
There is noone of any age who is his equal. That is my position. Maybe we should all consider an appropriate vice president to be his running mate, although Congressman and future President Paul will surely make the right decision, with guidance by a Higher Calling, which I believe he is quite in tune with.
I feel that the Republican Party is ready and willing to accept him as their representative, and this is based on my careful study of clips from both Fox News and CNN, where major newscasters let it be known that they did not appreciate the way the last election was rigged. Ron Paul was registering thirty percent of the popular vote while it was still an open debate, with six candidates on the podiums.
With his common sense and truth speaking, his knowledge about the economy and foreign policy, and his complete comprehension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, we would be short-sighted to want him to sit on the side-lines, supporting some newer, and undoubtedly lesser version of himself. Wake up. Ron Paul is it, and I say that being a reluctant Democrat, really a progressive, who has been looking for someone like Dr. Paul to support for many years.
Who says that Republicans cannot be progressives, cannot be libertarians, cannot be other than Neo-Con power trippers.
I think the younger person who is so gifted and astute should work for Dr. Paul’s candidacy, and maybe when Representative Paul becomes our next President, God and Country Willing, that person may serve as vice president, communications director or take a position in President Paul’s newly-formed Cabinet.
Our country future is very dimmed and its not looking any sign of relief. We need a man like Ron Paul who stood upon the test of time, his voting record prove it and he is not talking baloney either. Were sinking down so fast and people did not care what direction our country will go. God ordained us to occupy until he come and we need to abide by it or else we suffer the consequences. We have a lot of issues to worry about like immorality, abortion, our economy, our enemy is in our midts and the new administration are contributing worst than ever. Our government is geting bigger and bigger and theres nothing stopping them because we give them freedom to do so. What a shame in the eyes of god wht is happening to this country. I hope and pray Ron Paul would win in 2012.
Having run for political office, I learned a few things myself. If Ron Paul is seriously considering another run for president, and he wants to do it right, then he needs to build an organization that will start working for him when the time comes. He needs to build a database of as many people as possible who will work for him the day of the election, building a group large enough to have one person per polling location across America.
And quite frankly, his effort in regard to the FED is noble, but a bit of a joke. If one truly understands WHO runs the FED, he is wasting his time. The real power brokers will never let him get to first base. Better to focus on the things you can do.
another short note on Rons election run. I wouldn’t come out too soon either, as that just gives the opposition too much time to dig up or make up dirt on him. I think 6mos. prior gives him all the time he’d need, especially after the last run he had and sucess he had on the money raised throug the internet.
Ya just have to catch the crooks with their pants down and not give them time or opportunity to do the damage.
Good luck to him again. I do agree with most of his positions. My concern with our election procedures is still present. The Dems and Repb. have the election commission stacked against anyone else getting into the fray. The biggest threat and Rons best shot again is the internet. Just like Irans battling the PEOPLE by trying to keep the info from getting out into the world using the internet.
On top of that, you have the true source of power running the show here and most of the world, the New World Order guys, that pulled Obama out of the hat. These guys are the true source of our problems, and Ron knows it too.
So the practice of deception will just go on. We can think we’re really electing someone who will change the world and protect us, but the deal is in. We’re not running the show anymore like our founding fathers gave us. The Military/Industrial Complex has almost completed their agenda. Read the history of how the Socialist took over the banks, industries, schools, gun control, ect., and you’ll see our country headed the same way.
So don’t be fooled into thinking our countries elections are really a true view or not designed to direct us into their alignment of views for our future.
Rons a great patriot, no doubt about it. But short of a revolution, IT AIN’T GOING TO HAPPEN.
waiting to sign up,
Robert, you are absolutely correct. It never ceases to amaze me how so many are hypnotized by the media. We have ABSOLUTELY no allies in ANY of the news stations. It’s nothing but a “Dog and Pony” show. It doesn’t matter if you step in Dog S***, or Horse S***. You still have it all over your shoes. They will never support, or even give creedence to a candidate that truly has the best interest of the people at heart. Another thing that scares the bejeesus out of the powers that be is the fact that there is no personal, or political dirt to dig up on Dr Paul. This is why the media tried to ignore him in the last election in spite of his poll numbers. I fear that if he does gain the necessary support from the people he will be threatened. As a man of principal, I believe he would stand his ground. In which case they will have to make good their threat. Who remembers what they did to Perot? He knuckled under, then returned to the race after it was too late.
You speak of the Military/Industrial complex. Don’t you just love the way they show us all of the new high tech weaponry…robotics, autonomous killing machines under the guise of “keeping our guys out of harm’s way”. We already have the most effective fighting force on the planet. These machines can be run from thousands of miles away by one person that can program multiple systems at one time. My question is “What is their real motive?” If they succeed in “Sanitizing” war they will be quick to wield these new machines…on ANYONE…including us.
War is SUPPOSED to be brutal, cruel, and dangerous. It keeps leaders from using their power irresponsibly. The NWO has a new plan. World populace subjugation. That’s their real goal. I am usually an optimist, but these days it’s getting harder to be so.
Sold out politicians and elitists ARE assisted by the media sellouts like Glenn Beck. One of my favoritie examples is his recent mention of FEMA camps and how concerned he was. Later that day he returns and kind of says that he needs to do more research on the matter and will be back to report on the issue, and was never heard from again. People like Sean Hannity also – interviewing Ron Paul but won’t let him speak, just keep on shouting in his face “So you ARE SAYING that America IS TO BLAME for 9/11!!?!?!?!?” I really thought RP should have just got up and walked away. This is why I WATCH NO NEWS unless I search for it myself. EVERYONE is bought and paid for. Sorry if I sound like a cynic, but I guess I have really turned into one. More than anything, I want Ron Paul to get elected so he can fix this place, or take it back to where it once was. It’s kind of pathetic that there really is only one person who has consistently demonstrated trustworthiness over the past 20 years who adheres to his original ideals. Countless, I mean you can’t even count them anymore, politicians can be found denying he or she ever said this or that and then you can google them SAYING WHAT THEY SAID THEY NEVER SAID. And they are doing it with a boldfaced attitude, like they believe it themselves. “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act” and RP is the leader of the revolution!!
I would love for Dr. Paul to run again in 2012. I just hope he will have that opportunity again, because with where we are headed as a nation he may not get another chance.
If the sold-out politicians and the group of elitists pulling their strings get their way, there won’t be any more elections. I think the international bankers are tired of playing the charades and the game is just about up honestly. What we’ve had as elections are a joke, and when you throw the darling propagandized media into the mix it’s a recipe for disaster.
At the rate Obama continues to sell out on this once great nation, there won’t be a US dollar. It will truly be under the grace of God if there is even a US in 2012.
But if by some miracle there are still elections in 2012, then I think Dr. Paul should wait until the last possible minute to announce his candidacy, and hire the BEST body guards available, because his chances of winning will be greatly multiplied and there will be people in high places with much to lose just waiting to get a hold of him.
Dawn, spoken like a true patriot. There will be a 2012 and a Ron Paul as our President IF we the people (you and me) keep waking people up. That is what will make it happen. Yes the country is over, yes the paid bloggers are worse than graffitti on this site. “They” are paid to destroy our future, and the puppet masters that pay them want 80% of us dead. Funny the paid bloggers will suffer the same fate as those of us that fight them. They are already sold out. I liken them to the evil filth that pushed the Zyklon cannisters through the openings in the ceilings of the death chambers in Nazi Germany. They have to know what they are doing, so they are taking part in the genocide that is unraveling today. They get a sick twisted thrill knowing that they are paid to play their knife in the back games. They are the kind of people that get their fun from screwing others over without their target knowing who got them. What they don’t know is they will suffer the same fate if We the People lose. I listen to the fraud called Glenn Beck and I see Benedict Arnold. The kind of people acting like they are our friends but are actually screwing us over nauseates me. Obama either is under seige, or he is a traitor to our country and freedoms. We have a chance because of people like you and Ron Paul.
William, Thank you for your encouraging reply. I spend every opportunity I have waking people up, I am a certifiable blog-a-holic now, thanks to this crazy regime and the evils committed by the last one. I make flyers off my PC and hand them out at TEA parties; extolling the virtues upheld by true patriots like Dr. Paul.
I’ve e-mailed my congressman, Bill Foster too many times to count, until he finally sent me 2 letters explaining that he would not support HR 1207. At that point I gave up on him. There is NO reason whatsoever why any congressman elected by the people would not want the people to see where their money goes.Unless of course there is something in it for HIMSELF!
Every day I hear how Obama spends hundreds of billions of our future taxes to support the likes of the IMF, Israel and Gaza. I read of the GIVE act and what this will mean for our constitutional rights. I read of the biological warfare covertly thrust-ed upon us by big-pharma and covered up by the FDA, WHO, and others. It is difficult to keep up with all the outright tyrannical deeds done to us on a daily basis. Obama’s group is moving like warriors to completely destroy this nation.
But people like you and others who truly care about freedom add a glimmer of hope in my darkest hours.
Pardon my naivety but, I have never heard of paid bloggers. I suppose it’s possible, but I cannot imagine how anyone so diabolical could sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror. Are you sure of this? If so, who would hire them?
This is a bit new to me, and it would explain some of the inciters on my blog site, SodaHead.
Yes William, the paid bloggers will be of the first, along with the pansy journalists, politicians, dissenters, homosexuals and Illegal aliens to get the hatchet when the whip comes down.
They are what is called useful idiots!
You con have all the medium of exchange in the world. But I does not have any value what so ever unless someone is willing to do something for it.
I think he should wait until right after the 2010 Senate/House elections. That will be an indicator of the people’s feelings about HUSSEIN’S reign of socialists. If the Republicans gain either side of the aisle things will be different. BHO is deftly making a mess of things, and even some of the Dems are starting to distance themselves from him. If the Socialists keep both sides of the House Dr Paul will be forced to start a third party. Since the “Two Party” system is in reality a sham I believe a viable third party candidate can make it. Has everyone forgotten that they used to be one party…The Democrat/Republicans. When the Federalist party folded they split. They have been bouncing power back and forth like a ping-pong ball ever since, both heading for the same thing…total government control. By the way…only two Presidents have ever taken the same stance as BHO towards Israel. Peanut Carter, and GHW Bush. What do they have in common…ONE TERMERS. The only way ANYONE who isn’t in the “Bloodline” can make it to the White House is by a Vast public outcry for Change, REAL change…not the hopey-changey scam that they have foisted upon us now. John McCain was never meant to be pres. He was just a shill. Hussein’s just an acceleration of the Bush Doctrine.
