California’s Day of Reckoning

Californians know they are overtaxed, which is why they decisively the recent series of initiatives designed to close the state deficit, largely through tax increases. Yet, they want to maintain high public spending.
Unlike the states, Washington can temporarily delay budget woes by firing up the printing presses. But we can no longer ignore economic reality. [...]

Ron Paul: Income Tax = Involuntary Servitude

In his latest column, Ron Paul talks about Tax Freedom Day, a hypothetical holiday which is “celebrated” today, April 13, and symbolizes the fact that Americans are slaving away 3.5 months, or 28.2% of this year to fulfill the government’s voracious appetite for confiscatory taxes, corrupt bailouts and wasteful stimulus efforts. Ron Paul wants to [...]

Oh No, Not Another Bailout!

By engaging in bailout after bailout, government bureaucrats subsidize failed but well-connected losers by effectively confiscating the necessary resources from productive and successful members of the economy. Ron Paul explains why such bailouts are a bad idea and why we should allow the natural incentives and regulations of the free market to pick the winners [...]

Corporate Greed vs. Political Greed

I honestly am worried about our country as are many others on this site and nationwide. The difference is that the masses are leading us towards more of the same if not worse, while the smart sensible opinions rooted in logic and sound theories that can be applied to real life situations are being ignored, [...]

“Change” or More of the Same?

Senators Obama and McCain have completed a series of “debates” and the election is fast approaching.
The buzzword of the campaigns has been “change”. Obama wants to enact change to help the middle class, McCain wants to change the Republican party back into what it once was, and both candidates vow to change the greed [...]

Let The Market Do Its Job

“Amid the financial turmoil, U.S. President George W. Bush delivers daily affirmations on the nation’s crippled economy. Those who hope to succeed him in office claim that only they know how to lift America off its knees. But the one winning the public trust battle is Congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul.”

Senate to Revive Bailout Bill Tonight

As predicted earlier this week, the failed bankers and their government enablers won’t take “no” for an answer. Even though the Bailout Bill was soundly defeated by the House on Monday, the Senate still plans to vote on the bill tonight.
How is this even possible?
In circumvention of normal procedures, the Senate merged the Bailout [...]

No Bailout: We The People Prevailed

Victory!

Thanks in no small part to massive public rejection and outcry the “Bailout Bill” was defeated today 228-205.
But the bankers and their allies in Congress won’t take “no” for an answer.
There could be another vote as early as Thursday… so let’s keep up the pressure!

In addition to speaking out against the Bailout Bill [...]

Ron Paul to Congress: Don’t Destroy The Dollar!

The process of this bailout reminds me of a panic-stricken swimmer thrashing in the water only making his situation worse. Even a “bipartisan deal” – whatever that is supposed to mean – will not stop the Congress from thrashing about.
The beneficiaries of the corrupt monetary system of the last three decades are now desperately [...]
