According to the C.B.O. Health care costs, if left unchecked and continues on its upward trend that is much above the rate of inflation, will be over 30% of gross domestic product in the next few decades. Shouldn't we be focusing our efforts on viable solutions? There are plenty of examples of systems in other countries that have a cost of 10% or less of GDP with better health outcomes than we have with our current system. If we are ever to be globally competitive, then we need to quit bickering and so whatever is necessary to bring this monster under control.

What you warn of has already happened.. and it happened tens of years ago and made far worse by the GOP during the Bush years. Medicare is the 800 lb monkey in the room. Show us you are different than the pharma and insurance industry rump kissers and offer a way out of this massive pork-full entitlement program.

Even Obama was willing to touch the 3rd rail this time with a $500B Medicare cut. What did the Palin do??? Attack the Dems for daring to touch Medicare.

I've ordered an appropriate bumper sticker "Keep Government off my Medicare".

Again, you have said it very clearly and succinctly. Oh how I wish you had won the presidency.

Besides this SO-CALLED Health Care bill was bad from the start! It will not cut the cost of health insurance, some of the provisions won't be in effect until 2014, and people will still be uninsured! Also the stupid penalty that if you don't purchase health care, then you'll be fined and put in jail! "YOUR GOVERNMENT AT WORK"! Medicaid won't really cover all of the cost of pre-existing conditions. It's full of Pork!
