I can’t figure it out. Unless you are after power or fame, being a congress person would be a terrible job. Most states are deeply in debt with little hope of a turnaround. Why would you run for an office when, even if you win, you will be faced with numerous problems with no solution? How could any candidate run on a platform of balancing the budget? Unless they have a 20 year plan they are not serious. Because that is the scope of this problem. I believe I would take my law degree elsewhere.

    theres several solutions to this.

    1. We can reuse old computers to make new and better ones
    2. I can learn how to mine it
    3. I can have someone who is a miner give me it
    4. We can develop more sophisticated mining technology and take the human out of the equation. People can come together to work towards this goal as well

    why not have public transportation?

he benefits from more computers because it helps push the society forward, something he would have a logical interest in.

its easy. If you need a house, you take from the earth and create the house. If you want to make a computer, you simply organize a system that would operate very similarly to a business (minus the profit motive, they would be motivated by the love of their field)

Its not like money magically makes raw materials into something useful, people who had the opportunity to choose, made a decision to go into those fields because they found them interesting. Response 2/2

thats your problem, you dont have any idea what socialism is. Socialism is the workers control of the means of production, with this demands Democracy over the economic sphere, one vote for every person with their basic needs met. Nobody can be discriminated.

Nazism was Fascism, and only that. Theres a reason Hitler glorified Sparta as the first Fascist state and saw it as a model for Germany at the time.

“living space” has no bearing on this argument. response 1/2

No it wasnt, it wasnt even close. Socialism demands equality at its core, if theres no equality, theres no socialism.

Nazism is fascism. Them being socialist is like me starting a political party that is extremely capitalistic, but calling it socialist. just because the term socialist in in a party does NOT mean its socialist. You can name a party whatever you want to. Socialism is not just another term for big government. Quite the opposite, actually.

not true, with socialism you have no need to tie yourself down with forms of property because you have rights to the property society produces. in other words, if i want to do something productive, i dont need the money first, and that goes for everyone. Socialism is full speed ahead, while capitalism stagnates and largely benefits from public funding

there has yet to be a socialist country. the very term socialist country is contradictory in and of its self.
Socialism is the only system devised that actually grants a human being the right to life and freedom, its unfortunate that its only ever been tried on extremely small scales.

your idea of freedom is dealing with a dictator 8 hours a day, or homesteading, which is prison by property rights.

socialism grants one more freedoms than those that exist in a capitalist republic. You have the right to the fruits of society. With capitalism, you must be someones servant for roughly 8 hours a day just to get by.

If you study Aristotles justification for Slavery, youll find that the same arguments are often applied while justifying capitalism.

A slave can become free if he serves his master with hard work
You can become wealthy, if you serve your customers and boss well

On the contrary, you need to pick up a history book, and on top of that, you need to actually read the communist manifesto, and stop having jackasses from fox news try and trick you. Because thats exactly what theyre doing, tricking you. If you read what communists have said about the ideaology THEY formed, youll quickly realize its not what youre being told it is.

A republic is merely a system where the political class decide things for me. Thats not freedom, and it is fascistic.

Why would I want to live in Nazi Germany, if im a socialist, who admits the end result in Communism is a good society?

You do realize Nazi’s hated Communism, right? Fascism is fundamentally opposed to Socialism and Communism. Fascism is closer related to what Ron Paul suggests than Communism or Socialism.

You have MORE freedom in a Socialist or Communist society.

It’s a game to them, the watch with incredible satisfaction as we cherry pick data to prove it’s our “side” that is the good guys and “the other side” is the bad guys. We don’t have a grasp of the real sides! It’s not Dems and Repubs. it’s little peons (us, not in govt.) v rulers (our politicians) and the rulers are winning as we argue over phony issues!

Part of your premise is sort of correct (though very selective in your attention to details, typical partisanship) but what you don’t seem to get is that what you find wrong with Reagan is exactly what was wrong with his predecessors. They ALL grew government and government is the problem. They were able to do this because of the Fed., income tax and the 1913 reduction of representative levels.

the problem with the market idea is that it never ends up the way libertarians sell it. it always results in someone gaining power over another. this is why socialism is the only path to true progress. many people are severely limited by the market system, and if you want the best society possible its best to take off the chains.

Ron Paul’s ideals are the closest to the ideals of the founding fathers in Washington D.C. If America was a basketball team Ron Paul would be Micheal Jordan and the current times are the championship game against China. Why would America bench the best player we got during the most important game of our lives ? China uses tyranny to make it’s self strong, America needs to embrace freedom because Freedom is the only thing stronger than tyranny.

