After the “liberal republicans” wrecked the economy, it is unbeliveable that the other Rep. candidtes on that stage still don’t get it. Dr. Paul is clearly the only one that has a clue. I am a Dem. who never voted for a Rep. for President. I would love to vote for Dr. Paul, but the republicans will never get there heads out of their asses and nominate a TRUE CONSERVATIVE like Dr. Paul. I will thus be forced to vote for Obama instead of any of those other clowns. Forget conservative, just consider common sense.

I am sorry but God will not help you. If it is a God out there he couldn’t care less about this earthly thing. Ron Paul needs to understand that he has to point out his opponents that they are liars and hypocrites now when they try to steal his votes, by saying that they agree with him a lot on his position on the wars and the bailouts. They do that because they know that’s the only way to disarm Ron Paul. Bush and Obama did the same thing to, they fooled the people to believe that they were the peace candidate.

It is a dog eat dog world out there and Ron Paul better understand it. He can attack them in a fair way, because the truth is that his opponents are liars and hypocrites. And if it is a God he will like the truth.

Sorry I spelt a lot words wrong, here we go again.

Ron Paul is under attack in a very sofisticated way. The other candidates will destroy Ron Paul by lying and say that they agree with him, just to take his votes from him.

Ron Paul must defend himself and attack the other candidates for being hypocrites and liars when they suddenly are against war and the bailouts. All other candidates are liars just like Obama and Bush who also claimed that they were for peace. Ron Paul must also point out that he is the only real tea party candidate, because he was against the bailout under President Bush and started the tea party movement.

I know it’s not Ron Paul’s nature to attack others, but he must, because the other candidates attacks him now by pretending that they are against the wars and the bailouts, because they know it is their best defense against Ron Paul.

If Ron Paul does not realize he is attacked and believes that they have start to agree with him, well then Ron Paul is stupid and he will not win and betray all his constituents, even if it wasn’t consciously.

But we can not afford stupidity now from Ron Paul. Ron Paul can be tough, weall know that, it is time to stop to be mr nice guy, because US is in grave danger if he doesn’t win.

It is time for Ron Paul to stop being nice and pointing out his rivals as liars and hypocrites. It is the only way he can get attention and win, because it is the truth and truth will win.

Stop let them bullying you mr Ron Paul, stand up and beat this liars and hypocrites with the truth, you can do it!

Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate who understands/supports/and derives his value system from the United States Constitution. Because the Constitution is his “frame of reference” or foundation for his opinions, proposals and ideas, he appears to be more rational, reasonable, logical and consistent than the other candidates. Go Ron!!

    Point of clarification:

Liberals most certainly can have faith and believe in God.

Albert Einstein is a shining example!

Liberals believe in SMALLER government, because power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Progressives are NEO-LIBERALS who believe in big government, high taxes, and reduced freedom for that false sense of security that the homeland security gestapo provide.

Please stop doing the Corporate Media’s bidding by convoluting liberal and progressive.

P.S.- Ron Paul is a liberal.

    Liberals gave us the Constitution.

Liberals created the first government based upon the consent of the governed, throwing out the existing government based upon religion (English Monarchy).

Adam Smith is the Father of Liberalism, the Father of the Scottish Enlightenment, and the Father of Capitalism.

Please stop undermining our future by falling for silly semantic games such as demonizing certain words… particularly liberal for this word is derived from the word… LIBERTY!!!

    Thank you and God Bless.

P.S.- Jesus is my favorite liberal, Ron Paul is my second.

There seems to be little debating about Ron Paul’s position on health care. The way I understand it is Ron Paul doesn’t think the federal government should be in the health care business.
It’s obvious that the “$940 billion “health care reform bill” which was slammed through with “reconciliation” is about forcing people to buy health insurance form private companies. Since the financial services companies were deregulated in 1999 the same companies can now be commercial banks, investment banks, and insurance companies all at the same time. That’s a lot of clout, and that clout is being used to make a lot of money. IMO that’s got a hell of a lot more to do with the “health care reform bill” than providing medical services for anyone, legal or otherwise.

Please don’t allow the “Media” to make a chump out of you!

Their mission is not to inform the public, rather it is to manufacture concent among the governed.

Four years ago, before a single vote was ever cast in a primary or caucus, the Media kept insisting that the only viable candidates for President among the Democrats (party out of power at the time) were Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

THAT WAS A BOLD FACED LIE… to weaken and/or discredit all other candidates who aren’t as committed to the ruling Elite and the status-quo!

