Dr.Paul is truley a great American and I would love to see him in the Whitehouse. However, most Americans see him as someone who would keep American soldiers at home. This is something he has said many times and I concur. The majority of voting Americans,I believe, are not be happy to be at peace. They like being a military superpower.

Dr Paul keeps saying that America may be finally waking up… I wish he were right. No one seems to care about repealing the so-called Patriot Act, and I don’t see the TSA waking up enough people. A week ago 82% of Americans supported the removal of the 4th Amendment… I mean the enhanced TSA screenings. Once they see what it really is maybe more will complain.

The government and the economy ours to control, but only if we have the strength of will to make it happen. We The People.

The main point is… Countries that trade don’t war with each other. It’s bad for business… And unless there is some incredible circumstances (like a World War), and countries have to decide to continue with a strategic trade alliance, or honor an alliance with its warring nation… There is NO WAY countries will war with each other.

No countries in the history of the world have ever gone to war when they are substantial trading partners. Trade kills war. Ron… It’s too bad you don’t calculate the lives of other nations as well in your total cost of the war. It’s that attitude that have you guys in this mess to begin with.

If we don’t elect a Libertarian like Ron Paul our nation and this whole world is going down the tubes. Wake the F up people. Our founding fathers were Libertarians. The Dem’s and GOP Congress are a criminal conspiracy. The Tea Party, every black, brown Asian, white and every other group had better wake up and support the only folks in this country that stand for FREEDOM!!!!

RP, what do you think of Pastor Manning calling your son unworthy of office? I suggested that he best make a list of all those politicians who have proven their character unworthy of holding high office. If he did it would take him a long time before he actually got around to your son. You on the other hand I don’t always agree with your opinions but I hold your character at the highest regard. So please don’t let us discover that you were some 33` Mason or something. :O)

I have to strongly disagree about having a progressive on the ticket. I’d rather see the nation balkanize than to live under the tyranny of progressives which in reality are collectivists and there is no wider gap than the one between us individualists that formed this nation and the current collectivists who have driven it into the ground.

Balkanize or civil war, I won’t live under the collectivists anymore.

We’ve got 2 wars. If they help the economy, we should all be driving around in gold limousines. Another war will be unfightable without the draft. Good luck selling that to the people. Better get your mass civilian detention camps ready, FEMA, cuz the people will not stand for a draft.

There is one big problem with normalizing trade with nations like Cuba & North Korea. If you trade with them, then you enable them to continue a oligarchy which could be anywhere from viciously totalitarian to benevolent dictators.

So while I’m indeed a Dr Paul supporter, I am forced to ponder and ask about how we deal with oligarchy’s. And China is an interesting player. They truly have become an amalgamation of capitalism & Marxism. Actually, so are we…

that is the oft-repeated argument by the status quo.

Why then have relations with Vietnam improved over the past 30 years (Intel is openin a multibillion dollar chip plant there).
Why have relations improved with China over the past 20 years.

In both cases trade was opened with both countries.

The US was AT WAR with Vietnam, and at war with North Korea. Yet Vietnam is opening up through trade.
Contrast to North Korea and Iran. Yes both countries are run by extremists, and while I’m not saying lets sell arms to them, by trading with them, it will encourage their economies to become free markets.

Once people see the power of freedom in economics they start asking about political freedoms (much like is happening in the USA, people have realised they were slaves to debt and have no economic freedom, they are no questioning their political freedom).

China still restricts facebook, twitter and uncensored searches. But the tide is slowly turning, the people are waking up, and how did this occur? through ostracism from the USA or engagement?

You state ” If you trade with them, then you enable them to continue a oligarchy which could be anywhere from viciously totalitarian to benevolent dictators.”
how is this different to now? the Kim’s have been in power over 50 years in North Korea, Cuba’s been similarly ruled by Castro for over 50 years. How has the USA NOT trading with them ‘prevented’ the ‘continuation of an oligarchy’? 50 years is not a continuity?

Insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different outcome.

All senators will say the same thing before they become President. Then every thing changes when they get elected. Look at OBama, Bush.

i’m not sure that paul’s take on foreign policy is realistic. i’m certainly not for the sort of “coup d’etat” and “gunboat” diplomacy which washington had exercised since the early ’50′s. nothing wrong with foreign intervention if it’s for good, i.e. do unto others…, but not to protect and further the interests of US corporatism.
of course, he only skirts the issue of israeli involvement in US politics.
i’m still unsettled by fotos of him giving master mason handshakes.

If a country wants to be communist or whatever why do we care? As long as they aren’t a threat to our security it doesn’t matter. Not everyone wants to live the way we do. It is evil what we are doing, trying to Americanize the world. Making every country another America. Once you look at things that way you realize how much of an empire we are.