Please ‘REMOVE’ me from the ‘Up Date’ list. I misunderstude, I thought that it was for ‘Comments’ on ‘MY’ comment
http://www.prayforpaul.com/prayers.html
Well, folks, unless he runs we better pick another conservative and I hope Paul tells us who it should be. As for me I think the grass roots movement momentum should be kept up so that we have every voter covered underground. Don’t announce until the last possible moment to keep the media in the dark and no adversary to poke up his head in the last minutes. He could do a lot more ground work like he is doing if he keeps the opposition in the dark. We could all agree to do a write in if all else fails. United we stand – divided we fall. There is power here and if we use it right I think the God of this nation will be behind it. Unless of course, He has other ideas. I saw the power of united prayer work miracles before and it is more powerful than water.
If each one of us commit today to “educate” our family and our neighbors, we could cover the whole nation. Buy the t-shirts, hold cottage meetings, pass around the copies of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence (which I carry in my purse) and get people talking about it. My neighbor got excited but showed no interest in what I had to say until B.O. got in the White House and now she is all for a house cleaning. No joke! She alone has covered her family and her church members and they hold regular meetings every week. And on Sunday after church, too. Let’s go for it, no matter the senario! Let’s just simply do it! It is our right and our privilege and no one should dictate differently. Check out the Declaration again just in case you’ve forgotten what it says. Opps, wait a minute, let me get it.
You remember how it starts? WHEN in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another. . . . . . .and down the page it continues…..Experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves. . . . does this sound familiar, true? …..next page
But when a long train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism (PAY ATTENTION NOW) it is their right, it is their duty to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. . . . . . . . and much more. Get it read it often and share it with those who need to be convinced. Now set a guard up to protect the original documents because that will be next on the agenda to overthrow our Founding Fathers. Watch for terrorist to bomb those papers. We are the new generation of Minute Men and we need to resolve to give life, liberty and all we possess to pass this Constitution down to our own children and grandchildren and on and on for generations to come. FREEDOM was never free. It came at great cost, great sacrifice. Are we ready? Are we able? Are we willing?
I think 2009 would be too early because if the economy improves, people will give credit to Obama and his fellow socialists.
Maybe sometime in the summer of 2010 if the recession lasts until then. If the recession ends then, wait until 2011. Due to the ignorance and indifference of most voters, they give credit to anyone in office if the economy improves even if they propose more government regulation.
The Oracle Of Omaha says that you don’t need to worry about the economy getting better, anytime soon.

Ron Paul needs to plan it just right. We need enough time to get this guy out there and be known . A lot of people don`t know him. He`s by far the best candidate and able to fight for our rights. The next John F Kennedy ! As long as he is on the ballot is all I want ,the rest is up to all of us to help educate others around us to do the research and support him. He is the only one that supporting our rights and hes an economic genius . Go RON PAUL!!! 2012
Unbelievable!!
The man still works out and rides his bike daily.
The man works 12-14 hours a day for his country.
He’ll be around for another 15-20 years.
It will be a guiltful shame if we don’t have him at the top while he is here.
There are a few younger possibilities in the wings, but they are not ready. We already have a candidate tempered by battle.
His name is Dr. Ron Paul, from the great state of Texas.
I agree with David- he’s too old! He’ll be 77 in 2012.
I would love to see him as Prez, and geez, the GOP should consider him; they’re such a mess right now.
But it’s just reality that he’ll be seen as too risky because of his age. On TV during the LAST election he looked ancient, more so than McCain.
The other 95% of Americans (who vote but do not understand Economics 101 or have any idea what individual freedom actually means) won’t be open to him.
Where’s his successor?
Is there ANYONE else out there (a bit younger) who’s as smart, articulate, consistent, honorable and unapologetic as he is and can take up the mantle? Because if not, we’re in trouble.
I wonder what the political landscape will look like in 2012. By that time the country will be so messed up, someone like Ron Paul might actually be heard.
You obviously are mistakenly comparing Ron Paul to ordinary people because Ron Paul is a superhero! I personally have some insight into this. I met Ron Paul at a breakfast in Salt Lake and later that same day at a dinner where he spoke into the late night. He had amazing energy. Pauses for breaths between long sentences were imperceptible. His brilliance came through without having had much rest. His staff said his schedule was like that for the previous four days and he had gone without much sleep. Try to find even a teenager who can do that! But, I personally have additional insights into very rare phenomenal good health and fitness because I also have that gift from our Creator and that is another factor as it sometimes comes with Divine protection. I know that our nation’s founding was impossible. That it happened doesn’t take away from it being impossible because miracles were necessary. George Washington was protected from death many times. Similarly, our duties to pass on our United States of America complete with our Constitution intact to our posterity continues. Perhaps those who are key players to making what may again seem impossible will be similarly blessed with gifts from our Creator to make that possible. I wonder what important thing I am to do that might be a very long time from now since my health is amazing for being just 22 years younger than Ron Paul and I still plan to have a large family when I grow up and I say that seriously (for the right young lady Ron Paul supporter…). At seventeen, I was a bicycle racer and today I am stronger and faster than I ever was. Just playing around in non-races called “events,” I was able to race with the world’s best professional racers and be in the breakaways ahead of most of them yet without dedicating my life to it which is what it takes for them. Sometimes people have natural abilities and Ron Paul is certainly one who does. He has a clear mind and is very articulate and resists all of the traps set up for him, so how can he be old?
Ronald H Levine
Sandy, Utah
We are not criticizing Ron Paul. He is an intelligent National Hero. We are talking about a philosophy of government that we would like to see empowered. If you, Mr. Levine, are just an admirer of the ‘Cult of Personality’ then you are not worrying about the future of America. We, who care about the future of America (and the world) must get a leader with the charisma and strength to be with us for the next 25 years! It is Ron Paul’s duty to realize his limitations and help annoint a future leader for ‘his’ Movement. I hope Ron Paul sees this (and is not just an egomaniacal re-cast of Joseph Stalin).
It’s Ron Paul or nothing.
I think Ron will be to old. Look at McCain, he was too old to be elected amongst a lot of other things with which I disagreed. Ron should continue doing what he is doing, chipping away at the Federal Reserve. I think any politician who does not support auditing the Fed must be getting a kickback. I wholeheartedly support Ron, but he must turn the candidacy over to someone else who is likeminded.
McCain couldn’t be elected because of the Republican Party, George Bush, the ‘war’, the economy, his own cluelessness, and on and on. His age was of little consequence.
We are not voting for Student Council President.
Ageism is a virus.
I think Congressman Paul should continue doing exactly what he’s doing right now. Chipping away at the Federal Reserve. Which in turn will make more people aware.
Tell Ron Paul to save his money and withdraw from even thinking about running for President. He should find a candidate who espouses the same philosophy, but is (1)Young, (2) Handsome, (3) has charisma (4) has a good speaking voice (not the whine of Paul). Maybe a carefully chosen candidate, with the qualities Ron Paul lacks, could propel the (Libertarian) philosophy of Ron Paul forward. If Paul continues covet the Presidency then all is lost for our true cause!
This kind of thinking is what got Obama elected.
Ageism is a virus.
unless something is done soon, this administration will distroy our way of life. I am all for Ron Paul, wish his foreigh policy was a little better, but we really need his infulence and leadership to straighten up this mess we are in. STOP the FED is my motto or at least expose it so people can understand.
Gary
i like most of ron pauls ideas except he doesnt believe anything but terrorist were responsible for 911? he seems closed minded about it and thats a concern..most americans dont agree with that assumption .!As far as running for president, we as a nation should more concerned about doing something about our problems now and hopefully we will have an election in 4yrs.? I believe that our economic problems are much worse than press reports..its like the unemployment numbers, what about all the people who have run out of benifits and are not in the unemployment numbers, but there still unemployed., how many our truly unemployed? All across this country things are in dismal economic state of course except the oil industry keeps on filling there pockets. wheres the main oil industry located texas, who has the poorest health care for employees Texas! greed greed greed thats americans biggest problem! What ever happened to honor and people who truly cant be bought, who truly work for the people and express the opinions of the majority instead of their self serving agendas.
As far as I see it, social networking sites are where the boon of votes lie for the esteemed Dr. Paul, and could possibly get him elected. Its UNTAPPED.
All we must do on every single one of our Facebook, Twitter, DiggIt, etc. accounts is say some form of the following:
“Vote Ron Paul. Do it Now. Pass it along to infinity. Promise to vote and type and change the world by putting this man in a postion where he can fix what needs fixing.”
“Give someone who actually wants to fix it a chance.”
Regarding conspiracy theories – many of us know that there is a great deal of truth and credibility to many of the theories regarding the illuminati, 9/11, etc., but previous poster are correct in that they CANNOT be made a part of a Ron Paul 2012 platform because the masses just can’t handle that stuff. The campaign needs to stay focused on core issues that affect our society as a whole like our foreign policy, the Fed, health care, our borders, education etc. That being said, I hope that a group of people continue to work to track and unmask the various entities behind the many conspiracy theory related groups because as Ron Paul gains in momentum, which I hope and pray he does, THEY will be coming at him and we need to be prepared!
People need to wake up!!! We’ve seen Obamas version of “change”
Ron Paul in 2012.
He should run right away. I am an Obama supporter. The sooner and more completely the radical fringe takes full control of the Republican Party, the better it will be for us Dems.
DC Palmer:
Why don’t you get on Obama’s website and stop taking up valuable space here. Radical Fringe? Maybe it IS Radical to have a man with integrity in the White House, as he has been in Congress for the last 10 terms. Who does what he said he would do. Obama, who said he was looking to get rid of lobbyists having so much influence on policy, hired former Raytheon lobbyist. And he KEPT Bob Gates (ostensibly till he found someone else…. yeah right. Come on!!!! Geithner? Former Head of the Fed???? And a Robert Rubin protege? Oh, yeah, I’m an Obama supporter. I support lies, deceit, and the total opposite of doing what I pledged to do. But I guess you wouldn’t know about that since you aren’t looking out for the Constitution and don’t care about it’s violation. Maybe universal healthcare is more important to you. Well, I can tell you that you won’t have to worry about that when you are struggling to feed yourself. Maybe Obama will send troops into Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia under a UN peacekeeping resolution. We’ve seen that the last president didn’t need Congress, why should this one bother? It’s just a formality anyway. These people have their agenda. And Obama’s on board – he’s bought and paid for. So don’t worry about “us Dems” because you won’t have to worry when the two-party system is eventually dissolved, just like the Constitution. See you in the not-so-distant future in the NAU!
