The following statement was made by Ron Paul in an address to the House of Representatives in 2001:

“There’s nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency…. The effort in recent decades to unify government surveillance over all world trade and international financial transactions through the UN, IMF, World Bank, WTO, ICC, the OECD, and the Bank of International Settlements can never substitute for a peaceful world based on true free trade, freedom of movement, a single but sound market currency, and voluntary contracts with private property rights…. The ultimate solution will only come with the rejection of fiat money worldwide, and a restoration of commodity money. Commodity money if voluntarily and universally accepted could give us a single world currency requiring no money managers, no manipulators orchestrating a man-made business cycle with rampant price inflation.” (Congressional Record, 13 March 2001)

A world commodity currency (like gold or silver) with no central bankers would be a good thing. It’s a world fiat currency with central bankers that is a threat to freedom and national sovereignty.

My first choice to run on a presidential ticket, with or without Ron Paul, is stand up comedy legend Doug Stanhope. Stanhope is young, edgy, atheist, and lives in the west. He has a devoted following, and with his irreverent humor, would make a good counterpoint to Dr. Paul’s earnest sincerity. Most importantly, he is also strongly libertarian, and won’t sell out or compromise Ron Paul’s message. He is not tainted by association with the political establishment, and is able to communicate important truths via humor, often more effectively than they can be communicated via other means. Before you dismiss the idea of a comic running for president (Al Franken just got elected Senator), check out some of his video clips on YouTube. I think he would be a media hit on the campaign trail, and really get people fired up, especially youth. If you get a chance, go see him live — an experience not to be missed!

“Atheist.” Why do you bring that up? Ron Paul isn’t an atheist (and thank God for that). http://www.covenantnews.com/ronpaul070721.htm & http://www.prayforpaul.com/

My first choice for a running mate for Ron Paul would be Alan Keyes. Why isn’t his name up there? He would be a tremendous, intelligent, Charismatic, Christian VP (OR President, himself). And he would finally refute the “racism” that those of us who dislike Obama are constantly accused of. Alan Keyes SHOULD be president, but having him as a Vice President would still be pretty wonderful. He’s an awesome man! A man that the blacks could TRULY be proud of!

Keyes is not as bad as a lot of people who are on this list. So I can see adding him (as well as adding Goldwater, Jr., who was one of the few prominent politicians who endorsed RP in ’08). But understand that Keyes positively hates Ron Paul. Keyes loves how Lincoln subjugated the confederate states, and he loves that the US government is policing the world at the expense of the American taxpayer. And I think he’s still bitter about the Constitution Party not nominating him in 08 because of those positions and instead nominating Ron Paul supporter, Chuck Baldwin.

Dr. Keyes is liberty-friendly in many respects; it’s mostly his foreign policy that needs some serious work.

There are many good choices in that list…no doubt.
But I would say that the top three would be Ventura, Palin, and maybe Glenn Beck. But only for name recognition purposes.
As far as being in line with the patriotic constitutional based ideas with the past record to prove it…we have to look at Baldwin, Ventura, and Badnarik, or maybe Schiff. Or how about James Traficant? Why is he not on that list? Because here is a guy that talks the talk, and walks the walk, and also has name recognition as well as knowing when to put his foot down…(or somewhere else need be).
It’s a tough call at this point.
But it is good to see the field getting bigger, and loading up with potential possibilities.
And to the beanhead that thinks Ron Paul is antisemitic…
Why? Because he wants to take care of our country “AMERICA” first and foremost? Hello! We’re floundering over here in the land of the free and the home of the brave. We are not the global police force in case you didn’t know. We GIVE BILLIONS to Israel every year, and have for a great many years. Do you think they ever intend to pay that back? And while we are sinking fast…they want even more.
It is time to take care of our country and get our own house in order. Or pretty soon, we will be unable to help anyone…even ourselves. Get a freaking grip.

