Another Ron Paul Prediction Proven True

Barack Obama pledged to have the troops out of Iraq within 16 months of his inauguration. Ron Paul said that was “pure political talk.” Of course, Ron Paul was right… again. 16 months after Obama was sworn in, 89,000 troops remain in Iraq.

  • uspatriot

Ron Paul is what this country will need after Obama. It will take some major adjusting to the economics to get thing back to normal. People need to pay attention NOW instead of being diverted by the oil spill. Obama will continue to infringe on our liberties and violate the constitution. elect Paul in 2012.

  • Eric

As a Marine who just left Iraq I can tell you that his 16 month timeline wasn’t feasible. Aside of the security situation, the pure logistics of such a drawdown in such a short time frame are daunting. Sure, he shouldn’t have said it but, more importantly, we shouldn’t have believed it. I’m not an Obama fan, but I think he is doing the right thing there by doing the drawdown sensibly and listening to the Generals on the ground. But he had to say what he said to get the far left on board. After election, he went and did the “right” thing in drawing down according to the recommendations of his Defense and State Dept advisors. Of course, he should have said the truth from the beginning, but that’s just not how politics works.

The drawdown is happening fast, I can tell you that. I was with the last Marine Corps infantry Battalion in Iraq and we left about 3 or 4 months ahead of schedule and now there are just a few dozen Marines left in Iraq.

    • B.D.Harper

I think he’s staying in Iraq because it’s profitable to him and his affiliates. The political excuses mean literally nothing to me, all I see is the actions.
To each their own I guess.

    • ProudTEX

      Eric, Welcome home.

In respond to your comments above.

One question though. why did we ask Saddam Husein to get out of Kuwait in 15 days or else – but we can’t leave in 16 months?

The answer is easy if you think it logically. OUR POLITICAL BOSSES WANTED MORE AND MORE WARS and we the tunnel vision minded were suckered into it.

      BTW I was in Afghanistan 2005- 2006.

We need to impeach this clown.

“…16 months after Obama was sworn in, 89,000 troops remain in Iraq.”

True. Because everyone–whether they’re willing to admit it or not–knows that they have to stay until the job is done. Preferrably sooner rather than later, of course. But no one is stupid enough to forfeit all we’ve gained by going home without making absolutely sure that Iraq is a stable, non-terrorist state.

Okay, maybe I syhouldn’t say that “no one” is stupid enough. Ron Paul might be.

    • Tim

Ben you are one dumb petulant contrarian. Our forces had bin Laden 8 years ago but were not allowed to complete the mission. This isn’t a job its a process, the process of enriching a small number of campaign contributors & cronies at the expense of the rest of us and the sacrifice of our patriotic youth.

The purpose of these 2 wars and the impending war on Iran is to secure a pipeline into Khazakstan and clear the Gulf for oil shipments. China allows us to do this on their border because 1. Its our blood and money, 2. They need that oil, 3. They don’t have the technology to construct their own pipeline.

Do you get all your intel from TV? Not much to base an opinion on. Interesting that Bush Sr. is advising this campaign & Kissinger is representing the Chinese interests in the affair.

You should enlist and ‘finish the job’ yourself, you pathetic armchair critic.

    • Machine

Everyone is entitled to their asshole like opinions!!!

How are “WE” supose to fix the “instability” in Iraq when “WE” are the ones who created it in the first place by sticking our nose in a place it shouldn’t have been? When will we learn that every Government through out history fails and falls when they become Imperialist?

Yes we need to stick our tail between our legs, piss ourselves and get the hell outta Dodge and come home and concentrate on our own domestic affairs. The world does not hate us because we are a Democracy. They hate us because we force our views and opinions on other countries… Critisize and condem other cultures…Invade their borders.
Funny we hate that Mexicans cross our borders illegally…and they don’t come with guns and tanks and bombs.

      • Dillon Harris

No one likes to be told how to manage their affairs especially when they do not respect nor see reason to respect the one giving the unsolicited and often unwanted advice. The rest of the world see’s our disfunction. My gradmother said you should alawys keep your own house in order first.

“stay until the job is done” – “absolutely sure that Iraq is a stable”

What does (stability) mean to you or to the half human Obama?
What does (job done) means to you and your half human bread Obama ?