Yea those paulites are just the loony fringe.
Sound Money?
Non-interventionist Foreign Policy?
States Rights?
Smaller Government?
Sound Medicine?
And they want to follow The Constitution? Who the hell do they think they are?
I hope Dr. Paul runs in 2012 and the sooner he anounces his candidacy the sooner I can go to work for him and his cause. I am 56 years old and this is the first person who has gotten my political interest in over 30 years. He is a clear thinker who in my opinion can turn this country around. He seems not to be afraid to ask tough questions and get to the bottom of an answer instead of a “political palatable” answer to appease the voters and keep them satiated. I do believe that Dr. Paul is the last hope in my lifetime in returning this government to what it once was… of the people, for the people, by the people. I beseech you Dr. Paul to anounce your candidacy and I will recruit and work as hard as I can to make you my next president.
About a month after we audit the fed!
I support Senator Ron Paul’s views 100%. Do not announce your plans to run for President too early. The liberal press and progressives will try to destroy you politically. Let them destroy themselves first. They are doing that now. Americas must wake up and get the right information. Time will come. This love affair with King Obama will not last forever.
Elect Ron Paul – Put America Back On The Gold Standard
We can all go to DisneyLand!
How can one go about woo-ing the mainstream media to let Dr Paul actually run? Look at what they DID to him before.
Also, we must look at what scared anyone away from voting for him in the first place. Although I was totally for him for 2008,my own daughter was very against him because she feared total collapse of our country to get it rebuilt the way it should be. She doesn’t realize that is happening already at the expense of her children.
THOSE are the type of people we must get on board. Ron Paul supporters worked their hearts out. We must ‘get to’ those that can be swayed but don’t understand. And we must repeat the messages over and over.
Maybe late night infomercials of Congressman Paul’s stands on the issues. He already has plenty of video footage that he can play so as to not remove him from his important work as a Congressman. He probably has some money left over from his last run to kick off the shows and then see if anyone new wants to support his campaign in addition to the die hard supporters. In these infomercials HE can ask the viewers what THEY would want with regard to his running and if they wanted to donate to the cause.
I think Dr. Paul knows when the time is ripe. Campaigning for president seems to me a very rigorous effort. The Honorable Ron Paul with his past experiences will know the timing of his announcement.
As he says “I will leave you alone if I am president”, I think we need to not push him at this time.
Government is essentially the negation of liberty,
Jim
We must approach this carefully and strategically.
I don’t think the announcement should be immediate.
In the last election the media conspired to lock out Dr. Paul. Think about it; Ron Paul led a rally of over a thousand people just across the river from the Republican Convention and received very little coverage.
You would think that the liberal side of the media would have relished the division, but instead suppressed coverage.
Why?
The only viable answer is very disturbing: the media is controlled – and they do not want Dr. Paul’s message to get out.
The media have attempted to portray Dr. Paul as a nut and a bigot. They and both parties dismissed him as a fringe candidate. Unfortunately, they succeeded to an extent.
On the other hand, the collective and bi-partisan effort against Dr. Paul shows that he is regarded as a threat. This is good, but it makes things difficult.
We must not underestimate their ability and resolve to discredit and bury Dr. Paul’s platform.
If Dr. Paul announces now, it will give everyone time to formulate a strategy against him. He must stay under the election radar, but still get his message out. If he becomes an immediate threat, he will be blocked from coverage and silenced.
A better strategy would be to show no interest in the next election and concentrate on getting Dr. Paul heard. His staff should work hard to get him booked as a regular commentator on CNN. He should also aim for MSNBC and FOX, but know that they are hostile territory. His goal with those highly biased networks should be to drop sleeper arguments and remain non-threatening so he will be invited back.
Lou Dobbs should be pressured into covering Ron Paul. His own ambitions may explain his bewildering lack of coverage and support for Dr. Paul. But, Lou Dobb’s show would be a very good vehicle for Dr. Paul’s message.
The pre-announcement goal needs to be threefold:
1- Make Ron Paul and his message well known and understood by the average middleclass American.
2- Give out lots of information about Dr Paul and his platform. While most politicians play it close to the vest and talk of transparency, Dr. Paul must be the opposite and pour it out in every format possible.
3- Aggressive Grassroots support – write to the News networks and shows like Lou Dobbs and McLaughlin Group and pressure them to include Dr. Paul. Pressure companies, that may work against Ron Paul, to support Dr. Paul and threaten boycotts of their products among his supporters. Flood message boards with positive Ron Paul messages (without sounding cult-like) and remind people of how Dr. Paul was on top of this financial crisis before anyone. Create many support websites so that on any issue, Ron Paul’s position will Google to the top. And on those websites work to discredit his opponents and attack their counter arguments ( make sure you know his positions first).
If after that effort, Dr. Paul is not a positive household name, then we will have saved him the trouble and expense of running.
But, I believe that if he can sell just the message first and then throw his hat into the ring before anyone can usurp that message, then I think he will have a fighting chance.
‘Think about it; Ron Paul led a rally of over a thousand people just across the river from the Republican Convention.’
My fellow patriot, take a look at the crowd in this video.
I think you will see 10,000+.
One rally, one city. This man could hold 50 of these around the country, and have the same kind of crowds at all.
The seeds of liberty must simply be watered. It is obvious that they have been planted.

I was there.
oops, did I forget the link?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dqb_akUuVJg&feature=related
I was trying to get over to the Rage Against the Machine concert..
All the more reason to be concerned about the lack of coverage:
10,000 people and only a few quick mentions in mainstream media .
That shows you what kind of machine we are up against. Don’t let your enthusiasm cloud the obvious – the odds are against him.
My enthusiasm will never be watered-down by the so-called ‘obvious’.
The ‘obvious’ is not some natural law.
The only question is, is it an impossibility?
I think the date should be dynamic and set around a specific occurrence. In 2010 there is going to be a lot of problems in the States if this continues and when Obama’s god like glow stops shinning and excuses no longer cover his irrationality, Ron Paul should step in and try to explain WHY. Hopefully the strong individuals in this country will wake up then.
Don’t announce until mid/late 2010. Wait until the sheeple realize the economy isn’t getting better. With stagflation and unemployment raging, maybe they’ll realize its time to elect real change rather than Socialism.
Dear Dr. Paul,
I am not sure when you should officially announce your candidacy for president 2012, but I am officially campaigning and telling everyone I know/can about your assumed future run for the White House already. It’s kind of funny, this past Sunday I was telling my parents about you on father’s day. My mother asked, “Didn’t you tell me about Obama?” and I replied “Yeah, mom but he lied about everything he promised on the campaign trail; Dr. Paul is principled.” 2012 will be the first year my family votes for a Republican. I’ve been also telling people about your policies and candidacy and my my liberal friends, still enamored by Obama’s brand of neoliberalism, tell me “Ron Paul is a sexist and a homophobe.” This is ironic because I am both a woman and queer. Don’t worry, I let these grossly misinformed friends know that you are a baby doctor and believe rights are endowed because one is an individual, not because one is a man, woman, straight, gay, white, black, or whatever group of people.
I’m really excited for your candidacy and I regret I wasted my time and vote of Barack Obama last fall. Let me know what I can do. I would volunteer to do anything to help your campaign.
God bless and good luck.

Ron Paul 2012
What if we focused on some program to support financial education for everybody. If people, especially young people, understood how money works, maybe the light bulb would go off.
http://www.conspiracyoftherich.com by Robert T. Kiyosaki is currently being written and you can participate for free. He endorses Mr. Paul, that is how I knew to look him up.
Maybe if we looked a Germany once again, and how a sane population was converted to gross inhumanity, then maybe the light bulb would go off.
Maybe if we told the story of the frog, how if put in a pan of water on the stove and slowly heated will not hop out even to death.
I really think that all of the major self help people, both Christian and secular are telling people it is all in their head. If things are good or bad is all in perception. It is teaching a denial of critical thinking, which chooses good or bad, and is making it a mind over matter choice not a choice based on measurable facts.
Ron, There is an Army of people who will hit the streets for you. Believe this! This is your time to shine, if ever there was a time. Everything you have said- has come true.
Armies and Armies of young and old alike, hitting the streets, hitting the tea parties, handing out flyers, speaking your message at work and at play, and at bars and at ballets.
Run Paul, RUN!!!!
Hey Sean,
You seem to think that there some value to a candidate being a lawyer and not an economist and you think Peter Schiff is a schmuck. You obviously need to go join in another, less intellectual conversation.
Shows how smart you are. Our country has never and would never elect an economist to be president. Peter Schiff is a jew and would never be elected for president. That is the truth. I thought this was the room seeking truth, not stupid dreams and wishes.
The president doesn’t run the economy, the economy runs itself. We want the government out of the hands of our capitalist society.
I think bill maher is the most famous libertarian who is actually in touch with reality, but I don’t think talk show hosts could win the presidency either.
Maher’s Classical Liberal bona fides are seriously in question. On a recent show he suggested States’ rights are a dead idea. WTF!?
Sadly, states rights are a dead idea. Everyone loves bill maher. You obviously don’t watch his show.
yepper …. that Constitution is such a pain, huh?
sarc
Sean, You need to either lay off of the crack, or the kool-aid. Bill Maher is a liberal socialist puke that can’t have an opposing viewpoint on his show without a host of pukes just like him to “have his back”. He’s just a carnival barker.
Ron paul was on his show. Ron paul is his hero. How can a socialist have ron paul as a hero….. maybe because he is not a socialist, he is a libertarian.
Just a fair warning, Sean is probably the most disingenous person I’ve happened upon on the net.
In other threads he’s praised Peter Schiff.
His comment didn’t seem to warrant a reply so no reply was provided. Opinions are like a-holes, everyone has one and should keep it to themselves most times.
I agree with a lot of things that Peter Schiff says and I used him to back up very distinguished points I was trying to make. That doesn’t mean I “look up” to him or think he would make a wise president.. No economist has ever been elected for president because the presidency isn’t about withholding the economy; it’s about withholding the law. That is why Lawyers always become president. I would not vote for an economist ooor a talk show host. I think Bill Maher has a voice of reason that can influence a wide variety of people so he should remain a talk show host. I think Peter Schiff makes a good economist so he should keep at what he does best.
You might as well elect Ben Bernanke as president, he’s an economist.
Simply two more posts demonstrating your complete ignorance and/or dishonesty.
Btw, the word your looking for is not “withholding” it is “upholding”. It is the job of the presidency/executive branch to UPHOLD (or enforce) the law (the constitution). Unfortunately, Obama acts in line with your word confusion. He seems to think it the the job of the presidency to withhold the law rather than enforce it.
