Illegal Immigration

Illegal immigrants are a convenient scapegoat for our economic crisis. But with free markets and private property, the need for immigrant labor becomes obvious. Most immigrants, regardless of the color of their skin, are open to the ideals of liberty: private property, free markets, sound money, right to life, low taxes, less war, protection of civil liberties, and a foreign policy designed for peace.

Ron Paul proposed the following action steps for dealing with illegal immigration:

  1. Abolish the welfare state. The incentive to take a job at whatever wage available must prevail.
  2. Establish a generous visitor work program. Once we solve the economic crisis by introducing sound money, demand for domestic and immigrant labor will rise.
  3. Enforce the laws on the books with more border guards. Allow states and landowners to enforce the law and provide security assistance.
  4. Abolish birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants. [Current U.S. citizens will not be affected. Instead, babies born to illegals after a future cutoff date will no longer gain automatic U.S. citizenship. They will still have citizenship in their parents’ home countries.]
  5. End all federal mandates on the states to provide free education and medical care for illegal immigrants.

Finally, a presidential candidate who cares for American citizens. Proposing and giving amnesty to some 20 million interlopers is beyond all reasoning. The basic relationship between a government and its citizens in a free society is that the government provides security to its citizens in exchange for their loyalty.. Seems a simple and straightforward arrangement to me, but most democrats and some republicans don’t seem to understand that Illegal immigration is a clear threat to the well being of Americans and, therefore, are not honoring their part of the government/citizen relationship.

It’s time to replace government corruption with integrity.

Yes, I enjoyed that series, also. However, the John Locke to whom I refer was the man that gave us our philosophy of government which is contained in The Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitution. Check out http://oregonstate.edu/instruct/phl302/texts/locke/locke2/locke2nd-a.html

It’s a bit difficult to read as it was written before its publication in 1695, but well worth it. If Thomas Jefferson had had a computer and there had been an internet, he would have cut and paste from Locke’s treatise into The Declaration of Independence. The same holds true for our constitution. @seejaymouser

But isn’t there a direct correlation between the “War on Drugs” and immigration?

What war on drugs? Lots of money spent in inappropriate ways does not a war make. You can’t eliminate addicitve personalities with legislation or money. We should have learned our lesson during Prohibition. Legalize, tax, license. It won’t eliminate drug issues, but it should get the criminal element out of the picture. Why have we not done this? Follow the money.

In a sense we don’t have to get rid of all of them, once we stop subsidizing it, most will leave anyway. The ones that are left could be deported for a decade or so then they will be allowed to apply legally. It will also help if we stop the war on drugs, as the violence in Mexico would slow down, and drug dealers would stop coming here illegally.

The idea of “getting rid of all of them” is wrong-headed. I cared for a woman in her 40s brought here by her parents as an infant, and given a SS# by her mother’s employer. She did not know she was illegal, could not speak Spanish, had 4 children doing great in school, and worked and paid taxes to the benefit of whomever actually owned that SS#.So, when she developed a fast growing cancer, I could not get care for her in the US. She was treated in a Mexican hospital thanks to the kindness of my nurses aunt who lived in Mexico. Should she have been deported after a lifetime of paying taxes, from which she can now never benefit, and being a good citizen? I don’t think so.

great idea ronny sure lets get rid of all illegals . take a long look back in history. we are all here illegalythe europians took no thats stoled this country from the true native americans. so go back to europe hipocrit.

@maglie What does that have to do with anything. Stop feeling bad about what someone did hundreds of years ago and address the current issue. Currently this country is struggling to survive and millions of people not paying taxes isn’t helping thats a fact of life. Maybe you don’t care but many people have children here and want to pass on a prosperous country to their offspring.

Ron Paul is completely right, if we keep on subsidizing illegal immigration the madness will never stop. However I like how he wants to make it easier to get in legally. His plan in a sense lets the free market decide how many immigrants there should be. No subsidizing +no banning (legal immigration) = Free market!

While there is no doubt Dr. Paul will get my vote, I personally would like to hear him say one of two things with regard to illegal immigration:

1-We adopt or draft Mexico’s immigration laws (look it up) as a basis for our own national interest, or:

2-Following a grace period of up to six months, state and local governments will be asked to assist federal agents in the round up and deportation of all immigrants whose status is questionable, including the emptying of all prisons and jails.

Moreover, the federal government would then seek reparations from these immigrants home countries–by any means necessary– for the costs incurred during their stay, their welfare, benefits, medical attention, schooling and upkeep.

Thank you for reminding me that Mexico has their own standards as regards immigration:

      1. Evidence that applicant has lived in Mexico LEGALLY and continuously with a FM-3 or a FM-2 for at least five years. The applicant may not be out of the Country for more than 180 days in the 24 months immediately prior to filing for the application.

      2. Complete and signed the application form, including the personal data of the applicant.

      3. Submit his/her original FM-3 or FM-2, which must be current for at least 180 days following the date of application. The original FM will be inspected and returned upon submittal of the application and relinquished definitively upon receipt of applicant’s Naturalization Card.

      4. List all entries and departures from Mexico for the last two years prior to the date of application.

      5. Present original and current foreign passport and copies thereof (the original is inspected and returned and the copy is kept by the Authority). THIS WOULD BE IDENTIFICATION.

      6. Present two color and passport-sized photos. No glasses or hats may be worn. YET MORE IDENTIFICATION.

      7. Pay a filing fee: of $3,205.00 pesos (approximately $300 US dollars)

      8. Evidence that you can speak Spanish, that you know Mexican history and that you are integrated into the national culture. * SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF THE COUNTRY AND ASSIMILATE.

How freaking ironic. Even Mexico requires ID and that you speak Spanish.

