Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you have done a awesome job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Firefox. Outstanding Blog!
I was examining some of your content material on this internet web site and I believe this internet site is rattling instructive! Keep putting up.
I enjoy what we guys are generally up also. Such clever work as well as coverage! Keep up the awesome operates guys I’ve incorporated anyone guys to blogroll.
Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something informative to read?
Since I tend judge people first by what they say (although once was fooled so well by candidate Obama with his “Change and hope” talk), when I listen to Ron Paul, he comes across as one of the most honest politicians constantly saying the right things making his policies based on common sense and logic (since our constitution is based on common sense and logic). However, the media from both sides of the spectrum is telling us a whole different story. It is hard to blame journalists since they are well paid salary persons who got to make a living saying what their corporate owners wish them to say but enough people will buy what the media sells them to turn against Ron Paul without giving him a chance to answer those charges. Paul should face those charges and answer them as honestly as he answers question involving money and finance without running away. Most people are forgiving and don’t expect anyone to be perfect and will allow politicians to redeem themselves had they made any derogatory and insensitive comments in the past (who among us has not has done that?).
@Andrew Weeraratne Im not sure how much more he could answer those charges. Ive seen video after video on youtube with him doing that. They accuse, he answers. And dont feel bad, I was fooled by Bush too. His promises sounded so good and after all he was a Christian man. He wouldnt lie, right? By the second time around he was calling for Congress to do a massive amnesty, while saying it wasnt amnesty and lost most of his support. But he never lost the good ole boys support and somehow they are still running the show. Isnt it amazing.
Let’s not single out Bush for not being a good Christian. The whole Republican Party politics are most unlike to what Jesus Christ preached to take care of the old, the sick and the poor and thus would be called a “socialist.” The rightwing media so well paid by (those few who have the most wealth) to successfully brainwash the people to vote against their self-interest would digitally crucify Christ if he appears and ask to help the needy. Republican Party platform is more in line with the preaching of Ayn Rand, who did not believe in God and preached mostly the opposite of what Christ preached. Ron Paul is that he is no hypocrite. He named his son after Ayn Rand. Similarly the current GOP should change its name to Grand Rand Party. If there is any nation on earth that follows what Jesus Christ preached then it is Scandinavia. If you have not been there, make a visit and you will see that Scandinavia is truly the heaven on earth proving that Christ has not been wrong; it pays to take care of the basic human needs of all citizens for that will only strengthen a nation. Wealth in the hands of a few creates fascism.
@Andrew Weeraratne I love Ron Paul, but to say that our only choices are either socialism or corporate fascism. Thats a pretty sad choice. And while I believe our land should be filled with charities, I in no way think the government should run those charities, unless someone is breaking a law locally. Then they are obligated to do something. Charity begins at home and not in the White House. If prospering is offensive to one side I reject that and if charity is offensive to the other side I reject that. Freedom is the right to choose. I simply see that the federal government has usurped most of the states rights to govern themselves and forces so many expenses on them that are unconstitutional that they simply cant afford to. This is how the beast works.
@Andrew Weeraratne Ron Paul did NOT name his son after Ayn Rand. http://youtu.be/oD-R_OeP6tU people really need to stop spreading this crap. Here is another lovely article for you to read, it will take you awhile though. Enjoy! http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com/MomsPDFs/DDDoA.sml.pdf
@[email protected]books. The public colleges are just government cesspools to teach agenda.
@CarolFryer Direct email me at my handle here plus yahoo.com
@CarolFryer Carol, my email is [email protected] The only link I have is the same one I posted, but maybe through email it will work, it’s a PDF file. Might be why it won’t work for you?
@CeltGunn1970 Oh boy. I loose. I cant figure out how to do that. And Ive gotten filed in my email. I just cant open them. Dont worry. Its ok. From your last post on your profile I guess you were having some issues too, so dont worry. I probably am already well aware of what it says.
Thanks for correcting my error about Rand Paul being named after Ayn Rand. I am sure I read it somewhere. That goes to say that one has to be careful about what one reads.
