Tea Party Summit: Ron Paul Meets Sarah Palin

Will the warring factions of the Tea Party movement set aside their differences and unite for the fall elections? Ron Paul and Sarah Palin come together with host Judge Andrew Napolitano to discuss common ground and major differences.

What does the future hold for the Tea Party? Rand Paul, Jim DeMint, Michele Bachmann, Dick Armey, Ed Rendell, and a surprise guest will discuss their thoughts on the potential creation of a libertarian-conservative coalition.

Will social conservatives put aside their differences with libertarians and unite under the Gadsden Flag of fiscal responsibility? Or are libertarians more suited to work with liberals because of their passion for civil liberties and distaste for war? What will be the outcome?

  1. Please-Please, Dr. Paul,

Stay as far away from that blathering meatball-headed neocon, Sarah Palin.

You will lose anyone that isn’t an ignorant, religious fanatic, interventionist, and corporate-butt-kiss.

Palin and Bachman are just corporate owned puppets that are too dumb to advance on their own.

They will darg you down -- that's why the neocons love them.

  2. Please, the heart of the Tea Party is the Constitution of the United States.

Keeping Sarah Palin (as attractive and sound-bite useful as she is... she really is awesome! American Candy all the way) will weaken the intelligent, thoughtful and educated individuals that are making up the heart beat of the body that is moving through the nation.

Ron Paul has been speaking the same words, living out the life of a constitutionalist his whole life.

Why lose the real people that are supporting this vein of thought?

Why clog and damage the arterial flow?

Instead of a LIBERTARIAN PARTY why not the CONSTITUTION PARTY?

  3. I really like Ron Paul and Sarah Palin. I think she makes a great spokesman, but she probably shouldn't run for office. I think she would do a great job, but too many people would attack her for her to get anything done.

    • Please do not use Ron Paul and Sarah Palin in the same breath. Its sort of like saying I like Thomas Jefferson and Homer Simpson. They aren't even on the same planet, much less do they belong in the same sentence.

  4. These recent Primary Races have demonstrated that the Tea Party is a Force the GOP can't ignore, try as they might.

I think Palins an "influential" spokesperson but a NeoCon none the less.

It would be great if Ron Paul could "school" Palin in Libertarian Conservatism.
I'd be impressed if she came out with some Austrian School, "Slash the Spending" speak and meant it.

    Ok, Ok, I'm delusional, sorry!

  5. Fact of the Matter

The Neocons have destroyed the term conservative in this country. I can't say I am a conservative without being accused of being a half baked christian solider who wants starve the poor to feed the rich. Take back the right wing beliefs of small government and upholding liberty and cast all these false leaders like Sarah Palin aside. This isn't a game, it is the fate of the world we are resting in the hands of a popularity vote. We treat the elections with less seriousness and interest than American Idol.

  6. Kick the Neocon in sheep's clothing known as "Sarah Palin" out of it and I'll agree with everything you are saying there Doctor Paul.....

Palin is the exact opposite of Libertarian.....Not sure why she got so much recognition so quickly. No one had heard of her a year ago; yet everyone in the USA has heard of Ron Paul.

  7. Sara Palin is part of a war mongering shadow government whose ultimate goal is to turn Americans into soldier/serfs.
    Alaska has oil interests.
    That's all she cares about.
I wish she would go away.
She will either take over the tea party movement or she will embarass the movement.
Either way it would be bad.

    • "Sara Palin is part of a war mongering shadow government whose ultimate goal is to turn Americans into soldier/serfs."
How nicely written and agree with every word of yours.
Here is a big deference between Ron Paul and Sara Palin.
at 14:45 of watch the video how Ron Paul respond to a question. He treat Israel like all other countries…. Ron Paul goes on.. with his very fair and square answer.
Listen to Sarah Palin at 15:12; Israel is the only ally and we should defend it. I wonder why don’t we have a military base in Israel? We have a base in Japan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc..etc.. No of these countries are our ally except Israel?.
I say, She works for Stinky State of Israel. She wants to inject herself in to tea party movement and republican party so she can have more wars for the sake of Stinky State of Israel.
She loves to quote Ronald Reagan to make us believe she is true republican which is just absurd. It was Reagan era that the German wall was demolished and brought the two German together happily ever after. Unlike Palin, she loves to bring more and more war and built more and more apartheid walls of hatred in middle east for protection of Israel and destroying every other nation for Israel sake.
I say If America isn’t in your list to be the 1st, 2nd and 3rd then go to that Shitty State of S.S. Israel called democracy happily ever after.