@seejaymouser Indeed, these kinds of standards are extremely difficult and onerous to abide– for good reason: Mexico wants to remain Mexican.

@FrankRoman I don’t see what Mexican immigration laws have to do with ours. We don’t follow their tax laws, why should we follow their immigration laws?

The point is that Mexican illegals are demanding that we simply let them walk across the border and live here when their own country would not allow that. Those defending the illegals and saying the US should adjust our laws to grant them amnesty, refuse to recognize that Mexico wouldn’t do the same for illegals in their country.

    HELP RON PUAL cont….

If you can not afford $500, reach out to some Ron Paul supporters that will pledge with you example If you can get 16 Ron Paul supporters to kick in $32 that equals $500 matched to other contributers equals $1000 for Ron Paul. I would try to get less people and kick up the pledge amount, but I know everyne is on a budget. Once you do that you have a great reason for follow up to show your contribution macth has been made and stay in touch to keep them informed and approach them for future fundraisers, people have fun when they are involved. Challenge 5 of your friends to do this, they can go on any RP site and ask a complete stranger RP supporter to help you with you match money pot. You show the doner a print out that five of your friends kickked in to make up the match $500. This adds up big time. DO IT!!! DO IT!!! DOIT!!!!!

Remind everyone they need to register as a Republican if they want to vote for RP in the PRIMARY, this has becaome time critical. Thanks All. Thanks for supporting Ron Paul 2012 ok I’m out, I’m fund raising but I will check in later this week if anyone has asked anything. Jen

    HELP RON PAUL NOW!!!!

hey all of our Ron Paul supporters, I am on a mission and thought you might want to challenge yourselves to the same, it is fun, and I think when people see us doing it, it makes them want to do it AND>> it is this

Call, friends family associates or talk to strangers and inform them ofd Ron Paul if they do not know. Let everyone know that you are trying to raise X amount of dollars for Ron Paul today and you will match the donations that you receive to day. ask them to please help you accomplish your goal.

Pick an amount you can afford, I know we are all on a budget, so example tell people you want to raise $1000 for Ron Paul today Or what day you pick this coming week. Tell them you will match the first $500 dollars for dollar so RP gets $1000. This is fun and it could be huge. Keep in mind the maximimum allowable contribution by one person or couple. haveing multiple people make the macth with you, allows you do this more times.

    *********”WHAT IF”

For now, here is a question.

Keeping in mind that we may not get 100% of what we want, but hope to get a plan from our nominee that we could live with, can you live with this as part of a plan or in addition to Nominees plan.

One last Amnesty with a hitch, That is meeting a specific criteria in a specific time frame, based on good behavior, contributions made here in the US already, currently employed or with a letter of hire, and some to still be determined.

would get to complete Citizenship in some cases and Work Permit in another’s. Once it is determined they qualify they have a mandatory health screening including inoculations. They may also be put on a trial period to not commit a crime. A crime would be punishable to only the person who commits it and not the whole family. This would be at the same time we Secure The Border, axe the Magnets and then expedite the Legal process for the approved, that are already here PERIOD.

You have to remember that Government created Red Tape and also introduced Magnets and did not come up with a with thought out plan to ensure the American People that we would not have an increase in Illegal Immigration and corruption exists on both sides of the border and many are victim of circumstance.

Just notes to all when answering “WHAT IF” when it was presented.

******Now before you all rip my head off, (I know some of you agree with this per your likes and responses) Remember, It costs a fortune to try and find everyone, we never will, the problem will continue, so is this “WHAT IF” not better coupled with a strict new Immigration Policy? There most certainly would be health and economic improvement if this was carried out properly. Can you guys live with this plan? I just need a YES, NO, or ON THE FENCE.

and a brief why not if the answer is NO,

regardless of the answer if you could give a one liner to best of you ability any thing you would want to add as a hitch if You are a Yes or an ON THE FENCE but would say yes if?

Please take this seriously and answer as if you had to decide today because starting today I will be forwarding this information to RON PAUL, and CAMPAIGN as influential supporters such as Ronpaul.con, The Daily Paul and more.

Please have an open mind a realistic mind when reading this, it is brought back by the request of some for review. What is below is a gist of the What If Plan previously sent and my question that I asked when I thought all that had been talking for three weeks would at least have the follow through, the consideration and the courage to answer even if they said ‘NO, this sucks.” at least I would have been able to weigh the yes vs no. The most people that responded with a Like or comment were Ron Paul supporters, some r still on the fence. It showed me that RP supporters follow through. I have already sent the “what if” to Ron Paul affiliates and/or the campaign as a suggestion or food for thought regarding DEPORTATION aspect of Illegal Immigration.

Well.. I can not find the original “What If”, but here is the gist of it below marked with ***** so ya know. This I would like everyone to read in advance to help you have a better understanding. If this is the first time reading this keep in mind that IF anyone was to complete Citizenship They would have to learn English to even pass the test, so that resolves that issue. With Citizenship or Work Permit, a Drivers License and Insurance of some form could be issues, taking care of that problem, Immunization would take place, for those who have legitimate concerns over the spread of Disease, Monies would now be paid in to appropriate programs, and it would be a more level playing field for all when it comes to wages, and the Free Market play a part. There is a demand for Quality and a shortage of it, so many Companies will pay top dollar for sharp people, so you see it improves quality and the economy in many cases. I say we work with what we have here now and keep things simple, and that is with Ron Paul’s plan and this deportation Procedure or addition to the plan “This What If” and a lot of time and money will be save, the process will be more humane/fair The tem slips my mind today but where I come from and why I push this is for times when the punishment does not fit the crime and you should not use a one size fits all.
