Ron Paul: Defend America, Not the World

by Ron Paul

The administration recently released its 2013 budget proposal, and conservatives are correctly alarmed that it calls for unprecedented spending and continued annual deficits exceeding $1 trillion. But the same conservatives complain that the budget does not devote enough funds to overseas adventurism.

I continue to be dismayed that in spite of our economic problems, most of those who call themselves fiscal conservatives refuse to consider any reductions in military spending. Doug Bandow of the Cato Institute very aptly addresses this in his recent article for the American Conservative entitled “Attack of the Pork Hawks”. He points out that conservatives are using a tired liberal argument to defend the bloated military budget: namely, that more spending equals better results. The federal education morass is merely one example that clearly disproves this.

The facts are that the President’s budget calls for an 18% increase versus the previously planned 20% increase. This is not a cut, yet Pentagon hawks continue to issue dire warnings that this “draconian” decrease in proposed future spending will seriously threaten our national security. In truth, the majority of DOD spending goes to protect other nations, including prosperous allies like Europe and Japan and South Korea – nations that could and should take more responsibility for their own defense.

Is there any amount of money that would satisfy the hawks and the neoconservatives? Even adjusted for inflation, military spending is 17% higher now than when Obama took office. Even the worst case scenarios of Obama’s “cuts”, adjusted for inflation, still put outlays at 2007 levels, which are 40% higher than a decade ago. Our total spending on overseas adventurism and nation building equals more than the next 13 highest spending countries in the world combined. Even if we were to slash our military budget in half, we would still be the world’s dominant military power, by far.

In reality, the military industrial complex that President Eisenhower warned us about has become every bit the voracious monolith he feared. It wastes as much as any other arm of government, if not more, because it knows it can depend on unlimited blank checks from a terrified Congress.

Mr. Bandow concludes that America is more secure today than at any point since before WWII, and that military outlays should be reduced accordingly. We should, Mr. Bandow argues,

“stop garrisoning the globe, subsidizing rich friends, and reconstructing poor enemies. Instead, it’s about time Washington focused on defending American and its people.”

I couldn’t agree more. Wasting money on overseas adventurism and nation building threatens our national security by massively contributing to our debt. Both welfare and warfare spending are tipping our economy into a serious currency and debt crisis. We can afford no sacred cows in our budget. One only has to look to the violence and civil unrest in Greece and ask – is that the sort of security we envision for our nation’s future?

Ron Paul will NOT get my vote.

I hear he is like the character in the storybook, “Dr. Jackll and Mr. Hyde.” He smokes meta-amph. and then he is like that Mr. Hyde character. He then does crimes and kidnapping and robbery….. and so on.

And what’s up with that taking out his full-dentures (false teeth) and not wearing them in his videos to fool people.

Attack War Mongers. Challenge Their Claims. Behead The Aggressor. Kill ZOG.

International law is not enforced. Israel’s believes it is NOT subject to any law. Nor is Israel held to agreements it has made, including the UN resolutions that formed it. Instead, Israel is claiming that that the Talmud releases them from any contract obligations, gives them title to all of the lands of Palestine, and makes it acceptable for them to murder goyem (means “non-jewish”) and/or steal their property and violate them.

Israel has embraced a policy of vicious aggression against the Palestinians and Arabs for over 50 years, instead of honoring the UN resolutions which formed Israel. Israel is, and has been, constantly causing problems and WAR MONGERING, believing this criminal practice to be in Israel’s interest.
The world is held in a feudal state, where many do not have enough to meet basic physical need because of wars caused by Israel’s vile disposition and acts.

Because of Israel’s perfidious behavior the world is impoverished.
Israel has abdicated any right to exist by its actions, and should be dismantled by the rest of the world for intentionally causing hatred, destruction and death.
The world would probably would have peace if Israel’s foul behavior was gone.

FOX aired this show: “Illegal Everything” — well worth watching!

Shows how Americans are breaking the law daily, without knowing it, because of the hundreds of millions of rules and regulations. And how cops are using this as an excuse to arrest anybody for just about anything!

‘How to Chop Down the Tree of Liberty and Succeed’: A Politician’s Handbook (Chop it at the base, and the People may revolt, but a barely noticeable branch at a time, for as long as it takes, will work for sure).

In the beginning, the Citizens had the Freedom to walk all paths. Then Government decided that some paths are not good for the people, so closed off a few paths. Now, the People had Freedom to walk a few less paths. Encouraged by this, the Government passed even more laws telling the People what other things they cannot do (because it is for their own good). Pleased with the outcome — the Citizens’ obedience — the Government went into the full-time business of Manufacturing Laws (rules, regulations).

Since Politicians produce nothing of intrinsic value — they found their calling in writing stuff on paper, telling people what not to do (“for their own good” of-course).

As of 2010, it is estimated that there are about 1/2 Billion Negative Laws/rules/regulations on the Books telling the People what they CANNOT DO upon threat of punishment (that’s more Laws than there are US Citizens)!

Headlines at end of 2011 read: 40,000 New Laws in effect for 2012. Translation — 40,000 more paths each Citizen has lost the Liberty to walk. The crude graph below is for visual effect:

      11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
      11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
      1111111111111111111111111111111111111111
      111111111111111111111111111111111111
      11111111111111111111111111111111
      1111111111111111111111111
      111111111111111
      1111111
      111
      1
      1
      1
      1

Are the Citizens this blind, not to see the end result — the eventual straight-and-narrow path Government wants to dictate its Subjects to walk….

Only Ron Paul is talking about this near complete erosion of our Freedoms — the rest are silent-partners-in-crime against our Liberty!