Sarah Palin is a fraud. Wake up America!

      • Actually, all of those countries are our allies. We dont have a base in Isreal because their war with the Palestinians is a religous one. We arent going to actively fight a religous war. They have our "support." By actually being there, we would be actively fighting Palestinians which would put us at odds with the Islamic nations we arent already at war with.

So let say if you help a bank robbers with getaway car, you are not part of the Robbery?, you are there just to support them for being there in the bank. Right?

Why do they have our support of 2.5 - 3.0 Billion dollars per year?
What do they give you in return?
I guess I am trying to get your common sense rather then any religious or political answer.

      • Probably because for a female to be recognized as a top public leader in the USA and the world you have to appear rough of thoughts and ideas, though very fem in body. Ready to fight anyone you encounter.

So ladies have to pose as pro war, know and talk about weapons, though a simple kitchen pot might be more effective and cost less to get the JOB DONE.

It is the USA culture, among a few other countries, or what it ended up being. Start by acknowledging that, then change all of the above.

  8. Sarah is being placed as the leader of the Tea Party to dismantle it's growth and unity. She is a conservative plague.

Get Sarah off of this show and remove her from the Tea Party airwaves or all will be lost.

She is not a Libertarian, independent, GOP, conservative, limited government person at all. She reads her cue card and that's about it.

  10. This is the part that gets me:

"Will social conservatives put aside their differences with libertarians and unite under the Gadsden Flag of fiscal responsibility? Or are libertarians more suited to work with liberals because of their passion for civil liberties and distaste for war?"

As a long-time Republican - a REAL one - who has fought tooth-and-nail against the neocon usurpers, it really gets in my craw that any freedom-lover would allude to Republicans having a dispassion for civil liberties and a taste for war. The original intent of the GOP was one of absolutism with respect to our inherent rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution. It was also quite clear about free trade and friendship with all nations and political allegiances with none.

Anybody who is under the delusion that liberals are anti-war need only look up Clinton's track record on sending troops to foreign lands: 44 times in his eight year tenure. Whereas only eight times were troops sent to foreign engagements in the previous forty-five years! Additionally, the liberal track-record with civil rights is despicable. One look at their nanny-state mentality can easily dispel that myth. They're absolutely famous for enacting the most ludicrous laws imaginable which squelch every Americans rights.

Granted, in recent years (actually decades) the neocons and empire-building interventionists/collectivists that have taken hold of the reins in the GOP are just about as bad as the liberals in both of the above aspects, but the GOP simply needs to "go back to it's roots," which will put it and the LP in almost perfect alignment with one another - with the caveat of a few notable differences such as open borders, etc. This is why Dr. Paul has such a huge following in both the paleocon and libertarian camps.

So I must vote a resounding "NO" to Dr. Paul and we "paleocons" aligning with either the liberal-left or with the Palinite "neocons in sheep's clothing!" Our rights and our freedoms are non-negotiable!!

The only way to see this through is to keep enlightening the tender-footed Patriots in the Tea Party until they realize that they're being led down a path which will never lead to the freedom they seek. We must regain control over the GOP. Once that is achieved - and as a Precinct Chair and Vice-County Chair I can attest that we're making great headway in that regard - then we'll literally be aligned with the LP and most Independents purely by default. The big-government liberals and neocons will quickly go the way of the Edsel when that "magic dotted line" (51% gives you 100% in the electoral process don't forget) is crossed. In our recent Republican Party of Texas Convention in Dallas, just about every race for control of the party was won or lost by only a scant few votes. Two years ago, in 2008 (just prior to Dr. Paul bowing out) we had only one-third of the contingent at that convention. Remember that they're (neocons) continuing to plummet and we're (paleocons) continuing to grow by leaps and bounds.

With the Tea Partiers "properly educated," we'll have a force that can annihilate the current neocon/good-ol-boy usurpers.