I think that’s the most intelligent thing you have EVER said. Keep up the good work.
I was sure that he meant ‘withholding’.
lol
hahaha
thats what 10 years of lsd will do to u.
Why, did you give it up?
I thought you were still tripping.
Let me be more pointed.
Your use of the word ‘withholding’ was a bit Freudian.
Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers occur in a word. The olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh?
Your implosion is not a pretty sight.
What the media did to Ron Paul in the last election was total crap. They chose to focus on BHO. Sure the media is a ratings game but the American people deserve transparency and fairness. Get on the media blog sites and let them know their networks are going to be boycotted if there isn’t equality and an end to partiality editing the networks have become famous for.
Americans need to focus on the Constitution and dump the change philosophy. We need Ron Paul or it is goodbye America.
If Ron Paul runs there are some things that have to happen. Like others said, he must have the support of the Republicans. I think he should be working right now to try and gain support from them.
Another thing I have noticed is this; when I discuss Ron Paul with people they back off and call him a conspiracy theorist. 9-11 is one thing, but when his supporters are out there talking abour fema camps and Illuminati it completely turns people off. I’m not trying to tell you what to believe, I’m just saying keep it to your self, at least for now. I believe from talking to people this is the biggest thing hurting him. We must touch on points that wins Americans, such as Audit the Feds, Anti-War and closing the borders. Those things there people will relate too. we must begin now to change Dr Pauls image to the public if he expects to have a chance in 2012, assuming he decides to run.
Tiffany, You made reference to ‘Auditing the Fed’, however, you failed to comment on what ‘I’ said about ‘Who could be trusted to do it’. I would like to know your thoughts along these lines.
B.D.Sylvia
Your worry is only valid if the audit were done in secrecy.
If the audit is publicly accessible, it will come to light whether it is fact or fiction.
The audit should be done by the HBC.
Tiffany:
I agree with you. Although some of these things such as FEMA camps, Illuminati etc. may have truth to them or may not, “conspiracy theory” are dirty words and people should be careful because people are conditioned to the point where their eyes glaze over and they start thinking about The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Conspiracy buffs turn people off. Even if they are 100% right. Like there have never been covert plots by the extremely wealthy and powerful? And if you question any of this, the media brands you “conspiracy buff” and you are marginalized by that title. It’s a more sophisticated form of censorship, because here in the United States you can’t get thrown in jail (yet) for not parroting the accepted party lines, so they will ridicule you to shut you up. That is kind of scary. But I do agree that it DOES NO GOOD AND TURNS PEOPLE OFF, and serves no purpose to getting Ron Paul elected to the presidency in 2012. So Ron Paul supporters should NOT focus their attentions by spreading the news about those issues (Let Alex Jones worry about that stuff for now!!) because they will maybe win a couple of battles, but lose the war. And this is not a war we want to lose. If we can get this guy elected, all those things will be dealt with because Ron Paul, who will be a BUSY PRESIDENT, will see what’s coming down the pipe and IF IT IS NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION, it is NOT ON. What the American people will do when they figure out what the SPP and North American Union are really about is anyone’s guess. Take to the streets? The UN and Blackwater (Xe) are all too ready for us. FEMA camps. Yup. They are really there. Am a talking nonsense? Conspiracy? We shall see.
Ron Paul 2012!
Have you heard of the movie ‘Camp FEMA’ ?
——————————————-
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JUNE 25, 2009
[PLEASE FORWARD]
ST. LOUIS, MO (BSMG) JUNE 25, 2009 – The Patriot community’s number one shock-jock Alex Jones has officially jumped onboard the new feature film “Camp FEMA,” currently in production from producers William Lewis and Gary Franchi. Over the course of a two-day interview, Jones shared his passionate opinions on the New World Order takeover of America and the implementation of death camps in U.S. cities while also speaking to the topic of legislation enacted to keep Americans safe in a time of national emergency. “It’s all a lie,” according to Jones, with documents in hand to prove it. Producer Franchi and veteran anti-NWO filmmaker Lewis agree citing legislation highlighted in the film that will shock audiences when they learn that “continuity of government” plans do NOT include the continuity of the United States Constitution nor any of the rights enumerated and defended by our forefathers.

VR,
I have not heard of the feature film you’re referring to, but I do know who Alex Jones is. I used to live in Austin. His data seems to be sound, and his facts verifiable. That’s enough to scare the pants off of anyone with even a modicum of awareness, and common sense. I believe he would be taken more seriously however, if he would tone down his theatrics. My opinion is based mainly on nearly 60 years of living with my eyes open. I remember the Kennedy attempt to end the Fed, and his adamant desire to NOT prolong the VN war. I was young, but I remember my father saying that he (JFK) was treading on dangerous ground. Shortly after that he was assassinated. Back in the early 70’s I was fortunate to have a history professor that taught us from British, and French textbooks on American history. The fact is that this Government was truly founded By the Gentry FOR the Gentry. The vast majority of our presidents came from four family bloodlines. That is until Peanut Carter, GHWB, and the New World Order. Their goal is to wrest power from those four bloodlines for good.
They are anti-semitic…totally. They, and Cheney are thick as thieves…literally. BHO is a distant cousin of Dick Cheney. So…he will continue, and even accelerate their plan. It will take a powerful movement, a revolution to stop them. Dr Paul has been a shining example of what a public servant should be throughout his entire political career. I fear that without mass public vocal support he will never be taken seriously. He will never get media support.
Well, Ron. . . If your going to do it, DO IT NOW. You ‘Must’ get high profile backers ‘IN PLACE’ to go along with a ‘Grass Roots’ movement, without them, you have ‘No Chance’ of breaking the hold the Dem’s currently have. With all that is going on currently, it ‘Should’ all ‘Blow Up’ in their faces by the mid-term elections, but that’s not for sure, an something else, you are calling for an ‘Audit’ of the Fed, that’s fine, ‘BUT’. . . Who can be ‘TRUSTED’ to do it ?, you have made no statements on this, an I, as well as others would want to know. This should be the first thing done to promote ‘Trust’, an ‘Confidence’. The conservatives of this country are looking for someone who will lead us to victory, ‘BUT’ it ‘Can’t’ be as it has away’s been, it ‘MUST’ be ‘Trustworthy’ to the ‘Extreme’, people ( including ‘Myself’ ) are tired of ‘Lip Service’ by those who are ‘Soposed’ to represent us, this has to ‘Stop’, if the party has any chance to come back. Failing this, I myself, will be ‘Changing’ parties to the ‘Libertarians’. If you were to do all that I have mentioned, you can count on mt support in the future.
Thank You, an ‘Good Luck’ B.D. Sylvia
I would like to see Dr. Paul get more press now while Obama’s approval ratings are sliding. I think that as soon as the Fed gets audited he should announce his intention to run for president. With the foriegn relations mess, out of control spending, systematic attacks on the constitution, the highjacking of the press, not to mention the ACORN corruption and fraud, people are disgusted and watching their congressmen and representatives carefully. Dr. Paul has introduced many excellent bills and is a voice of reason in a sea of sinister stupidity. Let’s get his name out there NOW and promote his bills so when he does run, people will be more familiar with his platform. Many Americans are angry and frightened at the all too obvious agenda of this administration. I dare say when the debacle of this presidency is over, people will want and need a true patriot to put our country and our constitution back together.
The Obama effect has worn off. The “hope” and the smooth, confident, thoughtful talker that enticed Americans has faded fast. We see reality now. He’s just a continuation of the plan set in motion during the years with Bush Jr/Sr and Clinton. We know he has the same general agenda, NWO. We see our country going downhill, civil liberties being taken away, everyone’s hopes and dreams disappearing, borrowed money by the billions and trillions going into other countries when we have so many troubles mounting here at home… as the numbers increase in the national debt and as he solves nothing here at home, we are looking already for someone else to lead. It’s been more oppression by overburdening us with taxes (can’t seem to pass the bills fast enough in congress), a national debt that cannot be repaid, houses in foreclosures, no troops coming home (instead more going into other countries + Iraq), lies and more lies.
The best thing about Ron Paul (and there are many) is that he is consistent!! He consistently stands for the guiding principles of the constitution and the bill of rights. He holds every bill up to the light of these two documents. And he knows our history, when we are going down the same wrong path time and again. We can rest assured he will not tell us one thing and do another!! We know that to be true of him…he’s been so patiently consistent until the rest of us catch on to the truth of what has been going on. He’s a great educator…and so many need their eyes opened. Once the audit of the FED is performed, and the FED is dissolved, that will be the time he should make his announcement…either to run or to continue serving as Senator. There is some advantage to him being Senator. He’s more free to move about and educate, not isolated and distant from everyone in a white house (with bad energy in it). Everyone that goes there seems to change.
He needs to make more videos on youtube to get the word out that he will run in 2012 People will have to spread the word about him and he must let them know how he plans to help save things from going so wrong.
I think Ron Paul should announce after 1207 passes the House.
There will be a point in time that may be the more beneficial and appropriate for Ron Paul to announce his intentions in seeking the office of the President of the United States of America.
By this statement, I hope it is clear, that the current administration has a large following. From the inconstant ideologies the current administration has it will stump it’s collective toe and present an opportunity to offer an alternative.
Basically, to which I believe all will agree, the real tax-paying part of the U.S.A., the country is not moving in a direction most working folks are comfortable with. That being said, it is only a matter of time before an opportunity of significant importance presents itself.
That point will be the best time to offer an alternative.
Won’t be long now.
Thanks for asking.
the way i see it; the sooner the better, unless he feels that he is just not up for it.
I think that he should have wreaked havoc at the 2008 GOP Convention like he said he was after the Republicans treated him so badly. If he does that in 2012, I’ll vote for him.
It’s all about timing. Dr. Paul is gaining ground with the mainstream now, but I still think it is too soon. The economy is on the way down fast, but it hasn’t hit bottom, yet. There are still enough deceived sheep out there who believe it is going to pick up. Those people still aren’t ready for Dr. Paul. There are still too many people out there who want something for nothing and like the idea of government taking care of them. They need to see the failure of big government (which won’t be long) before they are ready for Dr. Paul. However, we simply didn’t have enough time last time, so I don’t think it should be any later than next fall. If he is choosing to run, he needs to spend the time now putting together the absolute best campaign team he can find so he can start with a bang from day one with no hiccups like last time. If he is choosing not to run, I think it would be good for him to begin priming someone in his stead–someone who is as close to his libertarian-republican-Constitutional views as possible. This way he can decline running and endorse someone else at the same time. He was too late at vocalizing his support for Baldwin in 2008 and so Paul’s faithful following went in too many directions. We need to be able to stand behind someone collectively from day one. Hopefully it will be the Good Doctor himself. I must say, though, that if Dr. Paul does decide to run, I think he should go all the way. He needs to commit to running as an independent should he fail to win the Republican primary. In that case, it may mean he has to run as an independent representative in his own district.
