He’s just promoting an alternative to government education; he isn’t saying you’re a bad parent if you don’t homeschool your kid. Jesus….

Home school and cyber school parents…let’s band together and help other families home school their children. Go to http://nationalcyberschoolnetwork.com and join a forum so that we can put together a plan to get America’s children out of the public school system!

I have never “followed” Ron Paul. But I guess I should have. I have homeschooled/private Christian schooled for three decades. You are crazy if you don’t. It really is easier than packing them off to “big box” indoctrination centers.

I support homeschooling and private school, public schools not so much.

    Well, what sounds worse?
1.) Sending your child to a public school where
    a.) they receive statist indoctrination
b.) they learn how to sit down and shut up
    c.) get bullied
    d.) feel neglected, etc.
2.) Downgrade to a smaller house where you get to enjoy a happier family

The only way to fix the problems in the world is to raise virtuous, intelligent and happy children in a safe and nurturing environment

I have to disagree with curldivgrad, but I do admit there are challenges… my wife and I made most of our financial decisions based on one of us loosing our jobs and now have more than enough income by living with slightly less comforts (such as no cable TV) and soon we will be building a new home for less than what many people spend on a new car. It will be paid off in 5 years, leaving both of us in semi-retirement by the time our child would be starting school. Together, we bring in $35K/yr.

Putin checkmated Obama (and his barking-only dog Kerry)! WOW!!! That was such a simple finesse that any decent Chess Player would have foreseen — but, obviously not the mental defects that are Obama and Kerry.
    ——————————————————————————————–

How did these two clowns (Obama and Kerry) embarrass our nation, making us the laughing stock of the world? Here is the chronological order of their stupidities:

Obama draws a “red line” if Chem weapons are used — and states USA will bomb Syria to stop this.

Chem weapons are used — Obama declares (without positive proof that it was Assad, and not the terrorists themselves), along with British Prime Minister Cameron’s acceding, that the World’s Opinion must be respected and the USA will start bombing Syria along with the “International Community”….

Cameron is ready to bomb along with Obama, but then British Parliament says NO!

Now Obama is IN SHOCK, and on his own — he still pushes for bombing Syria — but is afraid to do it on his own volition (for the obvious political backlash)! So, NOW Obama (who had previously declared that he does not need Congressional approval to start a ‘limited’ War) NOW BACKPEDALS AND asks Congress to approve his war desires, and sends Kerry to Europe to muster some support for his Bombing Syria right away!

Kerry arrives and makes a fool of himself in France — when asked: “What would stop the US from bombing Syria” he answers: “Assad must turn over all his Chem Weapons”.

The Russians pounce on it immediately and state they will assure this!

Then, poor idiot Kerry says it was a “rhetorical answer” and not one he, and Obama, were willing to accept.

Too late — Obama’s rep, Kerry-the-idiot, opened his mouth and played right into Putin’s hands.

Now, Putin (the swine) won and Kerry and Obama look like the village idiots that they are!

Obama, and his toothless barking dog Kerry, have achieved what no other Administration since Jimmy Carter has done — make US look weak and STUPID!

    p.s. forgot to add —

Impeach Obama, and put Kerry next to Lil’ Hussein’s prison cell…so the two can play the simple game of Chinese Checkers… with each other…..

    Dear Mr. Paul,
I enjoy perusing your ideas, especially those like home schooling, because they make my dementia seem mild by comparison.

How does school teach social skills? Putting a kid in school to learn social skills is the same as throwing a kid in the pool to learn how to swim , a lot will instinctively begin to swim but others will drown and die.

School can actually have the inverse effect it’s throwing the lamb in with the wolves for socially awkward kids and leads to them being bullied and picked on.

The kid will stil, play outside and in the park, with siblings, cousins, and neighbors; as well as boyscouts& sports.

Really? Your picture points to a few “wrong choices” of your own. Who are you to decide what is best for others? Thought being a libertarian was about free choice? Why are you not willing to extend that choice to others?

Both must work if you choose to live “up” to world standards, the choice is yours. Rural property and used cars are 2 of the choices you can make to cut back on expenses that homeschooling is possible. The choice is yours.

If one parent was home, not driving, not spending money on school related activities, fuel to work, parking, lunches out, dry cleaning etc… add it up. Then if when home all day w/kids the family also had a garden to tend to and LEARN from, then save on food costs, fuel to store and more healthy! Wash in washer but take time to hang up together, clean together etc… good values, skills and LOVE!!! WE CANNOT AFFORD NOT TO DO IT!!! COULD SAVE THE USA!!!

So many idiotic morons who believe “home schooling” is the correct method to teach your kids social and world skills. This is why I hate being a Libertarian…too many delusional people in the party and that’s why people think we’re crazy. Be realistic and consider…you’re not a “good teacher” for today’s youth.

Off topic — but, this is just too ludicrous to pass….

How nutty has DHS (Department of Homeland Security) gone, to try and “secure” our own Citizens…?!

first, both implies two. you mentioned three categories.
second, parents are innately teachers. character we develop are primarily derived from that which we are surrounded by. i.e. our family.
third, the modern world doesn’t necessarily require both mom and dad, as many single parents will be able to tell you.
fourth, when theres a will theres a way. its about planning and execution. Ron Paul cant tell you how to live your life, but he can certainly give you the tools to help make it better.

Ron Paul understands very well the reasons why it’s hard to survive in this economy. We have become debt slaves to bankers which are destroying the purchasing power of our money. You need to home school your kids, work out a way to do it, get into an association and you will find it’s not as hard as you think. There is always a way.

My wife takes care of 100% of our home schooling. We have 3 kids, 12, 5, and 3. She works 40+ Hr’s a week. I myself am retired, and don’t work. So I stay at the house and watch the kids. We don’t have grandparents that help any, and we don’t let anyone babysit. Just do it, it will all fall into place, and you will love yourself more for giving your child a better chance at the shit hole world we live in. Good Luck, its not as hard as you think!

Kudos to Ron Paul — a true American!

Let’s hope his son becomes president — so we can put a stop to the below!
    ————————————————————————————-

It is obvious to all, that have a functioning brain, that NO Islamic nation is a direct military threat to our homeland (being five thousand miles way from US). However, they are a definite and DIRECT threat to Israel, so such Islamic countries need to be dis-stabilized in order to protect Israel (and only Israel) — none are a military threat to even European nations (which are much closer).

Are terrorists a threat — sure, but why would a few dozen muslim extremists that may come over here and cause negligible harm (compared to an all out war) on our homeland, BECOME the guiding force of our ENTIRE Foreign Policy? That is simply CRIMINAL Behavior by the Ones that have been elected in Office — to change our American Way of Life because of a few nuts.
    ———————————————————————————————-

The logical conclusion is that when Israel whistles, the US starts bombing.

I’m afraid that Israel’s call to arms has not been heeded by the US presidency right away — but soon they’ll whistle louder, and more American lives will be lost to protect that foreign nation!
