Dylan Ratigan: Congressman Ron Paul joining the conversation. Congressman, is there anything that anybody outside of the borders of that country can or should do?
Ron Paul: Well, we should have done a lot less, a lot sooner because we’re in the middle of this. I mean he’s been our puppet dictator. We’ve given him 70 billion dollars, a bunch of it is in a private bank already, but we built his army. We sell him the weapons. We give them the weapons because we gave him the money. So, we’re in the middle of it and of course now, our government doesn’t know who to support and who not to support. So, they’re trying to line up with the next dictator. It just points out so tragically why intervention in the internal affairs of other nations eventually backfires on us. We’re just now angling to have control afterwards. I would say we’d be better off letting the Egyptians settle this problem.
Dylan Ratigan: Are you making a call, Congressman, for an overhaul of American foreign policy based on what you just said?
Ron Paul: Absolutely! I’ve been doing it in a good many years. I believe in the Constitutional foreign policy of the founders that advocated non-intervention which means that we start bringing our troops home as soon as possible and we bring our money home too. It’s going to happen if we’re going to have a bankruptcy. The Soviet system collapsed, not for military reasons but for financial reasons. So, this is an indication that we wasted our 70 billion dollars. Even the so-called stability that it bought for awhile, it leads to these kind of very, very dangerous situations. I do believe that tomorrow is going to be – if not sooner – a very wild and violent day in Egypt.
Dylan Ratigan: Fawaz, your thoughts on the American Congressman’s observations?
Fawaz Georges: Well, the reality is that at the end of the day, I hope that we learn the lessons from the Tunisian and the Egyptian case. I’m saying, we Americans – the American foreign policy community – at the end of the day, the Middle East has been a dismal failure, a disaster, for American foreign policy, but also at the end of the day, Egyptians are determining their future as you’ll see. The United States has very limited options at this particular moment. I would like President Barrack Obama to make it very clear that the United States, basically, takes sides on the side of the rising social forces – the human rights, the rule of law – those people who are really trying to own their history and basically determine their own affairs. But, I think, in the next few days, the United States must think very clearly about what its response will be if and when the army intervenes to suppress the protesters, what tomorrow might be a bloodbath if the protesters try to march to the Presidential Palace. The next few days are going to be extremely dangerous and I hope the United States has a clear position, a clear stand, when and if the ‘plunge’ takes place in Egypt.
Dylan Ratigan: Ron Paul, Ronald Reagan famous both in 1982 with Poland and in 1989 with the Berlin Wall for doing precisely what Fawaz just described – getting behind the pro-democracy forces, demanding the tearing down of the wall. Do you believe the United States should get behind that crowd?
Ron Paul: I don’t think it’s the same analogy. This is a lot of money and a lot of weapons, and we’re just trying to buy influence. It’s the same old policy of staying there and trying to pick sides. There’s nobody capable of knowing, who’s the one person that we can stand behind. Unless he gets our money… that military is very powerful now, but the military depends on us. So, we’re in the middle of this! To just say that we have to get behind another group, it sounds good, but can diplomatically once it’s settled down, for us to go in there and settle this fight, I think, is wrong and very, very dangerous and it will make things that much worse.

We must make sure RON PAUL is our next president. I usually don’t get involved in such things but PAUL is our last chance for hope- The constitution will be suspended if anyone other than Paul becomes president in 2012- A new system will be brought in. Most likely the zeitgeist system- We can’t allow that to happen- That will bring about a NWO.There will be no money or personal ownership.Zeitgeist is Luciferian.A deception by the Illuminati- watch?v=LuocQZiXiJs

