  2. Are you saying that all currency is backed by a consumable commodity, that once it is consumed is gone? I understand that trading a commodity like oil for the dollar establishes the dollars worth in that market, but ultimately the dollar's value is measured in gold and silver. Gold and silver are universal currency, that is why they were chosen in the first place.
You will see this when we finally pay back our debt to China and others, they will ask for payment in gold and or silver.

  6. "ALL CURRENCIES are backed by the dollar"

LOL no.. they aren't... while many countries hold a lot of US currency in their treasury holdings - that is not as much as you think.... and they certainly aren't tied to the US dollar in any meaningful way...

currencies are tied to the economy they represent... so for example the AUD has doubled in value against the USD and (almost) EUR in the last decade because a worldwide demand for resources has created a lot of demand for AUD dollars

  7. I was not suggesting any such thing, merely providing a philosophical counterpoint, so that your words did not go unchallenged, as I found them to be ill conceived.

  10. I'm only trying to show them they are useless tools, so that they might become of some use, because; 'the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.'
ALRIGHT, maybe its a very negative comment, but I'm not compelled to remove the comment, because; I still feel the message conveyed is realistic.

  17. WiscoLIBERTY, that is not really accurate. All currencies are backed by OIL, and OPEC had only accepted Dollars to buy it, so when demand for oil goes up, so did demand for Dollars, so when the supply of oil goes down, so does the demand for Dollars go up. HOWEVER, China, India, Iran, And Saudi Arabia no longer trade for oil in Dollars, since after we put the embargo on Iran. Now our dollars is worth less, and China is no longer needing to buy our debt! And now the FED is buying our debt! How d
