Each religion has it’s own laws, bible.. Voodoo, Sataniam, christianity etc., I do not disagree, people have there right to do their own thing. To me, It’s all about respect given to our fellow man and showing compassion. example: If your child had gotten hit and killed by a vehicle. and these people who person killed the child erected a shine for the one who killed the child Would that be morally right to do? Would you join in to build this shrine? Sensitiveity has become numb

No Mr Robert, this is not what my intentions were about infriging on the rights and liberites of other but isn’t this mosque building event infriging on the rights of the people who have lost their loved ones? probably not heh? The basic Values and morals just take a back seat?..This is the point I am trying to make! .. but when it comes down to this sharia law, that is criminal..and this leads into a whole new ballgame called abuse. Domestic Violence will not be tolerated…

so in other words you want to be infringing on the constitutional rights and liberties of others because you find something offensive? want to go down that road do you? then we must outlaw all products that come from cows, it offends hindus. we will outlaw homosexuality, it offends christians. we will outlaw swear words, they offend old people. we will out law free speech of anykind, just in case someone takes offense.

Just to put this out there, I don’t know anyone down here south of ATL, are upset about any damn Mosque or any other structure or building.

At least not where I’m at.

It seems that people have reacted the way the Elite knew the gullible ones in our society would react.

You can lie over and over to “We The People” and just because we want to believe the lies we fool ourselves into believing that they are telling us the truth

Never mind how many times they get caught lying and have no proof.

Why can’t they have a center there. Timothy McVeigh was a Christian so does that mean you can’t build a church near the Federal Building in Oklahoma?
I fight/fought for our eroding rights, because the constitution is being dismantled from the inside out starting from the Elite to the Government that they control.
You actually believe 19 MUSLIMS…lol, sorry bout that…anyway, with box cutters did 911? If you believe that then it explains your comment!
    I respect your opinion though

Dr. Paul is right, I don’t like it but he’s right. I do think it’s a bad move and arrogant for them to put it there. Somewhere else but not there. Just poor PR and looks bad.

Supporting a plan for a mosque at or near ground zero is naive. We need to get past the idea of freedom from religion becasue it doesn’t apply here. Name a country where Islam has spread, gained political power and they have remained moderate and tolerant of others- you can’t because that country doesn’t exist.

As a whole, Islam has proven itself to be intoerant and should be stopped from spreading in America. Never thought it would get to this point but it’s here.

Whats up with this Sharia Law? Are not these laws muslim laws?? Correct? They have the option to beat their women?? Devaluing them..! is this what America is about now?? Yes, freedom of religion.I believe,.But when it relates to be able to commit criminal acts of violence NO! If a person permits these acts in our country, then God is crying.. This country was built in the eyes of God , Not Allah. One Nation Under God will be taken out.., it already had been taken away from our schools

(contd) There are already over 100 mosques in NYC, this is a trophy mosque without the intention of “outreach.” The plans for this mosque were drawn up just a few months after 9/11. This is not a simple property rights issue, unfortunately. Muslims have all the freedom in America to worship just like Christians. This is all political fodder.

I do agree, however, with Dr. Paul that we should decrease defense spending abroad and budget domestic govt spending while returning to limited govt.

i really respect Ron Paul, but I have to disagree with him here. I don’t disagree that there are peaceful Muslims in the world, but there are a vast number of Muslims who hate America (the reasons are numerous and historically in depth).

Sharia law is disgusting and undermines everything Ron Paul stands for as it undermines the Constitution with its own court system. Look at Europe and all the trouble they’re having with Islam (and they largely haven’t committed the intervention we have).

how many people question where evangelical christians get their money for their churches. It’s unfair to point them out. Also most Muslim mosque would probably somewhere down the line unfortunately would have a radical or conservative contributer. Like Ron Paul for ex., he’ll take you money but may not support what you stand for

BUSTED! One of the financial backers of the 9-11 Mosque, Hisham Elzanaty gave $6,000 to the Holy Land Foundation in 1999 which existed solely to support Hamas. Don’t forget, CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terror trial…Peaceful Muslims would not hang around with these scumbags, nor would they insist on humiliating America by building the 9-11 Mosque to glorify the 19 hijackers, naming it Cortoba and projecting to open it on the 10th anniversary of 9-11.

Useful idiots think Imam Rauf is a “moderate” Muslim, but when Barbara Walters asked him in 2006 if he thinks suicide bombers will go to heaven or to hell, Rauf would not answer the obvious, and danced around the issue. If you can’t even condemn suicide bombers in general or Hamas directly for being a terrorist organization you are NOT a moderate. You are EXACTLY what we are warning the American people against.

Great interview!! Thank-you for giving Ron Paul a chance to speak his mind without interuption. I hear him speak in the MSM and they rush him along with interuptions and change of pace as well as topic continuously, as though they want the air time for the liberty crowd, but not the message. In doing so the MSM can claim to be “fair and balanced” without risking the whole message being released.

Americans are waking up and finding that we don’t want to become Britain, or Serbia, places where the liberties were eroded and then conquered by Sharia. There are those around the world that recognize Islam for what it is– and I cannot believe Ron defending this Mosque without going to the underlying motivation of Faisal Rauf’s REAL STAND on making America Sharia Compliant. We are STILL the GREAT SATAN to them.

This is too rich. Libertarians defending Islam, a system completely opposed to our understanding of freedom and rights, of human decency and morality. Does the word USEFUL IDIOT mean anything to you? Because you really have to be ignorant of history and recent events to conclude only moderate mosques are being built in the US.

I can’t believe Ron Paul has abandoned the creed that the price of liberty is ETERNAL VIGILANCE. He seems to think only the US government has the goal of limiting liberty.

You people should really read about the communist doctrine of demoralization. Also the Islamic doctrine of al-Taqqiya. Ron Paul has principles… true. But principles to have any weight must be confronted to the cold hard reality.

You keep posting over and over …

They have to right to do what the want on their own property. People have the right to be upset and even protest peacefully … the government has no right to interfere.

Regardless of what religion it is and what that religion preaches … they have the freedom in the US to do so. If they don’t, then there is no freedom of religion.

I’m not a mind reader, I haven’t look through every little thing about the funder’s past and his views, I just know that in a free nation he has the right to do what he’s doing.
Maybe everyone misunderstands, maybe they understand perfectly. It doesn’t matter. The basic fundamentals of liberty and our Constitution should prevail.
The controversy should have ended there.

But as Ron points out- the more hatred towards Muslims, the easier it is to keep people deceived about these wars.
