Congressman Ron Paul, called “the one exception to the Gang of 535” on Capitol Hill, will speak at the inaugural Virginia Tea Party Patriots Convention in Richmond, Va. on Oct. 8-9.
Rep. Paul will open the Saturday general session prior to the National Policy forum with an inspiring address on how America can restore the balance of power between the people, states, and federal government.
“Rep. Ron Paul is principled, fearless, and completely dedicated to preserving the Constitution and the fiscal soundness of America,” says Jamie Radtke, Chairman of the Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation. “We are honored he will be a part of the Virginia Tea Party Patriot Convention.”
Congressman Paul, who also is a physician, tirelessly works for limited, constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In 1976, Rep. Paul was one of only four Republican congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for president.
A brief overview of Congressman Paul’s record includes:
- He has never voted to raise taxes.
- He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
- He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
- He has never taken a government-paid junket.
- He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
