Why don’t you play one of the videos where he sides with people who consider Abraham Lincoln to be one of history’s worst war criminals? Here’s the mildest example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbOE4Ip7In0
Good luck with the revolution, whackos!
Where does he say that he considers Lincoln one of history’s “worst war criminals”?
I love that video and I agree you should put it up because it shows that Ron Paul can think for himself and doesn’t hesitate to question widely accepted half truths.
If you read up on history you’ll find that the Civil War was NOT fought over slavery. Ron Paul is absolutely right. Slavery was just an official reason to make the war palatable to the masses. Without a beautiful and romantic “cause” the population wouldn’t have supported a war that killed 600,000 Americans.
Not surprisingly, we get a visit from a propagandist who has never had an independent thought in his life, and can’t believe anyone would ever suspect that what his fourth-grade teacher taught him might not be the entire truth. Banish such thoughts, comrade! The regime has given you the Truth!
People like this are exactly — EXACTLY — what this regime thrives on.
It’s funny how if you speak the truth about Lincoln’s complete disregard for the Constitution, you are branded as a racist. I suppose imprisoning a US congressman because he publicly disagrees with the agenda of the President, and denying him habeas corpus is a great thing? Shutting down newspapers that disagree and jailing editors is a good thing? Breaking international law in placing an embargo on your own port is a good thing?
Lincoln completely disregarded the Constitution… ignoring that only screams ignorance.
Well Fred Talbott… looks like you just got hand your hindparts in a hand basket. It’s okay brother, you can always come home… ALWAYS.
I for one don’t think Fred is a propagandist. If someone really believes that Abraham Lincoln was America’s greatest president then I understand why they would defend him. But there’s so much more to Lincoln than what we learn in school… actually, there’s a lot more to just about anything taught in school. Schools aren’t meant to educate but to control the people and to prevent them from making up their own minds. I’m so glad we have Youtube these days… you could spend years educating yourself about a wide variety of topics that are all presented from different viewpoints.
BLESS ALL of YOU!!! that has been busting their humps to get this man to be president.I have been doing my part.BLESS YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
your wrong when you say “Slavery was just an official reason to make the war palatable to the masses.” Abe Lincoln hated slavery he long opposed it..the war was not over slavery it was over secession….he ended slavery in the south as a strategic move to weaken the south he had no intention of abolishing it in the union because the constitution did not allow it….he changed the war from secession to secession and slavery Abe Lincoln was a genius and if you knew anything about him and the civil war you would know that.
and lincoln may have disregarded the constitution but you must understand he was trying to save the united states…..i respect the man….but i do not think he was the greatest president in history..
Disregarding the constitution which he pledged to protect. sound familiar? Can you say patriot act?
One other option Lincoln had was to buy the freedom of the slaves. But other forces prevented him from doing so, plus he was not sure if he had the right to do so. He did, since the Bill or Rights protects all people. Most agree to that today, but not so many in those days. Ron Paul is right on this issue. The Supreme Court and the Constitution should of prevented the War from happening, but many people were against freeing slaves.
It was another needless war. If people had just followed the rule of Law and the Constitution, it could of all been avoided. Ron Paul is correct on this.
Fred Talbott is wrong.
Yes, again…and again…and again Ron Paul comes up with the most accurate of assessments and without bashing rhetoric as we know it today with the other candidates. Ron Paul was correct…senseless war to free slaves when other countries did the same thing without war. Dudy Clair, unfortunately many don’t like the truth pushed back in their faces, too bad we can’t change the people.
I’m a Ron Paul supporter, i’m not here to bash anyone, but I do want to say that this issue is quite deep. Abe couldn’t control the south from seceding, could he? The rule of law and the constitution couldn’t have stopped the south half from rebelling and wanting independence…so i don’t see how this is truly Abe’s fault.
If he followed the constitution/bill of rights and freed the slaves, it would have started a war. i’m from the south and i believe that they would have rebelled on the spot and went to war.
I think we all need to agree that none of us were there and that Abe was in a very tight spot where it was a lose-lose situation from the start. Because the Confederacy very clearly wanted their independence at a certain point. They weren’t going to rein themselves in when Lincoln read them the constitution would they??
God Bless, and Godspeed to Ron Paul.
Excessive tarrifs were purpously enacted against southern states’ textiles and raw agriculural products such as cotton by a handful of northern industrialists whom vied for centralized government and eventually a Federal Reserve Bank in 1913. To these “men of money” it was necessary to keep slavery as the “strawman issue” so conspicuous and dogmatic that the idea of raising a Union (Industrialist) army could be raised to kill fellow countrymen without critical opposition or negotiation for compromise between the states. Lincoln became dictator. The War of Northern Aggression was intentional mass murder to eliminate effective State Rights, hence, true representation and individual liberty. Patriot Act ll?
All this talk about slavery not being an issue in the Civil War.
Did slavery end after the war? Did it?
Then, CERTAINLY, abolition was one of the motivations for the war.
In what imaginary country is The Civil War called The War Of Northern Agression? Oh, that’s right…The South.
The south…a disaster to this very day.
Thank you Ron Paul and all the Patriots that Cured our Apathy!! Let’s continue this march towards Liberty and get involved in our own local government.
We must continue to have a PEACE R3VOLUTION and educate without anger.
I am honored to have been associated with Dr. Paul and the many many many wonderful new friends - new Republicans, Independents, Democrats and other Americans that will hopefully join together and make real changes.
See you in September! March On!

“The Gold standard”
Ron Paul would approve of this message
Abraham Lincoln was a threat to the Republic. During the Civil War, Lincoln appropriated powers no previous President had wielded: he used his war powers to proclaim a blockade, suspended the writ of habeas corpus, spent money without congressional authorization, and imprisoned 18,000 suspected Confederate sympathizers without trial.
Ron Paul is right.
For a little, nostalgic look back on where we’ve been,
and a glimpse into the near future of the Rally in Minneapolis,
I’ve put together a couple videos entitled: Paul’s Revered Patriots:

For Freedom, Prosperity, and Peace
Since everyone seems to want to talk about Lincoln here, I thought I’d add some things.
1st – Lincoln slavery wasn’t abolished in the entire US after the war. It was only abolished in those states that attempted to leave the Union. “That on the 1st day of January, A.D. 1863, all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free;” In fact, he didn’t even include Washington D.C. If he really felt so strongly about ending slavery, then he would have included the entire Union at that time.
2nd – I have read the Constitution many times. In all this time, never have I found the clause that states once you join, you can never leave. Sounds like gang mentality to me.
3rd – I find it interesting that so many educated persons believe that the Constitution is against slavery. I mean, most of the “Founders” had slaves. It even states how slaves should be counted for purposes of determining how many Rep a state can have in Congress. If I recall correctly, Native Americans (yes, they enslaved them too) counted as not at all and black people counted as 3/5 a human being.
In truth, I couldn’t care less about Lincoln at the moment. All this crap is a big distraction that really doesn’t matter at the moment. What matters is stopping the BS that’s taking place now. I hope everyone wakes the hell up, before it’s too late.
Here is a Ron Paul Video to post!
