In response to reports that his son, Dr. Rand Paul, is being encouraged to run for Senate, Congressman Ron Paul issued the following statement.
“I’ve always encouraged my children to participate in the public debate. Should Senator Bunning decide not to run, I think Rand would make a great US Senator.

Kentucky will be sending 45 delegates to the national convention, 42 of which are tied to today’s closed primary. Results will be available here.

John McCain: 142,855 votes (72%)
Mike Huckabee: 16,239 votes (8%)
Ron Paul: 13,439 votes (7%)

This weekend Ron Paul attended a book signing at Borders Book in Louisville, Kentucky. More than 600 people stood in line to buy Ron Paul’s “The Revolution: A Manifesto” and get their copy signed by the author.

The Kentucky and Oregon Republican primaries will take place tomorrow, on May 20, 2008.
