Foreign Policy

Look, we are bankrupt as a nation. Our army marches in Chinese boots, while our air force flies on Saudi oil. We cannot continue to enforce a Pax Americana while our southern border allows illegals and terrorists to pour into our country. And we certainly shouldn’t be footing the defense bill for countries with whom our industries compete in the global marketplace. Bring our soldiers home. Secure America first.

What is Blowback?

If you hit someone and kill their family, they will hate you and probably hit you back in the future.

That’s what blowback is all about. It seems like such a simple concept, but many of Ron Paul’s opponents for the Presidency vehemently denied its validity.

They proclaim that what our military does abroad has no effect on how the citizens of the world feel towards us. The 9/11 terrorists hated our wealth and freedom so intensely that they sacrificed their lives to prove it? (Of course, our government bombing their countries, propping up their dictators and supplying their enemies with money and weapons had nothing to do with it…)

Instead of securing our borders, we’ve been planning, initiating and waging wars of aggression. Our military is spread thin all across the planet, yet we remain involved in dangerous power plays that unnecessarily put the lives of our soldiers at risk. And we brazenly squandered the wealth of our nation as if there were no tomorrow.

It doesn’t make any sense unless you consider increasing the profits of the military-industrial complex to be in the “national interest”, no matter what the cost to the rest of us may be.

America first. That is what Ron Paul‘s national defense proposal is all about. And with America he means all Americans, not just the elite. If elected President, Ron Paul will continue his efforts to secure our borders, safely bring our troops back home, and finally overhaul the intelligence apparatus in cooperation with intelligence professionals rather than political opportunists.

Ron Paul loves America. He is one of the very few true patriots left in Washington who are actively working on protecting our freedoms, our lives and our dignity.

As an American/ Iranian I will vote for Ron Paul he is a type of president this country needs at this time, I have been a Democrat but the more i listen to Ron the more things start to make more sense to me.

I wish him the best of Luck and i hope to see Ron Paul as the next President of this country,

The U.S.A will once again be a strong country and world would be a better place if he becomes President.

Thank you Ron Paul for your service to this country.

Looking at videos of the Republican Presidential Debate, I’d just wish Ron Paul would stop looking so ‘neutral’ when he talks about national security.. because he comes across as if he wouldn’t have national security AT ALL, in a way…

WE know that’s not the case, but a little ‘let me be clear I won’t dismantle the military or national security HERE in this country’ or ‘rest assured the US won’t lower the guard in the defense of our domestic national security’ or something similar CERTAINLY wouldn’t hurt.

How I wish Mr. Paul himself would read this!

This 2012 election IS AMERICAS LAST STAND!!!! When I watch the Republican Debates, or worse, when Obombya talks, it sickens me to the core. I truly feel if Dr. Paul does not run against Obummer, America will be lost! Some say its Gods plan. I find it hard to believe God planned the end like this. Its more like the greed of man has made the end like this, God is just going to have to cleane up our mess. We are like children taking a toy away from another child, just because we are not satisfied all the toys we have been given! But what do I know…. Pay no attention, that guy must be crazy right… Lets go watch Snooki, X Factor, And… oh look Lyndsey Lohan is on the news again…Whew, back to reality…Right! PLEASE WAKE UP!

Why would foriegn countries ever accept the us coming in and destroying everything they knew, tell them to change their ways, just so they can buy a five..five dollar…five dollar foot long…any any…. You see, you would never stop resisting if they invaded here. So do we truly expect them to ever stop? And has anyone noticed that all the countries we are backing for regime change are or were seculare and not against Isreal. But now( with help from the US and Nato) these countries new leaders are against Isreal. and have taken over those countries wealth and wepons to do just that. Try to take out Isreal. And yet we stand and say we have Isreals back! We are fullfilling bible prophecy as we speak! PLEASE WAKE UP!

Way to go Obama, you just gave Al Quida a home base and a ton of weapons. Libya’s transitional leader says Islamic Sharia law will be the “basic source” of all law. Ron tried to tell you.

Maybe you should do a quick study of Basic Sharia law? Basic Sharia law IS no different from Catholic Moral teachings, simply a honourable way to live your life and respect other people.

It is none of your busines or mine what law they choose, as long as they don’t try to stuff it down our throats. And our way does not need to be their way. Try to make me live by someone else’s rules and I will fight you to the death even though I am pushing 70. I think other countries feel the same way. Our form of democracy has plenty of holes in it. We need to look to our own problems and rely on the intelligence and strength of people of other countries to do the same for them selves. After all, the Iraqis with assistance from neighboring countries were trying to move Hussein out when we went barreling in their guns ablazing. Too bad we had a shoot-from-the-hip president.