Voters decide who is viable on election day, not phoney polls with loaded questions and dubious methodologies for extrapolating a national result through only 500 or so individuals out of over 300 million.

But I do believe Americans are starting to wake up to the truth (including me) and they are starting to see the lies that the left wing and neocons have been spoon feeding them for years, we need to get back to the basics, and Dr. Paul is the right man for the job. don’t let the biased media intimidate you, Dr. Paul is the real deal and he is coming chanting the message of liberty and freedom, the question is are you willing to rise up behind him and demand the same? There’s one thing where I respectfully disagree with Dr. Paul: foreign aid.

I think it should be obvious why we give several billion dollars to Pakistan every year: it’s a bribe to their political/military “elite” to ensure that they at least pretend to be civilized.
Without that bribe, can we expect anything other than “crazy” from a muslim country with nuclear weapons?..

I can’t help but wonder: what the heck are we going to do to appease –Iran– once they’ve got their own nukes?
They have oil, so they don’t really need our money. Not as a bribe, anyway.
They have the craziest regime on the planet and openly declare that we’re their enemy.
What can stop them from trying to nuke us? Especially, if we significantly reduce our military presence in the Middle East?

    ——————

Another topic where I believe Ron Paul is not quite right is the currency issue.

In theory, his proposals are absolutely correct.

But imagine a family where the relationship between a husband and a wife is based on lies: say, for example, they are both cheating and have “secret lovers”. Both know that they are cheating bastards, but they hide it, and they pretend that they have a good happy family.
I think – regardless of the moral side of the story – that their family is better off keeping the status quo, – for the sake of their kids.
If kids find out… heck, even if they –have– found out, – it’s still better than a broken family: with kids living with only one of the divorced parents.
A bad family is better than no family at all.

Same with the currency and printing money out of thin air:
Everyone (that is, –everyone with at least half a brain—) knows that the Fed Reserve is a fraud. And, of course, the foreign governments know that.
But as long as everyone agrees that it’s OK… it’s still better than declaring bankruptcy.
Otherwise, the economy collapse is imminent, and we need to figure out how to survive TEOTWAWKI (“the end of the world as we know it”).

    —————–

Please don’t get me wrong: I strongly believe that Dr. Paul is – by far – the best presidential candidate.

    My only question is:
since Ron Paul is not getting any younger… will America be smart enough this time and elect the first really good president after Ronald Reagan, or is the majority of us still too dumb to know what’s good for them and their future?

I am a big supporter of Ron Paul. That is why it frustrates me to see him not polish off his debating skills, so he can convey his views effectively to the masses. Not everyone is informed on issues, and not all formats are ideal for long winded educational style answers.

Suggestion to Ron Paul: Take a moment, think about the question, then in the time allotted, provide the best possible answer that is easy to understand.

Ron Paul’s chances are very good in this election. He does not have to change his views, but he does need to get better at conveying them.

This is a typical liberal statement. It bears all the hallmarks. It makes a wildly emotional statement, that “someone” “somewhere” should be responsible for sick children (not the liberal of course) while playing the role of a victim. The statement lacks meaningful detail and, like most liberals, is fundamentally retarded. It is also lacking any basis in reality and instead looks for reason in sensationalism. Liberals find their foundation for logic in emotion. I’ll stick with rationality. If you feel there is a need to help illegal children, start a club. It’s not the governments job. It’s not my job. Put the responsibility on yourself and not on others.

It’s also full of typical liberal rhetoric like “Greedy, racist and inhuman.” which mean nothing but cause people who support Ron Paul to try and disprove a negative. This puts Ron Paul supporters on the defensive and off track thinking about the empty labels that again, mean nothing. It also puts the liberal into a conjured position of victimization and put’s Congressman Paul into a position of “barbarism” or needless aggression which again, is conjured. What any of this has to do with helping children I have no idea but apparently to a liberal, it makes sense.

Greedy? Racist? Inhuman? You don’t even know who this man is. Give me an example that he’s a racist. Give me an example of his inhumanity. I’m assuming that because he’s not into government healthcare that he’s greedy. Let me ask you this: what social program has been succesful? Social security was a scam from the beginning. I’ve known long ago that I will never see my social security check. Welfare, the great war on poverty, has helped in what way? Govt spending only hurts the economy. Check out Greece. Maybe we should print out more money like Zimbabwe. You come up with a solution to pay for something we can’t afford.

