First of all, libertarians like Ron Paul know that low or no tariffs are good for an economy…even if those low or no tariffs are not reciprocated by the trading nation. So, tariffs designed to protect industries or jobs in this country are certainly wrong.
HOwever, prior to the income tax this country used tariffs as the primary source of revenue for the limited functions of the Federal government. If spending can drastically be cut and if e the income tax can be abolished, there would be nothing wrong to use limited tariffs to pay for small government.

Friday is open line on Rush Limbaugh’s show. There will be a guest host tomorrow. You can call the show at 1 800 282 2882 and calmly and rationally and intelligently make the case for ron paul. Keep it simple…Lower taxes, lower regulations, and lower spending, no candidate will have such a record as Dr. Ron Paul.

How many here think the problem with CAFTA or any of the other trade agreements the US is involved in are too good of a deal for the US? If you don’t share Ron Paul’s views on these “free trade” agreements, then you should reconsider voting for him. There are republican candidates who have said they’d raise tariffs on China and get us out of CAFTA, NAFTA, and the WTO without totally selling out our country. You should figure out who that is and vote for them instead of Ron or Rand Paul.
