    To Patrick Fitzmichael: LOL?

I hope you choose to leave that life-style, but in the meantime kudos for being funny at least.

I was initially supportive of Paul because I thought he cared about my liberty as a gay man. Then i found out that he wants to get the government out of the marriage business, which really upset me because I want the government more involved in my personal life. I want the government to force other people to recognize my relationship. The more I found out about him, the more I discovered that he was really just an old John Bircher. He's basically a fraud and he hates gays. I blogged about it here:

    http://twogaybullies.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/ron-paul-arguably-more-homophobic-than-fellow-gop-bigots-if-thats-possible/

He even opposes Lawrence v. Texas!

Believe it or not, I actually prefer Santorum to Paul. Not by much, but a little.

@Patrick Fitzmichael if you want the government more involved then you are right Ron Paul is not your guy. RP does care about your liberty but maybe not "as a gay man" as you say .... but how about "as a man" period? Liberty is for everyone not special interest groups that seperate us instead of uniting.

think about it - i hope you might change your mind about voting for RP.

@Patrick Fitzmichael You are right in one way, and that is Ron Paul believes the government should not be in the business of telling people what they need to accept, but allow people to live freely. The government should not be involved in marriage, only civil unions.

@Patrick Fitzmichael How would you like the government to force others to recognize this? Are they to bring a gun to the houses of those who don't like gay people? I imagine you've suffered ridicule as a gay, but let the gay haters rot in their own hatred. Santorum wants to physically stop you from having gay relations. For those that vote based solely on gay rights, he's hands down the worst you can get.

"Santorum wants to physically stop you from having gay relations."

Paul is not so different in this regard. He wrote an op-ed after Lawrence v. Texas, decrying it. He didn't say that sodomy laws were good, but he did say that Texas has every right under the Tenth Amendment to have them. So, in other words, the government can be in my bedroom, so long as its the state the variety and not the federal one.I think I have a right to sodomy. I'm sure there are sexual rights in the constitution, somewhere.

        In the Congressman's own words:

"Ridiculous as sodomy laws may be, there clearly is no right to privacy nor sodomy found anywhere in the Constitution. There are, however, states’ rights — rights plainly affirmed in the Ninth and Tenth amendments. Under those amendments, the State of Texas has the right to decide for itself how to regulate social matters like sex, using its own local standards."

Read more at Lew Rockwell: http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul120.html

Also, he rejects the constitutional seperation of church and state. I mean, I know those words aren't in the constitution, but I think they should be. And so Ron Paul shouldn't say stuff like that. Especially when gay kids might kill themselves.

Did you read my blog post about this?

It's not good enough to run independently. The GOP needs to be taken over and reformed into an actual alternative, if not for the sake of practicality, then for the sake of proving a point. Ron Paul is setting his sights high and we should too. The best thing is to take over the GOP. The next best thing is to bury it by putting together a viable third-party. The latter option is difficult.

Please please please please understand that with everything you give as supporters and campaign-members you never ever gonna win if you don't check the voting-machines and how the votes been counted!!!! That's how he lost Iowa etc. in 2008!!!!!! And that would be a big disappointement again!!

Here's website that lists everything on each Presidential Candidate. There voting records and backgrounds in detail. Before, we have another election voters do your research. Don't listen to the media or the GOP establishment who would love for you to pick anyone other than Ron Paul.

Mitt Romney their anointed candidate is BIG GOVERNMENT and more. His top three contributors are Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Merrill Lynch. And his eighth highest contributor is his own company Bain & Co. Ron Paul's contributors are small donors mainly every day citizens. Who do you think will work harder to restore the economy, our liberties, and our freedom?

Ron Paul is such a threat to BIG GOVERNMENT -- they keep trying to dig up something on him, which is insane. His greatest problem is a newsletter, which was written and edited by 'someone'. Look at Romney's background; the documentation surrounding his office has been totally destroyed (distributed out) so that what he has done and said behind closed doors during his past official seat can't even be tracked! What the heck is that all about - we should be asking! HOWEVER, society seems bent on voting in their 'specified groups'; i.e. Democrate/Republican/Independent... instead of just voting for the best person to take office. It's really a shame that most of the public can't see what is happening! As much as I want Ron Paul to win, splitting the votes between Republican and Independents by having him run as an Independent is probably not a very intelligent thing if we want someone else running the United States.

