yeah i never supported attacking first. never. i want australia’s or new zealand’s foreign policy.
The point is, 9/11, very similar to pearl harbour and what is currently happening right now is that American foreign policy provokes violent behaviour.Obviously it is an act of aggression in japan’s case, but sanctions provoked that and the exact same thing is being hyped up about Iran right now. Except now we promote taking action before they even attack, the “preventative war” (ie. agressive) tactics with occupying countries only leads to more conflict (ie. terrorism) and fuels needless war
i hope you still support ron paul dude.
It is flippen messed up exactly how much attention this dude is given the media treats him like he doesn’t exist and everyone who tries to plea his case for presidency is considered a looney XD Good thing i realized i was crazy years ago so yea LOONIES UNITE XD
it’s not hurting me that he voted to go after bin laden. i don’t want your sympathy. he voted against the iraq war resolution of 2002. it’s in wikipedia. and i’m not throwing red herrings. why was there a separate resolution needed to go after iraq first? why didn’t they just go in immediately? exactly, the needed the 2002 iraq war resolution first.
You’re ignoring that he voted for the bill. He gave the president absolute power. You can quote his speech and throw out all the red herrings and ad hominems you like, it won’t change the fact that he voted in favor of war. He’s a hypocrite. I know it hurts you, but it’s the truth and it is in the congressional record for everyone to see.
you’re simply delusional to call him a hypocrite. he must be a very skilled schitzophrenic then. or he must have a super-advanced stage of bipolar disorder
ron paul’s speech exceprt from the 2008 conservative political action conference: Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. There were no WMDs, no Al Qaeda there. It is the policy of intervention that I object to so strongly. One time they’re our friends, the next time they’re our enemy. Bin Laden was a freedom fighter when we gave him weapon and equipment to fight the Russians and the Soviets..
you obviously are not familiar with his voting record when he voted against the iraq war. also, would you have wanted america to sit there and do nothing when japan attacked pearl harbor? exactly. THAT is a breach of national defense and we need to retaliate.
You’re obviously not familiar with the bill. According to joint resolution S.J. Res 23 the president is authorized to use force against nations, organizations or individuals he determines were involved. Which means if the president says Iraq was involved, whether it was a lie or not, he was allowed to use force against them. Which means that when Ron Paul voted in favor of the bill, he casted a de facto vote in favor of the Iraq war and the Afghanistan war.
sigh. dude the 9/11 attacks WERE national security breach. RON PAUL DID NOT VOTE FOR THE IRAQ WAR. that’s the main thing. you never look at the picture and zero in on this small detail.
I already addressed this. He may have said that, but the fact remains that the bill didn’t specify any terrorist organization or individual. Instead it gave the president absolute power to attack anyone he determined was involved. This is neither an anti-war position, nor a small government one. He’s a hypocrite. He says one thing, but the fact that he voted for that bill says otherwise.