Dear Sir,
I am an Egyptian. Although Egyptians are very poor and definietely need the AIDS, but I absolutely agree with you. We don’t need that money because the price was very high- our freedom and self respect. Enough propping of dictators and interfearing in our affairs. It has always been a vicious cycle. The American flag has been burnt all over the Middle East because of the people’s hatred of American policy that advocates and props their dictators to kill them and oppress them. Then they bring these incidents on TV and convince Americans, that Arabs/Middle Easterns/Muslims hate them and they have to fight them back. USA has been giving money to Israel to kill more Palestinians and build more settlements and giving more money to its bull dogs like Mubarak in the Middle East to kiss ass. I cannot beleive that America could at last have a President that resembles the real American public who are absolute humanitarians and have nothing to do with their terrorist government.
Whereas Americans are made to beleive that Muslims are terrorists, we are made to beleive that Americans are terrorists and building an empire at our expense?! The truth has at last unfolded to both of us. It is all about some bastards here and some bastards there who rule the world while we are watching either naiively or helplessly. We have succeeded in getting rid of both our helplessness and naiivity. We have given some Logic pills to the naiive to cure them out of it.
America should not have double standards wanting Freedom and Democracy only for itself and not for the rest of the world.
My dear Sir, you are too good to be true and too honest for the bastards to allow you to lead. But who knows, may be this is the year of The Honest. If we, in Egypt, were able to see the truth and fight the idiots, the ignorant and most importantly the tyrants in our country then you can.
You were very right in beleiving that Egyptians will not accept American money if it meant owning their army. You were also right that you don’t have to pay for freindship. In fact, we will be more freinds with America if it stops sending Israel and us money than when it did. I hope time allows us to prove it.
Very good luck

Ron Paul is something different in currant politics, a man of conviction. While
the GOP leadership ‘lock steps’ toward the powerful business interests, pretends
to ‘romance’ the tea party goofies, Paul speaks his mind.

This time around even the Main Stream protectorates of Wall Street and corporates at the expense of the American Taxpayer will not prevent Ron Paul from becoming the Republican nominee.

WRong Paul is wrong yet again. Mubarek stepped down today, and the people protesting in Egypt aren’t being slaughtered by the military.
WRong Paul says US investment in foreign aid to Egypt was ‘wasted money,’ yet the fact is, the stability and economic development of Egypt was made possible by US foreign aid dollars.
The army that we paid for will ensure a peaceful transition to a democratic Egypt. I’m sure WRong Paul is very disappointed that his worldview isn’t vindicated by today’s events.

What economic development? The people in Egypt are starving. 44% of the population is considered poor to extremely poor. It’s those people who are revolting and who do you think they will hold partially responsible for their problems? That’s right, the interventionist country who financially supported Egypts oppressive military and government.

I don’t always agree with Ron Paul and I don’t really like Libertarianism, but I don’t think it’d be the worst thing if he won the presidency. If nothing else, he seems like he actually gives a damn about actual human beings, and that puts him head and shoulders over most Republicans and a lot of Democrats. You get the sense that he believes what he believes, not for ideology’s sake, but because he believes it will help REAL people.

Well we should show support through our words, and we should support their quest for democracy, but we shouldn’t be giving them our fucking GOD DAMMED MONEY.
We. ARE. BROOOOOOOKE.
What the fuck is wrong with our leaders? Just giving money away to morons like Mubarak or the assholes in Haiti, all so they can pocket it.

Here here. I am sick of seeing this on our evening news when we have issues happening on our own soil.
“non-intervention which means that we start bringing our troops home as soon as possible and we bring our money home too. ”

Maybe the world wouldn’t hate us so much if the government would butt out. Let the world solve its own problems as they’re going to have worry about whats going to happen here. Bring the troops home and stopping sending money and with that money maybe we can fund our schools and build new roads and etc instead of giving it to a dictator.

The American people are being offered a choice; choose Ron Paul or your typical GOP or Democrat libtards.
Since the dinner has already been served to Americans, what happens next to America will be of their own doing. If Ron Paul doesnt win, we’ll know whos fault that is.
Not many countries have even such a choice to choose from. Almost none have a Constitution like America.

I am a former Police Officer who fled the USSA. When I worked at the Mall of America (Bloomington, MN) we received an intelligence bulletin from DHS (Department of Homeland Security). It said that anyone with a Ron Paul bumper sticker, Don’t Tread on Me Flag, Anti-Federal Reserve/Tax protesters, carriers or people who mention the US Constitution, Libertarians, Anti-Government Bumper Stickers, + even returning veterans are all possible domestic terrorists + should be scrutinized. Time to flee.
