Why are you supporting H.R.45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009? The government already records the sale of firearms through legitimate dealers and first generation sales.
The idea of firearm licensing seems to be a minor income stream and a major invasion of my privacy. From a financial standpoint it will cost more to administer than it takes in. If it doesn’t show something close to zero base then the tax will increase.
You say that you are in favor of smaller government but this will create more government oversight and more government jobs costing more of my money for nothing more than a database that will never be accurate.
If it is a revenue measure then I am against in principle as I shouldn’t have to pay a tax to be allowed to exercise my second amendment rights. Why don’t you organize the same data collection for sale of some mundane items like lawnmowers, bicycles or laptops. You could collect additional tax dollars every time someone moves an item on ebay or craigslist.
If it is an attempt to usurp police power reserved to the States and my right to bear arms for self defense then I again am against this bill. I think the real reason for this bill is to put additional hurdles between me and my weapons.
Representative Paul you are barking up the wrong tree by getting in bed with the liberals here. I understand your view as a medical professional that numerous injuries are caused by senseless use of weapons. I also understand that there is great concern about the transportation of weapons to other countries.
Those people that use and sell weapons for illegal purposes are not going to be in your database. They are not going to pay your taxes. They will go about their business as usual and be the point of distribution if “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State”.
I have owned at least one firearm at all times since I was 14 years of age. I have hunted for game and fired in marksman competition damaging nothing more than my hearing and pieces of paper. I have served my country in the Marines from 1968-1972. I will be damned if I will give up the right to bear arms. I will fight you and any others that try to remove this right or dilute it. I am opposed to further collection of personal data and the ever increase of the size of government. I am opposed to the punitive taxation on firearms and ammunition.

Great work you are doing. An audit of the Fed is necessary, but I am afraid it could be too late. Why not put up a bill to stop the $24 trillion being taken by these thieves. Why not citizens arrest of all of these crooks now the whole lot in one swoop. Why not a bill to say all laws passed that violate the constitution be made invalid. We need really serious action on all fronts. I would like to see a co-ordinated effort by the good people to do this now. I do not think we have that much time, I am sure those aware would rally around with full support on all fronts.

Thank you for your comment. I was pondering Jim’s words a little along the same line of thinking, wondering where the hatred and lies came out of my words and your response helped me make up my mind to write a little more for clearification.
I thought maybe the word “mulatto” was seen as hatred. Don’t know, but, according to Webster’s definition #2, mulatto simply means “a person of mixed black and white ancestry”. No hatred or lie there. I used that word to make the point that he is not all black and it seems wrong to refer to him as a black president when he is 1/2 white ( and one blog says that the black half is actually mostly, 7/16ths, Arab, I don’t know), thus mulatto was more appropriate, and we don’t want to disrespect the Arab contribution to our countries current development by leaving them out of the discussion, in case they want recognition, too, right.
One of my best friends was a black game warden that used to stop by my business just to visit. He passed quite a few years ago now though. No recial prejudice on my part, but I am prejudice against those who hate America and the freedom its constitution guarantees. As for the “lies”, I am left having to assume that has to do with my concern for the lagitamacy of B.O.’s citizenship. For my part, that has to do with my disgust for the apparent arrogence of the Democratic Party and B.O. in that his records were sealed and they refused to verify B.O.’s place of birth. Where does anyone get off refusing to prove there qualifications for the highest office in this country. That is were I was coming from. If he was born in the United States of America, then there is no reason to seal his records in that respect. You can fill in the rest on that.
So, no lie there until his records are un-seals and his birth in the U.S.of A. is proven absolutely.

Ron Paul – I agree with your positions on everything I have heard you say and I wish you were President of the U.S of A. right now.
For the record, I want to make the point that my wife and I can not believe that our currently elected foreigner president got into the White House by the popular vote of the American citizenry. We also can not believe that if our government was truly functioning as it is required to, by law, that there would not be law enforcement going after B.O.’s proof of citizenship and much much more concerning all of this.
There is just no way that Americans would put that mulatto in office. The whole thing had to be rigged from the get go all the way through and everything else associated with that whole mess, the Federal Reserve, and the Department of the Treasury, etc.
The American people just could not be that stupid. There has to be powerful people that are manipulating this and the huge money distribution scheme that is in play and powerful enough to do it contrary to the will of the American people. Presently, the United States uses the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles set by the Financial Accounting Standards Board to create the financial statements for investors
to base their investment decisions on. The International Accounting Standards Board wants to implement the International Financial Reporting Standards for 2013. When it

5. Public response: Public hearings are held to discuss the issue and letters of response are sent to the FASB which then analyzes this feedback.
6. Exposure draft (ED): It details the proposed treatment for the problem.
7. Public response: Written responses to the ED are accepted and analyzed. The ED is revised, if necessary, depending on the board’s analysis.

It makes me wonder who is sitting on the Board and whose interests they have at heart.