One last thing. We have men and women returning every day from Iraq and Afghanistan, men and women who will have the same freaking nightmares I have had to live with and those nightmares will be with them for the rest of their lives. And it will only get worst when they fully realize that they were not fighting terrorist they were in fact fighting to save the petrodollar. What a joke.

I served in Vietnam. Thirteen months of pure hell on earth. Now I am 66 years old and I know beyond a doubt that 55,000 men and women lost their lives for nothing, zero, zip. Oh I know we were fighting Communism. What a pile of crap that was. What we were really doing was saving the asses of the French. How many people know that Ho Chi Minh had a picture of Gorge Washington on his office wall and a copy of our declaration of independence. As a matter of fact there declaration starts out word for word as ours. Our government will blow you full of smoke at ever turn when it comes to getting into a foreign conflict. Ron is right when it comes to foreign conflicts. We can not and do not have the right to police the world. So take it form one who knows the truth, one who got coned into killing innocent people and one who still deals with nightmares ever day of his life. I truly despise this crap. It ruined my freaking life.

@w1945 Roger that w1945!!! I was in the Nam in ’63. On Nov 2, the Diem brothers were assassinated. Three weeks later JFK was killed. President Kennedy wanted to get us out of Viet Nam. We were sold a crock of s….!

IMO, Dr. Paul’s mind-our-own-business is what we should do, save diplomatic trade agreements and short of giving the continent back to the Indians and Mexicans. The Arabs just want their independence and self-rule. We are invaders, just like Nam.

A hundred years ago in the Middle East, there was a movement to unite the Arab tribes and form their own sovereign nation in opposition to 400+ years of Ottoman rule. Britain wanted their help to beat the Turks in WW 1. So Britain promised the Arabs that no foreign power would take over Arab land after the war. But behind closed doors the Sykes-Picot agreement and the Balfour Declaration were agreed to. The Arabs were betrayed. Britain and France wanted Arab oil.

The US established diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia in 1931 for the purpose of oil exploration…in effect, a trade agreement. This would be OK with Dr. Paul if I understand him accurately. But I don’t think Dr. Paul would establish any billion dollar hundred acre embassies like we have in Iraq.

America has been going down into the dumps since 1947 in the Everson v. Board of Education Case when Our U.S. Supreme Court Redefined the True Meaning of “Seperation of Church and State”–(Nowhere in Our Constitution)–to now mean that the “Church” is a Danger to the State–and From that point on our Laws were No Longer based upon Common Law, which is based upon the Bible,–But now are–”Statuatory Laws” based upon the ” Atheistic Religion of Secular Humanism”–also called Situation Ethics in our Public (State) Schools which are DIVISIVE and Destroys the American Family and Individuals.–OBAMA is repeating the ” Robespierre’s Enlightenment in France”—and IF the USA goes under , then OBAMA will have the Answer/Solution– with his 10-12 CZARS –like another World Leader of the past who caused over 600,000 Dead—Until America Returns to God–Another –A 3RD Great Awakening –WE will Fall–and that will not happen unless Judgement Falls Upon America,-which we deserve as a Nation Today.–WE NEED A LEADER WHO WILL LEAD US BACK TO GOD FIRST—READ FIRST JOHN ,CHAPTER 2 VERSES 15-17—THAT IS WHY AMERICA WILL FALL !!!

UMMMM, I think religious freedom is a basic tenet of our democracy. That means freedom from being harrassed by people who practice a different faith than I do or who have no professed faith. Sounds like you want to go back to the days when if you didn’t pray in school, you were villified by teachers and mocked by other students. Some Christians do not believe in praying in school. I think a true Christian looks to the teachings of Jesus, who clearly separated church and state. “Render unto Caesar” and all that, you know? He also did not deride other religions, but sent his apostles out to build his church. That did not seem to encompass attacking others, but teaching and living a Christian example. I am an active, practicing Christian, who profoundly disagrees with you .We don’t get to dictate others beliefs or lack thereof in school or elsewhere. WWJD.

Rick Perry is right in that the best thing we can do is unleash the restrictions on domestic energy production. The low sulphur coal fiels that Clinton placed off limits need to be exploited. For every barrel of oil we do not import there is one less reason to be involved in foreign affairs. There is enough oil in Alaska to meet our needs fully, for example. Shale gas has tremendous potential. Hopefully solar costs will come down over time. Since most of our foreign military presences are related to protecting oil supplies there is not only financial gain by becoming independent but also de-militarizing interests.