    Long Live the Republic!

    Long Live the rEVOLution!!

    • Ed Boyd, I have to disagree with your comment

//Anybody who is under the delusion that liberals are anti-war need only look up Clinton’s track record on sending troops to foreign lands: 44 times in his eight year tenure. Whereas only eight times were troops sent to foreign engagements in the previous forty-five years! Additionally, the liberal track-record with civil rights is despicable. When has a liberal supported war? Dennis Kucinich was against the war from the beginning, and like Ron Paul, the reason why we were attack was our occupation of a sovereign country. The title Liberal associating it with Bill Clinton is an oxymoron. It's like calling you a war-mongering-Reich-winged-Libertarian-Retardican. It's simply not true.

Therefore, putting the title Liberal with war and Bill Clinton is utterly false. As for big government, I see no problem with government. I see no problem with government, the bigger the better. Why? Because to go up against the too big to fail corporation, especially when five of the nine members of SCOTUS said that corporations have human rights. Google: citizens United vs. FEC. Yet the mantra of smaller government came from folks like Reagan (the 11 more terrifying words in the English language is I am from the government and I am here to help), Grover Norquist (Our goal is to shrink government to the size where we can drown it in a bathtub), Bush Sr. Read my lips, no new taxes and Bush Jr yes and Clinton shrunk government through deregulation like:

      01) Sherman anti-trust Act
      02) Glass Steagall

      Creation of:

      01) Gramm Leach Bliley
      02) Deregulation of Offshore drilling
      03) NAFTA
      04) CAFTA
      05) GATT

And yes they point to Clinton for signing NAFTA to law, but Bush Jr. never vetoed it and created created:

      01) http://www.spp.gov
      02) Patriot Act 1 and 2
      03) Continuity of Government
      04) CAFTA (remember that one?)

So is this conservative way? No? Then calling Clinton a liberal is calling Bush an Eisenhower conservative. Oh and Sarah Palin is a whore...no offense to sex workers.

  11. The CONSERVATIVE RIGHT needs to create a COALITION with more than just Dr. Paul.

While I fully support Ron Paul, HE, Rand and I know that a straight LIBERTARIAN ticket is simply unelectable in America today.

Americans are now simply too "indoctrinated" with Big Government gobbly goop policies to just go Cold Turkey off of Government Largess and on Libertarian Self Reliance principals.

Be Careful who we "DIS" going forward!

Sara may make a great Secretary of ?????, but not a VP!

    Strength in Unity, not Division
    Think COALITION citizens!

      • Yvonne,

        I agree to a point,
Palin is social conservative ONLY and I would make her the Washington DC dog catcher, maybe.

But the Tea Party, Constitutionalists, and others are far right of the NeoCon Republican party which is just left of center now.

I'm looking for a political solution and the Libertarian Party simply doesn't have the political weight to vie for a government seat. Heck even Ron Paul came back to the Republican ticket to get back in the game. When he was the Libertarian presidential candidate he got a mere 2%

        What's your gut solution???

    • Corporations and individuals both try to control government actions against them. Would you expect anything different? I dont blame corporations, I blame the morons that keep sending representatives to government that utilize the system to benfit themselves like Dodd, Frank, Lautenburg, Himes, Rangel, Dingell, Reid, etc. Term limits in any government position would solve much of this problem. For instance no one could serve in any elected office for more than 2 terms and no more than 4 terms total in multiple elected offices. Thus the citizen legislator would become a reality and the incentive to stay in office would be eliminated. Maybe then rational and rationalized government would become a reality.

Another solution I find quite palpable is a Sarbanes Oxley disclosure and liability law for elected officials. Failure to disclose opens the official to unlimited liability. Or how about a clawback rule requiring public officials be personally financially responsible for failed policies that cost the public money.

As one who is on Wall Street, I am sick of blame for something many of us said was wrong with the government's regulatory structure. CRA (community responsiblity act) was directly responsible for the disaster in the mortgage arena. Deny as much as they want but it is truth. A Fed that expands its balance to the point of breaking the whole nation is a Fed that need to be audited regularly. The treasury should also be auditied for how it uses the exchange stabilization fund. I personally believe it is an active trader in derivative linked securities affecting stock exchanges.
