The response overwhelmed me: more Americans believe in liberty and the Constitution than I ever imagined. I am deeply moved and honored by your hard work and sacrifice on behalf of our cause.

However, after much serious thought, I have decided to end my campaign for the Presidency of the United States. It is time now to take the energy this campaign has awakened and channel it into long-term efforts to take back our country. We have some exciting plans and projects to move the revolution forward that will come together in the next several months. Watch for them.

I will work until my last breath on behalf of this great message. That I promise you. /> I’m happy about it and excited about the future of the MN Republican Party.

Here is how I got there:

We had no venue for Ron Paul to speak since the MN GOP wouldn’t allow him to speak at the convention and everyone was concerned because the forecast was rain for when Ron Paul was scheduled to speak at 7:30am. In the morning just before he spoke, the rain stopped, the clouds parted, the sun came out, the temperature was perfect, the birds started chirping loudly, and it was an absolutely beautiful brisk Minnesota morning outside when he spoke.

There were about 400 to 500 people outside at 7:30am listening to him speaking and probably 90% of them were to be in the convention when it started. The 45 minute speech was excellent. It was a perfect outcome in my opinion considering they GOP did not let Ron Paul speak inside the convention, which totally worked out to our benefit in the end. Another venue had been booked for Ron Paul nearby by campaign staff the evening before but the venue backed out. It is rumored that the GOP pulled some strings and pressured the venue owner to back out of the deal. Only a few people know the truth about that…

Once we got inside the convention at about 8:30, there were already signs hung all over the place and literature distributed on every floor chair. Two of these pieces of papers were horrendous hit pieces against Ron Paul saying things such as he wants to legalize cocaine, heroine, and prostitution. They were completely filled with text saying half-truths, straight up lies, and quotations that were way out of context.

There are apparently convention rules about distributing literature and there has to be the name of the person or group that is distributing it printed on it because someone objected and called out the specific section in the rules. The literature needed to be somewhat pre-approved and early entry had to be arranged with convention coordinators. The rules state something along the line that unauthorized literature that broke these rules is to be confiscated from the floor, discarded and the person(s) that is responsible for it is to be removed from the convention.

People were getting very angry, kept objecting and were trying to get the convention to follow the rules and have the sergeant-at-arms remove the literature and remove the people responsible. They dragged their feet forever and picked up probably 60% of the literature. Mysteriously, nobody knew who distributed the literature. These were fluorescent yellow and orange pieces of paper, by far the most visible of all the literature. Let me see, a person(s) literally had 20+ lbs of paper and distributed it to 1000+ chairs…. but yeah, it was Professor Plum in the library with the candlestick, and he couldn’t be found to be removed.

All the literature except the hit pieces on Ron Paul were national delegate candidate’s or slate literature. Of course, the majority of these people who were distributing the candidate literature had no idea that they were not even going to have an opportunity to be voted for since the establishment had stealthily changed the rules to “no nominations from the floor”. These people spent a lot of money and time to be tricked by the party and not all of these were Ron Paul supporters. There were a lot of very angry people who were being vocal about it.

The convention had many rules about signage. The establishment’s slate had (2) humongous fabric banners at each end of the stage, and many other signs that exceeded the size and quantity parameters violating the convention signage rules. The large banners were hung the day before the convention in violation of the rules also. Many people made objections and tried to get them removed as stated in the rules but nothing became of it.

The nominating committee had rules that the candidates for national delegates and alternates had to appear before them prior to convention and fill out forms and pass all their subjective tests that are impossible to prove such as being “honest person” or a “good” republican. Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Sen. Norm Coleman did not appear before the nominating committee as stated in the requirements to be considered which by the rules makes them ineligible to be considered for national delegate or alternate. But hey, who wants to follow the rules if they do not work in your favor? I expected no less, truly.

One person got on the microphone and stated that who ever came up with the establishment slate’s huge banners and must have been psychic because it almost completely matched the nominating committee’s final results and wanted an explanation of that having a high probability. The place roared. A majority of the crowd (the sheeple) did not understand the irony of them cheering for this, but yet they cheered like fools due to group-think. The leadership looked like fools.

