Why not help him instead of trying to trip him up? You’d be helping America. Or would you rather just help yourself win instead?

Obama’s still in the backstretch, galloping towards the finish line in the distance.
Give him time; it’s only been a few years, and the world on his shoulders is heavy to move!
Try getting out of bed every morning and placing the world on your shoulders. Then try to race with that handicap!

Raise 500M+ so, Dr. Paul can flood every media venue with his message, TV, Radio, Internet, Print, & more. Understand, $500M only allows you $1.3M per day for advertising. On a nationwide scale it is still very skinny. Come on people, dig deep! This is an investment in your future that will pay dividends for you and your children for the rest of your life!
    $100K X’s 5K people = $500M
    $10K X’s 50K people = $500M
    $5K X’s100K people = $500M
    $100 X 5M people = $500M
    $25 X 20M people = $500M

Before you go all slack eyed and vote for Ron Paul you need to check his record for the number of dollars he has taken of taxpayers money for his district in Texas. I am personally familiar with millions of dollars he took to rebuild, at great expense some old derelict old theater in Freeport. Have you ever been to Freeport. Everything is derelict! We get the intense polution from Freeport in Houston. Smog and Fog and Stink like you could not ever believe.
People blinded by this man are pathetic… uninformed and really silly.

I’m gonna laugh to see how you guys defend Romney’s positions next year, because you will. Ron Paul is honest, but horribly misguided and doesn’t stand a chance. I’d wager that not even his supporters would actually want him to be the nominee. Obama would win by a larger margin than Johnson did over Goldwater in 64.

I admire Ron Paul’s sincerity and honesty, and ideological consistency. I wish more politicians were more like him. That being said, a Ron Paul presidency would horrify any sane person. Take a close look at his real positions. Civil liberties are nice, but civil rights go out the window. Corporations run amok with no oversight. No government in the form of disaster relief. If you’re so stupid you oppose FEMA, I’ve got no use for you and the majority of our country doesn’t either. Enough.

Ron Paul reminds me ( a lot ) of Kelsey Grammer’s dad on Frazier (played by the fine actor John Mahoney):
He appears a little unrefined at first glance, but when it’s crunch time, and you’re able to “hear” and understand what he’s REALLY saying; he’s VERY wise, and is ALWAYS correct.

    Legalize LOGIC!

LaCeja, you do understand what a straw poll is, right? It’s not a scientifically produced poll. The Iowa straw poll required a $30 fee from voters. Ron Paul supporters, more than anyone, have proven themselves more than willing to cough up money in his support–and God love us. This type of support skews, sometimes greatly, straw poll results. You have to face that truth. The real polls are the ones that track how people will actually vote. Ron Paul remains around the 6% mark among Republicans on those polls with little movement upward. He’s down there with Gingrich. This is the fact that the media knows which is the main reason they shrug him. There are other reasons, of course, such as the one you mention. The other main reason is that someone speaking the truth is not as entertaining as the circus clown act performed by the top scoring of the contenders. And it’s not true that the media completely ignores him. Just look at the videos posted here. Drudge has the biggest news readership on the web and he links to Paul articles all the time. Paul has been a headliner a few times there.

The Republican party is hopeless, even though they may win in 2012. They are stuck in their frame of mind. The dye has been cast by the neoCons and the religious right. I’ve heard Paul saying he wants to bring the Republican party back to what it’s supposed to be, but from my vantage point that’s a waste of time. You and I both know that Paul is more a Libertarian than a Republican, and so are his supporters. It sounds like this is probably the last time Paul will run for political office. He should be going out with a bang, Ross Perot style. He’d certainly do better than Perot did, and like you, I want him actually in the White House. The only chance for that is as a third party candidate. The Republicans will blow him off like they always do.

The Republicans are fucking idiots with them backing Idiot Gov Perry, Bachmann, Palin and fucking Beohner

Ron Paul is realistically the ONLY republican that could out debate and defeat President Obama. I voted for obama. I love our president. but i am no democrat and If Ron Paul were nominated as the Republican pres nominee I would vote for him in a millisecond. Idiot Repubs vote paul in.

The whole point of RP sticking with the Republican Party is to fix it, or at least use it to gain enough attention to have credibility as a third part candidate.

Trip, you are wrong. RP came in a very close second place in the Iowa straw poll, and the media, both liberal and conservative, went out of their way to ignore him. The ignore him, because he is anathema to them all. They are all captured by Wall Street thieves.

