by Ron Paul
The attack on the US consulate in Libya and the killing of the US Ambassador and several aides is another tragic example of how our interventionist foreign policy undermines our national security. The more the US tries to control the rest of the world, either by democracy promotion, aid to foreign governments, or by bombs, the more events spin out of control into chaos, unintended consequences, and blowback.
Unfortunately, what we saw in Libya last week is nothing new.
In 1980s Afghanistan, the US supported Islamic radicals in their efforts to expel the invading Soviet military. These radicals became what is known to be al-Qaeda, and our one-times allies turned on us most spectacularly on September 11, 2001.
Iraq did not have a significant al-Qaeda presence before the 2003 US invasion, but our occupation of that country and attempt to remake it in our image caused a massive reaction that opened the door to al-Qaeda, leading to thousands of US soldiers dead, a country destroyed, and instability that shows no sign of diminishing.
In Libya we worked with, among others, the rebel Libyan Fighting Group (LIFG) which included foreign elements of al-Qaeda. It has been pointed out that the al-Qaeda affiliated radicals we fought in Iraq were some of the same groups we worked with to overthrow Gaddafi in Libya. Last year in a television interview I predicted that the result of NATO’s bombing of Libya would likely be an increased al-Qaeda presence in the country. I said at the time that we may be delivering al-Qaeda another prize.
Not long after NATO overthrew Gaddafi, the al-Qaeda flag was flown over the courthouse in Benghazi. Should we be surprised, then, that less than a year later there would be an attack on our consulate in Benghazi? We have been told for at least the past eleven years that these people are the enemy who seeks to do us harm.
There is danger in the belief we can remake the world by bribing some countries and bombing others. But that is precisely what the interventionists – be they liberal or conservative – seem to believe. When the world does not conform to their image, they seem genuinely shocked. The secretary of state’s reaction to the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi was one of confusion. “How could this happen in a country we helped liberate, in a city we helped save from destruction,” she asked.
The problem is that we do not know and we cannot know enough about these societies we are seeking to remake. We never try to see through the eyes of those we seek to liberate. Libya is in utter chaos, the infrastructure has been bombed to rubble, the economy has ceased to exist, gangs and militias rule by brutal force, the government is seen as a completely illegitimate and powerless US puppet. How could anyone be shocked that the Libyans do not see our bombing their country as saving it from destruction?
Currently, the US is actively supporting rebels in Syria that even our CIA tells us are affiliated with al-Qaeda. Many of these radical Islamist fighters in Syria were not long ago fighting in Libya. We must learn from these mistakes and immediately cease all support for the Syrian rebels, lest history once again repeat itself. We are literally backing the same people in Syria that we are fighting in Afghanistan and that have just killed our ambassador in Libya! We must finally abandon the interventionist impulse before it is too late.

The way I see it 2.5million people voted for Ron Paul in the nomination and thats not even factoring the blatant voter fraud and censorship. If just 10%, 250,000, protested the Federal Reserve and Capitol Hill peacefully it would be enough to change the coarse of American History. There will be only three demands.
1. The Audit of the Federal Reserve/Arrest of corrupto politicians, bankers, and corporations.
2. A new transparent government by and for the people.
3. End of status quote.

You’re an idiot.
“I support the right of Israel to exist as a sovereign country and believe that the United States should protect that right militarily if needed” ~ Gary Johnson
That sounds like a prescription for being led into war by the Zionists — of whom Johnson is obviously one.

I know, me too. SO,… Dr.Paul has not endorsed anyone so who is he going to vote for? Doesn’t he know he has a lot of influence on the election? Why did he campaign so much & now nothing? What is going on with him? Was this “the plan?” What is the plan, BTW? Just wondering.

By the time the Americans do wake up and are ready to accept a man like Ron Paul into the white house, unfortunately it will be too late, and the world will plunge into darkness.

Unless that has changed as of last year. Kentucky does have instead a physical write in it was typed in… that is still recognized as a “write in” or “Other” as marked on a ballot. & yes I have checked on it to ensure they have in a write in for candidates with a friend who lives in Kentucky. Now are you calling a Kentucky resident a liar?

French Canadian,
I really do appreciate your passion and that you feel Alex Jones is your man, but at the same time, not everyone feels the same way. It’s always important to question, and I’m thankful we still can no matter who it is. I don’t believe anyone is above scrutiny. My husband takes out of his programs what he needs to just as you do. I won’t bring anything up because I know it upsets you. Just because I bring up Israel right now does not mean I’m anti=Semitic. I happen to believe if Americans knew that Israel was involved in 9/11, that this would be the event that would wake them up, so therefore why it has to be discussed. The same is true with our hand in that event and continued cover-up. Of course, I know that our government/intelligence community is involved and I talk about that as well, but right now people have a rosy notion of the prime minister of Israel-they trust him and he is trigger happy. It’s not a black and white issue just as the Palestinian issue is not as well and the history of that area. The Israeli prime minister will create the next Holocaust not only for Israelis, but for the entire world. Too many people I know think he cares so much about America and our future, so as allies we have to go along with whatever he wants. I’m thankful that many top brass in our military and in the Israeli government and intelligence community feel the same way that we have to stop this madness. This leader is irrational and aggressive. Just like if you disagree with Obama it does not mean you are a racist. I disagree with policies and unethical and immoral actions and right now I am focusing on what Obama is doing and Israel=the two key players right now for the future of the world.(starting WW111) Peace….