Is Paul aware that we are finally pursuing those who attacked us? We diverted resources for the foolish and costly pursuit of oil &revenge. Al Qaeda was allowed to escape with false pretenses of WMD. WE allowed it and failed to defend our Constitution because of fear! Shame!

They mention the Fed and forget how 9/11 was used (and continues to be used) to scare people into supporting these foreign interventions. They scare foreign states into complying because “Al Qaeda” is always somehow the resistance group that wants to topple dictators. Obama has used the 9/11 card to militarily interfere with over 75 countries since entering office. Over a dozen more than the number which Bush got involved with in order to “fight Al Qaeda”.

Let’s go to a gold standard! Check it out, the Fed has about 147 million ounces of gold and M3 is about 15 trillion so for every dollar you have, you can be the proud owner of 1 millionth of an ounce of gold! So if gold is $1225/ounce now and bread is about $3 a loaf, then when you destroy the Fed and put us on your wonderful gold standard that same loaf of bread will cost $2,450.00! Anyone with an ounce of gold in their pocket will be a millionaire! What a wonderful world that will be.

Okay, im seeing a problem here in regards to the end the fed issue which we do need to understand. I agree, we need to end the fed, but we have a little problem here in that there are still people thinking that ending the fed will solve the problems. We need to abolish banking, all banking, any form of banking. Abolish the whole damn concept of private interest on money, completely, totally, and absolutely. Andrew Jackson killed the central bank but he didn’t kill all the banks, by the early 1900′s we had the Federal Reserve and while we didnt have it, all the other private banks could still crash the economy anytime and in any way they wanted too anyway.

Money enables the trade of tangible products and services between people for each others benefit, interest removes that means of trade from them and establishes power for the one charging the interest at the expense of that trade and the people. If there is to be interest, then let it be on loans from the people to the people where it can fund other public services instead of taxes and go immediately back into circulaton and continue to generate more trade and production. Thats the only form in which it can be tolerated and where it cannot be accumulated to buy power.

Power exists at the expense of freedom, freedom is established by destroying power. How do you establish power over someone ? By making them poor and dependent on the person estabishing the power. How do you make people poor and dependent on someones power ? By controlling their means of trade and/or charging them interest, thus restricting and diminishing their ability to exchange the useful things they can do for each other. Any entity which takes payment and does not generate some form of tangible product or service toward someones benefit, exists as a parasite, can only exist through establishing power and can only maintain its existence through establishing more power, in other words, Banks, all Banks, Central Banks, big Banks, little Banks, each and every Bank. How do we establish and secure everlasting freedom and rich, abundant and ever increasing prosperity for ourselves ?. Kill all the Banks, Central Banks, big Banks, little Banks, each and every Bank.

Its about time that everyone got it through their heads that if were going to maintain a free, consistent, reliable, prosperous and growing private enterprise system, that we need our own debt free public currency to fuel it, which is created, owned and controlled only and exclusively by the population that it serves, so that it can be consistently and reliably created and issued in order to generate and maximize real production and prosperity and can remain in circulation to continue to generate real production and prosperity without being bled off incrementally by parasites who contribute nothing to these things. Anything else is sheer idiocy. Just think about the sheer and incredible stupidity of letting our production and prosperity be controlled by money, as opposed to controlling money to create production and prosperity. How incredibly stupid is it of us, to have tolerated a system which can come crashing down any time banks decide to make it do that, shut down our useful production creating poverty for everyone when there has been absolutely no change in our capacity for useful production ?. Why is the American population existing in the worst state of poverty that the country has seen in 70 years and facing the imminent destruction of their lives and freedoms today, when we have the means and resources within our hands right now, today and at this very moment, to create an abundance and a standard of living for ourselves 30 times what it has ever been in the past ?. Because we have banks who create and control the money and charge interest on it so we always have less instead of more, and if they didn’t create and control it, and only charged interest on it, we’d still reach the same end, only a little more slowly. How can we have this abundance and standard of living 30 times what it has ever been in the past, instantly, today, immediately and at any time we choose and then make it 60 and 100 times and more what it has ever been in the past ? Kill all the banks, Central Banks, big Banks, little Banks, each and every Bank. Then create all the money we need for ourselves, control it ourselves and to our own benefit, so that it can actually enable us to produce and trade for the maximum extent of what were capable of producing, always and consistently.

What is a free economy ? Money serving us.

What is slavery ? Us serving money = Banking.

How do we abolish slavery, establish permanent economic freedom and permanently secure our political freedoms as well ? Kill all the Banks, Central Banks, big Banks, little Banks, each and every Bank. Then create and manage our own money ourselves, all of the money, every single penny of it and make it serve us.