There is an estimated 10.4 billion barrels of oil in Alaska. Nobody knows for certain so to say there is enough oil in Alaska to meet our needs fully is pretty ignorant. The U.S. uses 21 million barrels of oil per day and 6 million of those come from domestic sources. Domestic oil production is declining since older oil fields are drying up. Taking the “Drill Baby Drill” approach in Alaska is not the answer. The demand for oil is rising and will rise to about 22.5 million barrels a day by 2013. (Source: Energy Department’s analysis based on data from the U.S. Geologic survey.) Alone, that equates to about 500 days of oil. Definitely not enough to meet our needs “fully”. If we demilitarized the Middle East and drilled in Alaska, we would have less oil! Imagine that. We do need to leave the Middle East since we are spending roughly 700 billion dollars per year to finance the military over there. Certainly, the “best thing we can do” is not to release restrictions on domestic energy production. Rather, financing research for alternative fuels so we don’t have to rely on resources that will deplete within this century. We actually could be driving around in efficient electric cars, the EV1, but because of corruption between oil companies and the gov’t, we’re not. There are definitely better things we can do than release domestic energy production restrictions. Thinking outside the box helps sometimes.

Solar cost are already down in many areas. In some parts of Arizona you can go solar and pay no more than your normal monthly utility bill. It is a lease program. What do you propose to do about the sulfur emissions? Do you not remember when we were unable to play or work outside due to the deadly air pollution in Denver, LA, and other cities? It killed and crippled many people…COPD, heart failure. I don’t think it is OK to go back to those terrible conditions Have you ever been to Lewiston, Idaho, where sulfur emissions from the pulp mill ate the paint off houses and melted your nylon shirt right off your back? We can become independent without destroying ourselves. We have developed and exported the technologies, but are too tied up in big oi to utilize it ourselves. Follow the money.

What if we imposed an import tariff on any country that had an unfair advantage against US production? This would require the cancelling of the sovereignty destroying Free Trade agreements that only benefit multinational corporations and third world countries. A tariff is authorized in the Constitution as a legitimate tax. Probably enough could be raised to retire our debt entirely.

I don’t think I’ve done enough research on Ron Paul, but I generally agree with Ron his foreign policy. Ron Paul kind of reminds me of media analyst and activist Jared Israel. For all of you who don’t know who Jared Israel is, he is an absolute genius who documents and shows specific reasons for America’s general foreign policy, and he analyzes distortions by the media that push that goal. I think Ron Paul activists need to read Jared Israel’s work, because everyone else is brainwashed into thinking that America is fighting terror(I used to be one of those), and so no amount of evidence to the contrary will change their minds. Ron Paul activists though, are generally aware that this is not the case. His website is http://www.tenc.net (The Emperor’s New Clothes)–Jared Israel is also honest and writes when he’s changed his mind on a particular issue. So check that site out and see if you like it.

hmm dude theres so much stuff wrong with that :S

no1 would want 2 c america go down. Especially in the west. Ive lived in Germany, Canada and brazil,as much as every1 makes fun of America, they recognize the role it plays in the world, and as such respect them for it. Russia isnt the soviet union anymore, most people there are actually pro america, especially the youth. China needs its trading partners, therefore its not gonna afford to loose its biggest one, its economy will just collapse in itself.

I agree with the Iraq point, however America asked for that. No matter how you see it, we had no buisness going into Iraq, it was purely a political mistake and nothing else.

And you are subject to a major logical fallacy there; just because the majority of people believe something doesnt make them right. And no matter how you see it, theres no way you can prove that god exists, and this gives everyone the right to interpret it any way they want.

American Foreign Policy for too long has been “America is the greatest country in the world because is anyone disagrees we’ll stomp the hell out of them.”

We have been, continue, and will continue to destablize nations in the middle east because a very small group of unelected officials DECIDED that the US military would destabilize the region so that Isreal could achieve it’s manifest destiny of the Euphrates. I agree with Ron Paul. Let Israel fight it’s own war without our help or restraint.

We have been making Muslim enemies for ten years now and we will be lucky if by merely ceasing occupations peace will prosper, but that challenge is no excuse for continuing to antagonize people. Americans are wondering whose side Pakistan is on. Well, they were on our side until we started killing hundreds of Pakistani citizens with our drones. This must cease. Ron Paul issued a statement about Libya that makes more sense than any news report and that is Khadafi was planning to establish a gold dinar and stop using the dollar to buy and sell oil. The bill in dollars and blood should be sent to Wall Street for Libya.

It was Henry Kissinger that promoted the poilicy of sending American “cannon fodder” to kill and die for American corporate interests. You know, the corporations that pay no taxes. I say let Exxon hire Blackwater and take the tab and support off the American taxpayer and youth.

Then we may become the greatest country in the world again.

    Thank you.