Robin,
Thanks for your response. I see what you mean. But what you don’t know (because you don’t listen to the show) is that Alex is not afraid of pointing out Israel wrongdoing when it is proven to be a fact. The only difference between him and others, is that he will never point out in a direction before it is solid proof facts. And this is his greatest quality. No speculation, just facts is his moto.
Watch this 5 minutes video, it will confirm you that what I am saying is right. See him blaming Israel with not a shadow of a doubt, only with facts and solid proofs. This is how he always works. Plain truth! And this is why he has so much credibility. .. and for the same reason, this is why he his always attack because he is a serious threat to the Establishment. If people would only listen to his daily show, they would have long known that Israel is no friend of USA. Please listen to that video and see for YOURSELF how Alex Jones works. I need you to listen to it so you can understand why I defend him so vigourously, and why he is such a huge asset to wake-up Americans before it is too late.
USS Liberty EXPOSED (5 minutes)

Now, I understand that you prefer Ben Swann. I like him too, he does a real good job, he is as genuine as Alex. And this is why Alex likes him so much. Alex is not envious or jealous about people like him that are having big success… on the contrary, he wishes there would be more people like Ben Swann to tell the truth, he needs reinforcement in truth telling. Alex always post Ben Swann show on his site. Today Alex took the day off to go fishing with his son, so the the show is an “encore” presentation… and guess what? The full interview he did with Ben Swann is on today’s show.
The only problem I have with Ben Swann is that he does a 5 minutes show three times a week, which in total makes 15 minutes a week. Alex makes a 3 hours show 5 days a week, 2 hours on Sunday plus the Nightly show, for a total of 24 hours a week. So 15 minutes a week for such a nation of ignorant citizens is not enough to make an impact.
The 3 hours Alex Jones Show, wakes up people in less than a week… this is what your country needs since time is not on your side.
His show is very well done, it is very informative and entertaining. Because of his Planetprison t.v., he can show people the official documents and many videos for facts and solid proofs. Plus, he has great guests who are top experts on different subjects, so you learn a lot. And let’s not forget that it is also a TALK show, callers brings lot of information also.
No one works harder than Alex Jones. He never takes vacation… only sometimes a day off, but not often. He also has two major websites and blogsites, who carries the most important articles of the day taken around the world.
Alex is only sponsered by his supporters, he gets no money from big coorporations… his advertizing (sponsers) are carefully chosen for the quality of their products, he only sells what he beleives in and uses for himself. I bought a lot of stuff from his store and i am very satisfied with everyting I bought. He refuses thousands sponsers a week, everyone want’s to advertize on his show, but he turns them down. He is a SELFMADE man and he answers to no one.
Of course he gets daily threats, but that doesn’t bother him. Like I said, his only fear is that they will shut up his show. This is why he is very careful not to say anything that is not solid proof. He cannot spend all his time in court defending himself.
Now, with time, he has build a solid crew, new reporters that are doing a very good job. His radio show broadcasted worlwide, is the biggest in the world and every week he gains 10 to 20 new radio stations in USA.
Concerning 9/11, he is like all of us, he knows for undeniable facts that the official story is a complete lie. In fact, the Truther movement sarted on Infowars. But like all of us, we don’t really know who is behind all this… we can speculate all we want, but we have no SOLID proofs so far who really did it. This is why Alex is cautious, and he is right to be, he cannot afford to lose his show about this in spreading propaganda. Till we have solid facts, Alex will not blame a particular group… all he can do and say is that the official story is a complete lie. I know he thinks Israel is behind all this, but he cannot say it before he gets solid proofs.
And don’t worry, Alex works for no one. Alex work for you, me, himself, his children and for liberty, rights, freedom and peace for all.

I missed nothing. You thought you could gloss over not having any valid data. And now I know you are just making stuff up. Kentucky does not have write-in ballots at the punch card election machinery that the vast majority of us use to vote. To vote for a candidate that did not qualify for being on the Kentucky ballot one MUST vote absentee. Voting absentee has risks associated with it apart from voluntarily disassociating oneself from the rest of civil society.

I guess I should have mention all of the states… Or did you just miss that part of the statement? Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington State. Montana, Wyoming… Now I could keep going on states that have “Other” on their Ballots but seeing how you think would be a waste of time.

4 out of 50. Am I supposed to be impressed by that?
Yeah, regardless of the President’s misinformed view, there are only 50 States.
Touch Screen ballots and punch card ballots, which comprise over 80% of all vote tally machines, do not have a slot for names that did not qualify for candidate status on ballots in any State.
Face facts, your claims of writing in a candidate is nothing more than whiny and childish misunderstanding of the election process.