Very simple, we need to raise taxes on the wealthy that got a free ride under the republicans. We all need to pay more for this highly technical and INTERDEPENDANT society we all live in.
And there are many social programs that work. My parents lived through the great depression. They and many others of my family would have DIED without the social programs put together by FDR (You know, that guy you hate.)

You folks seem to like to think you are free from any duty or even kindness to your fellow humans. I’ve seen “let them die” a lot from Mr. Paul’s supporters, and I don’t see him refuting that.

        He said, very quietly, no.
Ergo, that 5 year old should go away and die from lack of healthcare. Logic kinda sucks, doesn’t it?

Are you talking about the succesful New Deal program? Yeah that was a great success. Took six years to “help” American society.
It seems, though, that America wasn’t under a pile of rubble like much of Europe. Perhaps, America had supplied food, tanks, and whatever else Europe was in short supply of at the time. Tax the rich, they go somewhere else (Does California or New York ring a bell?) Aren’t you the party that’s supposed to hate discrimination? So you are grouping the few “let them die” (if there are any) and assuming the rest of us haven’t an ounce of human compassion? Most of us here believe in standing on our own helping when we can. Once again, what social programs have worked? You can’t answer that can you?

To deny that there was never a social program that worked is the same as denying that there was never a tax break that worked. It’s a lie. Some have some haven’t. Social Security and Medicare did work well for a very long time, and will continue to work quite well if the republicans don’t kill it. These programs were put in place to SAVE LIVES, and they have.
The money problem is huge I agree but not insurmountable. If we stop supporting the military industrial complex with ½ the federal budget and we return to the tax rates that built this country we will be fine. The problem with thinking that private donations and charities can shoulder the load of the enormous burden of healthcare for those that can’t purchase it is that it is naive in the extreme. We had the system you folks seem to want in the 1870 to 1920 era. What we wound up with was a nation with a very few super rich people, a very small rich class, and a huge mass of poor people. The data shows that we’re heading there again. That’s what my parents experienced; people were dying of starvation and disease because NO ONE would help. The Catholic hospitals (the only free care you could get) were overrun. But those were just poor people like my great aunt, and she was old and should have died to get out of the way of progress anyway.

History and facts are very problematic for ideology. If you are willing to accept that what you believe can be modified by real data, then there‘s hope. I don’t see much willingness to do that on the republican and especially the libertarian republican side of things. History shows that tax breaks for very wealthy people result in those people taking that money elsewhere. Tax breaks for working people stimulate the economy, but starving the government (as has been promoted by the rich republican elite) staves real people. We need the tax rates of at least Regan to save the country. We have to fix our infrastructure and that costs BIG money (and creates lots of working class union wage jobs, oh but you folks hate unions too). Everyone that benefits from this society needs to contribute to its health, and currently the rich aren’t. We are honor bound to care for our fellow humans, every moral code says this, why should care be rationed on the basis of how much money you have? Why should a person have to sell their entire life’s work back into the hands of the powerful rich elite to save their lives?
We, as humans, formed societies to care for one and other. Do you actually believe that you are independent of your fellow humans for your own survival?

Lib P we are one of the most taxation regulation oppressive countries on earth. For god sakes we have tax people on their profits through capital gains, tax people for leaving our country, tax people when they try to bring their money back into their country, and tax people for giving away their inheritance! Yet idiots like you still go around screaming at the top their lungs, “THE PROBLEM IS WE DON’T TAX THEM ENOUGH!”

First of all, money in it’s present form isn’t real, it is meaningless, and taxes simply aren’t necessary in the traditional sense. If the government wanted to it could run the country straight through deficit spending and we’d only have to pay inflation. Keep in mind I’m not actually advocating this because it would destroy our currency, I’m only stating it because it is true. Secondly taxation is legalized theft of property. No one gives you the right take from your neighbor what you couldn’t get yourself. Secondly the needs and wants of individual citizens will always outweigh the supply. The same applies to everything from economics to taking care of the less fortunate. We do everything that we can through charity and donation, and we’d be able to donate a heck of a lot more if it weren’t for our oppressive tax system, but when that money isn’t enough oh well.