Once again, I will ask everyone who hasn’t done so yet to take 5 minutes, and actually think about and consider carefully, the incredible stupidity of our current economic system, and the incomprehensible stupidity of people in tolerating it thus far. I guess thats what happens when people don’t want to think and just trust and believe and do what they are told, it makes them stupid. At this point though and by the millions every day, they are figuring out that they can’t afford to be stupid anymore, they are starting to think and look for and understand solutions and the power has not yet been established to prevent them from acting on what they figure out. As long as they get it right and kill every single bank, then it will be money serving us instead of controlling us. It will continue to do so for all time to come and we will be its master and it will not be ours. If one single bank is left alive, then it never can and never will. Are we really stupid enough to do this…..AGAIN ? Are we really stupid enough to cast aside all thought, sense, observation, experience, history and reason, in order to trust and believe some economic theorists who say this can work, when they can’t even get inflation right ?. The proof of an intelligent man is to learn from mistakes, the proof of an idiot is to keep repeating them, what are we ?

I suppose i’ll have to say this again before someone asks “but where would we deposit our paychecks and loan money to buy a house ?”. The United States Treasury, your local branch, in the same building where you do it now probably with many of the same employees you deal with now, only it would be our treasury, yours and mine, and would exist to make us rich instead of to make us poor. Think outside that stupid little box people and imagine how things can be instead of how they have are. There is not one single new thing which has ever been created nor one single benefit brought to mankind without someone doing so.

Is there anyone here aside from forest and fred, who is still not understanding this ?

You’ve got it havoc, we only need government to do a very few things, and that is maintain the essential public services which are absolutely necessary to each of us in order to function with each other. One of these is our public road and transportation system, of which we have the very best in the world. The second of these is each and every aspect of the creation and issue of the currency we need to trade with, IE all of the people and absolutely no more banks. This is the one thing they will not do, have never done and will never do and the F’ing Banks have managed to cheat, bribe, blackmail and corrupt our mainstream politicans into giving them the power to do it instead. Ron Paul seems to be the only exception now.

If we the people as individuals and through mass collective action can first kill America’s banks, each and every one of them, then we may have a chance to elect Ron Paul and others like him, and we can have a standard of living 30 times what it has ever been, given a currency designed to maximize and allow for the natural growth of our production capacity, this will just keep increasing geometrically. If not then we will never have a chance to vote for him, and within a couple of years, the nothing which we have today will be less than nothing and the banks will even own us too.

Here’s an excerpt from an article on “free trade” from Lew Rockwell’s site. Apparently he is a bit less “conformist” in what he allows on his site than this one is:

It seems the American middle class was sold a false bill of goods. They bought the Big Lie that globalization would benefit them. They bought into the delusion that even though their high paying manufacturing jobs sailed away to China and India, they could maintain their lifestyle through brain work, easy credit, cheap goods made in China by the people who took their jobs, and the ever increasing value of their homes. Noam Chomsky notes the fallacy of this delusion:

“The dominant propaganda systems have appropriated the term “globalization” to refer to the specific version of international economic integration that they favor, which privileges the rights of investors and lenders, those of people being incidental.”

Again, one must seek out who benefits from the delusion of globalization. The crony capitalists, Wall Street oligarchs, and corporate fascists who control the puppet strings in this country have benefited greatly from the Big Lie. Over 5 million manufacturing jobs have been off-shored since 2000. These good paying jobs are never coming back. Millions of service sector jobs continue to be shipped overseas. The global conglomerates like GE, HP, Oracle, IBM, and Boeing continue to rake in billions of profits, distributing millions to its high paid executives, while gutting middle class America. The ruling oligarchs convinced Americans to take advantage of cheap goods and easy credit, to buy electronics, cars, appliances, new kitchens, and take the vacations of their dreams. This Big Lie has left the American consumer with $2.5 trillion of non-mortgage debt and the lowest level of home equity in history. Retailers like Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, and Best Buy reaped billions in profits as Americans whipped out one of their 10 credit cards to buy HDTV’s, economy bags of tube socks, iPads, iPods, stainless steel refrigerators, and Dell computers. Small town America’s mom and pop economy was gutted by Big Box retailers selling the globalization delusion. The biggest beneficiaries of the globalization delusion were the Wall Street banks. They control 80% of credit card market and have reaped billions in interest at rates exceeding 20%, while sucking $20 billion per year in late fees from the clueless public. Wall Street bankers have rewarded themselves for their brilliance in destroying the middle class by reaping multi-million dollar bonus packages. – Jim Quinn on Lew Rockwell.com

Riiiight, because The Fed is clearly responsible for globalization and trade agreements. As well, banks forced people to buy products using credit cards. Hell, I bet they probably even financed the HAARP program and are looking to control the weather and cause earthquakes too? What a joke.