You get my vote for President anytime. However, I would like to know at least something about your strategy to get in the debates to the end. I am of the opinion that GWBush literally stole the Presidency two times (see movie Without Precedent and book Betrayal of America) and it no longer matters who wins the presidency so long as he follows orders and continues destroying our once glorious nation. In a fair and just society I believe you would have had a good chance of winning the 2008 presidency but most certainly would win the 2112 hands down if the US remains intact until then. The people will give you the vote, so what; what is your plan to prevent your being barred from debates, and if you have a plan then what is your plan to see that the polls are honest? Of course, I don’t expect details but an answer would be nice. I just wanted to point out that you had better get a plan with muscle and cunning or forget about running.
I have one idea that might help all of us: Speak to youtube.com creators and suggest creation of a democratic network where we the people vote on everything regarding government and its network (ie Federal Reserve, NASA, etc), not just major issues. All who have computers or can find access to a computer and desires to vote can cast a vote. It was already done with the Carnegie Hall competition decided by youtube votes. The end result may even be a democratic society like Switzerland where citizens actually make the decisions and the government is the administrative end. Of course, this is wishful thinking, and I can go to jail for even suggesting it.
One more thing. You are a gentleman to a fault. You speak to Bernanke and Vice Chair of Fed Reserve Kohn in too easy a manner. Yes, you are relentless in your quest for truth. Under the subject of “Who will follow in Ron Paul’s footsteps”, Jeff Frazee, Executive Director of Young Americans for Liberty has sent out an email requesting donations to sponsor 64 youth activists to “receive the top political training available.” He says “they (will) receive the highest level of political training in the country.”
I SMELL A RAT. All of the political training is by its nature business as usual. It cannot be otherwise. We don’t need politicians, we need statesmen . . . and we surely don’t need more demos and repubs. Who’s going to be doing the training . . . likely more career minded, would-be politicians. This is not a (Ron Paul) revolution, it’s more of the same political bs that has been going on since before the ink dried on the Constitution.
Do we need political parties? I don’t know, but these things and others, like paid lobbyists, need to be examined and we surely don’t need to train our youth by perpetuating the same mindset we’ve had.
What we have done has not worked. Why do we keep doing the same and think some modifications will fix it. Those who are running things benefit by keeping it the same. Why would they change it.

The reason is simple: Grand general rules are either so general as to leave room for particulars to be addressed as they arrive (the U. S. Constitution is commonly considered to have this as its key virtue) or they are so detailed as to eliminate any discretion on the part of representatives on the scene, as it were (state constitutions such as those of New York and California are commonly cited as examples).
Dr. Paul’s insistence on nothing not in the Constitution is just plain imprudent, and based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the whole business.
When you are able to read and think about politics, which is after all the art and science of getting what you want and convincing others to want the same voluntarily, you might want to read some Good Books.

Professors are the biggest buffoons of all. If they actually did anything useful they wouldn’t be begging for welfare or excuse me “research grants”.

Thank you for your efforts. I believe the long term answer to our problems are term limits. The career politicians are not responsive to the people, are only seeking re-election, and will not address the work/issues required to stem our nations decline. I’d like to begin a widespread petition to bring emphasis to this issue, but I’m not sure it will do any good. What is the requirement to implement real term limits (1 term for senators, and 3 terms for representatives)? Is it a constitutional change? How do we get it done?

I have several friends who would like to drive to Vegas to support you, but many of us have been laid off from our jobs and can only come up with the gas and hotel money to go to Vegas for your conference and don’t have the extra $59 to attend as students. That Homosexuality is Treatable
I am pleased to announce that the U.S.-based National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) has just released its long-awaited comprehensive review of over 125 years of scientific research on homosexuality. This groundbreaking report, “What Research Shows,” dispels the myths that are commonly used to promote the legalization of same-sex marriage and the mainstreaming of homosexuality throughout society and in the public schools by force of law.

“We acknowledge that change in sexual orientation may be difficult to attain. As with other difficult challenges and behavioral patterns—such as low-self-esteem, abuse of alcohol, social phobias, eating disorders, or borderline personality disorder, as well as sexual compulsions and addictions—change through therapy does not come easily.”
“We conclude that the documented benefits of reorientation therapy—and the lack of its documented general harmfulness—support its continued availability to clients who exercise their right of therapeutic autonomy and self-determination through ethically informed consent.”
The NARTH report warns that “The limited body of clinical reports that claim that harm is possible—if not probable— if a person simply attempts to change typically were written by gay activist professionals.”
3. There is significantly greater medical, psychological, and relational pathology in the homosexual population than the general population.
“Researchers have shown that medical, psychological and relationship pathology within the homosexual community is more prevalent than within the general population. …In some cases, homosexual men are at greater risk than homosexual women and heterosexual men, while in other cases homosexual women are more at risk than homosexual men and heterosexual women. …Overall, many of these problematic behaviors and psychological dysfunctions are experienced among homosexuals at about three times the prevalence found in the general population—and sometimes much more. …We believe that no other group of comparable size in society experiences such intense and widespread pathology.”