The economy was on its way down five years ago, but we are paying half for gas what we were last year at this time, and the economy is recovering slowly. For such a lousy economy, I’m seeing people spend their money at businesses left amd right, and just about everyone I know is self-employed.
What you need to do is help yourself. The president can’t do it alone. It is time for us to come together as a nation and stop pointing fingers.
He needs to help himself? What does that mean?
Did he say he was struggling financially or in poor health?
If all you see is people spending money left and right then you live in a bubble, a small one. In my working-class neighborhood the unemployment rate is upwards of 20%.
The seniors on limited income cannot afford to run their a/c because of the continually rising price of groceries and fuel, neither of which are included in the CPI or the yearly COL increases.
If you really believe that the economy is improving then you are in for a rude awakening. The real shit has not even hit the fan, yet.
Snooze On, Brother Haley
John,
You’re seeing a rise in self-employment not because the economy is rebounding, but because unemployment is over 9%, the highest it has been since the early 1980’s! When people lose their jobs and can’t find another, they pull up their bootstraps and make a way for themselves. And I cheer them on. Hard-working people who have always helped themselves will continue to help themselves. Hard working people who help themselves is what built America and made it great. The problem is, those who have always helped themselves are now having to help themselves and those who don’t, too, thanks to Bush and Obama.
A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama. Paul has zero chance of winning and will only take votes away from the Republican candidate who actually has a good chance of winning. A second term for Barack will KILL the USA forever! Nothing against paul but good grief what a pathetic showing he made in 2008.
Pathetic showing? You really do need to turn off the TV.
How many Republican candidates went down before Dr. Paul?
Without the help of the Republican Party or the media (in fact, both went out of their way to be a hindrance), Dr. Paul gained millions of fans and knocked off all comers except for Juan McCain, the statist whore.
We started from thousands in 2006, and were millions in 2008.
In 2010, we will start with millions and have 10’s of millions in 2012.
The Republican Party and the media will work even harder to stop this train in this next round, but we will be working harder.
Go ahead and continue to vote for your Obamccain candidates, my Tennessee cousin, and we’ll continue to try and save this country.
Every other possible Republican candidate is just more of the status-quo. More war, more taxes, more government intervention into our lives.
Live Free or Die
Ron Paul 2012
JohnMemphisTN:
You must not have watched the whole debate. Ron Paul did not get emotional, like Giuliani and McCain, desperately attempting to play on OUR emotions. If you wanted to see drama, there is always movies about politics. Try Wag the Dog.
Ron Paul slaughtered all these guys like David with a slingshot. His quiet sturdy grounded truth-telling, backed up by FACTS, was a big surprise and earned him a LOT of fans. It was almost as if he was schooling these people on history, and you could tell who the more intelligent candidate was, even if he didn’t have the biggest mouth. I heard people at work the next day saying “Who IS this guy???” and perhaps more significantly, more tellingly, WHY is he being blacked-out of the media when clearly, a LOT of citizens of this country are very interested in hearing what he says? Me likee. And so do a lot of average Americans. Is it surprising that we cherish our constitution and now we see an actual truthful politician who does? Yeah, it is a long shot, I’ll admit. But there is NO DOUBT Ron Paul made a major impact, and if we surge out of our little houses and get involved in spreading the word, we can do this. Ron Paul in 2012!!!
It seems to me that being president should be open to any American. However, if what I’ve recently watched on the internet is correct, it looks like all of the world leaders in the highest power are somehow related. So I would think that the power of a president coming out from the people, assuming he is not related, would have to be a pull by the American people. If the American people had to watch on TV what I put myself through watching on the internet, like me they may have 3 or 4 days of heart palpitations and crying. Then what? Run to the mountains with food??? How long will that last???
Exposure to the real for all to see would be a good first step. It would be a really good step to ask people when is the last time they really saw a terrorist? And what proof do they have that they exist. Isn’t a paid sniper or a brainwashed cult kid easy to send on a job like that? We back things up with our emotions. Do you think any American’s would volunteer to blow up Iraq if the 9/ll thing didn’t happen?
Cock fights happen because people put two roosters together and they bump them into each other, and get them really mad, then they let them go with razors strapped on their feet. That is the same way power makes war, it bumps two countries against each other and play both sides against the middle.
It makes more sense to see that; then to believe that any of us really want to kill the other people on the Earth. After all, out of this country well meaning people have poured their own hard earned dollars into countries with war and famine; hoping to help the people in them. The deal is, I think, we never stopped to think that it was all really intentional and probably quite fixable if it was allowed to be fixed.
There are so many examples in movies of the public being lead, through media and advertising. And there is this huge positive thinking movement going on in the secular world and the church that basically tells you if it sucks to be you it is your fault because you’re walking around being negative.
I heard a comedian remark that positive thinking doesn’t work when you’ve been hit by a cement truck. Like, you can tell yourself your head is still on your body, and they aren’t sweeping your arms and legs into a sack, but that doesn’t change the fact you were just hit by a cement truck. I see the positive thinking movement being really good except for a fatal flaw, and that is, if it causes you to think it that you can fix your life by being in denial of reality, it is teaching you to believe a lie, or to brainwash yourself. Believe me, if you are dead, positive thinking stops. It is good I believe to have a genital way, but it is foolish to be in denial of what you know to be fact.
I really wish more than anything that the truth was out about this country, and that the citizens could see their rights being taken away check by check. They would be motivated to vote if they understood what they were voting for. To me it is voting for freedom, not a party. We are all starting to realize it hasn’t mattered for a long time what shingle the president hung on the wall, it was the same agenda either way.
If we had a true knowledge of our situation we may have a shot. Americans need a leader that will make them independent again, before there is nothing to talk about and the option is gone forever.
Not only should he announce immediately but he should lead the REVOLUTION. I want him to come with me, LIBERTY as I lead the revolution from Seattle, WA to NYC this summer 40Days/40Cities

The Rothschilds, Rockefellars and international bankers created the Federal Reserve on worthless pieces of paper for manipulative control. This is the greatest SCAM in history and the whole world is their slave. It is past time to revolt! Obama, who like the graymen who control him, is innately divine and could change everything. So far he has not. The bottomline problem is the altered ego. That part of all of us which is full of fear and just holds on to the personality image. This image is the anti-Christ, the devil, the part of us which hates instead of loves, which wars instead of forgives and which controls instead of allows.
The male altered ego is the gravest problem in our world today. The male image of power and control with qualities of competition and greed is why we have world wide economic problems, famines and war. We must recognize this altered state in ourselves and change it back to our spiritual, loving, divine nature.
The 13 families and international bankers control the whole world because of their altered egos and lust for ultimate power – to be sovereign of the entire world! (One Whole Government with the elites in control)
You think King George of England was reason to cause a revolution….we have a much greater reason today. Rothschild is worth at least 100 trillion and Rockefellars 10 trillion. How did they acquire such wealth? They stole it with their SCAM of the central banks (Federal Reserve) from all the rest of us. I think they should pay the money back…don’t you? President McKinley tried to stop the Federal Reserve – he was killed. Lincoln tried to say no – he was killed. Kennedy tried to say no – he was killed. Even Ronald Reagan tried – he was called a lame duck and drugged. This evil in our world must be confronted and stopped.
Our dear Mother Earth is dying from the greed of the male altered ego and she will heal herself. She has already started (Katrina). These evil people think they will be safe from her in their undergrounds …no way. She has consciousness and they will die first.
Governments are all controlled so the hope is in the people…another revolution is necessary. Our federal government is owned by international bankers. Stop paying them money….that may bring them down.
Without question, in my humble opinion,
Ron Paul should lead a change over of the House of Representatives.
Forget about President. Control the House. Speaker Paul?
Mr. Paul
I feel that no time should be wasted in preserving our freedoms. The main stream media has the wind knocked out of them. Independent sources of news gathering are gaining readers and listeners. Americans now more than ever will know who you are. Iam sure that any rallies that you couls attend would gather hundreds of thousands. Now is when we need a voice that rings true. I feel the longer we wait, the weaker our country will become. God Bless you Ron Paul and Gos Bless America!!

Announcing is not a “when” it is an elaborate game plan.
Be in the mix of events from early on, as Ron Paul is.
Be right on the subjects. As Ron Paul is.
Do it in such a way as to not appear as a “crazy”.
Make clear and solid arguments that resonate with the American people.
He cannot fail if people can clearly see that what he is saying is true and that we can make a difference in the way our country is being ran.
I think that the media is against Paul.
Past our vote, what have we got? Writing our reps?
My rep’s responses are always that they appreciate my concern and will keep it in mind.
They have their own agenda.
Get Paul in and maybe the American people can take America back.
Don’t give up on writing Rep’s

Dear Friend,
I just wanted you to know that I am now a cosponsor of the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. This bill was authored by Congressman Ron Paul of Texas.
The bill directs the Controller General to complete, before the end of 2010, an audit of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve Banks.
I would like to invite you to a Town Hall Meeting at Reseda High School (18230 Kittridge Street, north of Victory Blvd. and east of Reseda Blvd.) on June 28th from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, to discuss this issue as well as other important subjects, including the economy, health care, education, Social Security, and foreign policy. My constituent services staff will be available to help you deal with federal agencies.
Thank you for corresponding with me earlier regarding the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. Your letter and that of other valley residents prompted me to review the bill and its implications in depth. After this review I have determined that I should do everything possible to get this bill passed, including serving as a co-sponsor.
Very Truly Yours,
Congressman Brad Sherman
“
So glad to hear it! 240+ co-sponsors and counting. Ron Paul has been the lone voice for so long. He is excited that the time has come to hear the truth of his messages more deeply and fully, that more and more people are seeing the truth and the consistency of his position. We all need to be educators passing along what we learn as we learn.
Your country, the constitution, and all that our founding fathers fought for, is in danger.
If you know history, free men have to act, now.
How can a man sign an abortion bill, and ask for debate?
How can a Congress pass a 787 Billion Dollar Bill, without reading it?
If your business fails, how can you ask the American people to bail you out?