@Andrew Weeraratne Always welcome! Please save that link and share it with others who do the same? =)
Not sure where you got the impression that I would say “choices are either socialism or corporate fascism,” never said that anywhere and willing to give what Ron Paul says a chance because what he says is logical and drives by common sense. It would be good if we can have a nation that government is not controlled by interest groups, using that as a piggy bank to get welfare for those interest groups while taxing the hardworking people. If we can do that, a small govt would be perfect. But I am not sure how practical it is. It may be like trying to have a highway system without traffic laws. The ruthless if become powerful and wealthy will try to exploit the hardworking good people and they will find a way as illustrates by George Orwell in “Animal Farm.” Also branding of people and systems as liberals and socialism etc is meaningless. If some system makes sense one should admire it. If someone says something backed by facts then one should investigate it and endorse it even if it was said by someone that one would brand as a liberal or conservative.
@Andrew WeeraratneAndrew Im sorry if I misjudged what you said. I agree with you. Facts and researchable ones speak for themselves.
@CeltGunn1970 Ok I did a search on just deliberate dumbing down video and came up with what you were talking about. Thanks. And this woman lived through it herself. Just watching Cspan however, and listening to the congress speak and vote was enough to show me how real this is and how they are all on the same team. I was aware of allot of this but Im sure theres tons more info she knows, being directly involved in it. Smart lady.
Carol I don’t endorse any welfare either. For example in Scandinavia when government gives all its people free education, free healthcare and free housing if one falls into dire times it is not welfare but a government sponsored insurance system whereby they charge the working people progressively (and it is called taxes). The difference is that in the USA insurance companies charge working people to provide the same regressively, for example, the lower your pay higher the amount of rate for health insurance. Poorer you are higher the rate of expenses to get an education (if one can afford it). And one cannot live without health insurance since all can become sick. Also Scandinavian governments don’t take the taxpayer money and pay those in the govt, huge bonuses whereas the health insurance companies charge those who need insurance expensively so that the CEO can get a $100 million bonus (same with healthcare providers). Just because it is branded as private sector it does not mean it is any different from big government. Terms and appearances can be deceptive. Unfortunately we don’t have to time to elaborate these.
@CarolFryer Yeah, try to find the book, PDF file if you can… it’s absolutely stunning. I’ve been slowly reading it. Shocking stuff. It’s STILL happening in our schools today. 0_o Frightening really. So I want my daughter to read it and understand, so she can make up her own mind, stand up for herself.
By this illogical (non)reasoning, that RP should be ‘condemned’ for the name he and his wife gave their newborn baby, we better condemn Andrew’s parents for naming him after the serial killer “Andrew” Cunanan, because why else would they give the name of a serial killer to their baby? That’s what people are saying when they condemn Ron Paul for naming their child whatever ever name they like – which was RANDAL, nic-name RANDY when he was growing up. Well, sort of – Ayn Rand never harmed anyone in her entire life, and she sure didn’t murder anyone.
@Andrew Weeraratne Im sorry Andrew I may be reading you wrong again but government sponsored support is welfare. Charity should not be run by government. People know how to care for other people.
@Andrew Weeraratne Even in the old testiment God left instructions for people to allow the poor to glean and work to get food for their families. Jesus never advocated that the pharisees start a program to help the poor because he knew they were corrupt. You allow a corrupt person to care for the poor and the poor will never see that help. Well knowing this government they would help one person who vows to vote for them and send a photo op to prove they helped them and smear it all over the news of the nation.
@CarolFryer Logically Scandinavian healthcare system is an insurance program managed by the government so that there is no middle man as it is in the USA collecting huge profits so that a few at management of private insurance companies could pick up extreme compensation. Scandinavian government servants who manage that insurance (assuring no citizen is deprived of healthcare) get paid the same as those who pay that insurance. But believe what you wish and while at it, send a note to the insurance Co. CEO asking for a reward for doing marketing. They pay huge compensation to the rightwing journalists to do that since it is easy money running a cartel. The USA has many problems and welfare for the needy that you go after is a minor problem. What bankrupts nation is the welfare for wealthy. They get trillions in welfare because they own the government and manage to keep people from rising against by owning the media having control of what people hear and thus how they think knowing that if anger could be diverted to hate scapegoats they are safe and they are succeeding.
