    Timothy’s “success” is not my fault, so why should my rights be sacrificed because of the actions of another person? Our Government was set up to prevent that very type of injustice. The existence of criminals or “bad people” should not be used as an excuse to run roughshod over everyone else. Newt is all TOO HAPPY to seize power in contradiction to the Constitution, and this was another damning example of it. Dr Paul’s response, while morally and politically correct, was not delivered in a very convincing fashion.

  5. USA TWINS Project

    The only thing that Ron Paul can do to add to his campaign is create a new platform like the Aqua=Terra TWINS (Trans-Web Infrastructure Network System) Project. This undertaking will create from scratch an advanced infrastructure system that is based on advanced transportation technology that will allow us to travel safely at speeds of 350 mph for local trips and 4,000+ mph for longer journeys. Think about the benefits of traveling or transporting cargo from New York to California in 45 minutes or anywhere else in America. This would bring great prosperity by creating demand for mass employment to all States and new export for America. Do understand that all project components are available and this can be done without taxpayer money and at a fraction of the cost of the most recent proposals (i.e High Speed Rail / Bullet Train). The idea of the TWINS project is to interconnect all of the State Capitals, including Washington DC, by a network of Terra (Land-based) Bypass Stations that are linked by a vacuum transport systems patented by ET3 (www.et3.com). These Terra Stations will eventually connect to an international system with the oceanic Aqua=Terra network (www.invention.net/aquaterra). Anyway, this new platform idea for Ron Paul would bring very positive attention to his campaign and since it is a real solution to economic and social issues facing America at this time. Those involved in this undertaking would be pleased to meet with Ron Paul and his staff to discuss far more detail of this undertaking and the benefits it will bring to all of America for the very long term.

    Cheers!

    These debates are a great way of seeing which candidates actually know what they are talking about, and those who have no idea. Go Ron Paul.

  9. Ron Paul Patriot

    I agree that Ron Paul is the only true statesman and the only hope for our great, but rapidly declining, country. Please consider helping Dr. Paul gain credibility with the use of a fast-growing means to spread his grand message – the use of bumper stickers. The absolute best deals can be found at http://www.Stickers2012.com. Happy Thanksgiving!

    The participants talked alot about external imaginary “threats” from China, Pakistan, Iran, etc, Twenty years ago the evil ones were Japan (which had a booming economy and undervalued currency like China does now) and the USSR. It seems that America just cannot live without an enemy. I get it, the us vs. them is great in rallying voters. But what about threats from within? Why is it that nobody talks about the lobby groups, the military industrial complex, the consumption lifestyle, and bloated entitlements? These are the things that can damage America, not China. China is our largest creditor! When you owe someone 100 bucks you’re in trouble, if you owe him a hundred billion, he’s in trouble!

      NeoCon philosophy dictates that you need an enemy image to keep the country together as a rallying point. That’s why so many fantasies of enemies and threats are talked about all the time. As for threats from within well obviously they aren’t going to go after the institutions and mechanisms that keep them wealthy and in power. Lobby groups, military complex, consumption lifestyle, all these things keep their supporters and campaign contributors pockets nice and lined with money. Only Ron Paul has tried to get to the real issues and ignore these fairy tale enemy figures/threats. Now if only he stopped believing the fairy tale about God and he would be the ultimate candidate for reason and change

    America has always been vulnerable to terrorist attacks, McVeigh, Major Nadal, etc;;

    all common symptoms of our time.

    But Newt is arguing that it’s OK to turn American into a Police State… everyone is a suspect and treated like a crimminal until the TSA clears them.

    The Patriot Act gives Government agencies cart blanc authority to abuse whomever they choose.

    The current terrorists conditions are poor justification for the Patriot Act which is the final step toward Totalitarian Tyranny.

    1984 has arrived

    Timothy mcveigh was not succesful with his terrorism attack, the US government fail their people to protect them, same thing as in 9/11. They should use their intelligence, just like they used to before and stop an attack before it happens and not used the patriot act against every citizen in the united states. Or profile, like santorum/newt suggest in order to find a terrorist.

    Agreed, I definitely felt the sting when Newt responded to the McVeigh comment. I still think Ron is in the right but that’s not going to win over many converts. One thing that I’d really like to see mentioned when people start going on about how we’d be endangering the nation to cut back on defense spending is that fact that the US spends more on it’s military the almost the rest of the world combined. (source: http://www.globalissues.org/article/75/world-military-spending#InContextUSMilitarySpendingVersusRestoftheWorld )

    So the simple question is ‘Do people really think America is in greater danger than anywhere else in the world and do they simply think it’s because people hate our freedom?

    Love Ron. Will vote for Ron, even third party. But, the Timothy McVeigh (sp?) line hurt. At least 2 times others mentioned Ron Paul and he was NOT given his rebuttal time (Santorum and I think Perry).

      @Brian Barrett I hear ya. Newt had a good point. Maybe should have used another example like the IRA afterwards. I’m not worried though, The patriot act is unconstitutional and will not hold up to the light.
