I would like to see him run for Texas governor or even senator as well as president. I don’t know what the rules are on running for a governor seat at the same time as president but if he could only run for one of those, I would prefer he ran for Texas governor. I think his odds of winning that race are much higher and it would set him up for a stronger presidential race.

I don’t understand how to vote in this poll. There’s no button I can find to participate. Anyway, I would vote “yes”.

Ron Paul is still not as nationally known as he should be. I would love to see him run for president if he began now by seeking the national spotlight and putting forth understandable and convincing arguments as to why people should adopt his independent party. He must become controversial and popular to be a viable candidate.

Not so long ago, America was a forest of “Vote For Ron Paul” posters, and nearly every car had a Ron Paul sticker. So what went wrong? Why didn’t Ron get the votes in?

The answer to that question, is twofold, either there was the most improbable event in the history of American elections. or the votes were tampered with. I know that Ron Paul is not bullet-proof, next time these crooks who run America might adopt their favourite gangster solution?

I appreciate everyone who is for the cause, and I appreciate individual concerns within the cause. However, some of those concerns may be misrepresented or misinterpreted if all of us are not careful. And posting accusations about vote tamping is, in my opinion careless. Here’s why.
I too am a huge Ron Paul supporter, but I gotta tell you, you’re hurting the cause with the ‘votes were tampered with’ line. Independents and the people we need to win over to our point of view tend to perceive us as wacko conspiracy theorists to being with. Comments like that make that label that much easier to stick.

All I did was open an email, vote in a poll and POW there’s your comment about votes being tampered with. This isn’t Kabul, and although I don’t believe the elections here are beyond reproach, think of the cause and how, even if you expound on it later, affects Ron Paul’s election bid. We NEED him to win because we believe in what he wants to do. Sound money, sane foreign policy, stuff like that. Stick to the issues my brother and remember, you’re the face of the Libertarian wing of this party. We can’t change things if the people we need to change tune out because they think we’re loons. We fight that notion from the start with no help from mainstream media or the neocons.

ALL of us need to represent our point of view in way that highlights the core belief of what is right about America and what our founding principles were and ought to return to. Conspiracy implies that people with an opposing point of view have done wrong and they will, by human nature, take a defensive posture. Especially when those people are good people who have just not heard our point of view.

Let’s invite them in with logic and common sense, not accusations and theories. Because you know what? That sounds like victim-speak. And victim speak is the democrats native tongue. Everyone in the party perceives themselves to be victims. That’s not us. Chances are these people will see that we are merely asking to return to the constitution as the founding guide, not some sort of militant militia BS from the far right that is just as out of touch as the far left. Let’s stick to what we can prove and let faith in our fellow Americans good sense do the rest of the work. Deal?
      In Liberty,
      Scott

I told my boss that if Ron Paul runs for President in 2011/12, that I will need to take a couple months sabbatical in order to work for his campaign. I’ve never believed in something or someone with such conviction in my life! I view Ron Paul as a defender of our Constitution and I will fight for him and our Constitution on a battle field, political campaign or in a chat with friends! It’s time to save what our forefathers gave us!

Yes, especially if you’re into changing your administration and alphabet soup agencies directorships, including Joint Chiefs of Staff and Military to genuine patriots interested in the good of The People and serving them versus Elites/Earth Controllers and Corporations who have their own self-interested agendas. Please also abolish the Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission involvement in any policy and decision-making. And get the treasoners out of government, the ones who accept bribes and payoffs AND compromise themselves for frame-ups by dark intentioned interests. Cancel out the levels of policy and decision-making above the president, which do not conform to transparency and the genuine good of The People. In other words, eliminate the “Classified” BS from The People. Too many “black ops” take place under this cover. See that Codex Alimentarius has no part in genuine Health Reform, and get rid of “Project Paperclip” or whatever Nazi infiltrators posing as medical doctors in our hospitals…Oh, there are so many things that need to be CLEANED UP! Finally, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE see that the privately owned Federal Reserve/gov’t relationship and IRS (bill collectors) who run away and on their own with The People’s “Carte Blanch” Credit Card…relationships are ABOLISHED, GENUINE PEACE established…so that NESARA (National Economic Security and Reformation Act)(passed into Law October 2000) can become truly public for once and all.
NO MORE HARRASSMENT OF THE PEOPLE WHO I THINK FINALLY HAVE THE MATURITY AND INSIGHT TO BE SELF-GOVERNING…without being led around by the nose with the help of a corrupted/controlled mass media serving private economic interests.
I realize the Office of President is limited, but PLEASE do what you possibly can.
    Thank you.