Man, you Paulians simply blame everything on the Fed, huh? As if *poof* evil was created on December 23, 1913 and everything before then was just magical unicorns prancing around utopia.

Are you saying there are not 9 stout hearted men on these message boards? I mean, where is the 10,000,000 that were promised?

This is actually a good post Dfens.

I have no problem with the concept of free trade, it’s the so well illustrated corruption, fraud and collusion of the banking system, the governments they “elect” and the big corporations which they sponsor that is the problem, and ends up robbing the consumer for 5/6ths of their productive effort every month in mortgage interest and taxes. Then issuing ever more credit in order to sucker the public into buying the cheap preprogrammed obsolesence crap sold by the corporations which consumes another 2/3 of the 1/6ths that’s left by making people keep replacing things they have already bought. Then with this they can grab the remaining 1/3 of the 1/6th in credit card interest so that the people have nothing. Then they stop the credit flow and shut down our useful production so the people can have less than nothing, shutting down the economy by removing our means of trade, killing independent business for good, crashing the share value of the corporations so the banks can buy them all up cheap, so the Banks can own the entire country, all its resources and industry, where absolutely nothing can happen independently of them, at which point they institute the final evolution of a socialist police state and establish ownership of the people themselves. As i’ve said before, I’m an immigrant to America and have seen this all happen before, were fast moving into the final stage right now.

The entire American economy is a delusion, there is no such thing as an American economy, it belongs to the banks who can control and manipulate it at will to buy ever more power and ownership of America for themselves. We don’t even have an American dollar, we have federal reserve notes and bank credit, which belong to and are created by banks for the single and only purpose of raping the population for everything they own until they have nothing left. We don’t even have money, a federal reserve note isn’t money, its Bank debt, which is the only way it can come into circulation, so it can only keep taking more prosperity from us than it generates. We have no means to pay for or generate any form of useful production except at the will and mercy of Banks and it must always become less instead of more because of this. If people are finally going to be wise enough stop believing the delusion, and kill off the whole damn system, and at this point i think they will. Then create a real American dollar through their elected congress and put it into circulation through the treasury that they themselves own instead of banks, then we will have a real American economy, and a real and truly free, private, sustainable and evolving enterprise system with unlimited prosperity for all who participate in it The trick is the participants owning and controlling their own means of exchange.

Then let there be free trade too, it costs the corporations 96 cents to make a dollar and they farm out their work overseas in order save a penny and make a full nickel. When independent business like myself manufactures something here in America, it costs us 30 – 60 cents to make a dollar depending on what we make, we can generally compete with their price on most things, and actually make something good instead of having to design it to break down so we can make those 5 pennies over, and over and over again. I make them all in one single shot, one time to one person and then they have something they can use for the rest of their lives and never have to buy again. Given a choice, what would people want to buy ? It’s the last thing the banks want though, because they can’t control me, and if they can’t control me, then they can’t control you either, and if they can’t control you then how can they exist as they contribute nothing real. They can only create delusion, and can only survive by deluding you into giving them control. Just give yourself your own real dollar instead of a “Bank Note” to pay for what we can do and then we can all do it for you too, and be able to do an awful lot more for you than we ever have before, simply because for every new and real thing we can do, you can create a new and real dollar to buy it.

      NO BANKS, NO DELUSION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, you bozo’s have all the answers when it comes to banking. Here’s another excerpt from an article on Lew Rockwell’s site:

But soon after that, gold began to leave Ft Knox and was shipped to the foreign persons and institutions who ponied up their $35 in Federal Reserve Notes for each troy ounce of gold they wanted. At some point in the 1950s, $35 became too cheap a price for gold.

From then until 1972, at least 75% of official US gold left the nation in exchange for paper dollars which can be printed at will. However, I think the total amount of real gold which remains is even less. The exact amount that remains is now officially listed at 147.3 million ounces. From the peak, that is a decline of 79%.

In 1988, 22 years ago, I wrote a book about Fort Knox, the gold there, and the documented history of official lies, evasions and incompetence of those who were entrusted with the gold.

I say “documented history” because when writing the book, I was very careful to only include official documents and private correspondence from the US government, stretching from 1934 to 1987. Using their own responses to the questions of just how much gold is left, and what that gold’s quality is, for the first time this book put all these governmental attempts to answer the questions about their own gold policies in one place. What their responses revealed was shocking to me.