@Tickled about PAUL The elected president is NOT supposed to RUN the United States. He is supposed to perform the office and duties of President "faithfully", and PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE US CONSTITUTION. And within the outline of law in the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The President is NOT supposed to BOW to any other nation or state. He is not supposed to boot lick countries like Israel, and neither is the congress. To vote for ANYONE who is outside of these guidelines is literally committing treason against the USA. He is also supposed to be knowledgeable about what has and is taking place in THIS country. I could go on and on but I know the neo cons are waiting in the wings to attack me and call all of us who support Ron Paul idiots, Paultards, etc. The people who do that are enabling the Zionists to fulfill their plan of destroying out national sovereignty.

100% true. In one of the debates RP said he doesn't And won't be the 'chief executive' of the USA. He doesn't believe in giving the office of the president MORE power. All the other candidates are sting give us MORE power and we will sort out your issues. Ron Paul's saying I'll get government out of your way and you sort out your own problems.

What liberals don't get is Ron Paul is asking those with means to take care of those who are poor and infirm, of their own volition because that is the moral and American thing to do. It is NOT the governments role to force you to do that however.

@Libertarian777@WallyDow@tickled Yes, I believe many people don't really get what he is saying. The media doesn't help by taking the worst spin on an issue either. RP doesn't want the Government to run our private lives and that means our private 'problems' too. The moral thing is to take care of our neighbors. The Government shouldn't dole out to the suffering citizen according to their own interpretation of 'suffering'. If the States want to set up their 'funds' that we support for causes like, helping the poor and needy, then we should be able to make that choice. That liberty is so far from the norm of today that the message can't even be interpreted when RP says it.

... Ron Paul needs ALL of the folks in each of these two groups (Republican and Independent) to vote for him. If he doesn't end up being 'the Republican Candidate" (knock on wood) then voting for whoever is would be the best thing to do. Because splitting those votes could cause this race to run very close to Obama taking another 4 years. Look folks, another Great Recession is coming. What I don't want is to go through a Great Recession with Obama taking away more of our rights and liberties! Life will be hard enough without our own Paid Government making us bow down even further - standing with a fist AGAINST US!

BUT ~ I'm all for RON PAUL!!!!

someone posted it on here last week and i completely agree - Ron Paul's campaign needs to attack the records of Romney and Santorum NOW. The attacks need to be specific not general. This worked well versus Gingrich because he provided endless opportunities based on his record. Finishing 3rd in Iowa was okay but not good enough. run the attack adds in New Hampshire and SC now please. I'll donate for it.

Ron Paul owes it to the people and the constitution to go 3rd party. By now there is little difference if at all between the republicans and the democrats. There is no difference between an Obama second term and a Romney first term. The GOP is no longer conservative. It is just the second branch of the two branch banking party. Also, Dr. Paul should put more emphasis on his state's rights stance on drugs and prostitution. He's been painted as the boogey man by the GOP as wanting crack dealing hookers on every corner in America.

Yep! He's shaking things up a bit...but hopefully will not feel that he needs to go 3rd party!

      Truth goes in three stages:

      1) ridicule

      2) violent opposition

      3) widely accepted

I believe Ron Paul has truth on his side. And, that he is in the middle of the second half. He's been publicly ridiculed. He's presently being violantly attacked with opposition from his constituants. By voting day, he should be wildly accepted!

      Yea!

No one can force grow an economy. The only one who would do such a thing is one who would profit off its expansion without proper representation.. This is not what our God of all existence wants or what is required to advance onward.

Understanding proper monetary policy is and art of civilization that we as a people need to comprehend. It is so important that it will help you understand why they who control it have so much power over you.

Change the status quo and issue New Currency into the population with the legislative power of the democratically elected congressional body. CFR has created their own Global aspiration. That of which you and your manipulated medias cannot understand. Because your are ignorant. If you understood proper constitutional monetary policy you then might be able to comprehend that of which is sustainable.

No its not. The USA was founded as a constitutional republic, not a democracy.

Democracies turn into socialist states because the 51% will vote away the rights and property of the 49%. Do that 5 times over and 1% of the population controls 99%

Austrian economics is the oldest school of economics and its teachings are needed today. In Roman times, the government had a hands off approach to their economy with the exception of taxes, as did America up until 1913. History shows the freer the people the more prosperous they are -along with sound money. Until we realize that personal and economic liberty are one and the same we will never be a prosperous nation as we once were. Either we can learn from history or we are doomed to repeat it.

I'm confused about that too. Fox says 13 for Romney, 12 for Santorum, 0 for Paul. CNN says 7 for each. Last night I saw 11, 11, 3 somewhere. Today I saw 6 for each somewhere. I'm guessing it's just people making their best guesses, since the delegates won't actually be chosen for a couple months. Caucuses are weird.