Did you prove the existence of WMD in Iraq after the invasion?
How many US soldier was dying prior to the inhuman invasion?
How many Iraqis were dying, fighting, committing suicide or killing US soldiers prior to the pathetic invasion?
Where is the link between the Ben laden and Saddam?

Forget about proving me with Obama’s birth certificate of being American. Prove me if he is even half HUMAN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

      Yours truly Mr, Dover

    • Grant

Can you please specify what “job” has to be completed? What job has to be done before we come home? Can you please also tell me what “all we’ve gained” ?

    • Scottt

More like…who is the stupid one… to think we got GAINS from the expense of the Afghan war and the lives lost? Look in the mirror to get your answer.

And we will be there forever if we are trying to imperialistically impose, what you call, a stable, non-terrorist state. That is a terrible joke in itself.

Also, who SAID the troops would be OUT in 18 months following the inauguration. Ahhhhh….. it was Obama wasn’t it …..not Paul? Ron just called the BS as he saw it. But you cannot even follow that simple logic. The mirror doesn’t lie!!!!!!!!!!

The Barack Obama campaign promise that disturbs me most is that president Obama promised that as a professor of constitutional law, everything his administration did would definitely conform to the Constitution.

Then president Obama turned a blind eye to the blatantly knowledgeably massively criminal ATT-CIA domestic surveillance on all law abiding citizens and extended the unconstitutional USAPATRIOT Act. This act abridges the 1st amendment and nullfies the 4rth, 5th and 6th. It is illegal, and can not be enforced without violating the Constitution. Any judge who rules in favor of this Act is a criminal acting with knowledge of forethought. I don’t believe in plea bargaining.

Pare Licto: The state of two parties engaged in an illegal, unenforceable contract.

Example: Every executive order and treaty George Walker Bush signed after he signed the USAPATRIOT Act into law is null and void, as by this one criminal act George Walker Bush violated his oath of office and the Constitution and in committing this act of treason voluntarily ceded his authority as President. Since this was and is approved by a treasonous majority of the senate and the treasonous Supreme Court raised no issue, until the sovereignty of the citizens is restored the USA is operating in a state of pare licto.

Not supporting our troops by extracting them from Bush’s follies is to me president Obama’s second worst campaign promise failure. I think he keeps them out there simply because it ’employs’ the entire military industrial corporate welfare program and to explain the transfer of US wealth to our blackmailing ‘allies’, who in another blatantly unconstitutional arrangement are manufacturing our weapons & munitions for the national defense.

    Wow, he’s a real Nostradamus.

    • EndtheFed

Yeah Fred, I can see how “logic” appears to be magic to someone who doesn’t understand it.

      • fred the protectionist

Everyone knew Obama wouldn’t leave Iraq or Afghanistan. And this makes Ron Paul special for saying what everyone thought? Only Code Pink didn’t know.

        • EndtheFed

You’re right on this one, why should we believe what our politicians are telling us?

They’ve certainly given us little reason to.

  • propaganda

check this out, pinned thread on the liberal forum, warn everybody:

Here is the plan. The Tea Party wackos are holding rallies everywhere. Liberal Forum members should go to the rally with racist, homophobic
& anti-everything signs. You will be interviewed by the press and proclaim your love of liberty and disgust with our Negro and Gay citizens. I believe this will work and help President Obama capture his second term.

    • mary

      Thanks Propaganda,
We are well aware of what these half-nits are doing. In Florida they have stirred up trouble by trying to put outrageous comments on our websites. I won’t repeat it here but it was pretty disturbing. Unfortunately for them now the Secret Service is investigating. We have Nothing to hide so now one of them at least will learn their lesson!

    • ProudTEX

“propaganda”, We are familiar with Obama’s tactics. He always likes to use the race card. A good example of this would be the Gates and the COP episode where he undermined the whole country’s legal system, law system, enforcement system, the judicial system etc. etc. and called the entire police department “Acted stupidly”

      Get out of here

      • Machine

Hey, if the shoe fits…I know several cops down here in the deep south that didn’t vote for Obama, however, they agree with Obama’s comment that the cops acted stupidly. No one was in danger, Gates showed proof of identification, there were no outstanding warrents…so what is the problem? What, he got mouthy, thats a threat!?!?! No, I agree…the PIGS acted stupidly.