Nothing since 1988 has happened to change my views — Chris Weber on LewRockwell.com

Am I the only one who can do the math? We owe your buddies the Communist Chinese $7 trillion. That’s 5.7 billion ounces of gold at today’s price of $1,225/oz. Am I the only one who sees a problem with the US government trying to back up $7 trillion of debt — to only one country, though our biggest creditor just one country — with what is at most, at the very most, $180 billion in gold assets? What the hell are you people smoking?

Oh wait, I know, you’re going to socialize mining, right? You’re going to put all of your Libertarian “political enemies” to work in the gold mines you will take over when Ron Paul is elected so you can store their output in Ft. Knox. I’m sure you’ll be happy to do that at least until we can pay off all our paper debt to China with hard asset gold. After all, what’s really important is that you people continue to please your Communist Chinese masters, right?

Do you Libertarians have any solutions that will work? Just one? All you are really about is scapegoats and blame games. Meanwhile this nation has real problems that demand real solutions. Maybe you want to get on board with reality some time soon.

Chomsky, Dfens; a business will always operate in whatever parameters are given to them, no matter how restrictive or free market, and those parameters today are Free Trade. It’s not the business’s fault, it is Free Trade which is at fault and the Libertarian/Neocons who passed those Free Trade laws. I never blamed “Walmart”, I always blamed the Libertarian/Neocons.

I can’t say I never blamed Walmart. After Sam died they did a lot to lobby for the current trade predicament. I have the same problem with Government Motors. It would be one thing for them to take public money to stay in business if they’d been an advocate for our govenrment protecting our jobs, but instead they were on the front lines when it came to lobbying for free trade agreements. They wanted free trade so they could stick it to the unions and move all their manufacturing to Mexico, Canada, and Communist Red China. Hard for me to feel bad for them when the very trade deals they wanted ran them out of business even as their executives made hundreds of millions sucking the blood out of the bloated carcass. It’s time for Americans to take America back!

The management to laborer wage ratio change cited by blevr1234 is largely due to government intervention and globalization. Many managers make about 1.2-2.0 times more than the staff they supervise, which is hardly objectionable. The numbers are skewed by a few corporations in collusion with government. Give me an example of an industry regulated by government where competition subsequently increased… The merger fests typically occur in highly regulated and/or unionized industries.

interesting thing to note, if you’ve studied economics is the function of money:
    1. as a medium of exchange (instead of barter)
    2. as a store of wealth
    3. as a unit of account (i.e. way to determine price)

Unfortunately with the way the government manipulates numbers (BLS stats, M2, M3 numbers, inflation, government accounting etc.) the ‘unit of account’ function doesn’t really work; the ‘store of wealth’ is definitely not there (if you kept 1 months salary from 1960 in cash, it would be worth next to nothing today).

So the only good thing about the US$ is that its still accepted as a medium of exchange.

    Until its not.

Interesting thing, if you have any common sense, studied economics, or are a real ‘merican (cool how I can just toss groundless phrases like that, huh?) that Gold is money, and serves the functions of:

      1. as a medium of exchange (instead of barter)
      2. as a store of wealth
      3. as a unit of account (i.e. way to determine price)

Unfortunately with the way the private industry manipulates supply and demand (GLD etfs, GATA, CRIMEX, international leasing of gold, Chinese widescale purchasing of gold production, etc…) the ‘unit of account’ function doesn’t really work; the ’store of wealth’ is definitely not there (if you kept 1 ounce of gold bought in 1980, you would only be able to buy the equivalent of half as many fiat doelarrs would be).

It’s amazing how, once you enter the Ron Paul conspiracy wormhole, that nothing is safe – unless it really is…

Well to consider money # 2 is foolish, # 3 in redundant in view of # 1, and it can’t perform 1 # anymore because your F’ing Banks have taken it all out of circulation.

Is it starting to sink in to everyone just how incredibly insane and foolish it is for all of us not being able to get rich exchanging all of the wonderful and useful things we can do for each other today simply because we allow banks to exist and remove our means of trade any time they decide to do so ?

Is anyone beginning to grasp the incredible stupidity of this ?

Is anyone beginning to figure out that we need to kill them, take back what they have stolen from us, and create and manage this means of trade for ourselves, and just how simple and easy it would be to do so, so that it can accomplish # 1 to the greatest extent of what we can actually do, always and consistently ?

People should be smart enough to not depend on #2, but #1 and #3 are always solid.

Of course the Libertarian’tards think #2 is sacrosanct when in reality it is the least important function of money.
