Ron Paul on C-SPAN’s Newsmakers

When the 112th Congress convenes next month, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) will become the chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and will have Congressional oversight of the Federal Reserve.

On C‑SPAN’s Newsmakers, he shares his concerns regarding the agency’s monetary policies. In the past, the representative has been very vocal in his criticism of the way the Fed is handled and has gone so far as to propose that it be eliminated in his latest book, “End the Fed.”

Rep. Paul also explain his agenda concerning financial issues and how they harmonize with the incoming Republican-majority’s overall agenda, as well as efforts to stimulate the sagging U.S. economy.

  1. I live in oregon and there are many stories of the city folk levying the city and looking for work in the woods during the Great Depression. Most of them could not hand the hard work. there are many more people that live in the cities and there will be huge influxes of people in the out lining areas. I think small communities will have to hold there ground or they will be over run. One person with a gun will not last.

  4. How can there have been more severe recessions, than the Great Depression?

The Great Depression happened 16 years after the creation of the Federal Reserve.

Coincidentally, so did 2 World Wars.

Nothing like that had ever been seen in America before.

  9. We need to make decisions, and soon.

What type of economic system is needed and why and how it is to be run.

What type of trading system is needed, because no one can compete with slave labor and illegal privileges run in the shadow. It will just bring down any healthy economy and all invested in it and all costs needed to take it down to restart a new one.

Keep in mind that not every one wants to be a millionaire star to then give a way everything, just because is better investment than to keep your money with no value. It makes no good sense, it looks fake, is not really good bussiness.

And we need to decide if state nations are kept or a new regional system is set with some new form of government. If votes are needed for decisions on this, no voting machines allowed. Just remmeber that because something is new it does not mean is the best. So it goes for the propaganda of 'young and promising', because that problem is related to the current situation, and is a problem being dumped on the young. Really.

    • And this is a specially important comment, seriously, something that Ron Paul's followers, or not, better think about. Because it just means the current game will continue.

  11. Well, here are some observations from the 'commoners' seat:

1-We need real solutions for real people that want to live a real life in a real world and support real families with real values.

2-Technology is good, but too much of it will shift the equilibrium away from a healthy life.

3-All of you, except Dr Ron Paul, look at your larger bellies, it means too much time seating in front of a computer, and look at your hair, it's prematurely gray from trying to keep a personal budget balanced, and from trying to survive against what ironically technology combined with monopoly has generated, and also is easily taking away from you.

3-The combination of monopoly and technology facilitate extremism and speed up social problems and we are living with that now.

4-Maybe the economy 'watchdogs' need to keep both eyes in the equilibrium between technology and 'job numbers' and the qualities of both issues, not just quantities. But that is a human trait and need, so go figure where really the source of problems are.

Well, I probably do not make a difference with any of these comments, so, merry christmas anyway.

  12. Only one man on the national political scene has credibility on this issue. Ron Paul was like John the Baptist, a lone voice crying in the wilderness. Well, only a few of us were listening, and the country finds iteself in the wilderness. Will they wake up and listen? They're starting to. Hopefully it's not too late.

  13. I think it's so refreshing listening to someone who's not reading a teleprompter or listening for a response from an earplug! No stammering or hesitating!
I'm buying Silver Eagles, I'd urge others to do the same. It is US currency in case the Government issues everyone to turn their silver in at any given time, you will not have to turn over your Silver Eagles. Try to get at least two and just stick them in a drawer or something. Just in case.

  20. I know alot of ppl jumping on the Dr. Ron Paul bandwagon and thats great but I think everyone should actually check his Voting record.Although I disagree with some of his policies he never flip flops and has always shown to vote congruently to what he believes is right for the ppl. Thats a rarity with all these corporate puppets that we have in office. If he runs for president he will have my vote!
