Ron Paul Congratulates Michael Steele

Congressman Ron Paul today issued the following statement on Michael Steele’s recent comments that Afghanistan is a war of President Obama’s choosing:

“I would like to congratulate Michael Steele for his leadership on one of the most important issues of today. He is absolutely right: Afghanistan is now Obama’s war. During the 2008 campaign, Obama was out in front in insisting that more troops be sent to Afghanistan. Obama called for expanding the war even as he pretended to be a peace candidate.

“Michael Steele should not resign. Smart policies make smart politics. He is guiding the party in the right direction and we are on the verge of victory this fall. Chairman Steele should not back off. He is giving the country, especially young people, hope as he speaks truth about this war.

“I have to ask myself, what is the agenda of the harsh critics demanding this resignation? Why do they support Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama’s war?

“The American people are sick and tired spending hundreds of billions of dollars a year, draining our economy and straining our military. Michael Steele has it right and Republicans should stick by him.”

Yes, Congradulations Steele for reversing your position on partisanship alone.

In related news Rachael Madow from MSNBC dons a burka and travels to Afghanistan to promote Obama’s “new” War.

  • Mr. Steele is right! This is Obama’s war, Obama is pursuing the same strategies as Dubya! & thanks Dr. Paul for continuing to be a true voice for Liberty and Freedom. I wish these other people in Washington would learn from you, because You could be their teacher, becuase they don’t know how to be constitutional.

I tried to send an email to Representative Steele two days ago. I don’t know if it was the correct address. I thanked him for his comments and asked that he would be brave and stop backing down and allowing himself to be bullied by the media.
I don’t know any real time human beings who disagred with Rep. Steele’s comments so where did the political machine get the audacity to call for his resignation?
Then Dr. Paul comes out in support of him as well.
Dr. Paul is wihtout a doubt the voice of the people.
    He represents the American citizens.
The media propoganda machine has to be stopped.
Did you see the CNN clip fromyesterday, how they tried to distort Ron Paul’s facial features? Doesn’t that make CNN look ridiculous? What an infantile attempt to make someone look bad. The war mongering propoganda media machine is becoming desperate because we the people know they are fools.
When the interviewer asked Ron Paul ”didn’t Rep. Steele state incorrect facts and aren’t you lying”? ; Ron Paul paused and said ”well…I think you’re lying right now”…….
He is the voice of the people.
How many of us want to look these newsmen in the eye and say ”you’re lying”….
    I love Ron Paul

This is Obama’s war. No strategic or absolute need to be there. That is why Bush’s only interest there was the elimination of Bin Ladin. Expansion of the premise of this war is entirely of Obama’s making. Its high time he is cut off at the knees for this total abhorrent stupidity. Go to the polls this fall and eliminate this nonsensical policy by voting against incumbent leftists and in the process celebrate the end of Obama’s horrific reign of terror on decent law abiding tax paying citizens.

  • Dr. Paul,
God bless you. You are the one voice of sanity that has spoken repeatedly in support of common sense and the ideals of our wise and inspired Founders.
We need to…we must get out of Afghanistan as soon as possible.
It is beyond tragic how many good and earnest souls have been sacrificed on the altar of false Neocon Ideology in the name of “Freedom” and “patriotism.”
Thank you for your courage to proclaim the truth. Thanks to the voters of the Texas 14th, who have repeatedly had the courage to reelect you to buttress the hopes of those of us out of the 14th who believe Liberty is still a feasible hope in this land given over to the totalitarianism and tyranny we presently endure. You have not only given me hope in American Liberty but in politics as a viable process––all we need is to wake up and get educated.