If my small business fails, would I ask the Federal Government to bail me out?
Hell no!
Do I have health Insurance? No.
Do I want the Federal Government to provide it for me?
Hell No!
Don’t Tread on Me!
Bob
Ron Paul for President in 2012. Bring back honesty and respect to government. Bring back respect and honesty to office.
Congressman Paul should go and meet privately with the influential talk show hosts such as Mark Levin and yes Rush and get them to see that his positions make sense and that he is The True “Conservative”! Then, get on their shows and get the word out!
I also love that he is now coming out on the health care issue. The “main stream” Republicans seem to be to afraid to come out all the way with a free market Constitutional approach to improving our medical profession. From what I hear from people I know in the medical profession I think he will get considerable support from them if his proposals become known….
I think there will be a lot of people who voted for McCain (thinking he was the only choice) in 2008 will switch there vote to Ron Paul in 2012. Most of the Republicans I talk to these days are unhappy with their Party (yet they still listen to the crazies at FOX), but they all seem to listen when I speak about the Ron Paul Movement. It just makes sense. So… the sooner the better to make the announcement.
I would fear a fizzle out in some form if candidacy was announced too soon. Case in point, Julliani, or Fred Thompson. Assuming he would run as a Republican (or would he?), we all already know where he stands, and his revolution is doing a FABULOUS job getting the word out, why start too early and chew up any $$$ that he may need closer to election? I like the silent, where-did-this-one-come-from candidates, so I would like to see him announce as close as possible to election day.
Hey folks, stop using the term liberal and conservative. Even though they still have meaning to thinking people, the terms have been hijacked by those running things, and who use them to keep the ignorant masses fighting amongst themselves. Ron Paul will need to get elected as a third party candidate because the two main parties (and the so-called liberal media) are owned by the same group of arrogant, elitist financiers.
Ron Paul in 2012 and hopefully many other candidates with similar views in congress!
If running as Republicn ,wait till the party gets desperate ,so they will be sure to back him.
I am thinking early 2011 for a public announcment. The general public has a short memory and generally lacks long term drive/focus. If you announce to early the news and excitement will fizzle out before you can centralize the push. Also, you will receive 1 day worth of media coverage, however, if you announce it when politics is a media hot topic you will gain weeks of coverage (unfortunately we need the media). I would still encourage to use this time to gather political backing and local support (EVERYWHERE), but save the formal announcement when you can get the most bang for the buck. WE NEED YOU TO WIN.
GOD bless American and Ron Paul for 2012.
You are the only decent and honest representative left in Washington. How sad and here YOU are the only one that will and does follow the Constitution.
Ron Paul is a constitutionalist and should run under the Conservative party.
The republican party is no longer conservative.
Ron Paul should also pick his VP Candidate right away.
Till this day there are people who have never heard of Ron Paul and when I show them his videos and what he stands for they always say, why haven’t I ever heard of him.
The liberal media will never give him a fair chance.
We have to get the word out now and make the name Ron Paul a household name.
A name everyone has heard of.
Even democrats that I showed the videos to, liked what he had to say.
Friends of mine whose children are serving in the Armed Forces wanted Ron Paul for president and not because he would stop the war but because he is the only Candidate that is for the preservation of our Constitution.
Dan you are correct. Don’t think for a moment that we soldiers don’t see what is happening to our country. When it all comes down, we will be fighting for our fellow American Citizen. Anyone that does not see how corrupt this government is, is blind. Our president’s are just figureheads to a bigger power. I wish Americans would wake up. (Beware though, when the unrest starts, Clinton and Bush made it so UN and Canadian soldiers can be brought in)
Hi Sarge,
thanks for your service for our Country. My late father was an Army Captain who fought on the beaches of Iwo Jima in WWII. He got shot up a little but came out just fine. Except for some really bad nightmares. He was pretty old when I was born. My Mom was half his age. LOL!
I use to ask my dad what it meant for the Military to actually “Defend The Constitution”. Defend how? I remember he wasn’t too sure about. He only knew that if anyone (even the President)were to attempt to remove the Constitution. The Military would be obligated to use all means necessary to defend it. But he did’nt go into too much detail.
Do they discuss this at all in the Military? Are there any standard procedures such as ‘Marshal Law”?
I remember seeing a poll on the internet where 93% of active members of the Military(anonymously)pledged that they would never bear arms against the American people if it were against the Constitution. Even if they were ordered to do so.
Back to the subject on hand.
Ron Paul should NOT announce any intent to run for President right now.Look at how the Liberal Media is butchering Sarah Palin for the mere possibility of her running. Paul should stay out of the Race until he has already become a well known figure to the general public.
You are right that there are many people that have never heard of or know very little about Ron Paul. My father was an elected official (local level) for his entire adult life and follows national politics closely and recently told me he has never heard of Ron Paul.
I have also run into a small number of people who have negative opinions of him because they have seen the lies put out there by opponents of freedom.
Exposure to the “real deal” is the solution!
Dr. Paul should run as the constitutionalist he is and run under the Conservative Party. The republican party is somewhat of a joke nowadays. Putting his name with it would take credibilty away from Dr. Paul among those that are not familiar with his name. Dr. Paul should not have to rebuild the republican party’s credibilty and then be expected to run.
RON PAUL IS THE ONLY WAT REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO WIN, BUT IF HE IS GOING TO CHANGE HIS TUNE LIBE OBAMA DID, I GUESS THE REAL KING MAKERS TELL HIM SOMETHING YOU NOTICE HIS HAIR TURING FROM BLACK TO GREY RIGHT AFTER THEY KNEW HE WAS GOING TO WIN. THEY MUST OF TOLD HIM SOMEH=THING THAT MADE HIM GASP, LIKE 9/11, CONSPIRACY THING WAS TRUE AND AND WHOLE ALOT MORE. AMERICA IS JUST BE BANBOZZLED BY THIS 2 PARTY SYSTEM AND IN REALITY ITS ONE THE DEMOREPROGRATES, SAME AGENDA AND SELLING OUT AMERICA FOR THE ZIONIST IDEALS, EVEN MANY GOOD JEWISH PEOPLE SEE THE BAD JEWISH PEOPLE THE ZIONIST FACIST, WHICH THE GERMANS WILL TELL YOU THERE THE ONES THAT PAID FOR HITLERS WAR MACHINE. HAVE TO MUCH OF A STANGLRHOLD ON OUR GOVERNMENT. BILL MAHERS IS RIGHT THE DEMOS WE HAVE NOW, THEY TOTALL LIED TO US, THEY ALL JUST SIGNED TO SUPPORT A WAR AMERICA DOES NOT WANT, AND WHERE IS THE CHEAP GAS, WERE ALREADY STARTING TO GET BUSHED BY THE OIL CARTEL, THE RUSSIANS , IRANIANS ALL SAY THERE IS NO SHORATAGE AND IT ALL YOUR GREEDY OIL GANDUS. IF HE DOES RUN I HOPE HE RUNS ON A DIFFERENT PARTY, THE REPUBLICANS ARE OUT OF TOUCH RACIST. RON PAUL NEEDS EVEN TO RUN A CONSTITUTIONAL INTELLECTUAL PARTY, THA MEANS IF YOU PICK HIM YOU DO HAVE A BRAIN.
BUT RON PAUL NEEDS TO NOT CHANGE NOT WAIVER AT ALL, IT SEEMS THEY GET IN THERE AND THEY DO WHAT THERE MASTERS TELL THEM, NOT WE THE PEOPLE. OBAMA END THE WAR, LIE. WHERE IS THE BUSH WAR TRIALS, AND WERE WORRIED ABOUT IRAN. OUR MEDIA IS A BUNCH OF SOLD OUT GOV GOONS
OWNED BY THE EVIL, FACIST. YOU WANT KNEW YOU HAVE TO GO TO EUROPE NEWS. RON PAUL NEEDS TO ANNOUNCE BUT A NEW PARTY AND SAME IDEAS WHICH IS GOOD, EVERYTHING HE SAID AMERICA WANTS BECAUSE AMERICA IS TIRED OF THESE SOLD OUT REPUBADEMOS SELLOUTS. WHY RON PAUL DIDN’T WIN BECUASE HE WAS CUTOUT BY OUR FACIST MEDIA, WE NEED TO START NOW ON HIS CAMPAIGN NOW. A GOOD NAME WOULD BE THE CONSTITUTIONAL INTELLECTUAL PARTY, NOBODY LIKES BE CALLED DUMB,YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
If we went to Iraq to save fair and free elections and we are already over there, why not straighten the voter fraud in IRAN too ?
Well, it wouild probably break our economy. We’d have plenty of oil but we would be vulnerable.
PRESIDENT OBAAMA’s election, birth, college, selective service document must be VERIFIED or he is a HOAX.
Maybe America could have a special election before 2012 and elect Ron Paul for President.
KTB
This freight-train of socialism has to stop, now! Before you see the same thing as in Tehran, here in the USA. Why do you think it took so long for him to get tough???
This is a power grab, Obama and the Democrats are breaking America and business’s back.
This isn’t hope and change.
America promises Opportunity, nothing else.
It is up to the individual to put forth the effort, not the government’s responsibility to garauntee it.
Bob Bowar
Feel free to use my name
If Ron Paul runs for President in 2012 – He WILL WIN! Please Run Ron – WE NEED YOU!
I want to see him in a white wig! Go RON GO!!
Announce it immediately – give us what is lacking most – HOPE!!!
Do not waste time on this, announce it right away and pass the word!
I am already working with my brother getting the message out with painting my car and his truck with infowars website and a local one as well. Would love to put Ron Paul for Pres on there to!
Revolution Now!
Dr. Paul,
I think you should not announce your run until November 2011. Just like anything else, you must play a little hard to get. Perhaps play coy and say something like “I would not run a campaign that the American people did not compel me to do so” (something that is worded better- I’m no speech writer). If you basically make it known that if you get enough supporters you will run, that would give this organization and others a meaningful purpose from now until campaign season, otherwise it’s a waiting game. Also, I don’t want the American people to tire of you too soon, you must become the star of the 2012 campaign and the symbol of hope for the Republican Party. It also wouldn’t hurt to pick a non-controversial , handsome and charming running mate; someone like Rick Santorum. This way the dumbed-down media cannot make issues out of VP candidate buffoonery (think Edwards, Biden and Palin) which distracts from the ISSUES.
