Force vs. Reason: Rick Perry Gets in Ron Paul’s Face

During a commercial break at Wednesday’s Republican debate, Rick Perry and Ron Paul continued their spirited exchange on stage. Suddenly, Perry grabbed Ron Paul’s forearm while aggressively pointing his index finger towards the Congressman’s face. Alerted by Perry’s menacing gestures, Ron Paul’s bodyguard (front left) rushed to the stage and put his protective hand on the podium, demonstrating that he was ready to defend the Congressman.

Update: On Thursday, a Rick Perry spokesman stated that the two contenders were having a cordial conversation about border security. Ron Paul laughed off the incident, saying that he did not particularly focus on Perry’s body language during the exchange. And Ron Paul’s campaign chairman Jesse Benton came out swinging:

“What it shows is that Rick Perry is a very aggressive, in your face person. He puts his hands on people, he tries to show that he’s the alpha dog, he tries to psychologically intimidate people and gets in people’s faces. Some people like that, but other people like someone who’s going to be a more thoughtful president, not a bully.”

Read the polls coming from Texas. The Houston Chronicle runs one every week between rick perry and Ron Paul. The last 2 weeks were 73% and 76% for Ron Paul!! 🙂 And a tiny, little 9% each week for rick perry. Texans know the truth since both rick perry and Ron Paul are from Texas.

Ron Paul was not given adequate questions or time, but did well. He still isn’t receiving good enough recognition despite the fact that beat the other candidates on MSNBC’s poll of who won the debate. Politics have become a popularity and beauty contest. People use the phrase “looks presidential” If Dr. Paul does not win life will still go on, but things will be a lot worse off than if he gets the chance to be president.

I watched the whole “debate”. My son walked out after 20 minutes he said “Its the same shi* as 2008” meaning MSNBC ignoring Dr. Paul.

Moderators asked about health care, didn’t go to Dr. Paul, moderators asked about the fed, didn’t go to Congressman Paul.

After an hour of standing tall Ron Paul started to slouch, that’s what bothers me. He is a strong proud man but this crap would wear on anyone.

I don’t worry about Perry, Ron Paul can take care of himself.

The media is a cesspool, but Ron Paul supporters will never waver. We KNOW who we want for president, we KNOW who America needs for our president.

God Bless you Dr. Paul for your morals, honesty, your love of the constitution, liberty and right to life.

I honestly bet that Paul could kick Perrys ass if he pushed it. Paul is in very good shape and regularly runs 10+ miles. He is quite cut. Also the only Congressman to hit a home run in their anual baseball game.

However if Perry wants to get to threats, he is really barking up the WRONG tree. Remember Mr Perry, Paul has the support of the PEOPLE.

I can only imagine what threat Perry barked at Paul, but he deserves a facepunch.

Ron Paul be patient..I dont like that he was ignored once again..BUT..He whooped some ass in both MSNBC polls..Was #1 in both of them.Iam truely upset about his treatment though..Right after the debates were over,I called Time Warner and told them Iam canceling my cable, and why!!And I will not get it back any time soon..I will also write them a letter, and put in my last bill they send me..IF you guys really want to support Dr Paul,PLEASE do the same..Atleast until next year after the elections..Thats no big deal right? If we support Dr Paul,we can ALL do this, and spread the word to ALL others that support him,to do the same..They will lose millions of dollars a month..If we organize this,it will work out GREAT!!!!You could also put a little of the Ron Paul ideals to work..By using the free market for your entertainment..Internet,netflix,zoon,hulu,and what ever else..Lets do this..Im willing to talk to anyone that can organize this..Im willing to HELP!!

The thing is, in this Election, like the last… Everyone Running except for Ron Paul, Might as well have a Hole in their Backs with a set of Strings tied to their Lips…

And Big Banks as well as Big Business owned by those Banks are the Ones pulling the Strings.

Pray for Ron and Pray for Liberty… Because after Ron Paul, there will never be another Congressman like Him. Because they will not allow another Congressman to ever utter the words of TRUTH again, as he has.

Mr. Paul is one of a kind. Too bad others in Congress are such Jelly Fish Sucking Mental Midgets without Morals or Intestinal Fortitude… They’re Spineless, and have succumb to the Greed that is Fed to them by the Rich Banks and the Corporations that they own.

Corporations have the same Rights as an Individual… That very Law is what allows them to Make Campaign Donations that would otherwise be Unlawful. Those Banks and their Corporations owned by them, have Bought most of our Congress Members, Lock Stock and Barrel, The same way they’ve Bought the Media.

The Separation of the Legislative, Military and Judicial Branches of Power were for a very good Reason. Those days are over. The U.S. Government… That is… The Government of the 50 States of the Union… Is now a Days Dwarfed by the Ever Growing Federal Government it was meant to keep in Check.

Ron is trying to tell us that the Federal Government has no Business Meddling in the Affairs of the 50 States, or the Laws in which those 50 States have in place. Regardless of weather it Concerns Medical Marijuana, Gay Rights, Abortion or Vaccinations, Etc. Etc…

The time to choose the Right Man for the Job is Now… Because we certainly didn’t get it right last time.

Mr. Perry, We’re all interested in knowing what you said to Mr. Paul during your “Pointed” Exchange. People will not Tolerate Intimidation Tactics, Unlawful Campaign Tactics, or the Threatening of Mr. Paul.

Mr. Perry… You are a Shrinky Dink of a Man In the Face of a Great Man like Congressman Paul…

The sooner People like you Realize… The Better… Yes, We as a republic care about Healthcare, we care about Social Security, Housing, Jobs Etc Etc…

But what we care about Most, is our Families that we can no longer Support. What we care about Most… Is our Current Foreign and Economic Policy. These are the things we care about Most… And these are the things Mr. Paul Cares about Most.

They are also However… The things that the rest of you Running, are focusing the LEAST… on.

Ultimately, the greatest leaders do not actually seek to lead, but to teach. They do not seek power for themselves; they seek to empower the common man.

Mr. Perry I dare say that you are not a Leader… And you Seek to Empower no one but yourself.

Thank you all for your time.

I am appalled at Rick Perry grabbing Dr. Paul and pointing his finger at him. It’s a confirmation of my immediate gut feeling about Perry — he is a sleazy snake oil salesman. I am also equally appalled at the audience when they were cheering with the snake oil salesman with glee for being the leader in state-sponsored executions. The Republican party is clearly the blood-thirsty warmonger party, both at home and abroad!!! How far we have sunk.

I am also outraged by how Dr. Paul was virtually shut out of the debate. Dr. Paul stood there patiently over 1 1/2 hours and was asked about 4 questions. What a premeditated media set up. And if anyone doubts there is a bias, Dr. Paul had to insert himself ,after the fact ,so he could comment on a question about healthcare. Dr. Paul, who is a doctor, wasn’t even given the opportunity to comment on a subject he is the only expert on!!! I am speechless.

I hope, Dr. Paul, that you will file a complaint against this media group and any future media sponsors and expose how they are deliberately depriving the American people of an honest debate and ultimately an honest and fair election. They are clearly afraid of the American people being given the opportunity to hear Dr. Paul and to start waking up. The media is determined to pick the candidates.

Dr. Paul — I will be working even harder for your campaign. Keep up the great work. You have so much integrity and class. You are clearly too good for the Republican party. I think it is time to think about a third party run.