I too was, at first, taken aback, when RP basically said we should just ignore Iran. And, at times, those remarks still worry me. However, the truth is, we need to get off the war wagon… completely! At the same time, with our troops back here at home, we can better assess exactly what is going on with Iran. We would have more money to spend on some real espionage over there. Launching a barrage of missiles toward Iran isn’t likely to solve the problem. Indeed, it would be more likely to galvanize Iranians against us. We should get our troops back home and take a much more clandestine approach to Iran. That virus we managed to plant into their nuclear program is a very good example. If we weren’t spending trillions in foreign countries, we could spend some of it right here at home on much more high tech ways to secure our country. We’d even be better off against the Chinese as well.

All in all, Ron Paul makes a lot more sense than any candidate out there, and if he can get the conservative electorate to pull their heads out of the sand, he could turn the existing Republican party into a new party. Then you’d probably see the rinos and democrats merge into a single demopublican party.

Hey, I’m a Ron Paul supporter. I’ve got his bumper stickers on my car. This poll, unfortunately, means very little. What it probably represents is the fact that Ron Paul is the least known of the top 5 Republican candidates, therefore, the least feared by the independents and the Democrats. Of course, if people actually got to know him, then he would genuinely be the least feared. When faced with the war-mongering, closed-book religious right face of the Republican party, people will come out against it. They will “get out the vote” against Perry, Palin, Bachman, and Romney. They just don’t know who Paul is. Among Republicans, Paul still polls far behind even Palin. His chances of winning the primaries are obviously a very very long shot–that’s the main reason why the media ignores him, despite the straw polls which are won by supporter enthusiasm and short term memory rather than a real indication of the inevitable preferences of the general electorate. Sorry, the Republican party is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. I despise the majority of them. They will not elect Paul their candidate. They represent the tunnel vision of a third of the population. Another third has the Democratic tunnel vision. The remaining third is a strange mix of the brain dead, wishy washy, and true patriots. I wish Paul were running as a new third party candidate. I wish he’d bail out of the party right now so he could go on to win the Presidency. In that case, I think he would have a genuine chance of winning. Poised against the two sock puppet clowns the Republicrats are going to vomit up for our entertainment, I think Paul’s message could come across loud and clear, and people are ready to hear it.

You wouldn’t guess it from all the Internet noise about Ron Paul — but he’s polling at only 6% among Republicans. Face it, he’s a fringe candidate with a kind of cult following. What do you expect from someone whose positions (and charisma) are virtually identical to those of Pat Buchanan?

Sean, unfortunately, it is far more sinister than you think. The wars are designed to loot the treasury and expedite the financial collapse of this country. The whole idea is, and has been, since before the creation of the Fed, to steal everything. They’ve already taken care of stealing all the gold, thanks to Mr. Nixon. The follow on plan was a lot like what’s happening to Greece, that is to get the government to post everything as collateral, so the bankers can foreclose on it all, when we do go belly up. Evidence, what they’re doing to homeowners. First they stole all the money (bailouts), now they take all the land, notably the farm land. They’ve already gotten the government to give them all the mineral rights in areas that have gold and other precious metals.

If we can get Ron Paul elected, there is one small bright spot. He can put us back on a gold standard, which will take awhile, AND, most importantly, he can tell the Fed to take a hike on the $2 trillion we’ve “borrowed” from them. Just watch and see. If RP gets elected, you’ll see rates on treasury notes skyrocket. That’s because no one outside of the Fed will want them. I would really like to see a regular and frequent (monthly) audit of the Fed, to see if they start trying to dump treasuries, when they see RP has a real shot of getting the nomination. That’s also when you’ll see the big guns come out to slam RP as much as possible. They’ll be making stuff up that will have your head spinning. All false, however. But, it won’t matter. There are so many uneducated folks in this country, who will believe whatever the press tells them. It’s incredible. I have a daughter, who is a school teacher, and it’s like talking to a wall. She’s got a master’s degree, but has no common sense at all. It’s just really scary.

We need to get some friendly debates going. Yea of coarse Obama vs. Ron Paul, But how about Rick Parry? I would love to see that one. A one on one battle so the whole world can see. That would be epic. I can imagine it, Rick Parry pleasing the audience with his “Charisma” and Ron Paul actually attacking issues. After Rick Parry gets his ass handed to him you know for a fact there would be those ignorant ass people who are still in complete denial that Ron Paul can and will make a fix America.

Ron Paul is a Christian reconstructionist and a plutocrat. He gave the keynote address to the racist John Birch Society in 2008. The more Americans get to know his extremist views, the less they will like him. He would only take America one direction: backward.

Ron Paul is the only politician who actually really stands for his principles and doesn’t just make empty promises as a marketing campaign for votes. As someone who voted for him years ago and couldn’t understand how more people couldn’t see how much clearly better he was for president than McCain or Obama it’s nice to see him gaining so much ground this time around. It just sucks that it took 4 more years of puppet politicians digging us further down in the same hole for more people to wake up