  • Ron Paul is a Blessing from God …

If the American people ever allow the banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property, until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers occupied.
    Thomas Jefferson-1789

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
    Thomas Jefferson(then President)-1811

Educate and inform the whole mass of the people… They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”
    -Thomas Jefferson

    • David

You’ve got it Anthony. I’ve posted that quotation many times myself and his predictions are coming true as we speak.

Anyway, get onto the Sound Money blog. Several of us there are trying to organize a campaign to generate the mass action we need by the population to kill off the banking system for good and re-establish and economy and political system which will exist for the benefit of the American people, not the Banks.

There’s, many, many very good posts on the subject, but what we need to do is get the imformation out there and in front of the general population, who are angry as hell about the current situation but need to know a workable solution to it and what to do about it as well, we need all of the help we can get, and were asking that people just look through the many posts on there and copy and forward every one the like and agree with into emails to send to everyone on their lists so that they can do the same.

Anyway, come and help us accomplish this, it will be very much appreciated and the same goes for everyone else who sees this too. The more of us that get involved in this the greater the chance or bringing it about, and if we do, then each and every one of us here will experience prosperity such as we could not possibly imagine at this point, and our freedoms will be secure as well as we would have finally eliminated the single and only real threat to same.

      • Machine

        I’d like to get involved.

    • The Austrians routinely reject mathematics; and they in fact exalt interest — the very cause of failure (not debt)!
The reason nonetheless that Austrians and Hayek in particular exalt interest (with no mathematic or rational defense whatever), Hayek himself tells us: It makes “banking” (obfuscating the promissory notes of the people) “an extremely profitable business.” (See Mises page, reproducing Hayek’s article: “A Free-market Monetary System.”)
“Freedom” is Hayek’s first lie, for there is no freedom even from terminal exploitation, when the purported “Free Market Monetary System” is imposed upon the people despite political promises to the contrary, and when it can only multiply artificial indebtedness in proportion to capacity to pay, as the unassenting subjects are forced to maintain a vital circulation by perpetually re-borrowing principal and interest as ever greater sums of artificial debt, perpetually increased so much as periodic interest on an ever greater sum of debt, until of course the sum of artificial indebtedness exceeds their (finite) capacity to pay, destroys their credit-worthiness to maintain a vital circulation — and you have what you have right now, everywhere around you.
      That’s freedom, Mr. Austrian “economists?”
In fact the lie of your pretended economy can only multiply artificial cost!
Now, to say you predicted the present failure, even as it is the one possible fundamental consequence of the interest you advocate — that is one of the greatest lies in history.
      But it won’t fly.

Effectively, what the Austrians (Ron Paul) want is to remove the embossed letters which now say “Federal Reserve Bank,” and replace them with Austrian ‘COMPETING’ Bank(s)” — a principle which they refuse to debate, further define, or justify. Of course, any ostensible “competition” would ostensibly, on the contrary, drive interest rates down. But the Austrians tell us that we wouldn’t have borrowed ourselves into this debt mess if higher rates of interest had discouraged excessive/reckless borrowing.

      They are the f problem

    • Machine

Very often I see people quoting Thomas Jefferson, and it ammazes me how profoundly insightful he was…And here we are today suffering by the very things he warned us of.

I think if our founding fathers were to see us today and see what we, as Americans, have supported and allowed to happen, they would be disgraced and tell us we do not deserve liberty, and independence, that we are failures and are not able to self govern (autonomy), that the blood their generation shed for those qualities has been waisted. And if we were to look to those founding fathers for advice…They would tell us it is time for a revolution.

It is one thing when we, as a country, strive to improve ourselves…to live up to the high standards that our Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution, and Bill of Rights created when put into power. However anymore we allow ourselves to be sold the drama, spoonfed our thoughts and feelings…becoming obtus with politically correct hype and beauracratic B.S. The last great movement in this country was the Civil Rights Movement. We were striving as a country to raise the bar and hold our elected officials to the words “all men are created equal” in the sense that everyone, regardless of race, sex, creed or religion, deserves the opportunity of health, liberty, and the pursute of happiness.

WAKE UP NOW PEOPLE….it ain’t the British, the Chinese, the Arabs, the Russians, the Iranians, etc., we need to worry about…It’s our own Government and all the beauracratic agencies, banks, greasey attorneies, lobbiest, that are our enemy.

      Revolution is easier than reform