People go through hard times but sometimes hard times can be useful to people. Crises make people rethink their decisions, innovate, come up with new ideas and new ways to survive. Some times for those reasons, it is better to let people learn the hard way than to just bail them out so that way they can learn the error of their mistakes. I agree with you that history and facts are indeed problematic for certain ideologies namely progressivism, statism, collectivism, and entitlementism. Mankind will always run into the rules of supply and demand as you had stated and generally demand tends to outstrip supply. That doesn’t however give you the right for your neighbor to pay for your well being if they don’t want to.

What you are suggesting P Lib all comes from the Marxist ideology of central planning, a proven failure. People make their best decisions when they have the freedom to do so. Your system doesn’t allow for natural correction were has classical liberalism IE Libertarism, does with free market economics. There always be individuals in business big and small that abuse the system just as there are in government. But at least with business if one company screws you, you at least have the choice of being screwed by another company j/k. When left to government you are only given one choice only, government and more of it run by the same people.

It’s an imperfect world and building a society around the illusion of perfection which is impossible as no one can agree on what perfection is leads to failure every time it is tried. Classical liberalism and libertarinism address this and seeks to build society around the concept of functional dystopia which allows for natural corrections to occur according to the human element. Centralism doesn’t do this, it forces people to do the same thing through coercion which never works.

Government programs don’t save lives, the Hippocratic oath does.

            Bullshit!
A very common libertarian statement. Taxation is paying the bills. Your bill for your load on society. If you think you are independent your wrong. If you believe caring for your fellows is theft then you are overlooking the reason we do it. from a selfish point of view (which is ALL I see from libritarins) you should care for your fellows to keep them from reaching a point of desperation where they kill you for your stuff (you know food medicine) “But I’ll shoot them with ma gun” you say. Good luck with that.

Marxism failed for the same reason your ideology will fail. People in large groups are greedy, lazy, and stupid. Communism is a red herring and I’m not going to defend myself from that charge. You’re wrong.
            Oh well!!!!
Are you really that selfish and heartless? Do you like seeing dead children? Because that though process leads directly in a straight line to DEAD PEOPLE.
All this is about humanity and whether you are have empathy and compassion.

Don’t you dare try to make things personal and lie about the fact that the US IS THE MOST CHARITABLE NATION ON EARTH PERIOD! Every time there is a natural disaster in the world the American Red Cross or another American charitable organization rushes in through mass donation and volunteer work to help charities.

For the record I have given to disaster victims in Japan and Haiti during their earth quakes through money donations and canned food. I’ve also given to Toys for Tots during Christmas season so that way kids who were less fortunate could have presents. I’ve personally given money to my friends who were deep under water on their bills to help them stay afloat and in many cases never got paid back. Even still I’d NEVER use my personal charity as a means to demean people because they have given less than me to others! That is wrong, immoral, and is using what should be an act of blessing and turning into sin. Don’t you dare use your ‘goodness’ as means of insulting others for not ‘matching’ your personal contributions! Not everyone has the same ability to donate first of all due to personal economic reasons among other issues.

Those words saved my friend’s life who had NO Insurance, not even medicade, and still managed to get a triple bypass operation all because of that oath!

The fundamental thing you are missing liberal p is the difference between decriminalizing / delegislating something and condoning something. Just because alcohol is legal doesn’t mean we approve of people getting drunk or worse, driving drunk.

Income taxation is what we don’t believe in. Your argument is about public goods and the free rider problem. You believe the only way to solve it is to use the coercive power of government to redistribute wealth. You rail against the rich yet you omit the subsidies, and abuse of government power to further enrich themselves, from your argument.

The question of paying my ‘bill’ to society is why am I paying for things I don’t mind paying for what I use ( use tax) what I do mind is paying for road maintenance tax in my gasoline bill, road maintenance through state and county income tax, and a 3 rd time through car registration and get what in return? The roads I drive from home to the 4 miles to work has more potholes than a mole infested yard. So I pay 3 times for my ‘bill’ but receive nothing in return. I’d sooner pay for a toll road between my house and work and not pay a road tax, state tax.

You obviously didn’t listen to the answer P Lib. He said that hospitals should not be force to provide services to anchor babies and that instead Churches and other religious organizations should take care of their medical needs. States like California among other border states have a real problem with people jumping the border to abuse the Hippocratic Oath.

To deny this is to deny the problem. Mexico should be able to take care of its own citizens and should all South American countries. It is not the US responsibility to be the free healthcare provider to the world while its own citizens have to take a seat at the back of the bus. This is all Ron Paul and others like him are trying to get across. It doesn’t mean that we don’t help these people if they come to us, it just means that we shouldn’t be force to do so either against our own will.