@Andrew [email protected]
You are so right! Wall Street and the BIG BANKS own the country , including the goovernment/
@Andrew Weeraratne Ok so you think this is a good thing? I dont like insurance companies and I think they are a total scam, but for government to be the answer is insanity. Thats like them stealing our social security that they forced out of us and then telling us theres no money, and not fixing it or putting it back into a private fund, but just throwing more money at it. Thats what I call insanity. Or like the debt ceiling. Instead of cutting back, raising the debate ceiling so they could spend more. Washington is insane. And scams are their game. What ever one side sets up the other sides hijacks and runs with.
@Andrew Weeraratne Forgive the spelling. I rushed too much on that…lol.
@Andrew Weeraratne And besides that , I wouldnt trust this government right now to watch my dog.
Do you know how many corporate pension plans have gone bankrupt and being BR? Social Security is the most successful pension plan in history and currently over $2 trillion in surplus. If you call SS holding 2 trillion worth US bonds is useless then many foreign governments and many private pension plans and investments funds are all BR. Without destroying SS those making money beyond cost to live can invest in stock market and build an additional nest egg. But good luck in trusting the scam called the stock market. It’s no place for non-professional. Most 3rd world governments have no insurance program no assistance so the elderly with poor families are homeless. At a time most governments are going bankrupt a few nations providing basic humans needs such as Scandinavia face no economic crisis. So look at the facts while holding utopian visions of free marketplace providing solutions to human problems; no prosperous nation in history following that dogma. I support Ron Paul because he is the only one with courage to eliminate welfare for the super wealthy that is bankrupting the USA, but not a fanatic about his Austrian Economics which I think is impractical.
I was listening earlier to what seemed like a libertarian on CSPAN. He was debating a liberal. To me liberals just make absolutely no sense. They are only out for what they can get free. So I dont even listen to them anymore. They are totally unconstitutional. But the so called right, who are supposed to be conservatives, have been compromising and screwing us royally while they tell us they are doing what WE want. It seems I get more upset by the day because these people seem to be just laughing at us. All they think they have to do is ignore us like they do Ron Paul. I just went to a survey of who people want to be president and they of course, being the good ole boys club kiss butts that they are, said people didnt even vote for Ron Paul on the list. So all the rest of their Rhinos they had in 1st place, 2nd place, etc. Im voting for Ron Paul. Im making a list of people to totally black out. I refuse to support people who refuse to support me and the nations good. Usually when I decide to do this one little thing, I find out millions of others had the same idea and it had a shaking affect. I will show them what my freedom will do for them. Black out time.
we gave the radicals a chance with Obama, now lets go with the person who wants strong economy, strong military, strong civil liberties and downsizing government… R Paul.
If Ron Paul wins and is able to implement his ideas will we start caring more about each other again or will it be even more dog eat dog? America has had the disease of apathetic opulence for years and we have all suffered for it. It was this idea of being worried almost strictly about the economy that kept us asleep and caused us to neglect what was going on. I am interested in what people’s opinions are on this because I think we should be an example to the world but I am unsure if this is realistic. Could we make a better society without so much government or will it become individual greed run amok?? Any observations would be appreciated…
Like I said , they will do anything to drive him out of the running. He threatens all theyve built in their empires.
I noticed that too. They dont cut off the others the way they do Paul and he feels that pressure and then just like most of us, tries to rush his words and his mouth runs ahead of his brain. Been there, done that…lol Its just impossible I think to stop that other then to tell him to relax, but thats easy to say, not being under that pressure. They will do anything to drive him out of the field.
Agreed, he should ignore the buzzer just like Romney does, and Newt does, and Bachmann does. He should interrupt them just like they do him!
