Ron Paul is a proud Air Force veteran. He served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1965 and then in the U.S. Air National Guard from 1965 to 1968. During his military service Ron Paul spent time on the ground in Iran, Pakistan, South Korea, Turkey, Ethiopia and other countries.
Ron Paul is very popular with the military. He receives more donations from active duty military personnel than all other Republican candidates combined.

Ron Paul has been married to his wife Carol Wells since 1957. They have five children: Ronald, Lori, Rand, Robert, and Joy. Paul's son Rand is the junior senator from the state of Kentucky.

VA. wants to require primary voters to sign an oath pledge to participate in the VA primary. The pledge reads that you will support the elected nominee in the presidential election. If you don’t sign the pledge, they won’t let you vote in the primary.

With the threat of upcoming Defense Budget cuts in Jan. 2013, Defense Industry executives (from Boeing, Raytheon and Lockheed Martin) are reaching out to GOP candidates to sway public opinion (through fear), influence the next potential president to make promises supporting defense, and to put pressure on Obama (in the event he’s re-elected) to overturn these cuts. In reality, any cuts to Defense are recouped when fighter jets and missile systems are sold to foreign countries, i.e. Saudi Arabia.
