In these United States of America, one of the wealthiest countries on the planet, many people cannot afford even basic health insurance. They suffer severely under the present system and have to live under the constant fear of not knowing what they will do if they or their loved ones ever fall seriously ill.
But in many cases, insured individuals aren’t much better off either. In comparison to the exorbitant insurance premiums they pay, the medical care they receive is often very poor.
Additionally, due to the government-enforced monopolies of HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations) and pharmaceutical companies, many patients will never even hear about some of the most effective and non-invasive treatment methods. These natural and inexpensive ways of regaining one’s health are being suppressed by the FDA and the medical establishment not because of safety concerns (they’ve been around for hundreds of years), but because they cannot be patented and would therefore cut into the pharmaceutical industry’s profits.
The current system is most definitely broken, and it must eventually be abolished if we want regain both our health and our freedom.
But Obamacare is the worst possible answer. All it does is perpetuate a flawed system by forcing everyone to become a client of insurance companies, even those who don’t want to or need to participate.
Why should anyone be forced to subsidize the medical care of others? Very few individuals would personally assault their neighbors at gunpoint and steal thousands of dollars to pay for their own medical needs. How could any freedom loving person agree to delegate such criminal acts to the government by supporting a compulsory health insurance system?
There is only one solution that will lead to true health and true freedom: making health care more affordable. Ron Paul believes that only true free market competition will put pressure on the providers and force them to lower their costs to remain in business. Additionally, Ron Paul wants to change the tax code to allow individual Americans to fully deduct all health care costs from their taxes.
Through these measures and the elimination of government-sponsored health care monopolies a much larger number of people will be able to finally access affordable health care, either by paying for medical insurance or by covering their medical expenses, which are now much lower, out of their own pocket.
As for the poor and the severely ill who can neither obtain insurance nor pay for the medical care they need, Ron Paul offers the following solution in his book “The Revolution: A Manifesto“:
In the days before Medicare and Medicaid, the poor and elderly were admitted to hospitals at the same rate they are now, and received good care. Before those programs came into existence, every physician understood that he or she had a responsibility towards the less fortunate and free medical care was the norm. Hardly anyone is aware of this today, since it doesn’t fit into the typical, by the script story of government rescuing us from a predatory private sector.
Illegal aliens already receive de-facto free health care. Why can’t poor Americans have the same… not as a right, but as a charitable benefit provided by doctors who feel a personal responsibility for their fellow citizens?
Unfortunately, the current medical monopoly corrupts many doctors by rewarding practices that are not in the patients’ best interest. Pharmaceutical companies have a vested interest in not curing people, but getting them permanently addicted to expensive drugs that have many side effects, thereby requiring additional drugs to suppress those side effects. Many doctors are afraid to speak up and question the system for fear of being ostracized by their peers or even losing their license.
Under a liberated health care system prices would come down and additional options would become available, thereby making health care much more affordable. Moral corruption would give way to true compassion, and many doctors would remember their implicit obligation to provide free medical care to those in need, just like they did in the past.
As a medical doctor, Ron Paul swore the Hippocratic Oath many decades ago. His entire person and career is a monument to the beauty and sanctity of human life. Ron Paul knows that life without health can be very difficult and is not what it was meant to be. He has personally cared for the poor for many years, without asking anything in return.
The government’s original role is to protect our freedoms and restrain itself from causing too much harm. Ron Paul is working to prevent greedy bureaucrats, opportunist politicians and corrupt pharmaceutical companies from having any sort of unhealthy influence over our bodies and minds.
Join the Ron Paul Revolution and help us put the government back where it belongs: to Washington DC and out of our daily lives.

David, I have been searching for the link to your web on laetrile. Someone my sister knows is in painful trouble with pancreatic cancer and could benefit from the info, how and where to obtain it. Could you provide me with a quick link? I found these personal testimonies too. It’s wonderful to know that people are thinking for themselves and finding some natural solutions that work!! Notice that he always asks the question, did someone in the medical community follow-up with you about the cure they discovered. You’d think if a Dr. was truly interested in healing, they’d want to know, right? How can they have a medical practice these days and have a good conscientious?