During this convention, people who were not involved with Ron Paul were becoming disgusted by the leadership’s behavior and booed them several times. Even opponents of Ron Paul were apologetic to the Ron Paul supporters because the treatment we received. I heard this over and over and over walking the corridors and I had over 20 apologies from persons that you could more then likely call neo-cons through the course of the weekend.

I was seeing conversion after conversion and awakening after awakening. It was a beautiful thing. The party lost a lot of respect from a lot of people who were not Ron Paul supporters. Ron Paul and Ron Paul supporters gained much respect and many members during the convention. They just made taking the Minnesota Republican Party over 10 times easier because we now have a lot of old-timer’s backing as many of them truly seemed to admire what we did.

We conducted ourselves in an excellent manner, followed all the rules, made valid thought provoking points, and showed the convention attendees that there is not ANY unity in the MN Republican Party at the moment and it is because the leadership is inept and is not interested in growing the MN Republican Party.

That was THE best possible outcome at this point in the presidential election for the state of Minnesota, if you live in reality. You really think they are going to let him speak at the national convention when they won’t even let him on to a floor of a state convention? Let’s be real here, we just cured our foundation here. It’s time to build now, and we plan on building with bricks for the long term.

The beautiful thing about all of this is that we probably just got 1.5 times stronger here in MN and definitely got some major financial backing for our upcoming Ron Paul Republicans! Not to mention the existing network just got hardened. Also, everyone knew that the Ron Paul hotel parties were the parties to be at, and they came. They were neo-con conversion clinics and they stayed hard at work until the wee hours of the night churning out new supporters.

Big thanks to the MN GOP for helping us grow considerably during the convention. I had old timers walking up to me giving me contact information for donations for our Ron Paul Republican candidates. Enjoy your positions today MN GOP, for you will not have them next time around.

If they could figure out that this is not about Ron Paul…

Thanks to Ron Paul Revolution’s growing success continues to haunt Republican party officials who support amnesty for illegal aliens and Al Gore’s global warming propaganda by pressing on with their efforts to make John McCain this year’s Republican nominee.

In Minnesota, John McCain got only 22% of the vote in the state’s caucuses on February 5, compared with Ron Paul’s 16%. The Minnesota party establishment is concerned enough to send out an unsigned letter to GOP members, signed only as “Friends of the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team”.

In a chilling attack on free speech and open discussion among Republicans, the missive exhorts GOP members to attend the State Convention this Friday and assist the party establishment in stifling the growing number of dissenting voices:

Dear Republican friend,

Conservatives must unite if Barack Obama is to be defeated in November. As conservative leaders in this state and in our party, we have come together to seek your support for the positions of National Delegate, Alternate, and Presidential Elector.

As members of the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team, we began this campaign season supporting a wide array of candidates for President. The primary and caucus season was hard fought, but fair. Through the rigorous nomination process, John McCain has emerged victorious as the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party. As members of the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team, we are pledging our support to John McCain should you elect us to the positions we seek at the upcoming Republican State Convention.

Unfortunately, the supporters of Ron Paul still refuse to unite our party behind our presumptive nominee. At our Congressional District conventions, the Paul supporters ran slates of candidates seeking to thwart the will of the majority of those who have already united behind John McCain. Paul supporters are promising to do the same at our State Convention by fielding a slate of candidates who continue to refuse to accept the outcome of the primary season.

You can help launch our party to victory in November in a few important ways. First, please attend the Republican State Convention in Rochester. The convention will come to oder at 9 AM on Friday, May 30. Please be registered and in your chair by 9 AM. Virtually every Paul supporter in the state will be in Rochester. Let’s not let the will of the vast majority be overcome by a tiny, organized and motivated minority.

Second, support the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team with your vote. Whatever success Paul supporters have had in Minnesota conventions has largely been the result of the failure of mainstream conservative Republicans to unite behind a qualified team of party leaders. A fragmented votes opens the door for the organized minority to have much more voice and control than their numbers justify. Unite behind the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team.

