Thumbs up if you'll write his name in if he doesn't get the GOP nomination.

"...he needs the vote of the republican party..." That would be pandering. RP is known as being the principled candidate, so I presume that he is not pandering, but rather speaking his mind. I agree that his stand on abortion is muddled. By the way, I would vote for RP simple because of his foreign policy.

Check out the headlines from last week: "Raw milk from Pa. farm causes 35 to fall ill." Most physicians think pasteurization is a good thing.

Paul is obviously against the right of a woman to have this medical procedure. This makes women second-class citizens. Control over reproduction impacts a woman and her family tremendously. Paul is not consistent on rights issues.

and RP wouldnt happily see the states take away the rights of women. He is for the constitition. He's for the people's rights not women's rights or any other group. ALL people. If states tried to pass such stupid laws that were unconstitutional for one, its the people's job to not letthat happen and also he would not happily allow it. you clearly dont know enough about him to speak from an informed point of view. watch more of him you will like him.

and RP does have extensive genecology background delivering like 4000 babies in his career and did you know hes never taken medicare or medicade he thinks its unconstitutional. he's worked for little or nothing and paid for some of his own patients' med bill. Why don't you look into raw milk vs pasturized puss milk aka normalmilk before you make judgements on people who are more informed than yourself.

obviously you didnt read my comments before why are you arguing with me about it? I agree its not for the government to decide. I honestly believe RP is more about prochoice but he needs the vote of the republican party so he's very careful. I know morally he believes in prolife but he accepts that people need a choice and that it would be impossible to regulate that choice and so he says carefully that he is for a rape exemption. so idk why youre singling me out.

Life began 4 billion yrs ago. There is no such thing as spontaneous generation of life. But this is a complex issue: fetal development, ability to feel pain, the privacy of the woman, the ability to provide for a child, birth defects, etc. It is too complex for government to deal with ethically. Also birth control is not perfect - it will fail an average of once in a woman's lifetime even if used faithfully. Do you recall the days when abortion was illegal?

Sounds like you have it all figured out. Congratulations, you are the wisest person alive. In my mind, the idea of liberty has a lot to do with taking responsibility for your actions, including creating life. Also, there is a lot to be said about the notion that, eliminating life one minute before birth is abortion, but 1 min after is murder. So please enlighten me, when does life actually start in your mind?

If Ron Paul had an "extensive gynecology background," he wouldn't be speaking utter nonsense about "partial birth abortion," which is myth designed to outlaw 2nd trimester abortions. There is no medical procedure such as this. Paul is either off his head about this (like he is about raw milk) or he is pandering to the religious right.

Why the rape exemption? It is an acknowledgement that carrying the pregnancy through to term would be traumatic. Well, there are many other things that can make a pregnancy very difficult. It should be for the woman to decide that, not government.
