Ron Paul’s massive momentum continues! On the heels of a strong second-place finish in Minnesota earlier this week, Ron Paul just had another near-victory in Maine. The Congressman secured an amazing 36% of the vote, by far his highest percentage in the race up to now.
While Ron Paul had been a favorite to win the state, Mitt Romney’s money machine desperately scuffled for a last-minute win in an effort to paper over the Governor’s three disastrous losses in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado earlier this week. Unfortunately that strategy paid off and Mitt Romney just barely overtook Ron Paul for a 39% first place finish.
- Mitt Romney 39.2% (2,190 votes)
- Ron Paul 35.7% (1,996 votes)
- Rick Santorum 17.7% (989 votes)
- Newt Gingrich 6.2% (349 votes)

Why are only 83.7% of precincts reporting? Could the official results still change?
Washington County (pop. 32,856) postponed its caucuses due to the threat of 1-3″ of snow (which did not materialize). They will be voting next Saturday. However, Maine GOP Executive Director Michael Quatrano announced that the official results are permanent and will not be changed when the new votes come in.
Washington County GOP Chairman Chris Gardner objected, saying he had known his county’s tally wouldn’t be included in Saturday’s announcement but didn’t realize it wouldn’t be counted at all. He said he had called state party leaders and “expressed my complete and utter dismay.”
Some have called Washington County a “Ron Paul stronghold” that could have propelled Ron Paul to a Maine victory. Ron Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton suggested that the Romney campaign was involved in the cancellation of the caucus as Paul’s campaign had expected to do well: “It’s not completely insidious, but they knew we were going to swamp it up there.”
In 2008 Ron Paul got 8 out of 113 votes (7%) while Mitt Romney received 40 out of 113 votes (35%) in the county. If Romney had remained stagnant at 40 votes and Ron Paul had received an additional 227 votes (+ 8 ) in Washington County, Paul would have won Maine.

Yes, he did say “he did well today, but he did not win. he doubled what he did 4 years ago.” I would “watch more videos with him in them.”(meaning Blitzer); if Dr. Ron Paul was allowed to express himself, without the speakers cutting his time, asking rhetorical questions, or just wasting our Future Presidents precious time..

America reminds me of my girl friend whos always on the search for Mr Right. She always falls for smooth talkers, sugar daddies, wifebeating tools, deadbeats….but when the nice, honorable, noble man who loves her dearly standard before her and declares his devotion for her, she ignores him like he cease to exist. You know what I like about Ron Paul.. He’s honest and he never say’s “I”.. from the American people, his organization, etc.. he always uses “we.” which makes me feel like I can trust him. And on top of that, he speaks from the heart which takes a lot especially with all the GOP candidate pressure from the main stream media. This is what America needs.

Someone said the vote-fraud in America is as bad as in Iran, unaware that the hierarchy in America (Dem/Gop) make Iran look like paradise in comparison, a number of int’l and respected agencies did a poll in Iran weeks before the 2009-elections, essentially all predicting landslide victory for Ahmadinejad… which proved correct. This was an indicator of the propaganda and lies America is deluged by Corp-Gov and Media.
People like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich are drastically in need within American government, however more important and needed is voting absolutely all Dem/Gop “Pork/PAC/Perk/Payola” out of Congress in whatever number of elections needed. Congress is the only branch of the US-Gov voted in directly by American citizen’s, however ‘today’ we need begin finding radical individual’s totally commited to ending and reversing the total corruption we now call government.
Unfortunately it may already be to late, as my Bible ‘predicts’, it appears most in America today would rather believe a lie, and this certainly is what our government and media excel in.

I am from Switzerland,and already in 2001 I was hopping Ron Paul to be your president,next term Bush non-public elected has his second term and than Obama coming from no where promising change,but I knew it was only powder to the eyes,to try to show to the World that America has changed so drastically that even a black can be a president.In that period I already wrote few line to said that Ron Paul is the only one how can give back credibility to America.