I live in a small town of 5000 people and think I was the only one that voted for Ron Paul for President. My deepest wish is that this country will still be intact by the next election. But with Obama in office, this country will continue to fall apart. Ron Paul right now is doing more for this country, then Obama is in office.

A third party run with the Libertarians or Constitution Party may be interesting. Ron Paul has become even more well known since this past election’s primary and with enough money and media support (which he’ll hopefully receive) he could hopefully bring one of these parties to the national scene and make a splash in 2012

Ron Paul needs to run on the Republican ticket, a 3rd party bid simply won’t work in America.

BUT, he needs to BUILD a COALITION of conservative fringe parties to include,
Libertarian Party, Constitional Party, Tea Party, Conservative Party, etc.

Absent this coalition of conservative supporters, its not likely that the Repubs can re-gain a foothold in the area of ideas.

The Dems have built their coalition of every seedy sleezy fringe group imaginable, including AFL/CIO, ACORN, SEIU, NEA, etc. Any single group is powerless but together they succeeded FINANCAILLY at defeating the Repubs

The RINOS will self destruct once Conservative Values again become the mainstream of the Repub plateform. The Repubs are doomed to continued failure if they insist on out liberaling the Dems on the issue.

I would like for him to be President, yes! I’d like him to run. But there are three strikes against him: 1) His age, which doesn’t bother me but bothers a lot of other people; 2) He’s a Libertarian–like I am–and I don’t think people understand exactly what that is; and 3) He’s not obnoxious enough of a politician. He’s not obnoxious at all! And he’s not “celebrity” enough for our dumbed-down citizens of today, who think candidates and presidents MUST appear on the David Letterman show. *sigh*

His son, Rand Paul… know anything about him? At least people would rag about his age, anyway.

I would love to see the underground support for Dr. Paul fester to the point that he can’t NOT run. I’d rather have him on the ticket later than earlier, that way less $$ (maybe) is spent on huge campaign endeavors, support for him continues to SWELL right up to the point of vote, and most important, he can stay in Washington longer and continue to fight the good fight for all of us freedom loving Americans! He’s one of the few that will do this, I’d rather he keep on the task as much as he possibly can, rather than wasting precious time in campaign mode. Regardless, if the election was today, whatever party he ran for, he’d have my vote.

I think Ron Paul should run only if he thinks he should run(obviously). But if there is someone else out there who supports the Constitution and can be as influential or more influential than Ron Paul, I think that person should run. Ron Paul did a great job reaching out to all types of freedom and liberty lovers, especially the young people. Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not Dr. Paul feels he can or wants to run..

Yet, how can we have respect for a government that is turned upside-down?

I believe Dr. Ron Paul would put us back where we need to be. He is a man who is clever in seeing past America’s pretended smiles.

I love these comments. I believe Sarah Palin could be that front person for Ron Paul. He is not going to find much better, as few will go along will all his policy beliefs, sane as they are. Running on the Republican ticket, Sarah can carry it if we carry her, providing we have a good sit down with Sarah and Ron Paul.

Sarah Palin is the worse choice and she is part of the reason the republicans lost the last race. They tried to get more of the younger independents with Palin and instead she insured they voted the other way. She is a normal house wife that got lucky in one election for governor but is in no way shape or form eligible or proper for the job of President or even Vice President. I know the Fox news team and those in the same boat like Rush would have you thinking that Palin is the fresh look of the party and that the only thing that happened to her is the media attacked her but then I think, didn’t she have one whole news station hanging from her butt? Everyone has to deal with the news stations and the worse of the attacks was the ones placed on Congressman Paul to make him appear to be a crank when really he is a doctor and has served as a congressman for more than twenty years.