Brother Chuck: Rand would be a mistake because of his age and inexperiance handling the liberial media. What about Michel Steel,
or that fellow McDonell the won Govenor of Virginia? He impressed me as being a strong Christian. Sharah Palin would be a good for drawing card, but I would hate to see her one heart beat away from being Command and Chief if you kknow what I mean. Pat is too old and I don’t think he is up to the task. At one time sure, but someone with his ability to debate the issues is what we need. I am glad you did not include Newt Ginrich. He has dipped his colors. Brother Chuck, I would pray that GOD would allow you to do it, but it is more important that you keep your eye on the main thing, and that is winning souls.I am going to a large flea market near here tomorow, and rent a both to witness, kind of like Amazing Grace does at the Fairs, but we have added soem of what Ray confort does. We have seen 160 people saved since April and handed out 6000 tracts. That will win our Country back. Ron Paul hurt his self by jumping out agaist the war so quick last year. I think to protect Isreal we did the right thing. Why they refuse to admit Sadam had WMDs, I will never understand. The man had three months to hid them in the desert, or even Seria. He used them on the Kirds, and even his own people, so go figure.
I want to say thanks for your News letter. I have been following you for eight years. I have convenced a lot of gainsayers to Brother. Keep it up. God has HIS hand on you. Maybe you will read this.

I chose Michael Badnarik, but unfortunately too many people do not know him well. If you ever got a chance to watch his educational videos on the constitution, you would see that he is very well versed in the law and it’s practical use to protect us. After I started reading other comments, I realized I had completely forgotten another choice as an ‘other’. That would be sheriff Mack, the Oath Keeper. It is great to have a local sheriff to protect the citizens, but it is equally important that we have one (V.P.) on the National level. Too bad he can’t deputize congress and fire them if they violate their oath!

As a Canadian, I am hoping that soon some sanity will prevail in American politics. I believe than America has lost its moral groundings and has lost its position as the leader of the Western World but there is still enough resources and power for the U.S. to regain its spot and it is the main country to still influence whether or not free humans will survive on this planet.

Ron Paul and Andrew Napolitano. What a team. Then they could appoint Peter Schiff as head of the Fed and someone else like him as Treasury Secretary. No one from the CFR in cabinet positions. But face it, the descendants of the Jekyll Island mob and the other one-world-government types will never let it happen. They are too powerful.

Mr. Drawlr nailed it. The Jekyll Island international banking/one world government fraternity is too entrenched and powerful. Have we forgotten 2008 with all the ground swell Ron Paul had caused and the ‘conservative’ Fox News Channel ridiculed him every step of the way and refused him to attend one of their Republican presidential debates. Not even to mention virtually nary a word in the media about the THOUSANDS that answered Michele Bachman’s call THIS WEEK to show up at the Capitol in Washington.

Justin, I think it is a bit early for a 27-year old Kokesh to run for VP, so I would get him elected to the House and establish his Constitutional governance there before moving up.

Now for James Traficant. Did his railroading into the slammer label him as a felon ? If so, wouldn’t that make him ineligible to serve in high office ? Just wonderin’……….

Ron Paul has a lot of fine qualities but, he is too soft for the job. Ron would have made a superb president in the 1950′s or even that Golden Period between 1900 and 1912. With the crisis we have right now, he would be best as a VP where he could preside over the Senate and get his hands deep into the Washington machinery.

What America needs at the top is an old-fashioned populist demagogue who can rally a nation suffering from malaise and anomie. The body-politic is paralyzed from every kind of cancer that afflicts old corrupt republics. The people cannot collectively rise up and unite on their own – not after 40 years of corrosive diversity propaganda, a stupefying culture, and equity-stripping of the economy. We have arrived at the same point that so many wrecked nations have already come to and there’s no escaping it. We need our own Great Leader. Albeit one that has arisen out of the body-politic and not out of a Bilderberg boardroom.

For decades, we have seen the New World Order sabotage every popular candidate. This One will have to ride the wave of an angry armed population willing to push back with lethal force, however unorganized it may be in the beginning. As the muscles of revolution get flexed, the people will become more skilled and coordinated against their common class enemy. We’ve tried to play by the rules, relying on the tender mercies of a malevolent power elite, and it’s time we admit it was a failure. It’s time to declare war, civil disobedience and insurrection, against the Establishment, its institutions, and enforcers. It will take a special man to rally the people and keep them focused on the Declaration of Independence’s call to duty against against tyranny. Mao was right about power growing out of the barrel of a gun. Infowar is only a positioning device against an enemy. It will take an armed uprising and organized resistance to put words into action.