Hi Christine;
Tell you what, send me an email at wekilledthebank@yahoo.com I have an updated file where i compiled a complete set of step by step instructions of the process we used for my girl, along with simple explanations of what everything does that anyone should be able to understand and use correctly. I’ll respond from my regular email once i have yours and send it to you so that you’ll have it and can forward it on to whoever needs it. I’ll also give you my yahoo id so that you or your sisters friend can contact me and discuss any questions with me first hand. I’ve confirmed that this is exactly the process being used by some of the doctors who are treating cancer under the table with this here, so it should offer the best chance of success.
Lol i set up the fictitious email address for the purpose of setting up a yahoo group to help disseminate information on a free economy, but between the forwards we’ve been doing here and now finally the demand i posted on the sound money group, i think we’ll have our problem solved if enough people participate in it, so i think i’ve done what i can, can pretty much leave the issue alone now and move on to other things and leave it up to everyone else to bring it about.
Re: my future brother in law, were still trying to get him to try this and do it right. He has a lot of fear, first created by the doctors who are following the standard protocol in regards to this and second i think because he’s simply afraid of taking responsibility for doing something about this himself, which is odd because the doctors have only given him a year with anything they can do. I guess whether or not i’ll even survive beyond the next week or two will depend on if a new manufacturer’s rep i have can open up some previously untapped markets for me as the banks shutting down the economy have pretty much killed all of the former ones which were performing great before that, but if so, then we’ll be bringing my girl home to stay and then we’ll try to get her brother and his family here for a month so that i can administer the treatment for him. I think he’ll go for that and hopefully we’ll still have a chance to save him. No guarantees with anything, but at least this would give him a very good chance of a permanent solution. 65 % statistically, as long as we can get it started in time.

Big business loves socialised medicine since you have no choice but to part with your tax dollars their way.
Help the poor yes,but make everyone pay something to see their Doctor.
Health is not just about medicine. It is lifestyle and good nuitrition.Natural remedies also have a place. If we let big Pharma and their dictate to our Govts what we need ,then we will be their slaves.Say no to socialised medicine.
There are better more diverse ways to a healthy life.

Does anyone have historical data backing up this claim of private individuals providing free healthcare before Medicare? I buy it but its hard to argue to nonbelievers without sources.
Thanks!

I do not think health care needs fixing on a collective level. I think health care needs fixing on a personal level.
Corruption begins with frustrated individuals. There *are* those that have health problems that are brought about beyond their control but the VAST MAJORITY of health concerns are matters of personal irresponsibility. People engage in literally hundreds of self-destructive behaviors.
Those that oppose Ron Paul’s non-collective approach to health care issues feel the government is better at handling personal health issues than the individuals. I guess the idea is that the government tells you not do do bad things then it tells others that they have to treat you. It seems insane to think this could be effective. I would rather try to get King Aurthur cut down a tree with a herring (Holy Grail).
Americans have a unique situation that makes what is alleged to work in Europe not viable here. Americans have more bad health habits, obesity, STD’s, poor diet, lack of exercise, and many more problems not shared in scope with other countries. At the same time Americans live longer than most large (I said “large”) population countries hence need more physician visits. This amounts to more medical care needed over a longer lifespan than in other countries.
At the same time, Americans are falling behind in education and producing less qualified physicians. This is not due to lack of desire as much as lack of aptitude I believe. The impending high taxes and hostility to high wage earners will not help this either.
Our debt is already going to bankrupt us but why not wait a while and see what is to come of our wonderful examples in Europe who claim to have plenty of money for all this? Not that I don’t believe them but…

To Christine and the other activists: While I can appreciate your concern for all of these environmental and health issues… this forum really isn’t a billboard for your campaigning. It’s meant to be a place to discuss the merits and de-merits of a candidate for the President of the United States. So unless you have some way of correlating your issues to Ron Paul… I for one would appreciate NOT seeing your posts here for the sake of relevancy. And please spare us the abuse of “What is Ron Paul doing about this?” with the same activist campaign post following. If you have relevant correlating information like: “Ron Paul voted against a measure to remove radioactive waste from a middle school,” THAT is relevant and important.

Rarely around then. There’s a sensitivity around here in America, a sensitivity about someone trying to restrict the right of free speech. That concept would be un-American.
