Ron Paul works towards the elimination of the inefficient Department of Education, leaving education decisions to be made at the state, local or personal level. Parents should have the right to spend their money on the school or method of schooling they deem appropriate for their children.
On November 14, 2008 Ron Paul said in a New York Times interview:
“First, the Constitution does not authorize the Department of Education, and the founders never envisioned the federal government dictating those education policies.
Second, it is a huge bureaucracy that squanders our money. We send billions of dollars to Washington and get back less than we sent. The money would be much better off left in states and local communities rather than being squandered in Washington.
Finally, I think that the smallest level of government possible best performs education. Teachers, parents, and local community leaders should be making decisions about exactly how our children should be taught, not Washington bureaucrats.
The Department of Education has given us No Child Left Behind, massive unfunded mandates, indoctrination, and in some cases, forced medication of our children with psychotropic drugs. We should get rid of all of that and get those choices back in the hands of the people.”

I’ve been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.

They already can choose where their child is educated.

Wrong. You can’t choose. Depending on where you live, the school your child goes to is determined by district. When I was in school, there was a high school literally right down the street that I could walk to, and all my friends went there. But because of where I lived I had to go all the way across town to another one. No exception could be made unless I proved to have some sort of mental disability.

Yea lets leave education to the local level. So states can full control of the curriculum, especially those states which continually want to remove EVOLUTION from the curriculum because it is a theory. And instead have students learn only INTELLIGENT DESIGN. in fact, lets leave them the freedom to just cut out science class. They are expensive, and get in the way of truth that can only be found in the bible

You do realize that the only true things that have given mankind more freedom is science and technology right? Please don’t take my word for it. Research it yourself just don’t be biased to your beliefs. I’m not saying that your beliefs are wrong or that you are ignorant. I am simply saying that to know the truth you must first research ALL aspects of this world and this universe.

It would be sufficient for science teachers to tell their students about the various theories and let them investigate on their own. Teachers are not there to tell students which theory to believe because it is none of their business. Labs should be eliminated because they ARE expensive, toxic to human lungs, cruel to living creatures, and could even be dangerous.

I was ridiculed by teachers in school because of my beliefs, and no matter what they are how can that be okay? The education system has no right to teach a theory as fact and discriminate against Christians. I don’t buy the “millions and millions of years ago” thing yet I was forced to learn it as truth. I don’t want this to happen to my children, even if I have to pay for private schooling. I want each theory explained thoroughly and without discrimination, how hard is that?
