I am a big fan of Ron and agree almost totally with his positions. That being said, I don’t think he should run for president, but instead should focus his energies on another similar candidate. While Ron Paul is almost dead on as far as his positions go, let’s face it–he is not a statesman. For a President, we need someone who can communicate well with the American people, a statesman. Ron Paul is clearly not that. So instead of running, he should find and support a candidate who is as conservative as he is, but who has a better public image.

I’d like to see him run but I don’t think he has it in him. I was a hard working PCP in Oregon, Ron Paul supporters everywhere. We campaigned for him, gave him money and our love and he dropped the ball! I still believe he could have won if he would have tried a little harder. He was the underdog and people were listening right up till he Quit. I believe he wants to be more of a guiding light than a president.

    Pete Wrote:

Ron Paul as an VP to Sarah Palin is like ‘Aristotle’ teaching Homer Simpson ….[snip]

It is ironic that Pete would choose ‘Aristotle’ in his comparison with Ron Paul to Sarah Palin. Aristotle is exactly right. And the irony is that America is founded on the principles of “Plato”, not Aristotle (Ayn Rand had it wrong as well).

Austrian-Economics, with its a priori assumptions, is aligned with the Aristotelian world-view, where Kings are Kings and serfs are serfs, and never the twain shall meet; whereas the creativity of the American Economic system has its philosophical roots in Plato and de Cusa, in the science of Kepler, Leibniz, Vernadski, and creative political will of Hamilton, JQ Adams, Lincoln, McKinley, FDR and JFK.

Ron Paul’s “Achilles heel” (continuing the “Greek” metaphor) is his misunderstanding of “Austrian Economics” vs the American System of Economy as purported by our Constitution.

Austrian – Economics is NOT Austrian! It is British, the enemy who we have been fighting actually since 1620 and Mayflower Colony and is represented today by the “Inter-Alpha” banking cartel (which by the way, is totally bankrupt and wreaking havoc on the world.

Our only refuge is a return to constitutional values…but NOT Austrian Economics which lead right in the hands of the British Empire.

Listen kid.. British Mercantilism is American Economics, which were influenced from England. If anything American Economics encourages a central bank leading to a command economy, all those heroes you mentioned earlier whether self restraint at certain aspects lead to the largest state in mankind. Hamilton believed debt was a blessing, after he was all too happy to spend your money and run you into the ground, openly admitting that, and empire building. You are just falling back to that old American Nationalism non sense, appealing to being patriotic while actually still being a slave. A man chooses, a slave obeys. The Austrians are the last refuge of classical liberalism, if you are too dense to figure out what that means. It means the teachings of Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, real economics etc.. A priori simply means non hypothetical statements base on the real world that are true, all bahiors are unmarried men. Two objects can not occupy the same space at the same time. Value is subjective, and in trade both parties must benefit to their subjective ends otherwise such a transaction would not take place.

Instead of getting into an actual debt, you appeal to fear and spread disinfo.

Do not merge Keynesian Economics with the Austrians, if anything they are more like Neo-Mercantilism of the modern times. Both of you are economic interventionists. Austrians on a grand scale oppose Statism, some leaning towards minimal, others complete free market in law.

    Response to Texas Chris

I understand the dangers of “evil”. Government by design is not evil. Actions can be evil or for the good. America was the way to put curbs on government “evil”. And the US constitution, if followed, balances the concerns of the individual and state better than any other system. We in America are out of balance because we have lost sight of the constitution. “Evil” forces (translate British) have undermined its principles. All true patriots wish to return to constitutional values.

But Austrian-Economics is NOT the American system of economy. It is a British systemic view that is directly opposed to the principles of the constitution.

Ron Paul wants us to return to constitutional values. But his adherence to Austrian Economics is the most ironic of conditions because it is just the opposite of what the American constitution provides for. No wonder we are in such a mess.

There is a difference between the American Constitutional government which allows (and was supported by Supreme Court Decision in 1818) for a National Bank (in the Hamiltonian model) and what we have today, which is a corruption of the National Bank (FED) and a disregard of constitutional principles. Our congress is compromised with Foreign Money which buys the offices of about 80% of the legislators. It even bought the presidency in 2008 for Obama who is little but a British agent bought with the money of George Soros.