America needs a man with fire in the belly, a thundering rhetoric that comes naturally, and knows that the tree of tyranny can only be chopped down. It cannot be pruned away leaf by leaf. Since Huey P Long and Eugene V Debs aren’t available, Alex Jones or Lou Dobbs will have to galvanize the slaves. They know how to traumatize the American people by forcing us to see our executioners but, they never quite tell us to take up arms and free ourselves. Even if we took up arms, who would we shoot? We don’t have any rules of engagement. Who is going to charge out of the house with their deer rifle, all cranked up against the Bilderberg Group but, not knowing what else to do except drive around babbling about the New World Order? How do we position ourselves to push back against police in public demonstrations, using as much force against them as they do to us? The elites will never respond to our fussing and griping unless our words are backed with a willingness to take our grievances to their private residences and shoot back against their security forces or even the police. Police who serve tyranny have no legitimate authority and are subject to the Nuremberg Trials standards.

Hopefully, it will only take a few brushfire battles and lots of firey rhetoric to overthrow the power elites and put a real president like Alex Jones or Lou Dobbs in power. Ron Paul can always be the policy wonk in the background to act as a speed governor to prevent any unforeseen abuses of power by captains and lieutenants of the Revolutionary President.

Joe, I agree, unless folks could actually see the true wisdom of Palin in the mix. Not just her notoriety from ’08, but tell the story about who she was as governor. She held the HIGHEST security clearance of any other official in the nation other than the Pres, due to being Governor of Alaska. If her story was told she could push a ticket over the top. Women are ready to be represented and I believe that the Dems will bring a woman into the VP spot in ’12. In order of what I think is most winnable…..Baldwin/Palin, Palin/Baldwin, or Baldwin/Paul with the announcement that Palin will be Secretary of State during the candidacy….not just at the convention. the women will not feel left out. The Republican brand is dead, a footnote in history, at least I think it should be after the last two decades of misdeeds, misadventures, and profligacy. Let’s move to higher ground. Why should our candidate have to carry the last half-century of neocon (liberal Republican) baggage that will be heaped on it by the media in future election cycles? It isn’t as important the name of the ticket as it is the conservatism of the candidate, and a return to God, Nation (Constitution), and family. We’re shouldn’t be electing the Republican Party, which is focused to serve its own narrow interests more than the nation’s best interests, as much as we should be choosing a leader to take us in a constitutional direction, a candidate motivated by ethics, initiative, excellence, integrity, self-reliance and a fiduciary responsibility to American taxpayers – not to mention the Rule of Law. There is alot not to like in the Republican Party. Most Conservatives (capital C) would openly support some combination of Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Michelle Bachman over the other choices on the list. Save the other excellent names for critical positions of administration responsibility.

Don’t underestimate how much his campaign shook the cardhouses of power. Don’t underestimate what a passionate few could do. And don’t underestimate what a passionate few, plus some amazing, record-setting fundraising has already done.
Whether it’s RP or somebody else, or lots of somebody elses; if we lose it’ll be because we screwed up; not because of some evil genius plot.

Ron Paul is not on the radar screen as far as candidates for 2012. The top three Republicans are Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin. I don’t think Ron has even polled in the top ten so to worry about a VP is pointless. Ron needs to get with a major player in order to get his message out. Maybe he should try to appear on the “Huckabee” show on Fox on Saturday night. I think Huck would be glad to have him on as he has had many left wingers etc. on his show. Paul needs to get his message out or he’ll never be more than a candidate for his narrow group of intellectuals. After he succeeds in getting his face in front of the public then he can worry about a VP. (Or maybe he could be somebody’s VP) Until then we will all sit here and blog about why he needs to be president and nobody will listen because nobody will hear us.

Some odd choices; many good, obvious choices.

