It is hard to let it go when someone gets away with being so boldly impertinent to other peoples’ rights.

But the only way to achieve that is by forcing people to pay.
people with no money cannot pay.
people who are broke, without jobs, cannot pay.

people in that situation, will just be driven into crime or further poverty hurting ordinary citizens.
Trying to drive the money in from those people, will just cost even more. And results won’t appear.

So, you have a choice: Universal healthcare, or letting people die. Thats it if you want to save money.

I am not defending our current healthcare system. I’d support a voluntary capitalist system where no one get’s robbed.

I’m not sure if sillynanny is trolling or is being genuine. I am sure that you’ll never get through to this person.
S/He is an extreme religious social conservative. This carries over to economic Republicanism (not fiscal conservatism).
If you want to hash out ideas, someone who is utterly antagonistic to logic will not help you. This person solely wants to win the argument. S/He don’t understand the connection between their beliefs and social harm.
You’re right. They’re wrong. Just let it go.

Well, there are some things that the goverment does better, but he (Louis Dwyer) seems to be arguing from a danish perspective which, unfortunately, won’t work. The danish system might work on a state level however.

What I would say though on healthcare is this: your paying anyway. Doctors working in emergency rooms are not free, paying it over that emergency room bill is more expensive than healthcare by far. The only cheaper alternative is to simply let the sick die.

    Want that instead?

Even the Canadians have a superior healthcare system. They have two streams of healthcare, and it works in a way that everyone is treated. There is no reason why achieving a successful healthcare system in America should be so difficult, it really is not as hard as it sounds.

if you got sticked man to your body, and removing him would kill him, but you know he would go off after 9 months, should you have right to kill him? IMO no, but however fetus is not a men, but a weird unconsious glue at the beginning, so… I don’t know

The danish system, while really good, would not work in the US due to a highly different tax collection, governing system and many more reasons. And the US citizens are far more sceptical about a universal health care system than danes are. Had common danish solutions been suggested on the senate floor in the US then you’d see someone being booed out as being a communist. Even though its very far from the truth.

actually he was religious and he didnt want atheists lie about his beliefs. haha. oh im not violating anyone’s rights at all. you’re the one advocating violence. if you’re against having a voluntary system providing healthcare then yes you are stealing from people. even if it means taking from other people to give to the sick. why dont you use your own money? what a hypocrite. im glad we had this conversation though :)

Like most of his followers, I don’t agree with everything Ron Paul believes. However, he will be sorely missed. He provided a much needed reality check to Congress along with all those Super PAC checks.
I sincerely hope another politician (or 2 or 3 or 535) can come along who will provide that reality check.

Is destroying a fig tree seed, destroying the tree that “could of been”? Sure, however Destroying something that “could have been” is not the same thing as destroying something that actually exists. A fetus with a heartbeat is a functional human being that “IS”, not something that “Could Be”. Preventing something that “could be” is not murder. I disagree with you on the point at which “sentient” life truly begins and it does not begin when you are not capable of producing a brain wave.

Einstein wasn’t religious, in fact he thought religion was detrimental. I am concerned about people’s religion only when it infringes on other peoples rights, as you so clearly advocated above.
I’m not asking other people to pay for my healthcare, I never said anything like that. I’m advocating for responsible healthcare, like that of Denmark where sick people are treated. So I don’t know what liberty means because you say so? We clearly have different definitions, I’m sorry to say you are wrong

If only he ran with the Libertarians instead of with the Republicans. Gary Johnson didn’t do poorly in the election. Depending upon what happens in 2016, we may see a surge in the Libertarian Party in 2020 or 2024.

    Define “man-made” and “capitalism.”

There is a distinction between parts of society made by individuals through free and mutually-beneficial exchange and parts of society made through force of some individuals upon others. The former parts change and evolve as a result of many people fulfilling the values of others because they are free to change. The latter, because they are codified, only change at the arbitrary whim of those who have the power to change them. The latter enables thievery.