America has had two (correctly structured) formal national banks which presided over the greatest economic development of America during those periods when in place and functioning correctly. Andrew Jackson, bought and paid for by Wall-Street , vetoed the 3rd National Bank. This then led to the Bank Panic of 1837 and ultimately a final “stab” by the British Empire to destroy America with the Civil War. Lincoln saved the Union and saved America leading to greatest economic expansion by Treasury Secretary “Henry Cary” who carried out much of the reconstruction policies of Western development. The Civil War was about saving the union from the “British” and secondarily about abolishing slavery. England and other European countries abolished slavery long before America. Why was it kept here? Because it served the British “colonial” purposes: Slaves to America, Cotton to England, Textiles to India, and Opium to China. The British were the first organization drug pushers in the 19th century.

JQ Adams (Canals and roads), Lincoln (Rails) and FDR (TVA) used reconstruction corporations to funnel credit to business for National projects which also served the nation. Eisenhower, being the general he was, knew the value of a good road. His vision of roads for American commerce was instrumental in development of the National Highway system. Some argue that the NAWAPA project of the 1960s would have been better, focusing on rails, irrigation and agriculture for the Western USA, Canada and Mexico. But roads are good.

These are good government projects and appropriate use of “taxes” for the purpose of providing for the welfare of the individual and nation. The increase of productive labor increases tax revenue that far exceeds the interest of the credit. It has been calculated that for every penny spent on the Moon Missions in the 1960s, we gained 10 cents in economic value. It is that America has lost this National purpose of economic development and essentially is economically purposeless at this time in history. The story of our decline from the death of FDR, the assassination of JFK, the protracted Asian War (Viet Nam) and fraudulent “global warming science” has served to destroy much of what America has been.

Do you know how the Austrian-Economic philosophy began?
Do you know why it was revived in the 1870s when Bismarck came to power?
Do you know that Rothbard, Friedman, Popper, Mises, von Hayek and others have clear ties to the British Empire?

If you want the correct history….learn how the US constitution was directly opposed to the British liberalism of Adam Smith, Malthus, and more recently Keynes and Russell. Learn about global warming and the real science that proves the fraud of “East Anglia” and “hockey sticks”.

Austrians are a school of thought, they are not bound to biases of a nation. Its pure economics, what works, how society functions, and what doesn’t work. Friedman was part of the Chicago school, unless you are talking about his son..

The study of human action is the real science of economics.

I wish I could have Ron Paul here right so I could read some of the stuff people have written on his behalf. Dear Ron Paul fans:

If you think that Austrian-Economics is “American”…you don’t know history.
And, you don’t know that Van Hayek had the full support of the British empire.

Austrian-ECO with its claim that government is the evil…a partial truth.
Unrelated FREE-TRADE is exactly what the “Empire” wants for globalization.

The United States from Washington through FDR was extremely productive when
adopting the principles of that Government’s role (via the constitution) is to protect Liberty and Freedom for the benefit of the individual.

Government cannot do that if you gut the institution.
The problem is not government itself, but it is goverment corrupted from a foreign enemy OR nowdays an internal one…as Beck points out the “national socialists (NA-ZI).

If you think you have to balance a budget, you don’t understand economy…If you inflate money to reduce debt, that is a criminal action. But if you generate credit for the creation of infrastucture, for the purpose of aiding agriculture and manufactures…then you have the REAL AMERICA…and the path that about 1/2 dozen presidents actually followed for the benefit of the country.

Learn the history folks…Ron Paul is about 1/2 right, but it playing right into the hand of the enemy with his naive adherence to Austrian (translate British) Economics.

This post is full of half truth and misinformation.

“Government cannot do that if you gut the institution.”

Incorrect. If government did only what the constitution allowed, then we wouldn’t be in this mess, we wouldn’t have huge debt, or the FED, or foreign wars, or the 16th and 17th amendment, and on and on and on.

“If you think you have to balance a budget, you don’t understand economy…”

Wrong again. With every economy of every scale the actors must maintain a balanced budget over time, otherwise interest destroys income. Individuals cannot spend more than they earn for long. Families also must balance the budget. Businesses keep meticulous books. Cities, counties and states cut spending when revenues drop. Why should the federal government be any different?

Answer: They aren’t. Eventually the interest owed on federal debt will surpass the government’s ability to tax, and then there are only three options. Cut spending; print money to pay the debt; or default.

We’re printing money now, and there is no real sign that spending will be cut. I’m betting default, and the death of the US dollar.

And that, sir, is the evil of government. It operates at the expense of more productive enterprise, and grows until it chokes off all wealth building operations.

