  1. For all you that say I'm without compasion for the poor... consider this.

We CAN have some kind of welfare system that includes health care for the poor and especially the disabled. BUT we need to teach people that they are not going to be able to keep the benifits forever without performing some kind of service.

What is wrong with putting these folks to work in cleaning up Detroit for example? If they are unhappy with the level of pay and benifits for the type of work it will inspire them to go back to school or find work in the private sector. It encourages them to get off the entitlement bandwagon.

Anyone that can afford health insurance but just doesn't buy it is similar to driving a BMW and putting liability only on it. If they crash, the money should come out of THEIR pocket first not the tax payer. On the other hand, it should be discrimination to deny health insurance or charge different rates for females or different race and ages.

  2. The average Joe will say, “I now get free health care. What a great day!” But fails to consider that everything else will go up in price without any adjustment to our wages of course, or that higher taxes will come.

Finally, labor is still in oversupply and won’t be getting any better now that there is a health care mandate, that’s for sure.

  3. What a horrible day for America as the individual mandate has passed the court’s judgement. They have declaired it a “tax” on citizens rather then forcing me to buy something. Really in actuality, all taxes we pay are in theory supposed to be buying me something… government services like police and fire ect. So this is a real gray area anyways.

The real problem is that the government IS NOT as efficient as the free market. Be ready for long lines, long waits, and yet even higher costs in health care. Only this time the pain will be felt either though taxation OR inflation if the government decides to fund Obamacare just by printing more dollars and without balancing the budget.

  4. SUPREME COURT SAYS OBAMACARE IS CONSTITUTIONAL: Another travesty in our justice system as our supreme court finds Obamacare constitutional. The three branches of government in bed together. Now here is their justification-the congress has the right to tax so this is simply a form of taxation. So, looks like our healthcare industry and pharmaceutical industry will be reaping the benefits once again. Just makes me sick to my stomach. People should have the right to opt out. I use alternative care, not allopathic doctors unless I have to.

  6. That sounds very nice Ron but as you probably know allowing people to opt-out would render the whole thing unsustainable which is probably what you want in the first place. Citizens do not have the right to opt out of taxes simply because the money goes to fund certain things that an individual taxpayer has no use for. You either have a healthcare mandate or you don't. The ACA is constitutional therefore it is now up to Congress to decide to either repeal it or let it stand.

  7. the government should make it fair for everyone, make sure you're getting what you need to suport the country (by you i mean the government and their projects), make sure the rich pay their fair share (more than the middle class, but not too much, scale it up so it's fair for them too so they don't whine too much), make sure we have the bacis rights (including healthcare), make sure the economy stays afloat by doing what you can. all we want is to be treated fairly, survive, and progress.

    • Healthcare is not a right. It is a SERVICE performed by someone FOR YOU.

Still not convinced? Think about it this way... we all NEED a place to live. Just like we all NEED health care from time to time. But is it my RIGHT to own my home? Is it my RIGHT to stay in an apartment without paying? Nope.

Obamacare will cost you money maybe not directly, but indirectly thru higher taxes or inflation.

  8. change happens from the bottom-up, not top-down, which means you have to learn the free market arguments of the austrian school of economics to convince your family and friends that freedom works. ron never had a chance in america in this era, but many tht have been inspired are starting to run for office and that's where the real change begins

  9. Really sick of hearing Dr. Paul talk. Because the majority of the people in this country are not fucking listening. And he keeps saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again. And still numerous people in this country do not get him. Fuck America.

  10. we're trying brother. There is too much corruption in the media. I am surprised that there weren't any 'technical difficulties' during this. This government has gotten far too large and things will get very ugly before anything gets better. I love my country, but the Government is something to be feared and constantly suspicious of.

  11. He is perhaps the only elected politician in Washington who appears to talk straight in almost every case. Thank you, Dr. Paul.

  14. Kennedy's HMO Act of 1974- it's been all down hill since then, and now look at the medical debacle we have. So socializing medicine is not the answer. Let it go back to the free market because government destroys everything it gets its greedy hands on.

  15. The government desperately needs out of this mess. Using the most short sited self serving individuals to follow is one of the stupidest things a nation can do. Death is coming to the worthless American Dollar and the cards shall then follow suit from this. Intelligence may be some part of the government but it is not the kind of intelligence needed.