Ron Paul needs to be in the public eye as a critic, a form of official opposition and an alternative candidate to the current regime. I say regime, because Obama is merely the front man who’s been well-trained in a cadence and an artificial oratory. He was set up to take the fall which will come eventually. Meanwhile, Ron Paul has been an accomplished, consistent person of integrity. He’s a known entity with no closed books or hidden agenda. The sooner he’s out there as THE declared opposition candidate, and essentially the president-in-waiting, the more likely his name recognition will work in our favor. However, Paul has to avoid getting trapped into flubs or mis-steps as numerous obstacles will be placed in his way at every step and every turn. So, the sooner Ron is OUT THERE as a more ethical, more consistent, more viable choice, the better will be the chance of more votes when the time comes. Obama’s honeymoon is already over. Soon the disenchantment will lead people to look seriously for a credible alternative that is a known person – a tried and true leader to restore the great reality of what once was. Ron — Declare Now!
Ron should run as an Independent! I would imagine that many feel as I do that we have had it with the lies of both the Republicans and the Democrats. We were led down a road by the last administration and we are being led down a road by this administration. We will be slaves to other nations if these people are not stopped and soon. They are destroying our futures and the futures of our children. Start reading up on the Council for Foreign Relations which Bush and Obamma are both members. America is being suckered! Read their charter and members list.
Let me start off by saying I am a HUGE Ron Paul fan, his beliefs are in line with 99% of mine, I’ve met with him in his office and had a wonderful conversation with him, and I truely believe he is the very best thing for this country.
With that said, I am slightly skeptical about him running in 2012. The people are DEAD asleep in this country, and I’m not sure that his ideas alone are enough to wake them. If his ideas came in the form of a charasmatic middle aged senator, governor, or business man who spoke well from the podium, then the mainstream Republicans and the Libertarian Republicans may actually be able to come together in agreement. But being on the front lines of his campaign, and being still involved in the Republican party, the divide between the old school republicans (neo-cons) and the libertarian minded republicans is just FAR to big, and I can’t ever imagine them coming over to our side to support Ron.
BUT, I would LOVE for him to run again, and I would be in full support of him if he did. He has a lot of supporters gaining traction online, such as Peter Schiff with his daily blogs and YouTube following, and Judge Napolitano with his new Freedom Watch show on Fox. That’s just enough exposure that I think he’d definitely give the neo-cons a run for their money!
We love you, Ron, and we’ll support you!
-Mike
(Everett, WA)
Doc, if you’re gonna run, announce it in mid 2010, though I think a shorter, more focused run would be better, so late 2010 or early 2011 would be best for actual campaigning. However, you need to get some grass roots going like you did before.
When you do run, put everything out there and get away from the bloody Republicans. Various polls and articles I read expressed that, if you had run as a Libertarian you would have done better. However, you can’t be timid in the least, you’re going to have to put everything on the line. We, as a nation, need you in the right place, and that’s going to mean you have to come with boldness and strength, or Americans -not to mention the rest of the world- will just see you as a whiny little man with a small voice. We, as your supporters, know better, but you’re going to have to dig to make sure the rest of the world, not just the United States, knows it.
What is the procedure for Ron to get on the ballot?
I would like to know that there still will be an America in 2012. I’d vote for you today if you could stop the craziness that is taking away the Constitution, and giving too many freedoms to the president with no public vote, and not even sometimes the vote of Congress.
I want America to stay America. Is that still possible or is it too late? Are we not America anymore? Is it quietly slipping away? I am a decedent of William Hennery Harrison who was president once, and I guess a cousin somehow of Benjamin Harrison who was president too.
I’ve cried over this country latly. I would hope America could be what I’ve always thought she was, the home of the free, the land of the brave, not the land of the endebted multitudes, the land of the slaves.
i hear u lots an im also afraid obama is sellin out this country and it constitution, even now in our lower courts poor have no rights to speak up for themselves especially in indiana, the courts just dont go by wat the constitution says, for the peple not for the rich government paid peples,
I think that he should announce ASAP but then back away and focus his energies on contonuing to solve real problems and to expose the real fraud of our government – not on campaigning. Let his actions speak for him. We his people should be busy spreading the word.
I think it’s important to announce as soon as possible so what remains of the Republican Party can realize they don’t have anyone else to put up and they can all get behind RP. I am sure ALL of the Libertarian Party would be with RP.
[...] has a great post about the ‘what if’ possibility of Ron Paul running for President in 2012. Bear in mind [...]
I’m not even sure what the Republicans can run on in the next election. Foreign Policy? Federal Reserve? Health Care? Civil Liberties? Spending and Tax Cuts?
Ron Paul is the only one who can and will offer something the American People would be willing to listen to.
I think Ron Paul would be a great president, but he can’t win. To beat Obama, a candidate will have to be young, dynamic, and must be able to speak in sound bites. Newt Gingrich can’t win for the same reasons. I would support Ron Paul as a vice president candidate.
Ron Paul is a bit of hero for many, including me. And of course, he has my vote for the presidency over any of the other jokers in congress, but then I subscribe to the RonPaul.com RSS Feed, so perhaps I’m already sipping the kool-aid.
I think we need to get a little more mainstream support, perhaps even grab some support from the dem’s. Maybe they’re starting to realize that even their super-star can’t grant them their ideals.
I do feel we are getting closer though. People are starting to get fed up with the road we’re on, and doubt the talking heads.
When? When the momentum in the pot starts to boil over, right now we’ve still got lukewarm soup.
I think Ron’s got the right idea jumping around the networks and getting his face out there. People have to ask themselves what he’s all about ( http://www.google.com/trends?q=ron+paul , http://www.quarkbase.com/show/ronpaul.com )
Ron Paul has to gain support from his fellow republicans before they elect him in the primaries. Republicans are pro-war so there is really no chance in hell that they would support ron paul. That is why Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Mitt Romney are considered the “leaders” of the republican party. Ron paul should start his own party or work with his Republicans to reshape their whole philosophy. I seriously doubt that republican supporters would ever be against the war. Republicans are usually gun toting fools.
Why do you think ron paul didn’t win the presidency last election? He never got into the primaries because he didn’t gain support from Republicans, only libertarians. Unfortunetly libertarians only represent 3% of our country. Even if Ron Paul gains support from the young people, the old grumpy republicans wont stand for that and wont support him.. As we have seen throughout history, the young voters alone wont win the presidency.
Harsh Reality
Sean,
actually, the Independents currently represent about 40% of the voting public. They were the ones behind Ron Paul with a collection of frustrated Conservatives and Liberals later joining in. After Paul dropped out a large chunk of these people reluctantly went over to Obama. And I don’t blame them. McCain was the last on my list. I voted for Paul because he was still on the La. Ballot.
And now, with Obama giving America daily shock treatments. And the confused GOP’s unchanging rhetoric the amount of disheartened Dems and Repubs are going to grow even larger. This could possibly result in even more voters joining the Independents.
What may happen is a huge surge in the size of a third party. Imagine that? Both the Dems and the Gop the monority in Congress. One can only dream.
If I were Paul’s campaign advisor I would suggest that he run as a Vice President running mate with someone younger such as Peter Schiff. Why? Because it would help to rid any notion of yet more false promises being made from yet another typical politician. We all know that Paul is not a typical politician but the majority of voters out there don’t.
Will they listen this time? Will they even have the chance to listen? As a third party? Perhaps. As a Republican? Doubtfull. Unless the GOP is a completely new GOP.
John Mccain almost got 10 times as many votes as Ron Paul in the primaries. Peter Schiff is an economist, not a lawyer. Peter schiff is a shmuk and nobody would vote for him.. No republican constituents want an anti-war canidate. Obama will either win or lose 2012 with a landslide. Every president in history is usually re-elected to finish carrying out their plan. To undo everything we are doing is a complete waste of money. For example, FDR was president for three terms..
Republicans are neo-conservatives who advocate economic and millitary power to bring liberty across the world.
Sean: “Every president in history is usually re-elected to finish carrying out their plan.”"To undo everything we are doing is a complete waste of money”
“WE” are doing? We as in -”on Obama’s staff”- perhaps?
Well that statement certainly explains everything don’t you think? It explains why you are so Pro-Obama and Anti- Paul. Sean you either work for Accorn,Obama,ABC or all three of them.
Peter Schiff and Ron Paul are exactly what we need right now.Schiff is now even being praised by the very same sarcastic News Pundits that use to scorn him. He’s an excellent Economist. Our country’s biggest problem right is “THE ECONOMY”. Not laws. We don’t need any more laws. Laws are what forced banks into handing out bad loans.
FED Laws are killing the free markets.Tax Laws are detroying the Amercian drive to succeed. We need an Economist. Obama’s proposal? “If you’re three months behind on your house note and your credit cards are maxed out, then you need another credit card to get things going.”
I hope Obama/Accorn is paying you well for all of this Sean.
“We” as in a country, “We the PEOPLE.”
“Leave the President free to choose his own coadjutors, to pursue his own measures, and support him and them, even if we think we are wiser than they, honester than they are, or possessing more enlarged information of the state of things.” –Thomas Jefferson
Do you know why Thomas Jefferson wrote this?? He wrote this because he didn’t want stupid philosphy to break up the country. A majority of America wants Obama to lead and because we are a REPUBLIC, Obama will be our chosen president. We should respect the REPUBLIC and the majority of our country. Just because we disagree on certain issues doesn’t mean that America will fail and that doesn’t give us the right to wish that America will fail.
I think Ron Paul would make a GREAT president and Peter Schiff would make a great economic advisor. I never said likewise so I would appreciate if you would read before you make sensless comments that don’t relate to me or anything I say.
That’s sound thinking, sean.
One problem, though …… it only applies if we believe that the president truly has the country’s best interest in mind.
In this case, sound thinking calls for a different approach.
Wishing for America to fail?
Still enjoy the spinning, huh sean?
Should we be accepting words of wisdom from such a low-level coadjutor?
Well you are out of tune with the rest of America who do believe that Obama is thinking about the best interest for the country. What is truely the best interest for the country is a matter of opinion. Obama won the presidency based on that opinion.. I think there are different approaches he could have taken but I didn’t vote for him for that very reason. Just because I disagree with certain philosophies doesn’t mean i’m right to ridicule him or imply that the rest of the country is dumb because they don’t reflect my personal opinions.
The rest of America? Do you get dizzy from the spinning?

I’m glad you know where the online dictionary is.
Thanks for acknowledging the point.
The point being that denouncing the presidents Marxist Socialist tendencies is not ‘making fun’ of him. In fact, it’s not even funny.
And since those that do not agree, like you, are speaking, then you cannot be ‘dumb’.
The only implication is ignorance
, not being dumb, or even stupid.