Like most of the founders of this country, I do not trust most politicians to do the right thing. Even the good and decent men and women that enter politics to make things better, eventually become corrupted by the system.

The saddest injustice is the weak, feeble, unskilled and uneducated turn to the government for protection from the abusive and for help to find a way out of their plight. The reality is that government, whatever its form, protects the powerful. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Eventually, society’s powerful interests will corrupt and takeover government to further their own interests and that is what has happened in America.

Our founders were incredibly wise men and they understood this. The only reason the constitution was ratified was because they felt the Bill of Rights clearly limited the federal government’s powers to the bear minimum needed for us to function on an international level. That is it. On the other hand, it was natural for us to bond together as one people so that eventually states rights would be viewed as national rights.

Their clear failure (in my opinion) was with the judicial branch, which they expected to uphold the constitution. They were wrong. They failed to recognize the impact that the political appointment of these positions would have over time. They also assumed that those entering the legal profession were interested in justice and upholding the law, insteading of exercise their power and personal beliefs. Anyone with half an ounce of sense would know that the Federal Reserve and Obamacare, as well as other social welfare programs, are unconstitutional. The same goes for our undeclared wars or establishing military bases all over the world in the name of self defense when, in fact, they are intended to drag Americans into war.

The Federal Reserve and Washington Bureaucracy are nothing more than quid pro quo between the Wall Street and Eastern Banking Elite and Washington Politicians. There is no independence. They pumped up the Bush Bubble and, now, they are pumping up the Obama Bubble (and they failed to act, at best, on the Clinton Bubble). There is no such thing as a consumption based economy. All economies are based on production.

You may well be America’s Last Best Hope. We need another Ronald Reagan even more than 1980. Times have changed and Reagan was not perfect, but his message in 1980 holds even more true today. Government is not the answer. Government has been the problem. Government did not help and protect the average citizen. Government was used to abuse them. Obama is no change from Bush and Bush was no change from Clinton.

However, if you focus your campaign on the Fed, the Military, Government Spending, Illegal Immigration and/or the Constitution, you will lose the American people. Americans want jobs – first, second, third and fourth. Borrowing and spending won’t work, unless we think the rest of the world is a bunch of fools. In the end, it is about bringing the jobs home. We have enough consumption. We lack production. It is about correcting the reasons why the jobs were sent abroad. Importing lots of raw materials like China and Japan is okay, as long as you export enough finished goods to offset your imports. But the importation of more finished goods than you export, or relying on foreign sources for food and energy, is the kiss of death.

The mega-rich wanted (and received by lobbying) a way to increase profits, they are too greedy. Import EVERYTHING (keep costs down), + outsource EVERYTHING = pay no wages = $$$. The mega-rich pay no taxes, so when there’s a bailout, we middle class pay our own way out, while they run off with all the $$$. There should be a stiff penalty for lobbying (because it’s illegal). The ONLY way to make a law or tax break or whatever SHOULD be the citizens’ desires. We (citizens) don’t matter AT ALL anymore, not even in the abstract. The mega-rich have NEVER liked the idea of paying people for work (slavery, indentured servants, illegals, etc). The whole system (and EVERY SYSTEM in the USA) is set up to favor the mega-rich, and they’re the only one’s that have the time and resources to lobby for new laws, TO FAVOR THEMSELVES EVEN MORE!!!! It’s time take back this country and give it to the people!
Think about this…historically every time there is a war, there are fortunes made. Yes the $$$ goes to the mega-rich, the service goes to all but the mega-rich. Who pays for these wars? You got it. The citizens (tax payers). Money flows to the mega-rich. Look at any system that’s falling apart (healthcare, housing, social security, national debt, etc) and you will find one of these two things…Either the mega-rich soaked all of the $$$ out of it, OR the mega-rich don’t put any in to fix it. Simple. Today we have more millionaires and billionaires than ever before, and it keeps growing!!! There is a limit. With a finite $$$ supply the system would have crashed LONG ago. Since the federal reserve keeps pumping it in, and it flows to the mega-rich, it keeps spiraling out of control. Take a look at a banking system…They charge you 10% for a mortgage, 30% for a credit card, but only give you 1/2% back for a savings account!!! Who benefits there?! You got it! Think of every system, and the result is the same. Mr. Paul please help get our country back! If not back to 1770′s, then at least back to 1950′s!

