Why not the private owners start a new kind of program where they document customers?

Then they share this information with the other companies through some kind of secure medium?

You can be a frequent flier, and you'll never have to go through any outrageous security except for a metal detector, perhaps, because the companies trust customers that trust them.

Wake up America. The USA invades Afghanistan in 2001. Just today Obama says he expects to have combat troops there thru 2015. What? That's 14 f&#king years. WWII was 4 years. The military industrial complex is the only winner in this fiasco. Someone has to wake up. These perpetual wars in the mid east are a joke and the joke is on the American people.

The only problem that I can see with privatizing the security for airlines, is that if there were some airlines that chose to be "weak" on security, to speed up the loading process, it may endanger more than just the customers whom chose to fly on that airline. As we've seen in 2001, sometimes passenger jets may be used as weapons.

How would handing the responsibility over to the airlines change everything? The customers would choose to either fly on what they feel are the safest airlines, or would choose to travel on the fastest loading airlines. Airlines would implement the most cost beneficial system of security. They could include all systems that we've seen or new ones, but the customer would decide. Perhaps their saftey measures would include armed security on the flight.

What is the TSA looking for? Weapons, explosives and contriband. Metal detectors can detect metal weapons and metal contriband. Dogs can smell explosives and drugs and other illicit materials. What else is there? I suppose there are plastic weapons or odorless substances. Is the full body scanner the best way to find those things?

Time for a cavity search. The next bomber will be the cavity boomber. He packs his poop shoot full of plastic explosives. The safest way to fly is not to fly at all.

:49 notice he says "you view this as...abuse of government power"

As if it is a matter of opinion. It is abuse of government power. I agree the other person's comment that was just posted, enforce the Constitution!

And you know they are giving you a raw deal when they try to force an 'either, or' on the public. Either it's government abuse or terrorists will get us. There's the bogeyman again!

Question never asked: does this woman go through the TSA screening process every time she flies like the "peon" citizens? Of course NOT! She was "Homeland Security Advisor" in Bush Administration and currently is on the "Homeland Security Advisory Board." So of course, she has "government security clearance," she boards planes without going through these lines. Just like the Congressmen, President, and rich with private jets. Probably making millions off machines like sleazo Chertoff.

The government already is barred from touching you or taking your naked picture. It is called a unreasonable search and siezer. Just inforce the constitution. The constitution is a law against teh president and his appointees and also the congress and there laws. The constitution is the peoples law against the government

That woman was never patted down or prodded you can see her lying expression. She's even dismissive of the idea of handing the burden off to the airlines themselves. Looks like the terrorists are winning over the regular americans and have been for the last 10 year depression-recession that has followed.

That is where Ron Paul is a fraud and a parrot. The government's involvement is irrelevant. Private enterprise would do the same thing, maybe worse. There are many cases of private enterprise encroaching on peoples rights. Ron Paul would also know most gov. agencies are run by people in the industry or on advice from people in the industry. He just parrots the anti government line to protect his rich corporate friends and all the suckers think hes protecting our rights. lol

Why is there even a debate over this? It's wisdom from the founding of this country that when you sacrifice liberty for safety you lose both.

Paul's argument really does not make sense, that private owners can do a better job. Private owners would then be able to be just as intrusive as the government. Corporate tyranny is just as bad as government tyranny. Paul looked like a fool in my mind.

Seems to me like Terrorwarrior works for the neocon, zionist shill media..or just a paid provocateur (actually they're the same) because we know that the progressives and the neocons hate Ron and Rand Paul. Every time you get into a car to drive, you have significant risk of death from car crash. It doesn't matter how careful of a driver you are, all it takes is 1 other car to do something wrong and ram you head on.
Yet we don't have draconian security measures for driving, even tho deaths are much greater. What makes the airplane so special? Why is 1 life in the air worth 1000 lives on the ground? This isn't right.

I'm a Paul supporter but reading the comments here gets old after a while. I don't understand why so many people are always shocked when someone who works for the government defends their policy. Was anyone really expecting someone at Homeland Security to agree with Paul? The point of a debate is to discuss opposing views and win an arguement via superior reason.

Disagreeing with Paul makes someone misguided or ill-informed at best, but people really need to calm down with all the hysterics.