And before you get offended, again …..
ignorance:
lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified
PEACE
VVVVV
err.. you don’t even know what i’ve been talking about. I wasn’t talking about u.. this is what offended me..
“WE” are doing? We as in -”on Obama’s staff”- perhaps?
Well that statement certainly explains everything don’t you think? It explains why you are so Pro-Obama and Anti- Paul. Sean you either work for Accorn,Obama,ABC or all three of them.” – Peter
hahaha, so you really think you are that smart and the rest of our country is ignorant? Please, how old are you?
“Leave the President free to choose his own coadjutors, to pursue his own measures, and support him ” –Thomas Jefferson
Oh you mean like Bush going to an unwarranted and unpopular War?
Sean, where are the checks and balances? You do believe in checks and balances right? Who in Washington is balancing the budget right now? Congress? Obama? Who is the check to Obama’s plans IF (for argument’s sake) Obama were to attempt to void the 2nd Amendment? Who could stop him? Congress? Really? You wanna bet your freedom on Pelosi?
If the President is making decisions that are against the will of the people (Iraq War) and the Congress caves in to his agenda(like the Democrats did with Bush) VIA being literally “bought out” (pork spending bills) where does the will of the people end up?
Bush passed the first Bail Out,while polls showed that 78% of the voters were against it. Well, he passed it anyway. The recent Tarp fund again showed that the majority of voters were against it. And just like Bush, once again, Obama passed it.When he knew that it was unpopular. Why did he do it? I thought he was suppose to be about “Change”.
I respect Obama as my President. But I reserve my right to dissent. And I voice my dissent through my Representatives with phone calls and emails. But if my voice is suppressed due to Pork,Arrogance and Corruption in Politics. Then getting behind the Prez and behaving like a good little tax payer doesn’t cut it.
Hitler came into unlimited power because of too much trust, adoration and a lack of a stern opposition to keep him in check. Obama (though he may not be Hitler)is getting closer everyday to being in that same postiton.
I doubt that’s what Jefferson had in mind.
I live in PA under [rep] dont’t matter voted every year 30+ years. Ron Paul was not even on the ticket but I wrote him in anyways. I just couln’t bring myself to vote for McCain or Oboma. I’m glad I did because some of my friends never did vote. Now maybe this time 2012 he’s going to run if not I’ll be writing him in anyway. Who else is there? We’re in real bad shape. All this power to another professional politician. We may not even make 2012 as the USA. Trouble is real close and I’m scared a lot of people are going to get hurt. Americans, good people of all races. When people go hungry the time will be close so sad, it’s sickening, and for what reason? Money? Power? What will be left ??? GOD Bless the USA
Thank you,

Ralph,
Thanks for your comment. Passing on our United States of America to our posterity as millions have done for us from our Founding Fathers on and often at great personal sacrifice has been my motivation for all I do in our Ron Paul Campaign For Liberty. I share your passionate concerns. Our future generations will revile us when they learn at great personal risk in illegal classes on American history what could have been theirs.
The results of the direction we take as a nation will be a challenge to our survival. Perhaps our preparedness will be insufficient for disasters to come, so I am politically active to prevent what we might not survive.
The future belongs to the survivors and their descendants like all alive today and it has for all of history, but not all will survive what comes next. Perhaps we won’t prevail politically though I will give it my best. Ron Paul supporters are my favorite people and my heroes for doing what is right at their expense even when it appears futile. Never give up. Never quit. But, should our best efforts prove insufficient, then let’s plan on outliving those who choose to pass on “change” to our posterity instead of their heritage.

Your rhetoric is stale.
The Republican Party will be changed from the bottom up, or it will be history. We kicked a few holes in the door and loosened the hinges in ‘08. In 2012 we intend to kick down that door.
It is too late in history for a third party attempt.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTRWC44T5nk
p.s. Looks like the Democrats are ‘for the war’ now.
If republicans wanted ron paul to run for president, they wouldn’t call sarah palin their leader. Republican addvocates are for war so it won’t be done from the bottom up. You are a libertarian which makes up 4% of the population. You can get legislation passed with 4% but you can’t win a presidency.
how many libertarian senators do you know of running as republicans before 2012? Do you know how many republicans supported hr 2346? There was only one republican senator that voted against it.
Long shot Louie:
Yes! Wise words. Kick down that door in 2012. The Republican party MUST be changed.
If you read James Burnham’s Analysis of Conservatism, which was written in the late 1950s, the two parties have almost entirely changed places with each other – and regular folks are still so attached to these names, to how they define themselves, that they don’t recognize it is no longer that simple. In fact, it hardly matters at all from where I’m standing. I don’t think party affiliation matters anymore, because if it did, we would have seen much more support for Ron Paul from his supposedly “Republican” party. And while he won the debates OVER AND OVER the other Republican candidates stood there in total confusion as to what to do when faced with those rare qualities – naked truth and integrity. Ron Paul doesnt’ have to worry about his image – he just opens his mouth and there is no other substitute. No retractions, no I-don’t-recall, no I-never-said-that, because he says the same thing all the time, the truth, and never has to bother chasing himself to remember the last lie he told. That must be exhausting for some of these politicians.
The name and meaning of the word Republican has been hijacked and no longer really retains its original definition, which was nebulous anyway. A more appropriate one for the NOW might be Authoritarian. In my opinion though, what they call themselves no longer matters, what matters to these individuals at the top tiers of government now is that they are supported in their vote for laws that primarily benefit themselves financially, even at the cost of lives. Profiteering from war is absolutely where the buck stops, and those who can’t see it are A) too gullible, too susceptible to the jingoism to see what’s really happening, i.e. blind patriotism, or B) they are on the payroll themselves . Either or. The only thing you can do is educate them and then hope.
When people ask me now if I am a Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative, I just say I am an American who wants to save the form of constitutional government which has served us in the past. Let’s get Ron Paul elected in 2012 and stop the insanity.
Hey,
I was a neocon (theocon) once too, but I was enlightened. Most Republicans and Independents (and maybe lots of Democrats) are potential Ron Paul voters–they just don’t know it yet.
We just need to keep making lots of noise (as in TEA Parties, etc.). They will start listening eventually.
Let’s keep the momentum going and increasing.
OK? OK!
Sean, Your opinion of Republicans is rather twisted. Gun totting fools? War mongers? The definition of a Democrat/liberal is that they don’t want anyone but themselves to have guns because they are the only responsible ones.
Republicans are pro war? Take a look at history Sean, who dropped the first 2 atomic bombs? Who started WWII by forcing the Japenese into responding to our embargos on them? Who started Vietnam and who escaladed it, remember who stopped it? Who started the Korean War? Who bombed Kosovo? in response to a conflict we had no business in? Who lobbed missles into Sudan killing civilians? Who sent troops into Somalia and for what reason, to bring little Somalia to the US for those of us who actually work to support? Check out your history facts Sean. Democrats have always been the war mongers and just wait, w/a president that refuses to show his birth certificate and is legally fighting showing it, serious conflicts are just over the horizon. Hope your too old ot be drafted.
How long ago were all of those wars? Are you trying to say that the philosophy of the republican party has not changed. Do you know what the term Neoconservative means?
Republican intervention with wars in the past 30 years…

yepper, neo-cons and neo-liberals luvz them some war.
Sean,
Maybe it’s NOT the Crack, or the kool-aid, maybe you’re just mental. As someone that’s old enough to remember the events from the 80’s that you got data on from…apparently Highlights magazine…I can tell you that Libya was the ONLY country to claim those waters as their own. Besides, those Libyan missiles were fired at the U.S planes outside those waters. They attempted to flee back to Libya. I can tell you one thing for sure. You shoot at me…I shoot back.
The rest of your Highlights details are routine procedure for every president. Most of them were either provoked, or requested. Do you have a problem with keeping drugs out of this country?
Multi-national forces are an obligation we have as a world power to provide to the U.N, and NATO.
You equate humanitarian aid to military presence in a War? You are indeed young, and stupid. When you have a few more experiences in life you might just learn something useful, instead of proving your limited mental capacity.
As the adage goes…Better to remain silent, and be thought a fool than to open your mouth, and remove all doubt.
It wasn’t the crack. He is intellectualy stunted from mold and uncirculated air in his basement.
I did read on another thread here that he did LSD for 10 years, which is a bit strange since he’s around 24 yo.
Sean,
You seriously need help, or a job. Obviously if you do work it’s for the DNC, Obama, or ACORN. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a Republican, which are now just 1990’s Democrats, but a Constitutionalist/Libertarian. But you miss the point don’t you. Democrats apparently are so much more likely to kill hundreds of thousands or millions as opposed to a few thousand. You site military actions from the 80’s and 2000 but forget about the fact the 80’s middle east issues are due almost entirely to Democratic foreign policy from the 40’s through the 70’s and Ragan was dealing with Carter’s incompetence. If you want to talk about inappropriate intervention just look to Cuba, Panama, Iran, Iraq, Israel etc. Have fun Sean.
The sooner he announces his candidacy, the sooner people can start taking notice of him and his positions. He was marginalized so bad during the last election, I don’t want to see him and his positions overlooked again. Obama will continue to become more and more unpopular; if Ron Paul can get his opinions and views out there early, people who want ‘change’ and Constitutional government will see that they do have someone out there speaking for them. I’m tired of looking at polls showing GIngrich and JIndall as the leaders of the party–let a real leader announce his decision to run and start gaining momentum! RON PAUL 2012!!
I am adamantly a Ron Paul fan. His every stance on government is completely what i believe. Ron has a lot of stuff to do,and he needs all the help he can get. He should announce it immediately because i am waiting for the cue and when that happens i will be putting up the fliers talking to people in street and i along with other will put that man in the presidency. We need to know right now
It would be great to have him start campaigning in early 2010, because that way once the FED is audited(if its audited), The masses of the people can see how corrupt it is and how Ron Paul wants to end it. (And i do believe the bill said it would require a complete audit by the date of 2010.)
But i dont know if much of anything is changing. People still seem to care more about American Idol then they do about double-digit inflation and unemployment.
Ofcourse i still have faith that maybe 50% of the population will take Ron Paul’s side if he can manage to abolish the FED after its audited. All i know is its going to take a gigantic wake up call to America if anything is going to change. I think thats what people NEED to see if Ron Paul even stands a chance of being elected. They need to see him going up against this gigantic money monster and get rid of it once and for all. Even the masses should respond well to this.
Its going to be quite a battle though, being the FED undoubtetly has Obama, the senate, and half of congress on their side.
Ron Paul 2012!!!