By the way, we are paying for the very cameras and xrays and scanners and other tools that are assisting the government in taking away our freedoms. Who is authorizing these purchases? Taxes are for roads and bridges, not freedom-removing cameras! This place sucks!

Sarah Palin is the Republicans’ Obama. She is a packaged product. Just as 2004 was the unveiling of the Obama package, Palin’s unveiling was in 2008. Obama tapped into mainstream America’s dissatisfaction with the growing rift between parties as a result of the 2000 election results and Palin is tapping into their dissatisfaction with the government’s bail out of the rich and their lack of fiscal responsibility.

Both of them are about as qualified to be President as I am. God help us if we elect another “pop culture” icon as President.

I never fell for Obama’s Hope speeches and I’m sure not falling for Sarah’s. Just do a google search on what some Alaskans have to say for her!

I doubt she’d stick to being president anyways though. I judge her just as she did Alaska. She didnt serve her term, but quit to write books and be paid mega-bucks to give speeches. Quick: Corporations have tons of cash, do the numbers, give them extroadinary
tax breaks IF-IF-IF, they START–not buy, a new enterprise, to supply their
business with essential services or commodities and hire no less than 100 people.
X’s 100 employees by 1,2,3000, 5,000 corporation and see unemployment go
down, productivity increase, and that new enterprise become profitable.
This is doable man, tell Ron to get on with. Create, extrapolate, give the corporations
a deal they can’t refuse and see the magic of numbers work.!

This isn’t the politician candy store! You are all being very selfish! If he wants to run then of course thats fine, but Dr. Paul isn’t looking too well, and when I listen to him he doesn’t sound too well either. He seems very tired. I hope people are really watching his back–and watching what he’s eating! I wouldn’t put anything past those slimy parasitic bloodsuckers he’s trying to expose!

I would love for Ron Paul to win the presidency! Many, many people are waking up and are totally fed up with the Satanic criminals who are running, plundering and destroying America. I feel that we really have to TRY! I think we have to UNITE the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party into the “Tea Party” and get all of the patriot websites and organizations to back Ron Paul. We also have to be very alert to all the tricks, schemes, scams and divide and conquer tactics of the servants of Satan’s opposition to Godly, honest and constitutional government.

Satanic Criminals? I like Ron Paul, and he would make a great President. But, your post is very pharisaical. You are heaping new rules upon men, saying that this or that party is God’s will. Lest we forget that Jesus himself had government workers, revolutionaries that wanted to throw over the government, bourgeois, and proletariat in his “party” of 12. Christians come in all shapes and sizes. Anything that is not in the Bible, and makes new rules that must or must not be followed is sinful.

Sadly we now have the Sorriest President ever in this Country and the majority of the DemocRATS are just as bad. The Republicans are not much better with most of them bought and paid for by Big Business and Unions.

The midterm election is a step in the right direction but we need to get rid of Obama, the man who was born in Kenya and is paying many lawyers thousands of dollars to hide his real birth certificate and provide a fake one from Hawaii. He really is an illegal President and deserves to be impeached. Why is he still here?

Ron Paul would make a great President and I would Vote for him in a heartbeat. He needs to have a strong person such as Michelle Bachmann for his Vice President. In view of the situation with the DemocRATS and Republicans it might behove Ron Paul to switch to a different Party, such as Libertarian. It’s
high time the American People wake up and do what’s right, get rid of the riff-raff and Vote for Ron Paul as President.

Hey, I have an idea! Since you believe every word that come out of Ron Pauls mouth, why don’t you ask him where President Obama was born? I heard him answer the question & he said that of course he was born in the U.S. I believe Ron Paul is an intelligent man who wants thinking people voting for him no matter what he runs for. Please stop promoting ignorant stories & respect Ron Paul.

In the last election I looked for Ron’s name on my ballot in Springfield Ma. and he wasn’t listed. Its electronic so even though I didn’t realize I could write his name in at the time I don’t think the computer would’ve read it if I had. I certainly would vote for him though. Would’ve then and would again. Best wishes either way,

I would vote for him if he ran as an independent or Libertarian, but not as a “Demublican.”
The Democrat and Republican sham parties are assets of a foreign power that is doing the US immeasurable harm.

I agree with the comment above that suggested he come out early with a heavy hitting running mate. It would blow the RINO away. We can do it this time. Yes we can.

He should run in 2012 and when he wins he needs to have private security to protect him from the CIA.