Our president shouldn’t just be a pretty face supported by a party but a person that has clear decisions and has lead on those decisions and not flip flopped for the sake of a contribution or any other foreign influence. If you look up what Congressman Paul has said about Palin you would see that he probably wouldn’t want to run with her because she doesn’t stand for the same type of government that he does and has been part of his platform since he decided to run for office.

Fred Van Liew: Paul/Palin 2012? Looks good to me. It is funny so many people have this negative image of Sarah. Sarah is a lot like Ronald Reagan- ALL the liberals are terrified of her! Why do you think she is the number one topic in the Huffington Post every week? Ron Paul is not Mr. Charisma and he needs a person with charisma. Palin is that person. She can be Dr. Paul’s “Great Communicator”.

I think Dr. Paul might do better with a strong teammate, like Peter Schiff, taking the lead on the ticket. Yes. I think there are going to be a lot of confused and upset (Obama’s approval ratings going down, unemployment going up) citizens with a lot of questions that Obama, Palin, and the like will not have the answer to, and I think this would be a great time for Paul to campaign and get his message out there. Some may say the chances of him winning are slim, but I think it is moments like these where great leaders are called for.

Perhaps the question is whether he should run Republican, Libertarian, or Independent?

No, unfortunately if he runs for president, he’ll never get elected. Elections no longer go to the man/woman with the best ideas, and the best plan to implement changes that are good for our country. Elections go nowadays to the best salesman that the party can put forward. We need a slick-looking, silver-tongued politician who’s loyal to Dr. Paul and OUR ideals. Democrat is fine, Republican is probably better, but someone strong enough to make a third viable party is best.

Well said, Brian, however Dr. Paul has shown a very good ability to communicate when allowed to do so. The climate has changed to where more people are listening. I believe he should have someone like Sarah Palin on the ticket to communicate the values of this country and the family. Common sense goes a long way, so why would we put someone on his ticket without common sense? Seems in short supply. Ron Paul/Palin ticket! Short of this ticket or a similar pairing, I agree that Dr. Paul could do more in Congress. He might want to run for the Senate.

I definitely agree that Ron Paul should run for the Presidency in 2012. But he will need all the help he can get from newly-elected libertarians or common sense individuals in Congress and the Senate. Ron Paul and other libertarians at LewRockwell.com have given us the tools to educate ourselves about the true value of the U.S. Constitution, and the destructiveness to our economy, jobs, etc. brought about by the FED since 1913. I am not a libertarian, but a man of common sense. Ron Paul speaks the truth. It has become a now or never dilemna: do we allow Congress to destroy the American dream, or do we take back our government?
As Thomas Jefferson once said: “I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.”

I think Congressman Paul should stay in the Congress where he can be an advocate for responsible, conservative, constitutional legislation!! I have no doubt he would make a great president. In my view, our greatest need right now is to clean out both houses of Congress which are an embarrassment!! Their approval rating tells it all. I’m also a supporter of Peter Schiff for Congress in opposition to Chris Dodd in Connecticut. We need to eliminate the progressive, liberal, socialists one by one and keep the conservative members, such as Congressman Paul, in office.

I would like a young, vibrant, good looking (sorry, but it helps!), man/woman to run as a Libertarian (not for the Republican nomination). To most whom think he’s “kooky” are for the most part people that only get their information from what the 5 o’clock offers them and then the mind control stream that is offered from any cable news station. Congressman Paul is actually very well spoken and though he doesn’t talk as fast as others he does make sure to only speak about topics even when those interviewing him would try to twist ideas to create attacks on people which I’ve not once seen Congressman Paul allow the personal attack to come out from his side. It does seem that Congressman Paul talks with ideas that are a bit above most peoples heads and he may assume that people will understand what he’s saying and the truth is most people are so uninformed that they just don’t get it. The sad part about saying image is important is that you would have to consider that the news stations would offer a fair showing of each person so people could make their own minds up instead of the attack machine that they were towards Congressman Paul when he was running for president. I still look at videos on youtube of news stations that do nothing but bash him and I wonder if any other presidential candidate was bashed by every news station the way he was? But then I also wonder if anyone else could have kept a clear head about it and kept to his/her message amongst the wolves..