Gift? They made it a tax and now spend it like drunken sailors. That gift was to themselves. I personally feel too many people have been duped into allowing the government to think for them and be their god. What you are talking about in investment seems to be just another one of those kingdoms some rich guys are still busy building to create systems you are forced to go through in order to even touch it. For example, we used to be able to just go to the doctor when we were sick. That is just about being all phased out of our lives. We have to have someone as a go between in so many things. Its sad. Its creating more scams and thrones. And people dont realize how much it takes away from their own ability to function without someone holding their hand. And it just makes it too expensive for the average person to survive.
I agree with you partly. Medicare is a welfare scam for the health industry to bilk the taxpayer without any limits and employee based health insurance is an indirect taxation so that HI executives could make $100 million bonus; there should be no middle man. But you are wrong about SS, it is contributed by workers at a reasonable rate and (should be) invested in the most secured investment such as govt bonds (except that the FED, to help out their cronies bring the rate of interest below market rate and destroy social security along with the savings of everyone except their insiders). I agree politicians are stealing SS fund to give away in corporate welfare. Instead SS should be kept in a trust fund that cannot be touched. If we do that there is enough money to pay the retirees. But you are told lies about that by the media and many believe those lies.
@Andrew Weeraratne Yes SS is funded by the workers. But lets look at its history. When it started it was volentary. Now its mandatory. When it started it was a private account for you, not its not private and is a tax and they can give it to Johan Bach jr. Yep it started sounding great and now its a scam. Its gone. They spent it. Media. I dont believe anything media has to say, not Fox, not CNN, none of them. They are just mouth pieces for government. I also would like to see it put back into a private fund that politicians cant touch. But every time Ive seen this address the politicians talk right around the issue and dont acknowledge it. They know they screwed us and think they can ignore it. I wont let them.
I am telling you from personal experience, I have been making my living out of the financial market for the last 12 years and in spite of the fact that I have spent a lifetime in finance still paid a huge price before I learned how to make money in the market. I don’t believe an average person including highly paid executives would be able to do it alone and multiply their investment for retirement. One major crash (as a result of a bubble created by our government to make the President in place look good) will wipe out most of them. In addition financial managers and experts with other peoples’ money also get wiped out by such markets corrections. Only a small percentage in the world could survive all conditions. SS is such a minor amount that people have to set aside for their own future. Paul should first focus on fixing healthcare the FED, corporate welfare etc before attacking SS.
Social Security is the greatest gift government (constantly favoring the wealthiest through tax laws etc.) given the working person in the last few decades. It’s impossible for average worker to save and multiply that for a nest egg dealing with the corrupt investment Industry backed by the FED, helped with constant de-regulations. Unless Dr. Paul can first clean up the industry there’s no hope for working man a retirement fund. No other developed nation leaves the fate of the elderly in the hands of the marketplace. Only in the 3rd world we find what Paul advocates represented by a huge homeless population while a few hold all the wealth.
@Andrew Weeraratne that’s a good argument. But to an answer to that is People need to make their own financial decisions based on research and experience. I don’t need the Govt to take my money and tell me how or when to deal with it. Yes there has been some scandals but not all of us got caught up in that. Sad but everyone would be out of business if Govt hadnt bailed them out with our money. Never forget either that this is the USA. If your poor and hapless you have only yourself to blame. Everyone gets a chance here, unlike anywhere else. But good argument.
CameronRankin As I mentioned average working person is not sophisticated enough to save & invest for retirment going against the corrupt investment climate. FDR did not advocate government take citizens’ money and invest for their benefit (unwarranted exaggeration—you can invest everything above 7.65% on your earned income and 100% above SS ceiling and 100% of other cash inflow) but social security is only a minimum amount that govt mandated to set aside so that unsophisticated elderly won’t be homeless as it is in the 3rd world. I make my living out of investing in the market and can guarantee that it is no place for non-professional. Look at how 401ks have been wiped out.