Finally, reject efforts of the Paul minority to disrupt and manipulate our convention with challenges to the convention rules and procedures. Cries for “fairness” by the Paul group are simply desperate tactics by a minority who simply don’t have the votes and wish to overcome the will of the majority. Manufactured confusion and delay has been the standard for Paul supporters at other State GOP conventions. Support the Committee Reports that will be presented and don’t open the door for Paul manipulation.

History has taught us that Republicans need to stand united if we are to win in November. The civil war that is ripping the Democrats apart does not need to occur within our party; we have our nominee, John McCain.

Sincerely,
Friends of the Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team

Paid for by Minnesota Conservative Delegate Team, 4521 Belvidere Lane, Edina, MN 55435. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.

Just like its counterpart in Hawaii, the Minnesota GOP is looking for “sheep to hand in the ballots they want” and who will unite behind their “leader” even if they completely reject his elitist values and plans for America’s future.

Here’s what one outraged GOP member responded:

I do not, cannot, will not, understand the argument that because people in OTHER STATES chose McCain in THEIR primaries, that somehow that defines the will of Minnesota Republicans. It certainly doesn’t represent the people I talked to on Super Tuesday. Why I should support people who try to bully ME so that they can bully everyone in our state from St. Paul is beyond me.

The Ron Paul Presidential Campaign issued the following press release, announcing that Ron Paul would be speaking adjacent to the convention:

Minneapolis, Minnesota – Presidential candidate and Congressman Dr. Ron Paul will speak to his supporters, and other delegates and alternates to the Minnesota Republican State Convention, Friday morning, May 30, at 7:30 AM at the Mayo Memorial Park, 30 Civic Center Drive, Rochester MN. The park features an amphitheater setting adjacent to the rear of the Mayo Civic Center where the convention is to be held.

After repeated requests for an invitation, the Republican Party of Minnesota’s Chairman, Ron Carey, issued a letter to Marianne Stebbins, Minnesota Campaign Coordinator for Ron Paul 2008 PCC, denying Ron Paul a speaking opportunity at the convention. (Letter attached.)

“I put in five calls to the MN GOP over the past several weeks, requesting a simple yes or no on letting Dr. Paul speak, with no response,” said Stebbins, “and only received the written denial following a demand for response via certified mail. So the Ron Paul campaign extends our invitation to all GOP state delegates and alternates to hear for themselves why this remarkable man has created such a stir in this presidential election.”

When the gavel drops in the Civic Center at 9:00 AM, Stebbins anticipates the convention Rules Report will favor the MN GOP Chairman’s picks for national delegate, allowing only “qualified” candidates to appear on the ballot, to be named later by the Nominating Committee, while not defining such qualifications. Paul’s supporters will appeal to the delegates of the convention to amend the rules in the interests of fairness and openness to allow for all who filed their intent to run with the MN GOP to appear on the ballot.

“Other challenges to the rules may be brought in an orderly fashion,” said Stebbins, “by no means as an attempt to disrupt the convention, but strictly to favor an open, democratic process to allow for the delegation to make decisions about whom it wishes support, as opposed to an orchestrated election of unopposed, backroom candidates.”

MN GOP Chairman, Ron Carey, last week sent an email to party officers urging them to turn out their McCain delegates, forwarding an email message from the Ron Paul campaign as an additional motivator. Contrary to Carey’s claims, the vast majority of caucus attendees voted against McCain.

Marianne Stebbins, Minnesota Campaign Coordinator for Ron Paul 2008 PCC stated, “Ron Carey is misusing his office of Chairman to encourage turnout only of delegates for one candidate. The Republican Party Bylaws clearly forbid this activity. If Mr. Carey wishes to actively campaign for one candidate and for his slate of candidates for national delegate, he should relinquish the Chair to someone who can more impartially handle the duties of the office.”

Dr. Ron Paul, tenth-term Congressman from Texas, is one of two candidates remaining in the Republican race for President, and has earned seven national delegates so far out of Minnesota. With his new book, The Revolution: A Manifesto, now in its third week on the New York Times Bestseller List, he remains in the race to offer conservatives an option in the primaries, and to spread the message of Liberty, Peace and Prosperity.

Minnesota Republican State Convention<br
