Dr. Ron Paul: Protect Life, Protect Liberty

Dr. Ron Paul. More than 4,000 babies delivered. A man of faith, committed to protecting life.

Ron Paul: This whole notion of life not being valuable just is something I was never able to accept.

I happened to walk into an operating room where they were doing an abortion on a late pregnancy. They lifted out a small baby that was able to cry and breathe, and they put it in a little bucket and put it in a corner of the room, and pretended it wasn’t there.

I walked down the hallway and a baby was born early, slightly bigger than the baby they just put in the bucket, they wanted to save this baby. So they might have had ten doctors in there doing everything conceivable.

Who are we to decide that we pick and throw one away and pick up and struggle to save the other ones? Unless we resolve this and understand that life is precious and we must protect life, we can’t protect liberty.

This story makes no sense whatsoever. I’ve worked at a medical transcriptionist for years servicing OB/Gyns and typed up hundreds of births and abortions, and I’m sitting here wondering what the hell Paul is talking about. Why was he just wandering into operating rooms randomly? What year was this done? While he was in service or private practice? Was this before or after Roe v. Wade? What was the procedure used here? Why was it done? Was this “crying and breathing” baby dying? Was the mother dying? There are too many unanswered questions here. I don’t know why they would put a crying and breathing baby (even if it is dying) in the tissue bucket, because that’s gross mishandling, and I suspect an embellishment here. I warn anybody reading this page to stop for a moment and think hard. Doctors don’t just perform late term abortions on women unless something has very SERIOUSLY wrong. Whatever Paul saw here, it was a WANTED pregnancy that had gone drastically wrong. Pro-lifers typically make exceptions for the life of the mother or a dying infant. Don’t get swept up in the blatant emotional manipulation here. RESEARCH.