@Andrew Weeraratne Wow, whatever did the elderly do before there was a “government” to be responsible for them. Oh yeah… their FAMILIES not only looked out for them, but they revered them – they were not treated like something to get away from.
With Ron Paul able to make corrections that enable free-market capitalism instead of the crony-capitalism we have today, everyone will be much better off and much more able to fend for themselves, and to afford to take care of their aging parents/grandparents should they need it.
As far as not being sophisticated enough… well, that’s not my problem. I wasn’t “sophisticated” enough to plan for my retirement either, but I’m sure not going to go hat in hand to the tax payer to ‘bail me out’ of my own mess.
For the truly poor and unfortunate who really can’t fend for themselves, there will always be state supported welfare – just like there were in all states before the government took it all over with it’s little ponzi scheme Imagine if all those tax dollars that were sent to the federal government to be skimmed and filtered through layer upon layer of bureaucracy (very expensive bureaucracy – worth 100’s of billions of dollars every year) before anyone sees a dime of it – imagine if that money were left in the states and communities to better care for those in need. Much more effective and much more efficient.
Get the federal government out of everything but PROTECTING our civil rights and defending the country.
@Andrew Weeraratne Correction, we WERE planning our retirement until government-Wall Street cronyism lost it ALL.
KatiiBlood I agree about old-fashioned values that are still honored in places like Italy, China and India to name a few. But that’s not the reality here anymore. If Ron Paul can clean up all the corruption in the investment, insurance, healthcare, the FED etc., your idealism will work. But that is an impossible task to be done practically. Some interest group will eliminate Ron Paul before he can achieve that. So let’s be practical and make sure unsophisticated working population is not driven to homelessness, crime and even worse a bloody revolution as in the rest of the world.
Ron Paul supporters are young, idealistic & honorable but little bit of maturity should be in place for them to look at reality. BTW social security fund has a few trillions in surplus invested in US bonds. If you argue those bonds are worthless then many nations, and many private retirement funds and many banks are also in the same trouble as the SS fund.
@Andrew Weeraratne Nice shot, however all that says is just go along with the good ole boys and dont touch their thrones. They need your money more then you do. Sorry, dont buy it. To say that the antz have no power when they come together and join forces is kind of silly in itself. Then to be so aragant as to call people young and idealistic and honorable while you try to belittle them, just lost their attention…lol Im a great grandma. Been through the wringer already. Dont bother. Been there done that. Ill vote for Ron Paul.
@Andrew Weeraratne No, Andrew, Ron Paul supporters are not all “young and idealistic” – I am 58 years old, my husband is older than I am, so are two of my sisters and about 100 other people I know just locally in this tiny town I live in who all are active RP supporters. Both of my two grown sons – 35 and 40 support Ron Paul. People showing up at Paul’s town halls in Iowa and elsewhere look pretty ‘old’ to me!
“Idealistic” … that describes the “young, idealistic” Founders of the United States of America.
Don’t use the word “idealistic” as if it were a bad thing. Ideals are what make for great people and great things – and great countries. It is the departure from “ideals” that has been the ruin of America.
I will take “Ideals” over this f’d up “reality” we are living with ANY day! It will be “ideals” that turn this country around. Accepting “reality” is what will bury it.
Of course it can not be ONE person in four years that will be able to wave a magic wand to make everything good and right again. What is absolutely necessary and critical, however, is ONE person in four years to open the door and lead the way for others to continue on down the road. WE have to start electing honest, principled Constitutionalist Representatives. That is up to THE PEOPLE. That’s OUR job. This whole damn government over-haul is OUR job, not the President’s.
We have to “begin” sometime, we have to start “somewhere” and someone has to fire the starting gun. RON PAUL is the ONLY candidate capable AND willing, the only candidate with the COURAGE to do so. The time is Now. The person to lead the ‘charge’ as it were, is Ron Paul.
No, I will not vote for the kind of ‘realism’ you are suggesting. No way, no how. Not ever.
Besides, Andrew, are you suggesting there is even another choice? Really?
Good job Ron Paul.