For mass-appeal and name-recognition, how about these:

    Willie Nelson
    Bruce Willis
Dave Ramsey (emphasis on reducing debt)

There is NO way in the this world I would vote for any Republican ticket! It would be like casting a vote for the Kings court! The definition of insanity is voting for a Republican once again and expecting different results. I am so surprised at how many are still asleep.

Well, you have a good point. Team Jacket/idol worshipping/tribalism voting hasn’t worked well so far. But I think we’re all Ron Paul fans here, and RP has very clearly, repeatedly and unambiguously pitched his tent in the GOP.

There’s so many great choices listed here . . . couple of turds too like Glen Beck. Sarah Palin is adorable but completely out of the question. McCain is an accomplished politician obviously but we need to get rid of most of the accomplished politicians pronto. Baldwin, Ventura, Romney, Kucinich . . . all the straight shooters would be fine choices. God I’d love to sit in those brainstorming sessions! Would that it could happen!

JC Watts, the former OK quarterback and congresscritter, would make a solid choice for either VP or a cabinet post.

There’s a lot of Pro war neocons on that list. Remember when Ron Paul said he would not endorse John McCain why would that change in 2012. I also hate pat Buchanan a lot because he is so racist towards mexicans it’s unbelievable and he even gets praised for it!!! That absoluteley disgusts me how he can write a book misrepresenting the whole Hispanic community and then he goes on the air talking about how they don’t want to be americans they are proud mexicans. I just want to punch his teeth out so bad and sock him all the way to he’ll. Chuck Baldwin Alex jones Lou dobbs and sometimes Glenn beck piss me off at that level too. How can anyone consider slandering mexicans immigrants and illegals be considered patriotic? It just makes me sick. Anyways some other dems I would add are mike gravel and Russ feingold. On the republican side maybe Jeff flake. Peter schiff is the best republican though.

Ron Paul is great but he’s still a Republican. I’d rather see him jump to the Constitution Party and admit that the Republicans are a Gang of Phonies.

I like Sarah Palin a bit but same problem there.

Chuck Baldwin is my guy unless Chuck Norris gets in the race as the Constitution Party nominee. Then conservatives will kick ass once again!

I’ve got news for you ELK—-the Republicans have never kicked ass
as you call it. The problem is: They should. I want Ron Paul to
win this thing regardless of the party. Whatever it takes

How did Gov. Mark Sanford even get placed on this list? Didn’t you look at his record in South Carolina? He was in charge when one of the biggest thefts of our rights was perpetrated, and he went along with it.

If you want to know the worst thing that Governor Mark Sanford did, see http://dailycensored.com/2009/07/02/what-is-the-worst-thing-that-governor-mark-sanford-did/

Until someone has the balls to stand up for restoring our rights to control the government, we will continue to suffer from a corrupt government. If you have wondered why the government passes laws that virtually everyone opposes, like the bank bailout, and why the government refuses to investigate and prosecute obvious crimes, like torture and murder, check out Why Does the Government Ignore Our Wishes? at http://dailycensored.com/2009/09/11/why-does-the-government-ignore-our-wishes/ and don’t miss my 18 minute speech.

If you take a look, you’ll learn why they get away with horrible crimes. My article on torture includes a link to the U.S. Supreme Court case which explains how one of our stolen rights makes the difference between justice and injustice, between freedom and slavery.

Sheesh; I would have thought that RP fans would be a little less star-struck, and a lot more hard-nosed about principle and objectives.
The “pick a star from the sky” approach has been tearing us apart. Ron Paul is no celeb; he’s a stuck-to-his-guns patriot who earned national attention, after decades of being marginalized, only by a combination of timing and zealous, imaginative young folks who took RP’s campaign as their own and did marvelous, unauthorized things.
Quit thinking we can play the Fancy Pants Party game by their rules! We must make our own if we want to beat them.
Get behind candidates who’ve proven to be solid, and it won’t be the candidate who gets them elected.
It’s always in the supporters, you know. And the passionate few will always beat the mumbling masses.
Pick on principle, stick to your guns, and use all your talent to get your pick elected.