These medical procedures are time consuming and costly. Hospitals need to make up that lost revenue somehow and by law they have to serve everyone that is here legally. This doesn’t mean give a free ride to illegals who jump the border. I’m not against anyone here wanting to immigrate as our nation was built by immigrants who came here LEGALLY and tried to ASSIMILATE with society not try to tear it down and demand special favors.

          deadly than what is seen.
Illegal aliens’ stealthy assaults on medicine now must rouse
Americans to alert and alarm. Even President Bush describes
illegal aliens only as they are seen: strong physical laborers who
work hard in undesirable jobs with low wages, who care for their
families, and who pursue theAmerican dream.
What is unseen is their free medical care that has degraded and
closed some of America’s finest emergency medical facilities, and
caused hospital bankruptcies: 84 California hospitals are closing
their doors. “Anchor babies” born to illegal aliens instantly qualify
as citizens for welfare benefits and have caused enormous rises in
Medicaid costs and stipends under Supplemental Security Income

Rather interesting that for general searches, Ron Paul blows the rest out of the water, but on the New Reference Volume graph, Romney is in the lead.

Hmmm, gee, could that have something to do with the fact that the media is so biased and one sided in their coverage????

We need to hurt these yellow journalist’s where they live. Is there a way to force these whores to do the job they are supposed to do? There has to be a way.

I am sick of the propaganda and outright lies they spew. What about some kind of legal actions against them?

It’s time to answer to the people, you corrupt, parasitic blight on humanity. All we ask is that you present facts and let us decide who wins or loses, but no, you can’t even do that right.

You shall reap what you have sown.

    Dr Paul,

With all due respect, I think you’re having troubles with race and immigration. I think it’s inarguable that labor should freely cross borders the same way that capital and jobs and goods cross borders. Hispanic people aren’t a menace to us as a race or class.

The problem with the children of illegal immigrants obtaining ‘free’ health care is obviously with the ‘free’ part not the ‘illegal’ part. I don’t see why people born in the USA have any more entitlement to free care than people born in other countries.

The second problem, of course, is that they are in fact “illegal” because they’re not allowed to get work visas to enter legally. We need to aggressively expel illegal immigrants, but we also need to welcome as legal immigrants as many as want to come over–by giving them visas to enter as long as they have clean criminal records and can line up a job.

    Best regards,
    OPR

I have to disagree in a sense OPR.

On your first point, I think that by getting rid of the IRS and imposing a Fair Tax would solve the problem. At that point, everyone who purchases goods in this country from a non-blackmarket/underground source would be paying taxes. This would force any illegals to pay taxes like legal citizens and would most likely make this whole debate a little easier to have. So yes, I agree with you where you are saying the problem has to do with the ‘free’ tag more than the ‘illegal’ tag..

I take issue with your second problem because with all due respect, we have an unemployment problem in this country. We have government programs that are being dramatically affected because they are serving more people than they should be. Education systems that are being flooded with people they were never intended to have to support.

Laws are in place for a reason, many reasons. They aren’t put into place just to keep a certain group of people out of our ‘club’ for the heck of it. We need to control the influx of people into our population for many reasons and when people decide to break the law by coming into the country illegally, they negatively impact everyone in this country whether that was ever their intention or not.

Sorry OPR but a nation without borders is not a nation at all. I certainly agree that we need to streamline the immigration process for people who come here legally but allowing people to simply jump our border and demanding jobs is rewarding criminal behavior. If you did this in any other country you’d be sent to prison or deported. Nations of the right to defend their borders and kick people out who are not there legally. This is part of the right of self defense and having the ability to defend it’s people. If a country cannot secure itself from even the simplest of illegal migrant workers than what is to stop them from people with malicious intent from crossing over as well?

Ron Paul can consistently be counted on to say and do the right thing. When a question was asked during this debate the other candidates start up like some pre-recorded message that may or may not have anything to do with the question at hand. It is RARE that any other candidate gives a firm answer with well thought out steps to achieving anything. But you can bet Ron Paul will tell you what he thinks… you’ll get an answer that is of course consistent with what he has been saying for decades. You can be assured that Ron will give you a straight answer and he doesn’t go on tirades about Obama and “we need this from a leader” or “we need that from a leader”… Ron simply answers the question.

I have never had more respect for a politician than I do for Congressman Ron Paul. He nailed this debate. Keep it up Ron!