Hello Honorable Beings,
There has been the strangest series of unfortunate events in my life. This is all with a home owner association at 720 York Street, San Francisco, CA 94110. All of these events were really for a piece of paper, that Debra Davids had to fill out, but instead she lied to the Attorney General, and then takes revenges, covertly, so only I can see, but at times, I have witnesses to the crimes against me. I tell my story because I nearly died because of the technology used against me, and at this point, she already destroyed my body, and who knows what else she, and they, will do, but at least my story, or at least parts of it will be told. Dr. Paul,
What I believe (is possible) is that we have elected a terrorist smarter than all the Americans who voted for him. He knows that if he can weaken America from the inside, America will be susceptible from the outside. The damage he is doing to the economy (now and for the future,) the rights he wishes to take away from the people, the socialist views he’s attempting to impose (healthcare etc., all point to an amazing, well thought out plot to destroy America and American Culture. Our government has been infiltrated and covertly controlled for years by overseas special interest. Who would have ever thought America would be run by people named Barrack Obama and Rahm Emmanuel. Just a decade ago it was unthinkable, but through rigged, controlled elections, agreed to by on the take Republicans and Democrats alike, granted back room deals and political safety, as well as security for their personal families, America has been sold. Sold to the highest bidder… and those with the money are in the Arab world. Oil can buy anything… and in America, it has bought the position of President of the United States.
The only saving grace for American’s at this point is what I believe to be a major miscalculation of his presidential power. His ability to control troops against his own people (Americans.) This power is not as strong as say Saddam Hussein’s may have been against his own people. In America, Marines, Army Rangers, hell for that matter the National Guard, are not as likely to be duped into suppressing the American people in full revolution. They are Americans… many of whom were not happy with the election of Obama. The move to get guns out of our hands is because Mr. Obama and his allies know it is the last requirement before opening our borders to terrorists. Simply put, well armed Americans are the only defense our country has left. Most of our troops are somewhere overseas.
Keep in mind, Americans privately hold weapons all across our great land – yet there is no chaos – even in a time when it would be right and fair to overthrow the government, we show restraint. We are a good people who want to believe in what is right and give a newly elected President a chance to succeed. It is unfortunate he seeks to abandon that trust. You know as well as I do – that criminals use guns for violence, Americans use guns to protect themselves from criminals… something law enforcement is unable to do. Law enforcement is there to keep the peace, not to guarantee safety.
We know that if a robber walks into a convenience store and points a gun in the clerks face, the clerk would be much safer with three other American customers in the store all packing heat. The robber would be justifiably gunned down by a law abiding US citizen. There would be one less worthless piece of crap on the street and a hero born. What we need in this country is Americans to be Federally deputized. Any American over age 35 with no criminal record willing to undergo a psychological evaluation should be able to apply for and become a Volunteer Federal US Deputy with a badge and firearm and able to act anytime they see the commission of a crime. I would make it federal so that they can act in any state across the nation. They would be volunteers and cost the country nothing and would instantly increase our policing ability.
They would be empowered to detain and deport illegal immigrants, intervene in the commission of any felony or misdemeanor crime against a person or state and be called upon for domestic security against foreign nationals here at home. Right now millions of legal, gun owning, law abiding citizens await such a duty and would take it on with great pride. Patriots… and that is exactly what we would call them.
I encourage you to consider this… and I am hopeful we can get something done

Question to Ron Paul:
There has been much controversy over Obama and his birth certificate. Thus there appears to be a major loophole in running for president. On one hand, the constitution states one must be an American Citizen, and on the other it does not require proof to be presented before running for the office of the president.
Therefore my question to Mr. Paul:
Would you support and sponsor a bill requiring any person running for president to have to provide a copy of his/her ORIGINAL birth certificate before they can be eligible?
This law/ammendment would insure proof of citizenship. learly the good of the country outweighs any privacy issue by any candidate. Any patriot should be more than willing to comply. How can the people trust anyone that would not be willing to do so.
The nice thing about this law would be that it will put an end to Obama not showing his birth certificate because he will want to run as the incumbant. In doing so he would now be required by law to do so.
Obama has spent quite a bit of money not to disclose his. This should make him quite suspect, especially for a president that touts transparency.
Two things will happen from this law:
1) Obama shows his original birth certificate and put an end to any speculation.
2) Obama does not run for a second term because he cannot have his birth certificate become public. Of course he will come up with some other reason as to why he decided not to run.
Politics is much like a chess game, if you want to defeat Obama you are going to have to think quite a few moves ahead.
This bill should be recieved well as it would put politicians on record of not requiring proof to protect the USA just like constitution intended to, if they do not support it. It also forces Obama to show his hand on his birth certificate.
